Posted this on your r/vegan post, but I figure it might help someone here who might not otherwise see it.

You need to see an allergist. It sounds to me like you’ve got oral allergy syndrome, which is basically where you’re allergic to the pollens of foods that are in the same family or otherwise structurally similar. It’s not at all uncommon, but you need to see an allergist because you need to make sure there’s no underlying cause. Also, because OAS can be a bit, erm, unpredictable in that you don’t always realize that you’re eating something that will trigger your allergies, you will probably want to have an Epi-Pen and/or emergency inhaler in the event you have a severe reaction. If your allergist deems it a good idea, keep them on or near you at all times, and remember to get replacements whenever they expire. I’ve gone years without having to use my Epi-Pen but I still have several within easy reach regardless of where I am. I also have made sure that all the people I’m around regularly know where they are and how to use them.

Get evaluated for celiac and related disorders. This would be done by a gastroenterologist, which you will likely need a referral from your PCP to see. Given your inability to keep weight on, I would wager that you have some sort of malabsorption issue — the most commonly occurring one being celiacs. Celiac.org has a symptom list that might be helpful. Another one that has more info.

Have your vitamin/mineral levels checked, in particular Vitamin D. Low levels of Vit D can indirectly cause malabsorption problems. There are a handful of other vitamins/minerals that can cause the same thing, but they are almost always related to low D levels. Fix the levels, and you’ll begin to feel better, although you’ll never be able to undo the damage that’s already been done if this is what the issue is.

Try a stomach acid supplement and/or digestive enzymes. Low stomach acid is a relatively unknown problem that can cause malabsorption issues, amongst other things. I use this one because it’s cheap and I’ve yet to find one that works as well. Edit: This one is not vegan, but as I said, I’ve yet to find something that actually works and is vegan. If anyone has a suggestion, let me know. Keep in mind that every person is different, so what works for me might not work for you. For example, I have a friend with the same disorder as me, but these give her an upset stomach and the ones that she takes (don’t recall the brand) don’t do anything for me. If you don’t want to buy anything like this, you can test if this is your issue by taking apple cider vinegar. The usual starting point is a tablespoon taken about 20 minutes after you eat. For me, I found that I needed more and taking it before I eat was often more helpful.

As someone else mentioned, try pre- and probiotics. This is a brand that’s frequently recommended in the zebra, although I’ve known a couple people who felt they’re too strong. Edit: This one is vegan. This is something else that’s been recommended with good success. Two tablespoons daily, usually in the morning, although it’s more than fine to take more. I know at least one person who drinks it rather than water and swears by it. I also give it to my dog with stomach issues, and he drinks it exclusively even though water is also available. An electrolyte replacement would be a good idea as well. LyteShow (Amazon link) is the brand I prefer, but there are several other brands available. Stay away from things like Gatorade/Powerade and other “sports drinks”. While they’re good in theory, most of them are no better than soda.

Do some reading about gastroparesis, mast cell activation syndrome, dysautonomia, and autism in adults. They’re all related, and chances are high that you’ll at least find some insight into how to manage your symptoms even if you don’t find all the answers.

You are not alone, and your symptoms are not unusual. It’s not “all in your head”, nor is it a result of “being picky”. Unfortunately, it is up to you to advocate for yourself and find a medical team that won’t brush you off. In the meantime, I would strongly caution you about changing your diet suddenly. I understand wanting to change it, to be better as quickly as possible, but you can shock your system when there’s underlying issues. Take it slow, find things that work for you, and go from there.

Sooo.. I can't guarantee any single thing to help. I've got a CAG that plucks and is getting better, but it's taken a year of attempting different remedies and a lot of time spent just waiting for them to work. With that said, aloe might help for the wound.. but good luck getting near it. In my experience birds are particularly wary of new people approaching wounds. So, that might be out of the question unless you can somehow drip it onto the cut..

So far as plucking goes, I have had no luck with aloe, but maybe you will. We've used George's Aloe Very Juice in the past.

Two things that have shown the most improvement to the pluckign is a combination of Avicalm twice a day (added to breakfast and dinner) and Featheriffic! only with breakfast.

Both of the aforementioned homeopathic remedies were approved by my vet, but he also warned that if they work they will only be masking any problems. So, it's a good thing that you are taking the poor guy to the vet. :) I hope everything works out for you! My CAG has taken nearly a year to overcome his plucking and after three months of avicalm/featheriffic along with a lot of love he's only just grown in half of his neck feathers. There's hope!

Congratulations on your discovery and success! I also have some undiagnosed eating issues, and found success in an unlikely drink.

Brief background:
I have had eating issues for about 7-8 years now and formerly treated myself using a combinations of prescriptions meds (Nexium and the like) and trees.

The gist for the change in my treatment approach was that I was adverse to being reliant on prescription meds, which I had been for some time, and wanted to try a more natural approach. While trees helped a lot, it was not the appropriate choice to use during regular working days for obvious reasons. Long story short - after much research and sampling of different approaches, I came across aloe juice. I now drink a shot of this every morning when I wake up. Note: I have absolutely no affiliation with this drink maker, except that I am an avid fan of this product.

I would be happy to elaborate more about what I know about aloe juice in general and the different types if anyone is interested. Otherwise, I am just happy to pass along the info. :)

The first peptide cream and ghk serum links are both from amazon. Adding the GHK to the peptide complex would be a good option. It’s been a while since I looked into cosmetic peptides, but the only side effect I’m aware of is that they may increase cell division which brings younger cells to the surface. That’s mostly a good thing, but may leave you more vulnerable to sunburn. You could try BPC topically by adding it to a cream, but I’d recommend the nootroo stable version. I wouldn’t have any confidence in BPC from Amazon.

There is also a solvent called DMSO which acts as a carrier to deliver compounds deeper into the skin and potentially reach the blood stream. It’s sort of weird stuff and burns a little, but you could combine it with GHK or similar peptides to try reaching deeper connective tissue, like knee ligaments. That’s mostly speculation, but DMSO is used in transdermal patches and similar.

u/toplessbooks · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

definitely patch test first, and speak with a professional if you can, but what about a 100% aloe vera. This is the one I use https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HHHZ8FT/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (sorry US Amazon link, but you will get the idea) and it is just aloe, Citric acid (ph balance), potassium sorbate (preservative), Xanthan (thickener), Ascorbic acid (preservative).

You could, if you wanted to avoid any additives, buy something like this, which is an aloe juice meant for drinking, and apply that to your body as well, but it will be pure liquid (hard to apply), and require refrigeration.

Obviously do your own research, but I found a few articles like this one that specifically mentions aloe being safe (and actually beneficial) to use with staph. Science article for sourcing.

Ok I know this doesn't really solve the money problem but I do occasionally use Aloe Vera. But I drink it. This is what I use. I know it's a little pricey, but it comes in a big bottle & I only drink a little at a time (and not even every day). I think it helps, not a life-changer, but it has definitely provided me some relief.

As for an aloe vera gel... I have used it occasionally, and with some brands it makes my skin feel worse. Other times it helps a little but the moisture doesn't stay as long compared to vaseline etc. I'd say stick to a more natural brand, or pure aloe vera gel.

u/waffleso_0 · 1 pointr/bicycling

never had the issue with my bikes shorts, but others. basically, you're nipping the tip with your fabric.. needs to be closer fit. also, get a hold of some raw aloe gel for times when it does this..it will work wonders and its super healthy for your skin and to drink!

I have normal/oily skin, so I've been using it as my main daytime moisturizer this summer, and as my first layer after Curology at night. Totally in love. I can't compare to drug store aloe because i haven't tried any yet, but I'm going to try this Aloe Farms Organic Aloe Vera Gel from Amazon to make DIY sheet masks, because it is cheaper by volume. if i like it better I'll probably still decant it into the Holika Holika bottle because it's so damn cute!

u/Jumping_Jillibean · 2 pointsr/IBSHelp

Try aloe. It’s helped me a ton! I use this one (Lily of the Desert Preservative Free Organic Inner Fillet Aloe Vera Juice, 128 Ounce - Supports Health Digestion https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002V0KOXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_vxMYCbK4FNZMT). I take a gulp every morning and night. Maybe look for a smaller size to see if it helps first. :)

u/mycoldfeet · 7 pointsr/BroMoHousekeeping

Detergent:
I used to make laundry detergent, but don't recommend it any more. Before starting cloth diapers, I did a ton of laundry detergent research and DIY just doesn't have the ingredients to clean clothes properly, long-term.

Hand soap: Dr. Bronner's is a great concentrate for foaming dispensers. I find it too drying for shampoo/ body wash. I add a bit of aloe gel in the winter.

De-greaser: 50/50 Dawn + white vinegar cleans anything greasy (and bathroom soapscum!) amazingly. Keep in a spray bottle; wipe up with hot water and cloth.

Floor cleaner: White vinegar spritz + steam mop deep cleans just about anything. Vinegar won't smell once evaporated, but you can toss lemon rinds in a big jar with the vinegar (soak a few weeks) to help with the smell.

Deodorizer: Cheap vodka (add essential oils if you'd like to add scent). I mist it all over furniture until a bit damp, same for rugs (after spot test)—basically anything that can't be laundered and gets a funky smell over time. Alcohol kills the stench-causing bacteria and evaporates quickly.

u/PanamaRed987 · 1 pointr/NoTillGrowery

I've been searching for aloe vera powder that is cheaper than what is available at Build a Soil. I found this on Amazon.com and seems to be similar to what you purchased. This is made from the whole leaf and not just the gel which is why it's so cheap for how much you get.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008WNUUDY/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_121_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=41GWsSm8uSL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL100_SR100%2C71_&psc=1&refRID=EQ37K7FCEDN40JNQNHEW

Is gel only extraction better than whole leaf as far as benefits to the plant? The only difference I see would be using more of the whole leaf powder each watering than the 200x gel only powder which could negate the cost savings. I ended up with 60 grams of USDA certified gel powder from Amazon for $36. Only a couple dollars saved ordering on Amazon than Build a Soil.

u/lukedeem · 1 pointr/kratom

you are on the right track. One thing that I have learned through the years is that the Human body has a remarkable ability to repair itself, and quickly.

The trick is to supply the body with the right kind of ammo (aka nutrients) and lots of water.

I highly recommend these two products (for you especially, but everyone else too)

I know that both are expensive, but if you can afford these, they are remarkable for healing from the inside out.

u/GetOffMyLawn_ · 3 pointsr/Rosacea

I don't know that it really helps. I find that it is not especially moisturizing by itself. You have to apply it twice a day for a couple of months, so you will need a lot of plants.

There are rosacea safe products that have aloe in them. Or maybe get aloe vera gel that is safe for sunburns. I use Fruit of the Earth on my body in the summer https://www.amazon.com/Fruit-Earth-Aloe-Vera-100/dp/B000052YM0?th=1

You might be able to drink it and calm inflammation that way. If you do go with George's, it has almost no taste. https://www.amazon.com/Georges-Aloe-Vera-Drink-Ounce/dp/B00014EWUO/ref=pd_sim_121_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00014EWUO&pd_rd_r=T05CFD6V200RFGWPJM78&pd_rd_w=Rkbp3&pd_rd_wg=7FRDG&refRID=T05CFD6V200RFGWPJM78&th=1

This is really fucked up though. Upper stomach burning and swollen... without an appointment for 6 months?!!!!!?!!!?! Go to the ER? Do you have urgent care clinics that can order tests? For at least testing for h pylori, which grows in the stomach.

Aloe Vera soothed my stomach when I had gastritis.

George's Aloe Vera, 128 Fluid Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00014EB6O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3CByzb4G9PPDS This stuff is highly refined and is basically water + beneficial aloe compounds. There's also less refined versions, which taste a little bitter & have polysaccharides that are supposedly extra beneficial.
Not sure which type to recommend but aloe is very safe, not contraindicated with any medications or illnesses, and can be extremely soothing.

u/FunGal_in_SoCal · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

Yes. My fave is Aloe Leaf Cherry Berry. You only take about a shot at time. They come in smaller less expensive sizes at places like Sprouts/Henry's, Whole Foods, and similar.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

here. I like mine a little shorter on top and not so spikey. Buzz the sides, it is really in. Go to the best barber you can find, I pay 50$ for my cut and it is worth it. next, spike up the whole thing with aloe jelly (this is what I use]. brush the front off to the side like bangs, leaving the back messy, and the front laying down. It sounds weird but I get a lot of compliments, I also do this haircut daily.

u/TheRedChild · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

There really isn't a wrong one... it should look like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lifeplan-Organic-Aloe-Vera-200ml/dp/B0043K33E8

It comes in clear or green gel, both are the same

u/Pauzzz · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

yep they sure do. but the aloe vera "gel" i have is more liquid than gel like.
This is the aloe gel i bought and these are the dehydrated face masks i bought. Works for me but, of course, YMMV.

u/oeu4 · 14 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

You look amazing! Just a quick suggestion in your routine - there is little to no aloe in Fruit of the Earth gel:

I switched to this kind and notice a significant difference:

https://www.amazon.com/Lily-Desert-Aloe-Vera-Juice/dp/B00028POGA?th=1

This is a common brand. It doesn't really go bad, so if you don't need it every day, the bottle is still good for years and years

I would love to help if any way possible. Sounds like you have the food intake down pat. I did read your entire story. The teen medication started the trend of bad bacterial over good, or the good being killed by antibiotic allowing the bad to overflow. and then other antibacterials hurt your gut bacterial even more later on.

Ill share my story, from 20-30 I drank alchol every night, probably like 10 shots. I also didnt eat well, a lot of processed and fast foods. I drank a lot of energy drinks and downed bags of candy at night. Entire bags of sour patch kids (while going through a oxy opiate controlled habit) this lead to the build up of pain in my stomach and restricted morning pee'ing, and the typical loss of energy... eventually leading me here to learn about Candida (never knew about it) Pain developed around my belly button area, above i

Im going to list my top products that I purchased and have been using within the last 3 weeks that have made me feel better each day forward since taking them (not sure if only one is working better than the rest or all them working together). I moderate the dosing since all at once, so I make sure not to go overboard with all these together. After the first 2 days I experienced die off in the form of stomach rumbling and discomfort and a day of lack of energy. Luckily for me this lasted only about 2 - 4 days.

These products use Herbs and all natural food ingredients (this is very important) no chemicals. I think what you need is a little extra push from these herbs rather than just relying on your body to take care of the candida (which I commend your diet effort!)

Cauti nod in papura. Cand o veni asta mica pe circulaba face dublu karma!

am rasmas in cap cu o tampenie. Ma uitam aseara pe un tub de cosmetica din miriadele de la mine, gel de aloe "double-strength". Dublu ce?

Stai ca am gasit acum pe amazon, nu mai e double, e "maximum"!

I feel for you OP. If you are still in pain get yourself some George's Aloe Vera Juice. I'd say take a sip and hold it in as long as you, keeping contact with the hurt buds before you drink it down. It should take the pain away and heal quicker.
