DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor.

Instead of a regular old doctor, go see a Dermatologist. Not sure if it's available in the Netherlands, but ZocDoc is an excellent way to find a good doctor.

I do martial arts and once in a blue moon, our gym will run rampant with ringworm. I HIGHLY recommend that you keep tubes of Miconazole and Clotrimazole handy to neutralize any early signs in the future. I lather those on ANYTHING that may even potentially be a ringworm. So far, so good.

Your pictures certainly look like ringworm. Skip the home remedies, stick to science.

I really want these I've never been gifted because I'm not on when a lot of contests go on and can't gift right now. [but I got a job today so I might start!] I really would love these cause I work with clay and make charms and they would be so useful. x.x random story of random~

I might be a skin condition. I wouldn't jump straight to vagisil but instead try an OTC antifungal made for athlete's foot/jock itch. This stuff is like 1/10 the cost of what you'd normally buy in the store for the same active ingredients and it comes in a giant tube

If that doesn't do the job after a week or so, talk to a doctor.

u/Mrs_Queequeg · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

It could be seborrheic dermatitis, especially considering moisturizing isn't helping, and it's occurring on the oily parts of your face. You could visit your dermatologist, or try some home remedies for it. I personally use this antifungal cream, but I also had success with salicylic acid (before I became allergic to it D:), and vitamin C serums.

u/napjerks · 1 pointr/NailFungus

It might be worth a try but it doesn't say what the active ingredient is so I would be skeptical. It says the product works in only 4 weeks. that's not long enough for nails to completely grow out so I'd also be skeptical of that. Unfortunately there is no quick fix. It says to soak the nails first. So if you give it a try, only soak the infected nails. Don't soak your healthy nails in the same water or solution because it can cause it to spread to them.

I would have more confidence in something like ProClearz because it clearly states it's tolnaftate (same as Tinactin). Not an overnight fix either. But used consistently it works well for some people.

Whatever you go with just give it several months to work. Don't be discouraged, we all have this problem here.

This looks like tinea. Treat with topical antifungal twice daily for 7 to 10 days. Keep the area very dry - perhaps with an antifungal powder after showering and changing clothes if it becomes moist - to keep it away.

u/abby89 · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddicts

Hey there! Is there any accompanying redness? If so, it sounds like it could be sebhorraic dermatitis. I have it pretty bad in the folds of my nose. My derm recommended this ointment and it's helped get it under control, though there is still some redness.

u/BurnTheWholeHouse · 15 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Since others have commented that it may be fungal, one way to find out quickly is to put Lamisil cream on it and see if the redness goes down. You can find it in any grocery/drugstore near you. (We used it for my daughter’s acne and saw improvement after one treatment.)

u/nyersa · 3 pointsr/3DScanning

It depends on the precision you need to get and if this is a one off or will be something you do quite a bit. Either way, no matter what scanner you decide to use (well, excluding things like CT scanning) you will need to do some surficial prep to get the good results. I like using this stuff. Also, you will find that the bolt holes themselves won't scan well with structured light or laser scanners and you will need to spend some time manually adding them back in after your scan is complete.

I did a bit of Googling. It's not just scientists who diaphanise and stain their samples, amateur taxidermists do it too, so it's feasible.

I found this link. Let's break down what you'd need:

Hydrogen Peroxide can be bought in any large chemist's e.g. Boots, Superdrug.

Potassium Hydroxide can be got quite cheaply at the linked website.

Lab Grade 95% Ethanol has been denatured, which means it's poisonous and so can be sold without alcohol tax. That website's in America, but it should be about a similar price, although getting lab grade ethanol as a member of the public could be tricky.

Glacial acetic acid (anhydrous acetic acid) isn't massively expensive. Again that website's only in America (Sigma Aldrich seem to have discontinued glacial acetic acid for some reason) but it looks to be about £12

Alcian Blue for the cartilage - 10g for £112.

Alizarin Red for the bones - 25g for about £60.

Trypsin is an enzyme and you're looking at about £35 for 100µg.

Glycerin can be picked up in a chemist's quite cheaply although the Japanese guy linked above seems to recommend using medical grade glycerin instead of regular glycerin if you spill some of his artwork.

Sodium borate or "borax" can also be gotten ahold of quite cheaply from a chemist's or supermarket.

Thymol is about £20.

Then you'll need pipettes, syringes and lab ware to do this, having already spent well over £250 on reagents that won't last very long and will probably be wasted on the first couple of attempts because you have to make buffers and if you don't quite get each step right the specimen falls apart. Also it will take several weeks.

Alternatively you could just buy a pre-diaphonised wet sample, like this diaphonised rat that is selling for about £65, although you can't really ship wet samples out of a country so if you're not in America you'll have to keep searching. You know, all this searching has kinda made me want to buy a wet sample for decoration.

My boyfriend has been battling this, we found a soap on Amazon that really clears it right up. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LR94EXM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

He’s also discovered my blow dryer and has been playing with that when naked, so there’s another idea.

u/Theoson · 1 pointr/AskDocs

What am I to do about sweating? I work out every week and usually end up sweating for an hour or two straight.

I've been using this spray:
https://www.amazon.com/Lotrimin-Antifungal-Miconazole-Clinically-Effective/dp/B0039NN81S

u/Spongi · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Twice a day take a hot wet rag and clean your feet thoroughly. Make sure you exfoliate well. Then apply a liberal amount of miconazole cream and massage it in.

Symptoms should clear up pretty quick but keep applying for several weeks to make sure it's completely 100% dead.

u/vanel · 1 pointr/popping

Think you're right, years ago I had this after some wax got impacted, had to use Lotrimine drops to get rid of it.

u/Purple-Leopard · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

My Pocketderm derm told me to buy this OTC stuff for it, I can't remember what it was exactly but it wasn't a cold sore like I thought it was. It comes and goes for me and I'm about to buy it. I hate it so much.

u/8ballposse · 1 pointr/bjj

Get the dry powder version of what you are going to use. The powder will keep the area drier, obviously, but this has a major impact compared to the creams which keep it moist. I’m learning this right now right now.

Also experimenting with this sulfur soap but not sure of the results yet.

u/n0t_5hure · 2 pointsr/surfing

jock itch is fungal, which thrives in moist environments. after you shower, dry the affected region completely, and apply Zeasorb AF, which kills jock itch fungus (as well as athlete's foot fungus.)

u/mrsquirter420 · 2 pointsr/ABDL

I use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0011DQMHA/ otherwise I get wicked jock itch.

u/BitchLibrarian · 0 pointsr/JUSTNOMIL

Buy a jar of this and just sprinkle liberally in your boots. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mycota-Athletes-Foot-Powder-70g/dp/B001DZOKFW&ved=2ahUKEwi75IeowOjeAhUpAcAKHUHgBOUQFjAAegQIABAB&usg=AOvVaw1_cVZN2KrcvN9bzjDKqfS-

When she asks if she can borrow them say "of course MIL, anytime... Oh but I'm treating a fungal foot infection at the moment and it always seems worse after I've had my ski boots on..."

u/heidevolk · 2 pointsr/Fitness

I thought I was the only one. What metal bar are you using? My barbell is black zinc plated (rogue ohio bar), and I think I might be slightly allergic to it or the patina that has formed in the center. My spots usually worsen after front squats, around the rack position on my collar bones.

I've used this to make them disappear over time and it seems to work.

With all of that said, I really should see a dermatologist about it, since my mom (nurse), and brother (doctor) both didn't know what it was.

You could probably skip the cost of a walk-in and just buy some clotrimazole anti fungal cream. There's no harm in using the antifungal cream, even if you don't have a fungal infection. And if you do have a fungal infection, your doctor will likely prescribe clotrimazole anyways. I'd skip the middle man, if I were you. It typically takes 5-7 days to for anti fungal creams to work, by the way, so don't be disheartened if the infection isn't going away at day 4. https://www.amazon.com/Clotrimazole-Antifungal-Compare-Lotrimin-Ingredient/dp/B013PGADAW/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1510942845&sr=8-3&keywords=clotramizole&dpID=51htkGxN3DL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1
