1. Doctor's Best Stabilized R-Lipoic Acid with BioEnhanced Na-RALA, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Vegan, Helps Maintain Blood Sugar Levels, 100 mg 60 Veggie Caps (DRB-00123)
- DOCTOR’S BEST STABILIZED R-LIPOIC ACID CONTAINS BIOENHANCED NA-RALA - the sodium salt of R-Lipoic acid (RLA). BioEnhanced Na-RALA is in its natural and stabilized form of RLA that won’t degrade at high temperatures, and is more bioavailable and biologically active. Lipoic acid (LA) plays an important role in glucose metabolism and energy production. LA is both fat and water soluble. D-Biotin is an integral part of enzyme activity necessary for the breakdown and conversion of fatty acids and carbohydrates into energy.
- POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANT – Lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant that supports mitochondrial function, helps protect against oxidative stress and maintains cellular energy. Supports nerve health, glucose metabolism and cardiovascular health.
- CELLULAR ENERGY - R-lipoic acid is made by the body in our mitochondria, the cells that provide energy. Protecting mitochondria from free radicals, R-Lipoic Acid supports energy at the cellular level.
- BETTER ABSORPTION - R-Lipoic Acids includes the active “R” form of lipoic acid, stable and easier for the body to absorb. Improved stability from this formula is the cause for better absorption and bioavailability.

alright here goes my exhaustive list of stuff that goes into my preworkout! i love to research the stuff that works, and then experiment to see how effectively they work for me, especially on keto.

currently experimenting with:
phew! making this list made me realize how much time and effort i put into the trial and error of my preworkout. of course, i supplement a lot of this stuff with my other meals as well. as you can see, i'm very big on supplements, biohacking, and nootropics. i read up a lot on research in my spare time.
I've used greens products for a long time and love them. I've used over a dozen different kinds, but some of the ones I liked most are:
Vitamineral Green
NOW Fruits and Greens Phytofoods
Amazing Grass
Green Vibrance
The Vitamineral Green is, in my opinion, the best green powder on the market. It's like they stuffed the Green Giant in a wood chipper and bottled the chips. When you open the glass bottle that it comes in a waft of extremely fine green dust billows over the lip of the bottle, like you're opening some science fiction bio-hazard containment cylinder. Way cool. Seriously, one quarter teaspoon of this will turn a blender full of fruits dark green. The ingredient profile is twice as good as any other powder I've seen, with the possible exception of Pure Synergy. In my personal experience, there are two downsides to this stuff. One, it tastes like you're drinking swamp water at first. Eventually you get used to it and the bite goes out of drinking it, but the first week or two is rough when you're getting on a routine of it. Second, this is the only powder I've ever tried that genuinely gave me a cleansing reaction. I know, this is seen as a good thing by some people. I see the results of the cleanse AFTER IT'S OVER as a good thing. There is nothing good at all about a cleanse while it is in progress. Let's just say that for the first 4 or 5 days of using this powder I was the Grand Poobah of the Porcelain Palace.
The NOW Fruits and Greens Phytofoods is the one I'm using at the moment. It's sort of gritty, but the flavor is surprisingly good because they add natural berry flavoring, and it has fruits in addition to greens (hence the name). There is some lecithin and maca in it as filler, but both of these ingredients have health benefits of their own, so it's not too bad. NOW is a very reputable company, and the one time I had a problem with one of their products (not this one) they immediately sent me a new one free of charge. That's a big plus for this powder in my book.
The Amazing Grass is, as I'm sure you can tell by the name, mainly grass. There isn't a whole lot of genuine "superfood" type stuff here, but everything in it is still very good for you. So even though it is more diluted with fluff than the other ones, it still tastes great, especially the chocolate flavor. In fact, I liked the flavor of Amazing Grass more than any of the other powders I've tried. It's relatively cheap when you buy it in bulk off of their website. They have this huge 100 serving container which is pretty awesome because it comes with it's own little scooper. That, along with the taste, are why I'd recommend it as a beginner greens powder. If you like it and find that you're taking it regularly with no problems, then move up to something more concentrated.
The Green Vibrance is similar to the Vitamineral Green in that it has almost as many good ingredients and it is a very dark green, finely ground powder, but I didn't feel the same "oomph" when I took it. That could just be me, though. It is still a great powder and I could tell that I didn't have as much energy throughout the day when I forgot to take it. It does have a good upside that none of the other powders have: it stays suspended in water the best. That is actually a very good thing because it means that the powder is finely ground and so absorbs into your bloodstream more efficiently.
I've never heard about the Catie's Organic Greens, perhaps I'll have to try it. I hope my amateur reviews help you!
*Edited for spelling
I'm going through the same thing right now. I recently started using HabitRPG as a fun little way to keep track of things I should be doing and rewarding myself when I keep on task. Here are some of the little rituals I've started doing:
Also, set up a list of general to-dos, like getting a haircut, talking to a family member/friend that you haven't connected with in a while, or a twee little project from Pinterest that looks easy and will help organize your stuff (I have a corkboard necklace display and a magnetic makeup board on mine). When you're thinking "Man, I wish I had something to do right now," you can go to that list and cross something off.
Hopefully there's something on here that you or someone else will be able to use.
I haven't used that one but I think I've seen other users say it's good. I use this one:
http://www.amazon.com/TUDCA-by-Brawn-Nutrition/dp/B00DXFSKIS/ref=pd_sim_hpc_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1V80BPSQYZSTB422YSYV
I know that this one is good because I actually allowed myself to cycle so long with orals and tren that I ended up with yellow eyes. This was before I knew about TUDCA. So anyway, after being scared to death and doing serious research on learned about TUDCA and bought a lot off amazon. I took 4 pills a day for about 2 months and then got blood work. My liver values where better than they were than my very first blood test which was done before I ever touched a single AAS. So anyway, this is how I know this stuff is good stuff. I feel like I have before and after blood work plus yellow eyes to know this stuff is the bomb. I now always use it on cycle and have used with heavy doses of tren (1 G a week) plus sdrol and I'm still good to go.
Last reply before I need to get out of the house. Yes, fighting hunger can be tough, especially in the last hour or two of the 16-hour fast. I fight it by drinking water and coffee (not to excess, just a cup when hunger begins), and by staying busy with work to keep my mind off it. [Edit: R-Lipoic acid also has proven appetite-suppressant, weight loss effects.] It gets easier with time, as your body learns to accept a certain level of hunger, which sometimes even passes on its own. That, I believe, is a function of the body's improved handling of insulin levels. Just keep in mind that the human body didn't evolve to be constantly fed. For most of our evolutionary development, we experienced frequent but temporary levels of hunger as we hunted and gathered, before agriculture gave us a more steady supply of food, so remember that enduring a bit of hunger is actually much more healthy and natural than feeding the sensation the moment it pops up. After just a few weeks of intermittent fasting, contrary to myth that "breakfast is the most important meal," I felt noticeable improvements in energy and mental clarity throughout the day.
For my eating window, I don't bother trying to eat a commensurate amount of calories. I just eat normal-sized meals, without eating excess carbs (I'm not fully keto) in order to avoid blood sugar spikes and crashes. I have lunch at the end of my 16-hour window, then a protein bar or some trail mix for a light snack mid-afternoon, then a normal, healthy dinner. When I have lunch the next day depends on when I eat dinner (+16 hours, of course). I consume absolutely no food or sugar during the fast period (drink coffee black), as this will cancel out the benefits of the fast.
Good luck and take care.
I dont know about leaky gut, but I have more energy and feel better doing keto (9 months in). I will say that I started doing supplements as well that have made some differences. I take a daily multi, potassium, and magnesium.
I do sleep a bit better since keto but what has made a HUGE difference is tart cherry extract. I got it to reduce muscle soreness and downtime between workouts (major difference) but apparently it also improves sleep. Massively for me. 45 minutes to an hour after taking it I get fairly tired and I no longer wake up 3-4 times a night. I sleep 6-8 hours straight without interruption and it's incredible.
This is the brand I swear by: Tart Cherry Concentrate - Made... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TP54IFO?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
Also started taking electrolytes as well. Started spending 10 hours or so a week at the gym (2 hours 5 days) and just felt super lethargic after workouts and even on days off. I put one cap full in my water and take it to the gym with me and it has made an immense difference. I get in more intense cardio and I dont feel tired after working out either.
This is what I use: LyteShow - Electrolyte Concentrate for Rapid Rehydration - NO Sugars, NO Additives - 40 Servings (With Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EISFBYA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_bBz-BbC22GB0S
Hope this helps. Good luck!
There is an entire chapter devoted to CoQ10 in the book It Starts with the Egg. I'm not typing out an entire chapter and honestly I'm too lazy to take pictures of every page and upload to imgur. I will however give you a brief TL;DR.
The TL;DR looks something like this: CoQ10 is found in every cell in the body and plays a role in making energy in the body as well as recyclying vitamin E, an antioxidant. There is a theory that part of why older eggs are lower quality is because of declines in the function of the mitochondria in the egg. The egg doesn't have enough energy to properly during key points in cell replication and it leads to some errors. CoQ10 is thought to help give the mitochondria the boost they need to provide enough energy for proper division/replication thereby reducing the number of errors.
Here is a quote from the book:
>Research has shown that human embryos with poorly functioning mitochondria are more likely to have disrupted chromosomal processing machinery and chaotic chromosome distribution. Other research shows that if you intentionally damage mitochondria in mouse eggs, the ATP level goes down, and the machinery that separates chromosomes disassembles and malfunctions. As discused earlier in the chapter, errors in the number of chromosome copies are the single greatest cause of failure of embryos to survive the first week, implantation failures, and early pregnancy loss.
The book also says that:
>Based on all the scientific knowledge about the importance of fully functioning mitochondria to egg and embryo quality, it stands to reason that anything we can do to boost mitochondrial function and help eggs produce more energy will improve egg quality and embryo viability. Research suggests that CoQ10 does just that.
The book also recommends supplementing CoQ10 in the form ubiquinol not ubiquinone. And the recommend dosage is between 100-300mg per day, taken with food for increased absorption.
I really like the book as it seems to more or less just be a compilation of the recent research (as of when the book was published in 2014) that is presented in an easier to read/understand format. There are 45 citations in the CoQ10 chapter alone. Granted some of that is citing basic information on what CoQ10 is, it's role in the body and such. Not all of those citations are related to fertility. But still.
ETA: I don't know if you're a member of a warehouse club like Sam's or Costco but I know that CoQ10 is way cheaper at Costco than I've found it pretty much anywhere else. I won't say it was cheap still though. It was still around $30 for 90 200mg capsules. This is about the cheapest I've found on Amazon.
I have brain fog and would love to try this. Do you have a supplement company you recommend? I'm thinking of doing a combo of Tumeric, Ginger, and BCM-95, based on comments. Thoughts?
Edit: Just saw your site. Awesome. Do you think this would be better for brain fog or would you recommend the Tumeric/Ginger thing? (I take Effexor so that might impact this).

Definitely get a wrist brace, they will support your tendons and make a world of difference. I like these ones.
Also it's worth doing some exercises every day. I get tennis elbow and other tendon problems now and again and use a Theraband flexbar. There's a flexbar exercise called the Tyler Twist which is good for the tendons. The bar comes with a booklet showing a lot of exercises you can do with it.
Finally, consider taking astaxanthin every day. It's an antioxident with anti-inflammatory properties which really helps with tendon problems. You might also get some good results by taking a turmeric supplement (or adding it liberally to your food).
Hey yeah I see where you're coming from and from this perspective I agree. But might I mention Pine needle tea & Pine oil is actually much more of a super food than people realize? It is increadible for your immune system and it does actually help out alot with asthma (which my brother has)
"Native Americans used pine oils to treat lung infections. Today, pine oils are used mainly as an anti-infectious, antimicrobial agent in colds, flu, urinary and viral infections. Pine needle oil has been used to reduce or eliminate the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory infections, and for digestive disorders."

Protein isolate and [cereal](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CS9ZUQ/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_ueKQybD58BNE8 like Frosted Flakes). It's probably good to throw in some antioxidants like eating a handful of berries, spinach, or a cap of ALA.
If that's still too complicated, then just down a mix of maltodextrin and wazy maize. Also good to include some BCAAs, creatine, and antioxidants (e.g. ALA) into the mix as well.
You should get some Coenzyme Q10, Omega-3 Fatty Acids (ie fish oil or algae oil), Astaxanthin, and lots and lots of Garlic. Your heart and cardiovascular system will thank you.
Also make sure to exercise (not while on stimulants) regularly and vigorously (heart rate is up for a while), be mindful of your salt intake, be mindful of your trans/saturated fats (processed foods), and try to download/use a meditation app like Headspace.
For what it’s worth, I bought this specific one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TP54IFO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_cDz6BbWQQ7X1S
I take one every night about an hour before bed. It definitely took 5+ days of consecutive use before I noticed significant effects.
I sleep better/feel better now than I did when I was on trazadone, lunesta, melatonin, OTC sleep aids, etc. Everyone’s chemistry is different, keep trying new (healthy) remedies & don’t give up hope!
Yeah they're a little lower than what's recommended but they'll work. They've got the vitamins but are lacking magnesium, which helps with jaw-clenching. And TUMS taken when you drop will extend the roll.
Also get some antioxidants like this to take before: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0013OXBH6/0781-20
The antioxidants will help you feel less fried the next day.
Until July?! That seems weird. That's a test that takes hours at the most.
Honestly I'd check out amazon and either order the extract juice or just the pills. Also, Vitamin-C is shown to be really good for gout sufferers (like 1500+ mg a day). At this point you really want to do everything you can to increase kidney function to flush as much UA out everyday.
Tart Cherry Extract 1000 mg 120 Capsules - Manufactured in a USA Based GMP Certified and FDA Inspected Facility and Third Party Tested for Purity. Guaranteed!! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013RG7C1I/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_FORjxbQX675DX
I take this one from amazon. I don't remember why now, I think from my research it had good reviews and was one of the less expensive ones. No side effects. I take 600mg (3 pills broken up into 2 in the morning and 1 at night), hubs takes 200mg. I agree with u/sciencejoy that you might not need it, but it's pretty universally recommended and it can't hurt (except the bank account because it's not cheap).
These two are ones that I've personally used and have faith in the brand itself as very good. Not saying there are not others that are just as good, just that these two I can vouch for personally.

It is part of the subscribe and save program which is awesome because I note how often I need them shipped (every 3 months, 4 months, etc.) and it ships them then to me automatically.
ALA/ALC have a short halflife in the body. Half hour to an hour, depending on the quality. Na-R-ALA is the best, and lasts much longer (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000I4C19G/0781-20)
The brain needs these chemicals (and antioxidants) in ready supply to help prevent oxidative stress, leading to neurotoxicity.
r/Nootropics may be able to help. Helped me. Also https://www.bravermantest.com/ . Huge change in quality of life for me, depression and anxiety gone after using these two resources. Sometimes shit can go wrong in your brain, and along with exercise and a healthy diet, you might still need something else to fix it. Certain supplements can help you get back to a healthy balance. Good way to avoid prescription medications and SSRIs, shit like that.

Try some Ashwagandha first, people have been taking it for literally thousands of years, reduces anxiety and there's a big difference between when I'm taking it and when I'm not. You can't get addicted to or be reliant on it. This is what I got but maybe check out Nootropics depot. They do a bunch of testing on the products that they sell and are way more trustworthy.

> Whenever I'm having a blue kind of day, chugging a diet pepsi is a go-to for me, so I wouldn't shy away from caffeine if you're just having a low-energy day for no reason that you can figure out and then treat it using something healthier. Sometimes you just stayed up a little too late or something.
Forgot to mention this, but drink a glass of green tea on most work days.

I've also been skeptical of Lion's Mane and have seen conflicting things about it. What effects have you noticed from it?
Thanks!
Ok so it could be depression and it could be something else. Perhaps it’s not low T if you’re fitness and diet regimen is in check. Diet most inportabtly. Try a test booster if you haven’t already. With those symptoms they’ll likely recommend you to a psychiatrist and I don’t believe in that type of medicine anymore unless it pertains to extreme mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder ect.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0157EJZGI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_r-roDb4KDY61H
If possible look into that and a CBD supplement. Those two medicines helped me with my ADHD and it’s almost non existent anymore. Worth looking into. Wish the best for you man. Persevere and overcome!
I generally just take the most potent Ashwagandha I can find. You need to be careful though, because it can cause thyroid problems, which can lead to arrhythmias.
Here's an example of a supposedly "most potent" brand I use https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Ashwagandha-Superior-Absorption-Supplement/dp/B077TVZH1K/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=most+potent+ashwagandha&qid=1557058169&s=gateway&sr=8-3
But, because supplements aren't regulated, it's difficult to tell when one brand is truly stronger than another. For example I use to use these https://www.amazon.com/HERBAL-Premium-Organic-Ashwagandha-BioPerine/dp/B07HYHDMW8/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=ashwagandha+ksm+66&qid=1557058235&s=gateway&sr=8-9 and I could swear they increased my libido more than the other brand, even though they're supposedly "weaker".
For the first brand I take 1 a day, for the 2nd brand I took 2 a day.
its a few things, acid reflux and your gaba receptors. Dihydromyricetin can help http://www.amazon.com/Dihydromyricetin-Scientifically-Hangovers-Naturally-Obtained/dp/B00CX60CMA/
that along with some NAC for your liver can pretty much prevent hangovers all together. For the acid reflux can always take an antacid.

You can get this stuff from amazon:
Alpha Lipoic Acid - Amazon US; Amazon DE
Chelated Magnesium - Amazon US; Amazon DE
It is not that expensive and its point is to help your body with the side effects of the drug.
What you are most likely noticing is the effect it has on mitochondria. These kind of compounds that stimulate the mitochondria should be present in everyone's stack as a baseline before adding in more nootropics.
Life Extension Super Ubiquinol Coq10 with Biopqq Softgels, 30 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DBYI6RQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mAogzbX2W0ZG5
This is one I just recently ordered and will experiment with daily. It has CoQ10, Shilajit and PQQ.
This explains it a little more.
Edit: I remember reading studies about N-acetyl Cysteine helping drink rats metabolize alcohol. It looks like they've made it into an anti-redness supplement, which is use at your own risk because the supplement industry is pretty much unregulated in the US. But the redness is the buildup up of acetaldehyde, so no matter what you're likely doing more damage to your liver than your non-glowy friends drinking the same amount. I doubt topical products would help.
Oh my God. You perfectly described something I was getting back in August. I found that avoiding wheat and taking astaxanthin + turmeric/ginger has alleviated it completely.
I buy this one. It’s $32 for 120 and you can save some % if you do auto refill on Amazon.
I take it as a supplement. 2 Pills/day
BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin – 50 ct – 12mg Original High Potency One Per Day Formula - Supports Joint, Skin, & Eye Health Naturally –A Super-Antioxidant Grown in Hawaii https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006X1DCVO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FKWZAbWRZ97QH
ALA in it's alpha form isn't the best product to take. You end up pissing out most of it. It doesn't absorb well at all. Ever notice your urine stinks when you take it? R- Lipoic Acid is absorbed much better.
R-Lipoic Acid This is the one I take. I started taking it for the very reason you claimed, it helps when you overdue a carb here or there and with me being hypoglycemic and occasionally having bouts of reactive hypoglycemia (esp when I eat to much protein) it helps keep that under control. I keep taking it because of the antioxidants benefits.
I would go for the bioastin 12 mg one unless you want to take 4 mg 3 times a day (12 mg is the "more effective" dose)
https://smile.amazon.com/BioAstin-Hawaiian-Astaxanthin-12mg-50ct/dp/B006X1DCVO
Just came back from the bar actually. I'm trying this for the first time/bottle. I've had varied outcomes over my past few outings, but there have also been variables such as not eating much/carbs, time interval in taking the tablets before drinking, and drinking alcohols with varied %'s.
The directions suggest taking 2 pills an hour prior to drinking, and I initially tested the limits by taking them only immediately before drinks or only taking 1 pill. My latest iteration has brought me to following the instructions as well as the follow up of taking 2 more at the bar, which seemed to work tonight.
I think this stuff is similar to the elixir that was spammed here a few weeks back, but at least it's in a more portable pill form.
This is also supposed to be better than antacids because it doesn't just cover up the symptoms, but it provides your body the organic chems it needs to break down the alcohol.
Can report back when I've exhausted trials, just ordered another bottle since it only comes 30 in one.
Looks like the sleeping mask is all I've got to add then. But it's mostly because my wife is up way later than I am reading so I use it to block out her light. If it weren't for that I'd just use the blackout blinds.
A friend of mine swears by these tart cherry softgels and says it helps them to sleep the night. I tried them and didn't notice any effect, but just in case it works for you: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TP54IFO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

> In a breakthrough preliminary study in mice, the combination of CoQ10 and shilajit produced a 56% increase in cellular energy production in the brain — 40% better than CoQ10 alone. In muscle there was a 144% increase, or 27% better than CoQ10 alone.57 Pharmacologyonline. 2009;1:817-25.
There's not a snowballs chance in hell Asprey's bullshit is going to beat that, and for double the price. It's depressing people can't do their own research to find this stuff out. It literally took me like 20 minutes to find all that.
This 'Havasu Nutrition' brand is from the same people as the 'Zhou Nutrition' brand. They get hundreds and hundreds of Verified Purchase five star reviews on all of their listings.
This is the most suspect offender: https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Brain-Function-Support-Scientifically/product-reviews/B0157EJZGI/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_sr?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=avp_only_reviews&sortBy=recent&pageNumber=1&filterByStar=all_stars
Sometimes they will get over 10 5-star Verified reviews in a single day on that listing.
There is no way that these reviews are from any kind of 'conventional' promotion. These reviews are either fake, or they've found a way to manipulate the Verified Purchase tag (maybe sending the money via PayPal in advance). I lean toward the latter since they are doing a ton of volume and probably wouldn't want to risk the account with fake reviews. Although, maybe that's why they've diversified with the second brand.
These guys have basically built a Verified review machine. I would advise them not to fly too close to the sun, as it's obvious these 'Verified' reviews aren't truly Verified.
