Hey! My parents are expats in Taiwan so I've become somewhat of an expert lol. Do you know what month you'll be visiting? Taiwan gets typhoons yearly so it can be pretty rainy in the summer and some areas may get floods. Another thing to plan for would be the high humidity- tight, restrictive clothing as well as polyester/non-breathable fabrics are not suggested to say the least. I find myself wearing a lot of breezy cotton dresses in the summer. A product that's really popular in that area of the world is Shiseido Sea Breeze which is a powder deodorant and antiperspirant with slightly cooling properties. You can apply it anywhere on your body other than your face and believe me when I say you'll need it! You can find it on Amazon. I would also buy or plan on buying mosquito repellent especially if you're planning on doing any outdoor activities, as the mosquitos there can be particularly ruthless. I've had trouble finding proper American bug spray there so now I always pack my own in my checked luggage.

As for activities, I would DEFINITELY plan on hitting a few (at the very least!) night markets while you're there! Most every neighborhood and city has one and they're usually open from 7/8ish to very late at night and it seems like all of Taiwan goes out at night. The nightlife is awesome to say the least! Street food is fantastic as well and I'm a huge fan of stinky tofu, shaved ice, boba milk tea, papaya milk, the list goes on. I'm not sure if you have any dietary restrictions but there are plenty of vegetarians in Taiwan because of Buddhism, but if you request anything vegetarian, be sure to say that you'd still like garlic, chives, and onions in the dish because Buddhists cannot have those and they'll assume you're Buddhist if you're vegetarian! If you're not a very adventurous eater, there is still a lot of Western style food (it's really popular among the younger generation) and as well as Western/American restaurants. I always love trying out the special Taiwanese dishes from McDonald's as I do in every country I visit :) Honestly I find the wide variety of food to be one of my favorite things about the country and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

As far as places go, there are a million awesome places to visit. One such place is Tamsui, pronounced DanSway, there's a promenade by the water that couples like to stroll down during the sunset and a short ferry you can take that goes pretty fast. Two other must see places are Jiufen and Houtong Cat Village. Jiufen is an old town set in the mountains with narrow alleyways and tons of tea houses and it kind of resembles somewhere out of a Miyazaki film! It's beautiful and mysterious but if you plan on going, go during the weekday as the weekends are more packed than Disneyland so it takes all of the magic out. Houtong Cat Village is a few miles down the road from Jiufen and like the name suggests, is a village full of cats. It's one of my favorite memories but I think others in my group who aren't cat lovers didn't really love it as much lol. One thing to note is the way proper names are written and pronounced in Taiwan can be vastly different. I believe there are a few different romanization systems in place, and this also depends on the area of the country.

Taiwan is a super safe country and there's not one road that I wouldn't walk by myself at 3 AM. The people are incredibly friendly and always willing to help you out. The subway is really efficient and clean and most public transportation within Taipei will be in English as well. Taxis are really inexpensive and I will frequently take them when going within cities. If you're exploring more of the country outside of Taipei, the regular and high speed trains are awesome! You can get from one end of the country to the other (say, Taipei to Kaohsiung) in less than 90 minutes. The last time I went, I took the train from Taipei to Taitung (the east coast is absolutely gorgeous, highly recommend!) and from there hopped on a ferry to Green Island and rented scooters! Fun fact: Green Island has one of the few saltwater hot springs in the world! You literally sit in a hot spring in the ocean!

I have to stop myself now because I've literally written an entire novel, but as you can see, I love Taiwan! I hope this helped and if you have any questions or would like more tips and recs, feel free to message me!

hey hey! it's funny because i went through the same problem.

I've been sweating from my armpits, back and chest for like 15 years.

5 years ago i discovered Driclor roll on (and certain dri is my go to actually), and i dont sweat from the armpits anymore :)

during those years i did try to roll on the roll on my back (unsuccessfully), and i did it on my torso but it didnt really help. too much area to cover.

then last year i tried the sweatblock wipes on my back: super hard to apply: did not work well either and i gave up.

now 2 weeks ago i found out about a spray (like you made with your driclor roll): i've been applying it to my torso and it pretty much worked. im plannig on applying a bit more in the next few days and maybe next week, and then see how long i go withtout sweating, but yes it does work.

now for my back! I managed to spray it on my lower back successfully, and when i go for a run now, my tshirt is drenched only in the top part of my back so yes it works!

I cannot manage to spray it on my upper and middle back though which is super annoying, but im going to ask a friend to do it for me in a couple days. it's embarassing, but he also sweats a lot so im sure he'll understand. im 99% sure it'll stop me from sweating so im excited.

only problem is how to apply it when my friend isnt here, ill have to figure this out...

here is the product i bought: there are other similar ones:
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00474JDJE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

sorry it's on amazon.FR but at least you can google similar products for your country

and pleaaaaseee if you find a way to spray that thing on your upper back please let me know how haha

good luck:)

When I was in my teens I used to get a bit of a rash from using sticks as well (forget which brand specifically but I think it was degree). That ended up just stopping on its own. Since I always used to sweat a lot I’d rub on a good amount each time even up to about a year ago when I first got certain dri. By “a good amount” im saying like up and down 2, maybe three times if it was a hot day. My point is that it’s possible you’re allergic to some of the common ingredients found in all these antiperspirants.

So I’d recommend giving a natural antiperspirant a shot. A quick search gave me Tom’s of Maine and they say specifically that it is “non irritating”. I personally can’t speak to the quality of this but read a few of the Amazon reviews (link I gave is to amazon) and even just submit the question about if people who have received rashes from other deodorants tried this and does it really not irritate them.

I wouldn’t say you have to settle on being the sweaty guy just yet. A few decades ago, yeah, but now there are so many smaller companies that are around that specifically cater to people who don’t like or can’t use the mass produced products that most of the population uses.

As for certain dri, I would recommend it for most people in a heartbeat but since I got irritation from it (albeit from overuse) I don’t want to say “yes absolutely use it, I’ll be great.” It May end up irritating you like the others did. But if the irritation wasn’t an issue, I’d highly recommend it. The weather recently became warmer where I live and I’m sweating anytime I’m outside but I haven’t once felt or seen pit stains or even my shirts being slightly damp and I’ve been checking a time or two a day. The key thing is really to just use it very sparingly. It feels like it’s not enough because you’re afraid it won’t work but if you trust that it will, then you’ll have dry arms and no irritation.

Btw, I still put on a light amount of a stick antiperspirant every morning. Just gives me a bit more reassurance.

TLDR: id suggest getting a natural deodorant and/or one that specifically says that it doesn’t irritate (like the one in the link I put above. Certain dri has been great for me and while I had irritation as a teen sometimes, I havent had it recently so I can’t say whether certain dri, when the appropriate amount is used, will give it irritation or not. If I were you, I’d give it a shot if the natural ones don’t work but it could give you irritation. But there are so many small companies that are popping up to provide products to niche consumers so I wouldn’t stop looking if the natural antiperspirant and/or certain dri don’t work for you. I think you’ll find something in due time.

If you have a hairy back, there are now grooming tools to easily reach your back. I'm just a hairy guy and have been. Hair on your chest is one thing, but the back is another. This is especially true when it gets hot out; shaving my back made me sweat a bit less back there. So, I used this one:
BRO SHAVER Back Hair Shaver, Uses Standard Double Edge (DE) Safety Razor Blades, Stainless Steel Bolts, Cheap refills, Blades cost pennies, 15 razors included, Do-it-yourself https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JB4UQ7C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-adQzb2AD37W9

It's durable, easy to use, and comes with an assortment of extra blades. I suggest putting down a towel underneath you, as well as a paper towel in the sink to help catch hair.

If you sweat, even when using deodorant, use the hardcore overnight stuff. I have used a few different brands, with this being the latest one:

Purax Antiperspirant Roll On Extra Strong https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W9OUCQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ZcdQzb59WHY2P

It lasts quite a long time overall and definitely helps with the pits. My pits get bad - very bad. At work I wear a uniform with a light blue shirt, so it's totally obvious if my arms move upward. Lucky for me, my arms are pretty big (humblebrag), so it blocks it out when they're down. These roll on antiperspirants make the sweat minimal or nothing. Take notice, they may irritate the skin, especially when first using.

Use facial moisturizer. After every shower I take I use a simple facial moisturizer I got from CVS. It's made for men (that's probably just an advertisement thing) and smells a bit like musk and cocoa. A weird, but really good smell.

I haven't seen it here, but gloss. You'll thank me and yourself when you get a cleaning at the dentist and it isn't like you're being tortured... as much.

u/Redwineshandy · 1 pointr/Hyperhidrosis

Ah okay haha. I was getting worried for a second. Buffpuffs can be pretty rough haha.

Oh okay you use the roll-on? That's actually one of the weaker options (12%) and is just aluminum chloride, baking soda to buffer any hydrochloric acid that forms from sweat reacting with the aluminum. Water and some rubbing should be enough.

I use this personally:
Secret Antiperspirant and Deodorant for Women, Clinical Strength Invisible Solid, Stress Response, 1.6 Oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TR9AK28/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_MPk7BbCY6PWCN

The scent is unisex to me (I'm a guy) and lasts a longgg time. And the type of aluminum used is one of the more gentler forms. Goes on dry as a soft solid too. The liquid roll-ons are usually the most effective as they absorb deeper usually, like drysol and driclor (which have alcohol bases) but the wet application bothers me. And the gels take awhile to fully dry as well, even if they are a bit more skin friendly.

The one I use would need some sort of soap or cleanser to remove, but I wear it all day till my shower and you could definitely apply deodorant on top of it without washing it off beforehand.

u/brut88 · 1 pointr/nursing

I know it’s not in your supply room but it’s amazing what a good pair of underwear can do to help. Check out the uniqlos airism line.

Fresh So Dry Fresh Balls, 3.4 fl oz 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00973H5J0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_zS8CAbMFDV8Y2

This stuff also works wonders.

u/Entropius · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

The suggestion to use “Natural deodorant” is absurd. My guess is the author has zero experience with Hyperhidrosis and thinks natural solutions fix all possible problems. This reeks of being rooted in a Naturalistic Fallacy. Not only does the author tersely recommend “natural deodorant”, but they also failed to mention which one works, suggesting absolutely zero research into the subject, after all, surely there are natural deodorants that don't work, right?

For people who want a real solution, my best recommendation is to use a very powerful anti-persperant called Certain DRI, which is not to be confused with what's just a moderately powerful anti-persperant+deodorant called Certain DRI A.M. You may have to go to a Pharmacy to find it, but at least it's over-the-counter.

Things to know:

  • Certain DRI (the right one) is to be used the night-before as you are on your way to bed, not the morning of like most things you're used to.

  • It may take 2 or 3 nights to start working. (But when it works, it's damn effective).

  • May tingle a bit at first but you get used to it and won't notice that after a couple weeks.

  • Be careful not to over-use it, as that tingle could turn into a pain.

  • Annecdotally, the roll-on version is stronger than the white-stuff, but I can't personally attest to that since I haven't ever tried it.

  • Never apply it to shaved skin, or you will suffer from pain.

  • Don't overdose on the stuff like this guy and cause your sweat glans to stop working for over a year.

The Certain DRI A.M. is just like any other deodorant, and is used the morning you need it. Not particularly impressive, as it's on par with a stick of Mitchum Advanced Control.

Hopefully this will help anybody who's ruining their shirts or feels forced to wear undershirts.
u/ntownuser · 3 pointsr/wicked_edge

I use the TOBS deodorant matched to the specific cream/balm/splash when I shave with their products. I also use D.R Harris deodorant when I'm using their cream/balm/splash - Arlington is a great example the stick smells just like the cream/soap. Both of these brands offer non-aerosol stick deodorants that work very well (prevent smells, sweating) and are cost effective...they last a good few months.

Jack Black Pit Boss is another superb performer as a stick deodorant. It has a neutral scent and is ideal when you want to use a scented post shave balm or a splash without the smells clashing.

I only use stick based antiperspirant's as nothing ruins a good cologne or splash like a whole bunch of airborne smells and propellants from a can of pressurized deodorant as you hose your pits!

u/flojoTheAwesome · 1 pointr/malegrooming

What this guy said. I used to have a huge perspiration problem but it's been manageable since I started using Certain Dri. If that doesn't work check out Maxim Antiperspirant, which is stronger but much more expensive.

It's amazing what not having sweaty pits will do for his confidence, it's totally worth the money.

u/Usernamef2 · 1 pointr/Showerthoughts

Try Maxim. It's the only antiperspirant that actually worked for me. I literally begin sweating as soon as I get out of the shower. Be sure to heed the warnings in the review though. That shit burns if you put too much on. The first night I didn't think it'd be that bad, but trust me, IT IS. I was literally up the entire night with my armpits itching like crazy. I had literally scratched them until they bled. But for the first time, I didn't sweat! Yay?

After learning how much I needed on me, I would shower the night before, apply the antiperspirant, and go about my business the next day. There would be times where I would feel body increase in temperature, and feel myself sweating all over, but nothing from my armpits. I'm telling you, this shit works. The best part is that it stays on even if you shower. Obviously it's not as great as before and you might get some wetness, but it's nothing compared to what I had before. It also helps if you start wearing an undershirt, if you're able to. For me it seems to "insulate" me somehow and keep me from sweating more. No clue if that's actually what's happening, but it's the best answer I have.

u/bruce656 · 6 pointsr/Fitness

Yeah, compression or a good suggestion. Look into getting one of these, helps keeps the thunder in place. I tried a more expensive one, but I like this one better. Also, this stuff is also really good to protect against chafing.

u/oh-wtf · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Try different brands.

I used to use Old Spice Red Zone which is very strong. (You'd pretty much have to use sandpaper to get it off your armpits while in the shower.) Switched to "Right Guard Total Defense Power Stripe Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Invisible Solid", and only lightly apply. Works great, comes off easy, and I can wear white t-shirts again. (No more yellow staining.)

u/blakenichols1500 · 2 pointsr/LifeProTips

I would assume your regular physician. My Old Spice is labeled prescription strength but available over the counter. You can buy other over the counter high strength antiperspirant like this one which SHOULD help if not I'd talk to my physician and see what course he recommends.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Maxim Antiperspirant. It was a lifesaver for me when I was a stocker at Walmart. I used it on my face because I would always drip sweat, my hair would get stuck to my face, and it looked like I just walked in out of the rain.

It takes a few days of applying for it to work its best. After the first week of applying every day, I would only apply it once every 3-4 days. No more sweating on my face. I could bust my ass and work as hard as I could without dripping all over everything.

It's also useful when in crowded/hot places or if you get nervous easily. Boosted my confidence 10 fold.

I wish I had discovered it a long time ago.

u/johnamoose413 · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

Mitchum gel deodorant is extremely effective and not too expensive. Link to where you can buy a 4 pack for under 20 bucks. Cheap body wash mixed with a good luffa will get you squeaky clean, store brand dental floss, tooth brushes, and toothpaste will do the job if you maintain a good oral hygiene regiment, and regular hand/face soap hasn't killed me yet!

u/NickLee808 · 14 pointsr/malefashionadvice

In terms of unscented deodorant, I use Arm & Hammer. The main selling point for me is the fact that it's all natural and cheap. I suffer from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), so my pits get really smelly really quickly. It works though, even if it means I have to apply it anywhere between 2-3 times per day. I avoid antiperspirant because the idea of clogging my pores overnight with aluminium makes me nervous. Plus I can't find conclusive evidence of whether or not it's truly safe to use.

For soap, I would definitely recommend against any "manly-smelling" products. I use Dove because it's great at keeping my skin from drying out and I always feel nice and soft after I take a shower.

As for shampoos, I don't really use anything to wash my hair. I just rinse off whenever I'm in the shower and that takes care of any lingering odours. I kinda prefer styling my hair with my natural oils anyway rather than bombarding it every day with all kinds of products.

When I use fragrances, I want that to be all people smell from me. I don't like the idea of my expensive eau de toilette mixing with Berry Blast Axe shampoo, Mountain Madness Old Spice body wash, and Great Googly Grape Gillette aftershave. I use 1-2 sprays of my fragrance and leave it at that. It's meant to be intimate and subtle enough for just that one person you want to make out with—not the entire room.

My friend who binds recommended using lots of baby powder plus rubbing an anti-chafe stick on your nipples to keep them from rubbing and getting sore! Something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YBNC9CE/ref=mp_s_a_1_6_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1522879529&sr=8-6&keywords=anti+chafe+stick&dpPl=1&dpID=412863BaR3L&ref=plSrch

I used to use this on my thighs when i was a long -distance runner! I haven't tried my friend's advice yet (haven't gotten my binder in the mail yet -also from gc2b!). But they've been binding for a while! Good luck!

This looks awesome! You're wonderful. :)

Kind of a niche product, but this clinical strength deodorant was awful. It was gooey and took forever to dry... it barely functioned as a regular antiperspirant, let alone clinical strength. Just... don't go there.

My last gifted post.

I went through this faze a few years ago and I found Mitchum, but it is antiperspirant. Here is one for sensitive skin. Good luck on your quest.

u/Daedex · 8 pointsr/AskMen

Pick me!

I got this: Dove Men+. Best one i have used by far and have been using it for about 8 months now. Not going to use anything else again.

The other ones I have tried that are even more powerful than this one are:
Right Guard 5
and
Degree Adrenaline Series

I dont sweat "that much" to warrant either of these two.

u/aking14 · 2 pointsr/everymanshouldknow

Right Guard is a stick. It's subtle so not too many people notice unless they get really close, like for hugs. I rarely wear cologne since I didn't get as many compliments for it.

u/Heathenloki · 8 pointsr/AskMen

Lose weight if possible, moisture wicking underwear (Look at something like this,) and try a powder like Gold Bond or this(I usually apply it after drying off when I get out of the shower, it's got a pleasant cooling sensation) but any talc powder will help so if you want to go cheaper try baby powder.

u/toniMPLS · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I usually wear toe cover/cushion things like these which covers the part of my feet that have the most issues in certain shoes. Having that thin bit of material in between my feet and the shoes makes a huge different. If I'm wearing shoes that don't work with those, or for different parts of my feet, I use this stuff. I sometimes need to touch up during the day, depending on how much I'm on my feet, but it really helps prevent blisters.

u/bananasmcgee · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

I have stinky armpits and my husband magically somehow does not have BO. Like ever. So he's super sensitive to my armpit smell. I was using Secret Original before and it wasn't cutting it. I tried a bunch of brands, including roll ons and gels, but finally I tried Secret Clinical and it's much better!

This is what I use, but in the sport scent. You're supposed to put it on at night, but I just use it in the morning and I don't have any problems with it. It takes some getting used to how much you're supposed to use (it comes out through these little holes and when you first use it, it comes out unevenly).

u/atx00 · 2 pointsr/funny

I'll look into it. Pretty partial to this stuff. Smells amazing.

u/x420legitsniper · 2 pointsr/malegrooming

I'm glad I could be of assistance! I rinse off and use soap every time I shower. It's only once a week that I really stand in the shower for fifteen minutes and scrub myself excessively. To make sure I don't smell I use Mitchum advanced control deodorant and Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio cologne.

u/Nyxian · 1 pointr/CampingandHiking

Thanks! Any idea if you are fine running unscented anti-perspirant, like this?

u/purplecowz · 1 pointr/Coachella

been using this for years, it's fantastic. Looks like Walgreens sells it too.

u/cerberus-01 · 1 pointr/TooAfraidToAsk

^ This. I've noticed that it's not as easy to find as it was a few years ago. For that reason, I'd recommend going the Amazon route. To be clear, that link is just to point you in the right direction. I'm not trying to profit from it, and I welcome you to search the same product yourself.

u/yvva · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I use this as my anti-perspirant, because nothing available in the drugstore prevents the sweating. And then I use this in the Lychee scent for a deodorant.

Or sometimes I'll use this instead of the Lychee stuff. This product also comes in a deodorant only form, but I don't mind the extra sweat protection the antiperspirant gives. This smells like a tropical fruity paradise---no joke.

u/bozzwtf · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

Use a washcloth (really scrub) when you shower and a body powder to stay fresh. My friends swear by Bálla, but good ole Gold Bond does the trick for me. Watch out for the menthol brand, it can be a bit much for some.

Edit: In the meantime, just wear this shirt everywhere. Because I can't...

u/DonaldTrumpsToilett · 1 pointr/malegrooming

I use this. It works pretty well so I see no need to change it. If it didn't ruin my clothes I would wear it all the time.

u/Mister_Cupcake · 1 pointr/malelifestyle

I want to try some out. It has some pretty shit reviews on Amazon. People talk about it staining/bleaching their clothes. I assume that hasn't happened to you, or do you recommend a particular kind?

u/1new_username · 1 pointr/AskMen

Me too, specifically this one

Amazon link

I like it because it is a "soft solid" and doesn't leave those deodorant stains on undershirts and seems to go on easier

u/keljar1 · 5 pointsr/TalesFromYourServer

try this I personally haven’t used it but have heard great things! I’m buying one for myself for an upcoming music festival I’m attending. I had a terrible chafing incident a couple years ago from wet shorts at an amusement park, I feel your pain.

u/zomgimagirlonreddit · 2 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

For your sweating: http://www.amazon.com/Strong-Antiperspirant-Deodorant-Clinical-Strength/dp/B0014DQLN2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1314149605&sr=8-3

I used to sweat soooo freakin much, I didn't want to raise my hand in class blah blah blah. I used this and it TOTALLY fixes it. The only side effect is that if you put too much on/in the beginning when you put it on, your underarms can get really itchy. Put it on only before bed with an old tee, because it sometimes stains the shirt. But it works like a miracle.

u/trclocke · 1 pointr/IAmA

Sorry if this has been mentioned but I can't recommend this highly enough I had armpit hyperhidrosis to the point that it would physically drip down my torso. Put this on twice a week and I don't sweat ever. It's amazing.

use as instructed. it goes on the night before. You can shower the next morning if you want.

u/xenomorphgirl · 3 pointsr/loseit

I swear by Gold Bond sticks. ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007VC9DKI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_8eZlDbEVRHTKA )

Either that or Body Glide brand. Looks like deodorant packaging, even, so it's easy to keep on hand. I just rub it on wherever it's needed. In fact, it works wonders for your feet in dress shoes or heels!

u/MustngSS · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Better yet, Balla Powder - bitches love the smell of original.

u/martysthreegirls · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This has excellent reviews on amazon.

I don't know what kind you're using... I always use a men's sport one even though Im female

i used to use something like this https://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2/ref=sr_1_16_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1483387924&sr=8-16&keywords=antiperspirant

at night. Then use regular deoderant during the day, and cheap undershirts help sweat from showing.

Pitboss by Jack Black. Great stuff. Only thing that keeps me dry.

u/SylphsAndSnowflakes · 2 pointsr/AsianBeauty

Gold Bond makes an anti-friction stick that is amazing as well and doesn't wear off as quickly as deodorant seems to for me.

This is the one, but I found it cheaper at Walgreens than on Amazon if you're in the US.

I'll throw out the brand Maxim. It worked much better for me than Certain Dri.

http://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2

u/BitterLumpkin · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've dealt with this forever, it ruins everything. Here's what I've found works.

  • Pick up some Odaban. Make sure to follow the directions! This is strong stuff, one spray before bed DO NOT shower before using it. I've gotten down to using it once a week, but it will sting and itch if you abuse it.
  • Use an Anti-antiperspirant with a high Aluminum percentage. I like something with around 19%, also the paste style seems to work better and stain shirts a lot less than solids. My brand is Old Spice Sweat Defense. Use that every morning. We're trying for a 1-2 punch of sweat combat here!

I've been where you are nothing but black t-shirts and a million undershirts. This is my routine and its working pretty awesomely for me. I've gotten to where I can wear a button-up shirt without an undershirt even on the hottest days.
u/ivebeenthereb4 · 3 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

oh man i feel for you, OP. I've had this my whole life too. The only thing that has realllllly helped me is this special deodorant. Not like the stuff you get in CVS. I believe it is called Maxim. You can get it on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2 -- have you ever tried it?
I've been using it since I was in High School. And i swear by it now. I went from having to apply it every night before bed to only using it maybe 1x month 10 years later. Over time it has actually all but ceased my excessive sweating. (I'd read this could happen but was not a believer until it actually happened to me). Anyways, if you haven't tried it I would suggest checking it out. It really saved me.
(Should also mention that for a while applying the deodorant was not a pleasant experience. It often burned. Over time though this totally faded as a side effect too. Power through it - I don't think you'll regret it)

u/sarah-bellum · 2 pointsr/loseit

If it's helpful at all, this stuff has been a literal godsend for me. I had tried every kind of deodorant/antiperspirant you could think of before this and none work as well as this one.

Not sure it will be much help to you if you're primarily sweating from your face/head etc., but for someone who sweats a lot from their pits and inner thighs, this has been a game changer.

u/TheOldGuy54 · 3 pointsr/AskMen

http://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2

This blocks at least some of the sweat. Some say some of the stuff in this thing may not be healthy in the long run, but I doubt the occasional use does anything. Best applied after a shower the night before.

u/llDasll · 2 pointsr/bootroom

I'm beginning to wonder if they stopped making it. My kid used to get the worst blisters and we'd have that in the soccer bag at all times. It worked great, but the last time I was at CVS, they didn't have it.

Edit: just saw that they did indeed discontinue it :/ It looks like Gold Bond's is just as good.

I just started using arm and hammer unscented deodorant and it's the only thing that's lasted the whole day for me. Plus, it's cheap. Some of those special "clinical" lady deodorants can be $7+ per stick and don't even seem to last very long.

u/baconbaconbacon5 · 1 pointr/ftm

There's a product called fresh balls (no shit) which I think is basically anti-perspirant cream. Sweat = chafing, so if you keep things dry down there it'll help a lot.

This worked well for me when I was quite a bit larger than I am now. Regular Degree does the job now.

They also have pads you can stick to your pit sleeve at most drug stores.

u/chubby_chuckles · 2 pointsr/Fitness

I used to sweat like a fiend as well. Then I tried this. Maxim

It's pure magic.

You can get it at your local pharmacy for cheaper probably (without a prescription). They will probably have to order it though as I doubt they have it in stock.

u/umfuckno · 1 pointr/Hyperhidrosis

Ordered a bottle of maxim.

Will report back with results. It's 15% aluminum chloride, edging out certain dri's 12%.

u/frak8757 · 4 pointsr/powerlifting

I bought some of this here shit it is so good. I wear dresses to work a lot so now that its summer I use it almost every day. not slimy or gross and stays on all day!

u/crimsonink · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

i usually don't wear socks with sperry's. they should be leather, so they usually don't smell as bad. however, when it does, i use balla powder and sprinkle in a few dashes.

u/nube-negra · 30 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I use ARM & HAMMER™ Essentials™ Solid Deodorant, Unscented

I like it because it works great and has no aluminum, parabens, colorants, or animal-derived ingredients. It does have scent but I think it comes naturally from its ingredients, it's not added so it's not perfumey, if thats a word. The scent is not strong. I commented this even tho it has some smell because crystal deodorant doesn't work that well for some people. (happened to my bf, and he switched to Arm and Hammer too) anyways YMMV.

u/PathToExile · 2 pointsr/AskMen

If you are talking about hyperhidrosis use a prescription-strength antiperspirant such as Maxim. I used to sweat through 2 shirts by the time lunch rolled around in high school, I tried that Maxim stuff (used a whole tube over a few weeks) and 11 years later I haven't had that problem again.

u/lordlaser9 · 2 pointsr/everymanshouldknow

Choose an antiperspirant and get something clear to avoid the little chalky 'stretch marks' that can appear if you put a shirt on immediately following application.

I know Gillette has options.

u/cooooter · 1 pointr/AskReddit

It sounds like you've probably tried it all, but just in case, have you looked into Maxim anti-perspirant? i used to sweat pretty bad and this stuff worked wonders. I haven't looked back since.

u/TheLookoutGrey · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I've used maxim for years and it's the only thing that's worked. Sounds like it's similar to certaindri that you put it on before you go to bed and wash it out in the morning. After about 3 days you'll stop sweating completely. When I don't use it I'm a waterfall of pit sweat.

u/RigilNebula · 9 pointsr/ftm

In addition to what people have said about saying it works better for you, if this is going to be a problem with them you could also go with an unscented men's deodorant. Mitchum makes one, as does Speed Stick and Arm & Hammer.

u/croatcroatcroat · -1 pointsr/Advice

I had luck with armpit odors with perscription antiperspirant. I tried deodorants (smelly armpit stuff) of all kinds but I just smelled worse. It wasn't till I used unscented perscription antiperspirant. Or something like "Mennen Speed Stick Unscented Antiperspirant".

u/Brave- · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

Fresh Balls, yo. Or just simple baby powder if you're cheap.

u/nobbyv · 4 pointsr/AskMen

Not a deodorant, but an antiperspirant.

u/Officer_Snuffy · 1 pointr/AirForce

Am I allowed to keep these at BMT. I'm not a fan of the powder stuff I hear they give you.

u/Jessie_James · 5 pointsr/AskMenOver30

Try Mitchum - it lasts 24hrs and I have no issues with stains.

https://www.amazon.com/Mitchum-Anti-Perspirant-Deodorant-Unscented-3-4-Ounce/dp/B001EWEP86?th=1

That's the stuff I've been using for years.

EDIT: Moreso to this point - a true 24 hour antiperspirant does exactly that - prevents you from sweating. If you sweat, then your product of choice isn't working. The problem there is that it simply may be your body chemistry that is allowing the sweat to mix with bacteria and turn yellow, not the antiperspirant you are using.

u/mello992 · 5 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

http://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1374773345&sr=1-1&keywords=maxim

This works better than anything else I have tried. Just to warn you, it fucking burns when you put it on. You're either gonna have to sit through it or put something on it to relieve the pain. This is one reason you don't want to shave before putting it on. Remember, it's totally worth the brief pain of applying it.

u/pipkin227 · 0 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

THIS. TRY THIS.

It's so worth it. It's change my life, and the lives of two of my guy friends who sweat through clothes when it's 30 degrees out.

Edit: this is totally normal. I get it really bad after sex.

u/maymanny · 1 pointr/Hyperhidrosis

Hi there!

First of all, I think it is important to diagnose whether you have primary or secondary HH. This may affect which treatment is usefull.

Secondly, I also suffer a lot from forehead sweating! Previously, I have succeded with aluminum chloride (https://www.amazon.com/Maxim-Prescription-Strength-Antiperspirant-Deodorant/dp/B0014DQLN2). However, it dries out my skin rather much, so I only used if a few days up to special occasions (weddings etc.).

A few weeks ago I went to the doctor and was prescribed glycopyrrolate creme (3%). It's rather expensive (~100 usd for 30ml) but I only use very little at a time. I did a test run with it for the previous 4 days and it has worked very well for me. My skin does not dry out and my forehead has not been sweating at all. I have not tested it during parties wearing a suit yet (usually the worst time!) but I'm kinda looking forward to it. My forehead feels a little more greasy when touching it, but it's not visible (my wife and my mirror at least tells me).

u/Abisteen · 2 pointsr/C25K

I recommend some of this also for the potential chafing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YBNC9CE/

It's cheaper than the body glide that gets recommended and so far for me has worked just as well.

Make sure to take it slow. I'm lighter than you but still far too heavy for my height at 5'9" 252 (started at 259 a couple of weeks ago) and I overdid the pace on week 1 days 2 and 3 and now am stuck doing low impact work due to knee pain. Hoping that works itself out over the next few days and I might be able to get back on the pavement soon.

u/AllTheDranks · 2 pointsr/Goruck

Buy this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VC9DKI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 apply everywhere. I had zero chafing from the 2 lights and 2 tough challenges and it was still on after multiple dunks in the pacific ocean and alll the hours. Shoulders, lower back, waistline, etc. I also bring it with me. buy it naow!

u/brandmed · 1 pointr/Fitness

I'm a big guy who used to be even bigger. Even though I've lost a considerable amount of weight, this is still a problem. This stuff works wonders for me in preventing that. Just rub it on any places likely to chafe before running, biking, etc.
