This is the stand I had my 10g on, but I find during maintenance that the stand isn’t sturdy enough and the tank shakes and wobbles sometimes. I have a large metal filing cabinet in the room that is sturdy enough but it’s a bit taller than I would like for a tank stand, and is currently where the WiFi router goes. There’s three Aquariums total right now, two 10g’s for freshwater and one for salt. I am going to put the old tank stand in my room once I find a new one and upgrade my Tiger Salamander to a 20g that fits the stand. The wobbly-ness won’t be as much of an issue if it’s not holding water. But I would like to buy or make a stand for the two freshwater tanks and one for the saltwater by itself. And it is very important I get something to protect any LED lighting bars I purchase for either tanks as my cat likes to jump up on the tank and sit on the mesh metal lid I have for it, and knocked it off enough times that the ramp on/off settings don’t work right anymore. So canopy is a must, but I also can’t use canopy stock lighting as it won’t be enough for plants or maybe corals if I go that route for the saltwater tank. Also, it’s possible I could make the second tank brackish and make a stand that houses all three in a row, but I’m not sure what one could keep in a brackish 10g.

Wow that’s a nice size. Usually I would recommend this light for LPS and softies tanks but because your tank isn’t very tall this light should be able to grow anything in you tank. It’s got a great balance of blues and whites and has lots of controls the high end lights have.

It may be a bit too long for your tank and may not sit properly so you could get two mounts and it’ll be perfect in my opinion.

You could go with the smaller 36” model of this light but you loose some coverage and power.

Glad I could help! I'm looking forward to your pictures. Consider getting a pine canopy and a retrofit kit, along with a 2-stage light timer (for when you eventually decide to put in moonlight LEDs, like I just did :) ). The individual bulb kits are nice, because you can take one out of the fixture if you require low light intensity.

It's actually a dresser, hah. However, I can attest to the fact that these are pretty awesome and cheap!

I also love the cinder block/2x4 DIY stands but that's just me. :)

Alright, thanks for that advice! I'm planning on getting this stand and I was just going to move the tubes through those holes in the side. And for the substrate should I do one inch of eco complete and one inch of ada aquasoil, or 2 inches of ecocomplete, or what if I use sand instead of aquasoil

Just to throw another option at you. I bought this to be my 20G long stand and have been very happy with it.

When I bought a Finnex ray2 light lifts like that came with it.

Edit: found something that might work for ya https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XPHVXL1/?&ref=flgs_ip_share

Ahh, I see. They really don't need that much support on the bottom. The glass is really strong as long as the weight is evenly distributed.

Now you have me wondering if it's possible for a long tank to bow and break if you pick it up from the ends. Too bad Mythbusters is done.

Could I remove the middle shelf on this [stand] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008VRXDTO/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza) and would it still be sturdy?

It's an Aquatic Fundamentals 29/37 Upright that I bought from Petco. Didn't DIY that one, since the aquarium itself was already taking up tons of time. I think it's this model:

Petco's site is messed up atm for me, otherwise I'd link it there.
