Crazy cat lady here, I have four in my apartment. Unless they are lying to me, everyone that comes over is always shocked I have cats because it doesn't smell like it "should". I have two air purifiers in the house these and I have this one that sits directly on top of the litter box. I've had my four cats around 10 years and also fostered probably about... 30. So I feel like I've tried it all and I finally have a good ritual and set up. I use this litter box because it's big and tall which they prefer but also easy to get inside when it's time to clean. I use this track mat because so far it's really done the best to keep the litter from traveling far from the box. And like you, I clean it 2-3 times a day. The litter that is. I use this litter which is LIGHT YEARS better than anything else I've ever used. One of my cats also has horrible allergies and this is the one litter I've found that she doesn't react to. It also doesn't dust so you don't have to constantly feel like poofs of litter are showing up around the house or on the carpet or furniture. I also vacuum every single day. I have one vacuum I use for the floor where there may be litter tracked and another I use that never touches litter. I think this is fairly important. This vacuum honestly is the best I've found for hair. Miracle worker. Unless you can afford the Dyson Animal. I also have this spray that I'll use for my carpet and fabric once a month or so and I feel like it makes a huge difference. And then lastly I also keep windows open whenever I can and I have this diffuser and put oil in it a few times a week and let it run for a bit, plus it looks cool with the lights :) Oh! and one last thing that I think is great... put one of those cardboard scratch pads near the litter box so the cat has to step over it to get anywhere else. Like off the track mat but near the box. I do this and all the cats inevitably use the scratch pad for fun when walking by it but I'm convinced it also cleans their paws from any litter left over before they start walking around the rest of the house!
My big toenail got totally ruined by fungus because I left it untreated for 2+ years. Tbh I didn't know what it was and thought it'd go away on its own.
A year ago, during my trip to Bali, I was in the water so much that half of my toenail actually fell off! This is when I finally started doing research and treating it. I went through a 9 month phase where I slacked off because I was traveling a lot, which is why you see it get much worse. But about 3 months ago I decided I've had enough and took this to the next level. I've been extremely proactive in my routine and am finally seeing results!!! It's a lot of work but it's really encouraging to see improvements.
Here's how I'm doing it:
Hey everyone,
I suffer from Seborrheic dermatitis, so the only products I am using are from this helpful list. I am currently using the Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel mixed with The Ordinary's Squalane and the Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser and for the first time I feel like I am having actual success.
So I wanted to make the next step and introduce sunscreen. I ordered the CōTZ FACE Natural Tinted
SPF 40, but unfortunately it breaks me out.
I definitely wanted a mattifying sunscreen, since regardless of which product I am using, I always get noticeably oily/greasy 1-2 hours after applying products. So to try other sunscreens from that list, I ordered the Biore Uv Perfect Face Milk Spf50 + / Pa ++++ and the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Milk (SPF50 PA ++++). It is going to take some time until they arrive, but I thought I could already ask some questions:
According to Fiftyshadesofsnail the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Milk dries down to a clear satin finish that can go more matte or more dewy depending on your skin condition and what skincare you have underneath. Considering my situation, it might end up too dewy for me. My inital idea was to simply apply it over my Benton Aloe Propolis Gel + Squalane mix and in case that this will end up too dewy, I wanted to test using this over the Benton Gel without the squalane. However if this still ends up being too dewy, would it be okay to use the Skin Aqua Super Moisture Milk without any actual moisturizer under it, or would I be missing out on some important skin benefits?
My next question would be if the Vanicream Gentle Facial Cleanser will be enough to remove the Biore and the Skin Aqua sunscreens. I have read somewhere that I might need an oil cleanser for this. I currently have this Mystic Moments White Mineral Oil Carrier Oil 100% Pure, but I didn't like how it doesn't really get off when using water. I have read that if you mix it with 10-15% cromollient SCE it'll be better, but I live in Europe, Germany and I don't know where I can get that here.
Thank you for any kind of help!
I've found it helpful with sleep. I typically use lavender at night and it really calms me. Using it during the day has been somewhat helpful but I've noticed if I'm around the scent too long or it's too strong I'll get a headache. I'm sure everyone is slightly different, but I will say it's definitely helped. I got into a routine of using it at nighttime about an hour before bed. I would turn it on while getting ready for bed then spend about an hour awake with it just relaxing. I tried to get into a routine with it so my body and mind would understand it's time to relax and settle down. Honestly that in itself has done wonders for me. I don't use it as often during the day as I do at night. I have close friends who have diffuser bracelets and necklaces and they've said good things about those.
This is the oil and diffuser I purchased off Amazon. I wasn't looking to spend a lot since it was my first time using either but I'm really happy with both products! Eden's Garden has tons more than just lavender if you'd prefer something else!

Now that it's a new day, I hope you're feeling a little better and your good karma is starting to kick in. Just in case it hasn't, karma, quick!
Weird and random things happen to me all the time. One of the latest things to happen was just the other day, my boyfriend and I were quoting Robin Hood, Men in Tights and the line was, "A toll is a toll. And a roll is a roll. If we don't get no toll's, then we don't eat no rolls" (I think we were making rolls for dinner). Now, keep in mind this movie is from the 1993, so it was totally random. Now for the weird part. I very rarely venture out of RAOA cause most people are dicks, but I ended up clicking on a thumbnail and reading the comments. Third comment from the top was the quote we had been saying from Robin Hood...it was pretty weird to say the least!
If I win, I would love this peppermint oil($6.15 under new and used with free shipping) I like to put a few drops on a tissue then suck it up in my vacuum for a nice clean scent :) Thanks for the contest!
Hi! My favorite oils I use daily are Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint. I think those are the best ones because of their versatility. Lavender is an antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, and so much more and it smells amazing. It literally has 100 uses, if not more. Eucalyptus is an anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antibacterial too! I love to drop some in the shower and breathe it in with steam, same with peppermint oil too! Peppermint oil is antimicrobial, and its amazing to use with a carrier oil like oilve oil, and rub sore muscles with it. You can also out it on your feet to help relieve symptoms of a cold, and lower a fever naturally!
As for a diffuser, I don't actually have one, but the one I really want to get is

I have heard really great things about those two, and I love NOW oils, they are decently priced and they have such a great line :) so if you are thinking of getting into essential oils I reccomend NOW and their diffusers :)

I would be very careful with using Vaseline as an occlusive. Definitely patch test it for a prolong period (like 2 weeks) before going all out. Better to have a small patch of blemishes than a face full of it. It does sound like your skin might benefit from something exfoliating like the C20 to help with dullness, but without some good hydrating & occlusive products, that will just land you in trouble.
My HG hydrating & moisturizing 'products':
DYI Witch Hazel, HA, & Glycerin toner (sometimes I add a few drops of high linoleic facial oil or tea tree oil to the mixture). This is my, 'I screwed up my face using too much acne medication/trying a new product that it hates' savior. I know for a fact my skin response very well to these 3 items mixed together & I can always turn to this DYI toner without risk of a reaction. It isn't hydrating enough for me just to use it without a cream of some sort, but it is the figurative lifejacket of skincare routine.
Carezone Doctor's Solution Dematology Hydra Toner, this the most hydrating toner I've ever come across that doesn't break me out.
Carezone Doctor's Solution Dematology H.A. Cream, this cream is on the heavier side, but damn if it doesn't hydrate & moisturize my skin without causing a bad reaction.
Mediheal Mediental Balhyo-Jinjeong Healing Mask is the best damned face mask I've ever used (thank you, Snow White & Asian Pear!) Comfortable to use, crazy moisturizing, & soothing as all get out. The blue, yellow, & purple versions are extremely nice, but the green one has my heart!
I tried to go with cheaper, more accessible Asian & Western products, & soooooo much regret, especially in regards to the toner & cream. As long as they make that those 2 Carezone products & that Mediheal mask, I will be a loyal customer! My only regret is they aren't the easiest to buy. I usually get all 3 off Koreadepart but I may try another vendor the next time I need to order them.
If you're not sensitive to snail, the COSRx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence might be the way to go. It's got a pretty limited ingredient list & it's easy to get a hold of without breaking the bank.
Not exactly a makeup/skincare recommendation, but do you have a humidifier you love? I have one that says it creates an "invisible mist," but I've been running it for 5 days straight in my bedroom and the water level hasn't dropped AT ALL. Humidity level doesn't feel like it has changed at all in the room--I still wake up with a dry, tight face and a dry, bloody nose.
It's been a while since I've shopped for one, and I'm honestly overwhelmed by the options. They all look so different now! Bonus points for one that's not gigantic, hideous, or super loud.
/u/intoxikate is awesome like... really awesome.
The best thing I can think to tell you is that PUMPKIN CIDER is in the Bevmo near my house right now!!!! I'm seriously excited about this.
I like using these from my misc wish list for making my house and toilet smell good. Did you know lemongrass smells very similar to Fruit Loops?
Reverse Osmosis
TLDR: Has anyone gone from tap-water to Reverse Osmosis and noticed a major difference?
I just bought a RO system a few days ago, which has not arrived yet. Water locally is quite terrible, between 150-450ppm (yes, seen it that bad) & it smells/tasted bad all year. I suspect there's a lot of chlorine in the water too.
I suspect the chlorine, and chloramine is killing off beneficial bacteria & the high PPM may be partially locking out some nutrients. Worst case, I just have really clean water to drink!
Humidity
TLDR: Has anyone increased the humidity in an indoor grow, or greenhouse and seen positive results?
I suspect the humidity in my grow tent is way too low. I don't know the exact RH, I'm fairly certain it's below 20%, especially in the winter. Some of the plants also 'drink' water at an incredible rate, of more than a gallon-per-week.
I understand humidity can also encourage fungus, but I haven't had that problem since I did a better job sealing the top of my hydro-buckets & improving air-circulation.
I purchased one of these yesterday (also not arrived), and depending on results, it may be inside or outside (but near) the grow tent.
Your thoughts/experiences?
edit: I'm primarily growing peppers, herbs, and asparagus. Asparagus is doing great. Pepper plants are very healthy, plenty of flowers, little-to-no fruit. Herbs (basil, mint, etc) doing just fine.
I was having this issue too about a month ago! I was putting chapstick on like crazy and it wasn't helping. I think it is because I drool at night, which I read can be a cause (which if you started using the invisilign it would make sense that it might be trapping bacteria in your mouth and drool). It does look like angular cheilitis, but I'm not a doctor.
I'd try some tea tree oil mixed with some vitamin E oil. Tea tree oil is a natural antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial, and you don't need to use a lot (it's potent!) so it is an effective an inexpensive treatment. You can usually find tea tree oil at the pharmacy or the grocery store, but if not you can get it online or at health food type stores. The vitamin E oil they should have at the pharmacy or grocery store as well, but if you have any vitamin E capsules you can crack one open and apply it.
I also read that this problem can occur when your immune system is weakened, which can happen when you're stressed or haven't been eating enough nutritional foods. It wouldn't hurt to add a multivitamin and some vitamin C. I know when I started taking vitamins, the corners of my mouth cleared up in a couple weeks.
It’s this one from Amazon (linked below). It’s plastic though if you’re trying to avoid that. Young Living oils (MLM company) has a wood and glass option. It’s VERY expensive, but I linked that too in case you’re interested!
Your main concern with “cheap” diffusers is the plastic lining. This should be a good, hard plastic otherwise your oils will erode the lining and you’ll be diffusing plastic. I’ve had mine for nearly a year and I love it. Just something to keep in mind if you want a different diffuser. :)

Oh god I have TERRIBLE cramps. I so could use one of these.
The smell of Lavender is really relaxing to me. I love it.
I'd love the polka dot or zebra striped (if you have it) one :)
I didn't know you could use flax for this purpose. When I had horses, we added it to their feed to make their coats extra shiny.
Thanks for the contest :)
So you think adding black pepper to turmeric is just bullshit too. You speak of all this science you believe in but want to pick and choose I guess. All vanillin does apparently is make it not evaporate as fast, what is hard to understand here?
And plus I said more catnip studies need to be done, but catnip essential oil is safe for topical use, so really the only research needed is just larger studies of the effectiveness on mosquitoes.
I've shown you studies on how effective citronella, lemon eucalyptus and now catnip essential oil is on mosquitoes. The only downside for some is how long it lasts. This can easily be avoided by using a oil like coconut oil as the carrier, problem solved.
Plus like I said it works great for gnats as well, which is something DEET can't touch.
http://www.amazon.com/Eucalyptus-Therapeutic-Essential-Edens-Garden-/dp/B002RTVKOC/ref=sr_1_7_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1465101277&sr=8-7&keywords=lemon+eucalyptus+essential+oil

So for about 11$ you can get 1oz and 10mL of essential oil and only need about 20-30 drops per 4oz spray bottle mixed with witch hazel (or coconut oil). 1 oz is about 500+ drops.
Plus if you read any of the reviews it shows how well it works for other people at repelling them.
I really should get to sleep too :p
I could really use one of these essential oils for my homemade cleaning products and hair rinses. I'm on a pretty tight budget for the nest few months so a little luxury like a pretty smell makes a big difference.
Happy gifting and it's good to have you here :)
No problem.
I had some issues where I kept changing something in it and messing all my progress up. Been doing much better now that I realized I was the problem. Seems like a lot in writing, but it really isn't much.
__
AM:
I mainly use the kojac sponge because it cuts down on me picking the flacky skin off my face which tended to be the gateway to me picking acne or peeling off scabs.
__
PM:
(I do my face wash last step in the shower even though places tend to recommend against it because of the heat; if I turned up the heat a lot during my shower, I turn it down to wash my face. It seemed to me that I used more heat in the sink after showering since my hands can stand heat better than the rest of my body.)
__
Shower details:
I use shampoo/conditioner that doesn't contain sulfates. I know my one friend realized that sulfates in her shampoo were likely what was causing her back to break out. I use this which is expensive but it lasts me a year even though I tend to overuse it.
I also wash in the following order: shampoo, conditioner (leave in), private areas with water, wash my hands with my body soap (Dr. Bronner's), then my shoulders/back before any other part since that seemed to cut down on back acne as well. Last, in order, I wash my armpits, groin (not the inside of genitals, I mean my groin pit?? [Where my leg bends] I cover my genitals to keep soap out of that area.), feet. Then I rinse out the conditioner and do my face wash routine.
Edit: Also forgot to mention that I avoid letting soap sit on my skin. Trial and error seems to show that that causes me to breakout as well so I rinse it off as I go.
I don't change my pillowcase every night but I flip them. I have two pillows I sleep on and I sleep once on each before changing the pillowcase.
____
I would definitely recommend changing one thing or adding one thing at a time and patch testing if you can.
__
ETA: If your acne is severe, I'd still recommend a dermatologist when you can go. Or maybe talking to your primary doctor even. My HRT prescriber, for my acne, prescribed me Doxycycline and Tretinoin at one point. I don't use either, currently, but you can try using a non-dermatologist if you don't have any other option.
Edit2: Clarified some minor things.
A lot of the recommendations so far are pretty solid. In your case because you travel so much, I would also suggest using smell (aromatherapy) to enhance your life. The way that some thing or some place smells is key to our experience of that object or location. When we are most moved, our senses directly inscribe our remembrances. Even our mood and behavior is influenced by smell.
I caution against using air fresheners, or aromatherapy, as a daily practice simply because of possible side effects (e.g. air quality, migraine, etc.). But in moderation, it has been known to help alleviate stress and other psychological issues.
When you travel half the day on the road, you may be cutting yourself off from a huge range of scents that people take for granted. By testing different essential oils and using a small portable diffuser like this one or an even smaller one like this, you could easily create a self-care travel kit that provides you with some extra comfort.
Please do not use toothpaste! You don't want to end up like this.
There are better products for removing and/or preventing pimples:
Mario Badescu's acne products: Drying Cream, Drying Mask or Special Healing Powder. - I like their drying cream. It works very well but not fast enough.
Murad's Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel - I never purchased but my esthetician normally use this to treat my zits for my facials. It is very stingy but it does work very well.
La Roche-Posay Efflaclar Duo or Efflaclar K. - I prefer Duo than K. I had congested pores on my cheek/temple area. I applied really thin layer all over my face and next day, they all disappeared. I can't really use Duo everyday because it will dry my skin. This stuff is pretty harsh for my sensitive skin.
If you want something natural - Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish Stick or tea tree oil.
Tea tree oil is my holy grail. It is effective than drugstore products and cheaper! I use it 3x a week. Dilute it with cold pressed olive oil (two teaspoon olive oil and 3-5 drops tea tree oil) and apply on my face / neck. Massage it for 10 minutes and let it sit for a few minutes then wipe it off with warm towel rag.
Sure thing! Always happy to help others experience essential oils, they're life-changing. Here's a link to a good beginner set on Amazon:

Let me know if you have more specific questions about individual oils or recipes/uses. :)
Fear cuts deeper than swords.
I have very dry skin, and would say that most of the moisturisers I've tried - including some highly recommended - had the same problem of them not doing much except for the first couple of hours. Two things that appeared to have a more long term effect are Mineral Oil (baby oil is scented mineral oil, so if you can put up with the smell it's a cheap easy way of getting some) and products with Hyaluronic Acid, which helps your skin hold more moisture. For the latter, the Ordinary is a good way to get some on a budget, and a few of their other products have Hyaluronic acid added in too.
You should also wear sunscreen whenever you leave the house. I got this Altruist sunscreen after seeing it recommended in this subreddit, and it's great value, no white cast or pilling, and gets on well with my dry skin.
> So you think adding black pepper to turmeric is just bullshit too. You speak of all this science you believe in but want to pick and choose I guess
in the context that adding black pepper to turmeric makes food taste better? I don't think that is bullshit. I would think it is bullshit if you said that adding black pepper to turmeric cures a sore throat, cancer, helps the skins, and repels bugs. Though, if there are science backing up any one of those claims, then I would use it. And no, I don't pick and chose my science. I agree with you on lemon eucalyptus, but it was citronella/vanillin mix that science need more research for. (and in the study I provided it did say that vanillin extended the longevity of the repellent.)
> And plus I said more catnip studies need to be done, but catnip essential oil is safe for topical use, so really the only research needed is just larger studies of the effectiveness on mosquitoes.
On which I agree with you. I said it looks promising, but it still needs to be tested for human/animal safely. With new chemicals/substances/cures/etc, you never know how it reacts to human/animals. I simply said that many "cures for cancer" pop up and most never make it final product. Thus, Catnip may turn out to be a dud
> I've shown you studies on how effective citronella, lemon eucalyptus and now catnip essential oil is on mosquitoes. The only downside for some is how long it lasts. This can easily be avoided by using a oil like coconut oil as the carrier, problem solved.
Once again, I agree with you on lemon eucalyptus, but catnip and citronella need more research. Coconut oil (again, adding a new substances, I see) can be used as longevity extender since it is an unsaturated fatty acids (like you said slows evaporation). Again, they look promising as an alternative to DEET.
>Plus like I said it works great for gnats as well, which is something DEET can't touch.
......in a discussion about mosquito repellent.

People can claim anything they want about Citronella Oil or Lemon Eucalyptus and its effectiveness on insect repellent. Only with science, can we determine if those claims are true. Anecdotal evidence is worthless in science.
I have the Now Foods one and I love it and plan to get a second. I find them all to be overpriced for what they are. I wouldn't mind a non-plastic version too, but the water does not get hot so I doubt there's really a leeching issue. I thought the whole color changing thing was kind of tacky and silly, but now that I have it I kind of like setting it on purple. You can also turn the light off completely which isn't obvious from the description. I don't think a timer is really necessary since they all shut off automatically. I just wish mine held more water.
Also, in the photo it looks like it's purple but it's actually white on top - photo is simulating what it looks like with the purple led on.
I think they talk about something like this. For the Edison bulbs you can check wayfair.com or etsy.com. They have beautiful stuff. Check this for etsy and this for wayfair.
Good luck ;)
I have 3 of this humidifier in my house. The kids use the light as a night light and I like it for the ambiance occasionally. I also bought this set of essential oils to go with it; just a few drops at every use and it humidifies and smells nice. I use the lavender and orange the most and have reordered larger bottles of that. Eucalyptus is great for when we're sick. I think I'm going to get a much bigger one that will last all night. This one is only good for a couple of hours.
For shoes, I just have a LOT. At least 50 pairs of my own. IKEA has some very inexpensive options that look like furniture. I use a similar one to this in the family area for the most commonly used. I use under-bed storage for boots and seasonal shoes. I use [these closet hangers] for most of my heels. And yes, that's still not enough.
Yep! I have this guy.
I haven't had luck with primarily tea scents on my skin yet so I usually just away, but this sounds so nice I'd pick it up for my home! If it works on my skin that's just a bonus. Thank you for your feedback. It's definitely going on my wishlist.
Axe body spray and black ice air fresheners.
For real, basic stuff like dishes, laundry (clothes and sheets), trash, old shit in the refrigerator. General maintenance will keep the smells from mysteriously appearing.
And then, get a candle. You don't need 20. Not every square inch of your place needs to smell like mangos and lilacs. If you have 1, and the rest of the place smells like nothing because you're not an animal and you clean, then that should be enough to give the illusion of your whole house smelling like that first room
EDIT: And if you really want to go all out, this thing works pretty good from what i've seen. I don't actually have one.
I was thinking of getting this, because I've been wanting to try some home type remedies. Been on and off sick with migraines. Wonder if it would help.
edit; also, you're awesome, hope you have a good day. :)
Consumables like super fancy coffee, or a hot sauce set, gourmet salt and pepper grinders something like this, or how about an aromatherapy diffuser with some various essential oils like lavender and sweet orange?
Edit: I can see how a diffuser might not work with allergies but since it's just drops of pure oil into water with no additives and not applied to the skin, maybe things like tea tree oil or spearmint (or something you know for sure she isn't allergic to) won't bother her.
Honestly, I like the MR11 for new(er) folks to start off with. It isn't ridiculously short, it isn't ridiculously long. It has a good neutral feel even though it is fully stainless (the handle).
Ummm, besides that.... the kit will come with an Alum bloc.
Back to the Amazon purchase, one thing that I'd recommend always having on hand from there that has been my favorite for the past few months or so are going to be:
Thayers
and
Tea Tree Oil
I can't really think of anything else off the bat right now.... I'd say that I am selling my Merkur Futur, but I don't think that I'd recommend that as a beginner razor at all. Maybe once you want to try something more aggressive and adjustable that is affordable down the road.
I know this is an old thread, but I saw your question never really got answered.
Carrier oil, the oil that makes up the majority of your mix, can probably be found your local health food store, organic grocery, hippie/smoke shop or maybe even Fred Meyer. You can also get essential oils from the same places. They're the oil that puts off the smell, and they can have benefits in themselves.
Or honestly you can order everything you need from Amazon.
Jojoba oil (carrier oil):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00GJX58PE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?qid=1464522016&sr=8-1&keywords=jojoba+oil&pi=SY200_QL40
Cederwood oil (essential oil):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000MGWIMK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?qid=1464522084&sr=8-1&keywords=cedarwood+oil&pi=SY200_QL40
Tea tree oil (essential oil):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0014UFXCA/ref=mp_s_a_1_11_a_it?qid=1464522236&sr=8-11&keywords=tea+tree+oil
Start with an ounce (30ml) of jojoba oil, add the tea tree and cederwood oils in one drop each at a time.
This should get you started, from here it's just about experimenting and figuring out what you like
Can’t find the link for my specific model, but I got this one for a friend and she loves it

I think I may get this tripod, so I can do more video stuff with my phone. Wholesome video stuff. Comedy stuff. dig the whole deeper, Rosa.
But I'm also eyeing this paired with this so I can start focusing relaxing at home, and maybe it'll convince me to clean my room. MAYBE.
The essential oils sold with diffusers are often diluted - These oils are only meant to make a home smell nice.
I purchased my original essential oils at a health and wellness store (the type that sells whey powder and meal replacement mixes), though you can often find them online for lower prices. I know the brand I use isn't the "best," but for adding a little scent to my hair soap and ACV rinse it works great!
There are the two I have:
http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Rosemary-Oil-1-Ounce/dp/B000MGOYZE
http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Lavender-Oil-1-Ounce/dp/B0009RSP38/
I use about 10 drops per cup of water.
> Which is your favorite?
Cedarwood and lemongrass right now. Those and copaiba with coconut oil for a carrier is what I'm using on my beard currently. I just ordered some Sandalwood and Jojoba oil, so we'll see how those go. I like cinnamon, rosemary, clary sage and orange combo around Xmas time.
In a couple months it's gonna all about the woodsy, citrus vibe. I've got lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, bergamot, spearmint and peppermint, tea tree and eucalyptus already. I'll play with those and see what combo I like. This is the set I originally bought that got me started.
This is gonna sound really weird but buy some glycerin and before you set your foundation/concealer with powder dip your sponge in it and dab it around your face like you would with a face powder and then set it. Glycerin helps lock in makeup like nobodies business! I use this one
https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Vegetable-Glycerine-4-Ounce/dp/B0015C0RIC/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1526022002&sr=8-5&keywords=glycerin&dpID=31aj5X4yB4L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1
Something like this?
It's an essential oils carrying case. holds 64 5-15ml bottles.
That would be perfect for holding wizlabs flavor bottles as well as 5-15ml juice bottles. A little modification would probably allow you to sacrifice a few smaller bottle slots to make room for a few larger 30+ bottles.
How much glycerine are you supposed to use? I've been thinking about getting some for my upcoming meet but can't figure out how much to take. Also, it's just the vegetable glycerine right? I don't see anything about ingesting it.
Edit: Also, congrats on the meet and qualifying for RUM. That's huge!
Wow guys thanks so much for all your replies!
So this would be okay to use? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B006Y6ZA5E/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1518632172&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mineral+oil&dpPl=1&dpID=310rAVvVM2L&ref=plSrch
Its both. This is the one I have at home.
You can get cheaper ones on Amazon like this one.
As for essential oils, I find that lemongrass, eucalyptus and tea tree oils emulate a Thai massage parlor the best. These are the ones that I use. You only to add 2-5 drops each time so a small bottle can last you a really long time.
I made my own menthol additive, so I can freeze my face off with any soap or post-shave.
For example, I added a single drop to my brush today after loading Mickey Lee's Ruby's Green, and then lathered directly on my face. It was the perfect cooling sensation.
Then I added two drops into my palm before splashing Stirling's Coniferous Witch Hazel/Aloe on my face. Intense! (but awesome)
This is what I used:
I put some menthol crystals in a ziploc bag and crushed it with a rolling pin until it was a fine dust. I then put it in a small bottle (I used an empty travel-sized hand sanitizer bottle) and added a small amount of coconut oil to dissolve it, but I consider this optional because the menthol resolidified once the glycerin was added (since requires a certain concentration of oil to stay dissolved).
I don't care to use chemicals like Polysorbate 20 to keep the menthol dissolved, so I just shake the bottle before I use it and it works very well. I don't know if the coconut oil adds anything, so I'll probably skip it next time I make a batch.
I have one of these ultrasonic water misters vs the more expensive, but apparently more effective nebulizers that mists pure oil.
I’m still messing around with the right scents and amounts, but have tried a variety of essential oils to varying effects. A word of caution, as explained in the linked article, regarding kids, pets, and asthma. I personally experienced an incident where my dog had a severe asthmatic reaction to citrus oils I was diffusing. Needless to say, that halted my diffuser experimentation for some time.
I actually wonder whether using wearable fragrances (and their higher amounts of synthetics and IFRA regulations) would be safer then all-natural essential oils. For example, my boys had horrible eczema when we used to bathe them with an all-natural/organic/free-range/kosher/virgin/blah-blah lavender soap. Turns out, they were extremely sensitive to lavender essential oils. Our dermatologist explained that an all-natural oil contains thousands of potential allergens, whereas a synthetic lavender is usually only composed of a few molecules, thus lowering your chances of sensitivity. This, combined with the ongoing IFRA regulation on ingredients (which I don’t think essential oils are subject to?), makes me think it the safer path.
Can anyone say definitely (with science!) that using wearable fragrances with diffusers is better or worse than essential oils?
I bought a diffuser on amazon for around $20 and use it frequently with perfume oils I like, but I don't like on my skin. It works great and a little oil goes a long way!
If you have a favorite soap/cream and wish it were mentholated, why not add menthol to it.
Some artisans will add a little, or a lot, to their products for a minor increase in cost to you.
Or you could do what I did --- I got a 4 oz bag and since it takes so little to mentalize anything (soap, aftershave, etc.) I added the leftover to my will. --- a round-about way of saying get the smallest amount you can.
I also react poorly with any SSRI antidepressant, but this is an old tricyclic antidepressant which has very minimal side effects. You take it right before bed so you'll wake up a bit groggy. But the rest of the day is pretty smooth.
Try peppermint oil immediately. It will give you instant relief.

I usually shoot it with a shot glass and chug water to chase it. It's been a life-saver.
If any of y'all are into essential oils, this is a pretty good sale. Plus, if you need a diffuser you can get $5 off one (info is on the right side of the page). I just recently started using them. Helps with headaches, anxiety and just good smelling.

Yay! I'm so happy to find someone I can help with this! Here's what I use - http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00028MKRQ.
You can do what I said above or use an oil diffuser by your bed when you lie down.
For juice, I use an aroma therapy case. The top row is useless, but you can fit 24 15/30ml bottles in 3 rows. Looks nice, zips up and you can carry them off. glamor shot
I would suggest getting a wax melter and buying soy wax chips on Amazon in bulk. You can add your perfume directly into some chips (just a few drops after you had a handful of chips to the wax melter) and it will make your house smell just as amazing as you! (and you don't need to spend a ton more money) I found linen sprays really don't last that long (scent wise). Alternatively, you can also add drops of perfume to a diffuser. :D
To expand a little;
buy a shampoo, buy something like this, mix the TTO into the shampoo. Most tea tree oil shampoos contain very little actual tea tree and you'll feel the difference really quickly (keep it out of your eyes), use it daily.
Medical shampoos (like the SB you're using) are formulated to address causes of dandruff, which is completely different from whats going on with your scalp, and are a waste of time.
Also, the coconut oil does wonders.
Putting pure TTO on the scalp is a bit tricky, the stuff doesn't spread very far on its own, it will come with a burning sensation, and if you've got thicker hair or are of the long haired persuasion it takes forever to work it into the scalp effectively.
I'd suggest cutting hats out of the wardrobe altogether and getting some sun on your scalp (it helps), or tossing them thru a lethally hot wash cycle to kill the fungus growing in them.
The reason it makes the problem worse is fungus thrives in warm dark and moist environments, which the hat provides quite nicely, also it gets those fungal cells back in contact with your "clean" scalp, which you definitely don't want.
EDIT: Don't use anything else consecutively with the shampoo/TTO mixture. Throwing a whole toolbox at a stubborn screw is less effective than a good screwdriver. Also your dealing with a fungus issue (yes, that's why it appears to like yeast and sugar in your diet), not a bacterial issue, or a dermal drying issue like dandruff.
Don't waste your money getting it there. Places like Amazon sell it way cheaper, like this one. You can get a 1 oz bottle for less than 7 bucks.
I have a small, cheapy one from Amazon, and it's perfect. It was maybe $15 on sale. I don't think you need to spend a lot on one, or get a big one. The small ones will go for hours on the intermittent setting, which is the way to go.
Mine is something like this, but like I said, whichever one it was, I didn't pay full price.
This is the nicest, cheapest and most hydrating moisturizer I've ever used. It lasts forever.... Also for oil control and and natural zit prevention, I mix 2/3 drops of Tea tree oil in the moisturizer and mix it up before applying it.
I use Desert Essence Tea Tree Oil Skin Ointment for the cold (lips, cheeks, neck). And the regular Tea Tree Oil to help with breakouts. Quick applications after shower. I try to buy the 1-2 oz. Smaller and easier to carry around.
These are pretty cool, too, if you're into diy:

I initially bought this sampler pack when I purchased the diffuser and I really like the lemongrass and orange and have since bought more of them. The tea tree and eucalyptus both smelled like cleaning products to me and I didn't use them much.
you can buy menthol crystals and dilute it with PG to make your own mixture that will last years for like 12$.
120ml of propylene glycol.
2oz of menthol crystals.
2oz is way, way too much so if you can buy less definitely do. crush up 1g of menthol crystals and add it to a spare, clean bottle. drop in 10ml of PG for a 10% dilution or 20ml for a 5% dilution. etc. After it's mixed heat the bottle slightly in a warm water bath and shake until the crystals dissolve. You can make this as strong as you want up to a point. Solubility in Propylene Glycol is up to 50% and solubility in alcohol (everclear) is greater than 100%.
after you've made this dilution add exactly one drop to a juice you'd like to have a menthol kick to it. This is why this mixture will last a very long time. if you have another clean bottle you might want to try a small amount mentholated before you destroy the whole thing with more than 2 drops. also, starting with 1 drop will help you learn how much menthol you need. you can't go backwards, there is no undo-ing a drop. you'll have more room to screw up if you make a 5% diliution instead of a 10% one.
I did this about half a year ago, 10% in a 30ml bottle and use it pretty regularly. i am not even halfway through the mixture. I only used 3g of the menthol and have around 20g left.
as an aside if you end up sick and your nose clogs up you can drop .5g of menthol crystals into boiling water and inhale deeply. You'll clear right up every time with the added bonus of turning the surrounding area into a mentholated biohazard zone/war crime.

I'm not sure what you mean about the 5% tea tree oil? This is the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Tea-Tree-Oil/dp/B000ELP5KA?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0
Which states it's 100% tea tree oil. I'm not sure if that's what you are talking about or not. Additionally, I have a potential allergy to benzoyl peroxide (it's been a top ingredient in 3 different serums I've tried that all gave me a rash on my face) so I stay away from it.
I've been trying to look around for some reputable sources to determine whether or not it's bad to apply the oil directly to your skin. The best source I've found has been WebMD, which states that you can apply 100% pure tea tree oil directly to the face. Most articles, including this one, are indicating that unless you have sensitive skin, there shouldn't be any issues.

Oh my god don't spend $50 on a diffuser! You can seriously use any glass bottle with a narrow opening, 25 drops of any essential oil from Whole Foods or any health food store/stores that sell tarot cards and witchy shit (or online, like this on amazon), 1/4 cup of a carrier oil like sweet almond oil or safflower oil, and throw that in your glass bottle with some bamboo skewers. Then you have a reed diffuser and tons of refills, and you can mix essential oils for whatever scent you want.
this is what you're going to buy! :)

I use a few drops of tea tree oil in a small bowl of cool water, get my hands wet with the mixture and coat my entire foot. It'll probably sting a bit the first few times if it's as bad as you describe, but it'll improve fairly quickly.
Forgot to answer migraine question. Excedrin kind of helps, but I'm a bit gun shy of that medication. I took it for a while and actually got hooked - ugly, huh? I've seen a neurologist and suffered from migraines since my teenage years. At one point I had them as much as three times a week. I'm on Topamax daily preventive and have a couple of reactive options as well. OTC stuff doesn't work too well.

For ripped hands and scrapes I've found that the best product to expedite the healing process is Tea Tree Oil. You will see a noticeable improvement just a couple hours after applying it to the affected area and in a day or two the skin should be close to fully healed.
I haven't tried using prep h, but this stuff works and is definitely less embarrassing to buy.
Edit: Also, I can confirm that the feeling of applying new-skin to a recently torn hand is probably the most painful 3 minutes I have ever experienced.
Hopefully this works item most used app is facebook?
Oooh I have always wanted one of those. I have tried one at a friend's house and never really got to buy one. Aromatherapy is really relaxing to me and uh FLAX. And for fabric any polka dots or anything lime green is preferred if not, totally ok :D
Amazon and eBay are easy sources.
DO NOT use home fragrance oils, they're meant to be burned it's not good for your skin at all. Those could work for candles though. Not well, but they work.

As a squeamish female that lives on her own and is plagued with motherfucking Brown Recluse's on a daily basis this is the safest way to keep everything out of the house. Plus, your house will smell amazing.
I'm curious why you didn't link these oils, that have an average of 4.5 stars out of 7,873 reviews and instead linked ones that have 4.2 stars out of 12 reviews?

Weird question: where can I buy an electric scent diffuser (similar to this) in Amsterdam?
Edit: Thanks for the answers! Now to choose one...
Is this mineral oil okay for oil cleansing?
I was in the store about to buy one but eventually put it back because I couldn't stomach paying $120 for the large diffuser. You can find many copies on Amazon for a 1/5th of the price.

I like this one because it's not a plastic eye-sore. Although it only runs for 6-8 hours depending on how full you fill it.
Don't bother buying the next mL size up...its the exact same base as this one but with the fill line drawn up higher...

I got this diffuser and these oils. No issues with either other than the oils smell too delicious. It's all good though, I'm passing them on to my mom who has trouble eating enough due to a recent surgery, so it kind of all worked out in the end!
No problem! My 'recipe' is 90% mineral oil + 10% Polysorbate 20 (can get from ebay) and 3 drops of tea tree oil. Put it in a pump bottle which water can't get into, otherwise you'd also need to add a preservative.
Edit I bought my Polysorbate 20 and Mineral oil from amazon. The tea tree oil is optional.
I take a few drops of this. If it's particularly bad I sometimes put a larger amount in a gel capsule. It is VERY potent, you might just go straight for the gel caps and avoid getting it on your tongue.
I bought a humidifier that also does oil diffusing. We got it when we both got kind of sick with crappy coughs a few months back. I don't know if it actually helps, but I doubt it hurts.
My SO is an incense type of dude so he's enjoying putting in eucalyptus oil in the evening when we're just sitting around or watching TV. I bought this one and it's going strong, so far. It lasts all night.
