Continued because it was too long lmao

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals.
I honestly really want to get into acting. I love movies and TV shows, and I really would love to start acting. For that reason, this book would be a great addition to my library and would probably teach me a lot.
This book also looks like it would be a good learning experience. :)
I found another great read! I'll pretty much take any acting books I can get.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items.
Pop Funkos are honestly my go-to add-on item. Like this little fella, for instance. Adorable and affordable (did I just make up a saying? I do believe I did).
What's that? Ah, yes. Pops. The source of my broke-ness. Have another..
Oh, you think I'm done. HA. I'm too far deep to dig myself out of the hole that is my ever-growing collection of Pops. Infinity War just came out (no spoilers, I really want to see it but haven't gotten the chance yet), so how about this adorable Thor Pop? Who doesn't love Thor?

13.) Something fandom related. (Sports fandoms are acceptable- bonus if someone figures out my favorite team)
My favorite band happens to be Twenty One Pilots... and this is a pretty sick shirt.
I'm sorry, I'm still thinking about Infinity War from up above. I found a Thanos shirt that is honestly super cool. Like I've never seen it before and now I want it lmao.
I recently got gifted this absolutely gorgeous and cool Hawkeye T-shirt. It has BOTH Hawkeyes from the comics on it! Super cool.

14.) Something ridiculously priced, more than $10,000. They exist, y’all.
Who the absolute heck buys a $180,000 watch?! Not me, that's for sure.
I'm honestly not even sure what this is, but it's expensive as heck and you could put that money toward an ACTUAL CAR.
Y'all need a parking lift? I gotchu.

15.) Something with sharks or unicorns.
Who doesn't love socks?. Especially socks with unicorns.
You ask for sharks, I get you sharks.
Also no joke this is the cutest thing I've ever seen oh my gosh.

16.) Something that smells wonderful.
I have a cinnamon candle (not that exact one) and I absolutely love it to death.
Who doesn't love coconut lime? I know I love it.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "damn, I really like me the smell of cilantro"? Well, look no further.

17.) A toy that you wanted or had when you were a child that was the best ever, or (if it’s not on amazon) a toy that you think is pretty cool now (Funko Pops, etc., will count.)
If you never played Clue, did you ever really have a childhood?
Another cool toy I had was something like this cool tent-like bus. The one I had had separate sections that were detachable. It was super cool.
I know it's not technically a toy, but I used to watch The Land Before Time ALL the time. I still love that show. It's so, so good.

18.) Something that would be helpful for writers.
Just getting started on writing? Writing for Dummies is always a good place to start.
If you're writing (especially on a computer), you're gonna eventually need some Advil, whether it's from writer's block or a headache from staring at the computer screen too long.
I know it might not be considered useful, but I always thought an ink pen was super cool to have, especially for writers.

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be.
I don't know why, but I suddenly really like Harley Quinn's character. I've been getting, like all the Funko Pops of her. I have a problem.
Oh gosh, you shouldn't have asked. I finally finished catching up to The Walking Dead, and now I want everything Negan related. Like, seriously, I just bought a bloody Lucille of my own. Someone stop me. Anyway, here's a cute little Lucille keychain that I've never seen before.
Another thing I really like is Kylo Ren, but I think you already know that. This BrickHeadz is adorable.

20.) Something that is just so random and weird that it makes you laugh.
This oh my gosh i am dying.
Also idk why but just the lady's posture and the huge heckin' bear is k i l l i n g me.
I don't know how I stumbled upon this weirdass thing but the more I look at it the funnier it is.

Also, this whole thing took me like an hour but it was so much fun. Thanks for the contest!

Graco lounger ( pretty much Graco version on rock and play) this was one of those items i held off on but man is it amazing and glad i got it.

At home i used my moby daily until LO was about 4 months after than my favorite thing was my Ergo 360.

I really liked having a bassinet near my bed but LO only liked this for a few weeks and once i finally got him to like his crib ( about 2.5 mths ) we moved the crib to by my bed until he was 6 mths or so.

My best and most treasured item after he was out the newborn stage was the zipadeezip, this thing saved my sanity and finally got my kiddo sleeping long stretches and in his crib. Kiddo hated swaddles.

Halo swaddles are nice for the start and i used these a lot in his first month but then he refused to be in them.

This Socks on allows me to use any socks and not loose them - Sock Ons Clever Little Things That Keep Baby Socks On! 3 Pack Boys 0 - 6 Months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091WJN2E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_LsPjxbYPHYJ87

Getting a few lingerie bags to wash socks in will also be helpful - i keep 1 at the laundry hamper and put socks and mittens in then when out the wash i just put it away in the bag, really haven't lost any socks or mittens using this method combined with the socks on

Outfits that allow you to fold the cuffs over will help with newborn talons that they always slash themselves with even thou you cut them every few days.

I love the bathtub we went with, he used it as a newborn and still does at 17 mths -Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Sling N Seat Tub https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2MQ0EQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_5GPjxbRNH9R6W

If in the US look at target (cartwheel too) for amazing deals they usually have formula and diapers with giftcards back. I have walked out with $70 in giftcards.
They usually can have buy 2-3 giant diaper packs get $30/$20 back, buy 3 cans of formula get $20 back and spend $150 get $20 back so if you get those all together it is awesome.

Oballs really last a lifetime.

Some sort of playmat, mine could lay on his for so long kicking around.

Gratz on your little one and good luck, you are going to be an amazing mom.

Edit to add: love my diaper genie ( LO now tosses his diapers away for me it is adorable) and also Love Dr. Brown bottles (lots of parts but love the bottle) the Dr. Brown sanitizer and warmer were also used a lot.

u/bakinglove · 1 pointr/InfertilityBabies

Our girl is 8 days old- things we've used everyday are the pack n play in the living room. The one I registered for has "portable changer/napper". Other ones have reversible changer napper. Only difference with the portable one, you can snap out the napper and put it on the floor. I anticipate we'll take this to our in laws for short day trips, but who knows! Pack n' play we got. The swaddles are hard to predict what baby might like. We were also gifted a pair of zip up newborn swaddles that have worked well for nighttime so far. We still swaddle her in a muslin one over this but it seems to keep her squirmy hands contained without pissing her off too much. Bonus: you can up zip from the bottom to check diaper without unleashing the full naked baby wrath. Swaddleme newborn pod of course these things depend on your babies size and length but they've works great so far (baby girl was 8lbs 9oz at birth, 21"). Also second getting soft washcloths- Ive liked the bamboo ones a friend got us. If you do have a regular changing pad with cover, I'd suggest getting something to put on top of the cover so you don't have to be washing and changing that as often. Bamboo covers but there are lots of options for these.
I love these kimono style newborn shirts (we got short sleeve since it's still hot here). So much better than a onesie until the cord stump falls off. Also easier to put on and take off a sleeping or fussy baby, not to mention easy diaper checks! Newborn shirts
Other stuff we use every single day:
-good diaper organizers around the house (nursery, living room, etc). We have 2 different ones from SaraBear and I like them both
-tons of wipes- you may not want to register for any newborn diapers, we got a lot gifted to us. Luckily our girl hasn't grown out yet, but I'm glad we have 1s on stand by
-Brestfriend pillow if you plan to breastfeed. I was suggested to bring it to the hospital and I'm so glad I did- it really helped with early breastfeeding especially when I wasn't totally comfortable moving around in bed and adjusting 1,000 pillows. Much more secure in my opinion than Boppy.
Good luck!

Now, I don't know what baby showers/gifts are like in Holland, but atleast in the US, it seems like everyone LOVES to get baby clothes. So, unless you have a really special outfit in mind, I probably would skip the baby clothes, or atleast get clothes in bigger sizes. I got a ton of newborn and 0-3 month clothes at my shower. Maybe if you're doing a variety basket, you could throw in a few pairs of baby socks or a little hat or something. Especially if it's going to be a fall/winter baby, finding a cute winter hat could be fun. On amazon, I found a pair of matching winter hats- one that fits mom, and one that fits baby! https://www.amazon.com/oenbopo-Parent-Child-Warmer-Daughter-Crochet/dp/B01LXB35YQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=mom+and+baby+hat&qid=1565279915&s=gateway&sr=8-1

As for more of the "essentials", I would definitely check her registry. This can atleast give you an idea of what she already knows she needs, or if there are any certain brands she seems to prefer. There are always things like thermometers, baby nail clippers, medicinal stuff (gripe water, gas drops, desitin, etc) bottle brushes, even baby toothbrush sets. If she's planning to breastfeed, there are a lot of pretty nursing covers out there. Some of them are even multi-functional and can also be used as scarves or carseat covers. One random thing that I found at Target were these medela "quick clean micro-steam" bags. They're intended for cleaning pump pieces, but I use them for pacifiers ALL the time. Books are also good, because reading the same 4 books all the time can get a little old :p

And as someone else said, any gift cards for food delivery, or even throwing some coffee into the gift basket are both good ideas.

u/vfxfilmfatale · 2 pointsr/NewParents

we randomly threw this onto our registry because it had spaceships on it, but it turns out that the fasteners are powered by the science of MAGNETS and it is absolutely amazing:

http://www.amazon.com/Magnificent-Baby-Baby-Boys-Newborn-Rockets/dp/B00E0G34DA/ref=sr_1_92?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1410096843&sr=1-92

compared to snaps or buttons, it makes it so unbelievably easy to get the kid in and out of for diaper changes (oh dear lord... so many diaper changes). eventually, we went and bought several more outfits from the same brand at different sizes so we'll have more outfits as he gets bigger.

these clothes are in heavy rotation with our kid and our daycare has told us that if we send him in with these clothes every day, our caregiver will be our best friend.

speaking of diapers, one thing that i wish someone would have gotten us was a gift certificate to our local compostable diaper service. it's pretty cool, they supply the diapers and once a week, they'll haul the dirty diapers out to be composted. not sure if you have that available where you're at, but we really appreciate having it.

here's the service we use in our area:

http://tinytots.com

i love that you're putting so much thought into what you'll get them. i'm sure they'll totally appreciate whatever gift you decide on.

u/JaelynnPinklady · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

What about Ezra? However I do love Ezio!

It was way to hard to choose between these two. Seriously how cute are these?! I wish they had them in my boys sizes! Outfit one / Outfit two

Baby shower ideas:

Games
Also there is a prize thing too where you make lil diapers and you put melted chocolate in a few and whoever opens their diaper and it has poo gets a prize! lol They were a hit at the showers I have been to with them.

Decor idea I love this and thing it is super cute!

Also congratulations on the new addition soon to come! I have two lil boys of my own and they crack me up! Baby tip since you said its the first boy in 3 gens, even if you are just an aunty... Make sure you always have the diaper ready to cover up any sprays while changing! haha Thats one thing I learned real fast with my first son! XD I got peed on so many times! Only once second time around, I had learned my lesson!

u/babybarrel · 2 pointsr/Mommit

I recently went out and bought several types of trainers/potty pants so that I could compare them before I bought into one type. I'm at a similar point as you are where my little guy has been going on the potty for quite a while and doesn't 'produce' much in his diaper so the girl at the store said it's a perfect time to get him into trainers. Keep in mind that the whole point of the trainer is that the baby feels the wetness when they have an accident so be prepared for some spills. You could limit the spills by putting a diaper cover over the trainers.

Here are my fave in order:
Blueberry:
These are great when we're hanging out around the house. If he has an accident they tend not to leak right through. They have nice thickness to them, and I like to let him wear them without a waterproof cover. They have some great designs too so I let him run around the house in just these on hot days.

Bummis:
These potty pants are what they call an all-in-one...they have a waterproof cover so they'll hold leaks in better. I really like how streamlined these are and the inner fabrics are hemp and cotton.

Under the Nile: (http://www.amazon.com/Under-Nile-Organic-Training-Pants/dp/B00FU9H25M/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1404879318&sr=8-7&keywords=under+the+nile+training+pants)
These are almost like regular undies and at this point I find they leak too much for our needs. In the future I can see us using these more since they're adorable, very soft and organic cotton. They should have a waterproof cover over them but the Bummis Pull-On cover (http://www.amazon.com/Bummis-Diaper-Cover-Large-pounds/dp/B008PTZ170/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1404879142&sr=1-1&keywords=bummis+pull+on+diaper+cover) feels very rubbery and I don't like to keep him in it all day.

Gerber:
These are in the same boat as the previous ones...they're just too thin for his needs right now BUT they're a great price and all cotton. I can see us using these a lot once he's better trained.

Just a note...the girl helping me at the store mentioned that even with the waterproof covers these are not really meant for naps or car rides. I would agree. I still put him in his regular diaper for those. When we're hanging around the house though I just make sure to put him on the potty after every meal and nap (or whenever he points) and on those days he has very few accidents.

Excuse the long post...hope it helps...and good luck!

u/Lady_Noodle · 1 pointr/IFParents

I would love a play date but it might be too much handsomeness in one place. And too much awesome hair. Surely that's against the laws of physics?? Something might explode.

The gray pants are just regular Carter's pants but the green thing is a romper that I LOVE. I have three different ones:

Carter's Baby Boys' Striped Sailboat Creeper 12 Months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZY2MD3D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_JzhFaA4pfIoRB

Carter's Baby Boys' 2-Pack Snap up Romper, Crocodile/Airplanes, 12 Months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRCRBD5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_7GnwhVKBVCrHP

u/aka_____ · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

The Amazon brand of Carter's has some good multi-packs.

I liked this one as it's just simple stripes.

These are ok too as a long sleeve option. I tend to dislike cartoon animals on baby clothes but these aren't terrible since they're more of a pattern than a graphic, if that makes sense.

Edit to add: primary.com is excellent as well. All solids and stripes, basically. You can search by color, too. The fabric quality is excellent. They're more than I like to spend, usually, but the quality is worth it. They're having a 40% off sale right now for the holiday.

Once my son hit 6 months we couldn't find footie pj's to fit him because they were all those slim fit ones that were soooooo long and sooooo tight.

These fit like infant pj's but you can get them in larger sizes. He's been wearing them for months and they hold up great. They're not wonderful for walking in as the feet aren't super snug and they tend to slide around but they're great for sleeping.

u/ernieball · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Mom of a long skinny dude here - I love the skinny jeans from Children's Place. I've bought these in 6-9, 9-12, and now 12-18. They've all fit better than any other jeans I've tried so far. Same with these Simple Joys by Carters - I literally just keep buying the same pants in a bigger size every time he outgrows them by length.

u/SailorTits · 3 pointsr/clothdiaps

Mine are knit cotton and feel warm but my house rarely dips below 67 even in the winter. I’m sure you could find wool ones if you live in a colder climate. As for socks, these things are pretty cool

u/lampbowlspoon · 1 pointr/breakingmom

Sock Ons! Seriously, they're pretty goofy looking, but they keep socks on all day. I'm not big on unnecessary baby gadgetry, but they are awesome.

I dont buy any thing that requires me snapping all the way from the leg to the chest... aint nobody got time for that. We ONLY do zippered pajamas at my house. Also to keep socks up we use sock onz which are amazing!!

u/MsPeepers4316 · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Leveret

The make both onsies and two piece sets(without feet). Our favorite pjs by far.

And the two piece sets last for ages. My 4 year old still wears hers we got her at 18 months.

u/zuggyziggah · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

Sock Ons!

I haven't tried them yet - I think it's too cold for bare feet too (we're in MN) but I keep losing the battle of socks so I figure I'll give these a shot this winter.
