1. Zutano Unisex Baby Cozie Fleece Bootie, Gray, 6 Months

    Features:
  • OVER 20 YEARS OF EXCELLANCE — If you’re looking for baby booties that stay on, look no further than “Zutanos”. For over 20 years parents around the globe have tested and fallen in love with our original two-snap baby bootie design. Gentle elastic at the ankle and two snap options for a custom fit keep Zutano booties snug and secure on baby’s feet. Say Hello! to stress free living now that you won’t be constantly picking up (or losing) those pesky baby socks!
  • DESIGNED TO LAST — From the very beginning we carefully chose a unique fleece blend of cotton and polyester that would stand up to extended wash and wear to ensure you get the most out of our baby slippers. Many of our customers have told us a single pair held up through the years and multiple active babies!
  • FUNCTION AT ITS FINEST—We use high-quality snaps on our booties instead of Velcro. Why? Because YKK snaps are rugged and won’t wear out. Velcro may work great at first but after several washes and crawling around on the floor will start to collect debris and will become less reliable over time.
  • GROWS WITH YOUR BABY — Our adjustable boots for baby boy or baby girl will grow with your little one and will tighten or expand for a custom fit. When baby starts walking and standing up check out Zutano Gripper Booties for that extra traction!
  • OUR CUSTOMERS ARE #1! — Zutano has become a household name over the years thanks to our loyal customer base of parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and gift-givers alike. We strive to provide the best experience possible for our customers and love to hear from our fans. If you have a heart-warming story about our booties or if you simply have a question please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

A couple things you might want to consider but your list looks good! And like you and others have said you'll probably get other clothes because people love to buy tiny adorable clothes. If you get items that aren't practical or duplicates you might think about returning and using the funds later to fill in any gaps in baby's wardrobe. Unless of course the items are sentimental or the gift giver will take it poorly...

Ok my things to consider:

  • Because baby might be long you might want to try and find sleepers that don't have feet so they last a bit longer. Hanna Anderson has them but they can be pricey. Then you can do socks (if they stay on) or booties (Zutanos makes ones that stay on, we loved them!)

  • You can get a few onesie extenders to maximize the life of your onesies

I am a HUGE fan of Robeez for early walkers. They worked great for my son! There's a soft sole sandal version for warmer weather, too. We didn't use the sandal style because it was fall/winter when my son started walking, but if they're as good as the full shoe then you'll love them.

As far as sizing - they're pretty true. I bought my son the 12-18 month Robeez and he started wearing them around 12 months. He's 17 months now and they still fit. He's just now grown out of 5T Converse and I put him in 6T Vans last weekend. So I'd say the 12-18M Robeez are the equivalent of a 5T and a 6T (as they tend to be a bit forgiving with the elastics and typically span a few sizes).

Orgrimmar has some amazing leather-soled shoes with a couple rubber circles on the sole to prevent slipping. Unfortunately their size large is equivalent to a toddler size 4ish and they don't get larger.

Vivobarefoot's toddler shoes are great as far as the shape / toe box, but surprisingly stiff. Also expensive.

The shoes by Plae and See Kai Run that I've seen in consignment stores (though never in the right size) seem perfect - durable, wide, flat, and super flexible! I just can't quite bring myself to spend $50 on shoes that will be too small in a month and a half...

Last year we got these crocs ones, which I can't recommend as a waterproof boot, but they were easy to get on and new-ish walker friendly.

Everyone loves baby bogs, and they are especially good for the smaller ones who still aren't super coordinated. We went with classic bogs this year, and we have a pair of See Kai Run waterproof boots/hightops that we bought for hiking this summer.

I agree with the others, the dress is cute and perfect for easter.

And shiny patent "party" shoes like this and this were my favorite as a little girl.

And if they make "click" sounds as she walks they'll likely be her favorite shoes and she'll want to wear them all the time.

Any toy that's sorting, stacking, and able to carry and move from place to place (a basket and Easter eggs at the moment). Leapfrog makes a tea set that she loves (but you'll be singing the songs for days). Sidewalk chalk and the box it came in. 360 sippy cup. Sturdy Velcro shoes. Extra utensils and cute bibs to take to restaurants.

I do! So we just went through some shit where all these water shoes we tried either ran big, like absolutely gigantic, or the ones that fit had weird seams on the inside that rubbed my kids foot raw and bleeding. We ended up getting THESE Carter's Floatie water shoes.

They fit true to size, come in cute patterns, are fairly priced, have no razor sharp seams, have a real sole on them so your kid can walk over sand and rocks and other various sea shit without killing their feet, and they pull on really easily. They're also just nice for playing around in. My kid likes to go to this fountain in our neighborhood park and boop around so I can just throw her in these and not worry about her getting her sneakers soaked. They dry out quick because they're made out of this kinda scuba suit material.

I let my kids wear those for the warmer months: https://www.amazon.com/Mejale-Leather-Moccasins-Anti-skid-Prewalker/dp/B014CSCTHC/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1536056873&sr=8-9&keywords=toddler+shoes+leather&dpID=51LeN7%252BZDrL&preST=_SY395_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

They are cheap to buy and we actually make them ourselves. My wife even created a model for the summer that lets in more air. We usually have a pair for indoor and outdoor use and sometimes one extra for indoor sports. My 4 year old daughter now even rides her walking bike in these shoes without destroying them by braking hard with her toes (like she would with thicker soled shoes). She now brakes in her leather moccasins like she does barefoot: by taking a few very rapid steps. I just love to watch these biomechanical adaptations that happen when strolling/waling/running barefoot or in very minimalistic shoes compared to thicker rubber soled shoes. Also has anyone noticed the what happens when you make your kids wear regular (high heeled) sneakers? They tend to stumble over their own feet and fall down more often than not. My wife and I use the term "clumsy shoes" when we see some kids running on the playground...
Also if you need to buy more sturdy shoes for fall/winter look for cheap models with thin and bendable rubber soles/ wide shoebox in supermarkets. You can easily remove the insole and have a very minimal shoe for a minimal amount of money. Also for winter shoes try flea markets or buy used children shoes. Winter boots are always a bit more of a compromise between minimalism and cold protection. Shoes marketed as minimal still have a rather small market segment and are hard to find used and are maybe a bit harder to resell. As kids only were them for one season or so its best to buy used/ or cheap in my opinion.

Are you an online shopper?

I am, and I’m really excited about the Squatchi that I ordered a few months ago.

No more guessing on shoe sizes. Ever. It’s great.

My daughter is outgrowing her first pair of shoes so I’ll be using it again very soon.

As for shoe recommendations, we went with these. Our pediatrician recommended soft soled shoes for new walkers. These were inexpensive and the quality is good. They’re pretty wide too.

"Oh my gawd the SUUUGGAAARRRR!!!" (First thing that came to mind lol)

My child is my wonderful daughter, Zoey. It's hard for me to pick a favorite memory, she does something new every day to crack me up.

She needs some new shoes!

u/derpyderpkitten · 4 pointsr/beyondthebump

The newborn socks having non slip soles is hilarious. I'm leary to use the crib shoes outside, I would think the rough cement side walk would scratch them up in a day!

While I was browsing around for shoes I did come across these grip socks with straps, perhaps try those out.

I also came across these flyknit shoes, I'm going to order them (free returns anyway if it doesn't work out). They look comfy, seems stretchy so perfect for fat feet and have a very flexible sole :-P

Water shoes are so much better than sandals. They are more comfortable, easy to put on, they stay on, keep out dirt and pebbles, are cool because of the mesh, and they have slip-proof soles.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

my life savers!!!!

These are socks but have a sole so they are comfortable and serious non-slip

I use to buy them at target but I don't know if they have them anymore as that was 7 years ago.

u/mawema · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

We bought something like this - although I think a different brand - and they worked great to stay on during crawling.

I'm wondering is too. My little one is almost 10 months and has been walking pretty well, so I know I'll want something this summer for the park. We too have some robeez shoes and they are great! I did see some stride rite sandals, I think they were called fisherman? They looked decent, but pricey. How important is the soft soles? Sandals I've seen for infants all have hard soles :/

Here's what I was looking for for my girl. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EPN4B8/ref=gno_cart_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I like the closed back and front so she's not getting mulch all in her feet. I only paid about $15 for the robeez on sale, not sure about $30 for sandals!! And the soles look hard.

u/maamaallaamaa · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

We used these booties until my son was truly walking and needing something for outdoors: https://www.amazon.com/Luvable-Friends-Fleece-Booties-Bottom/dp/B00X21MRHI/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=velcro+booties&qid=1568389924&sr=8-1

Then we switched to a pair of tennis shoes from Target- Surpize by striderite. They are velco, the tongue opens up wide enough to get his foot in, and they have flexible soles.

Here are some 10$ knock offs with snaps, whoohoo! I got two pair and am very pleased with them:
