Played with it a couple times. I hear it takes a while to break in. For indoor use, here are some of my recommendations:
EDIT: Update
1.) This is my ultimate "If you're having a bad day, let me make you feel better" story.
Back when I was about 17 years old, I had a long distance relationship with a girl from New Mexico. We called each other, talked on AOL, etc. I really wanted the opportunity to meet her, so I hatched me a little plan.
I had recently graduated from high school and didn't get any kind of gift, so I asked my dad if I can go and visit her as my gift. More blown away when he said yes, I could not have been. I get packed and I am psyched. I haven't been out of the state in a LONG time, I get to see my girl, everything's coming up TTOD! Oh you poor, poor man...
I get to Albuquerque and am met at the terminal by her father, sister and brother-in-law-to-be. They're all really nice, told me my girl had ran to the restroom. She came around the corner, saw me and stopped in her tracks. I knew the look in her eyes. It's unmistakeable even to those who don't study that kind of thing.
She was disappointed. Big time.
I'm scrambling to delude myself into thinking this can be salvaged. We head to the car and drive to Roswell...and then to the outskirts of Roswell. BODIES ARE PROBABLY BURIED WHERE WE WENT. On the way, my girl snuggled up next to me so I'm thinking (praying) hey, maybe it was just initial shock.
We finally reach her family's trailer and I got settled before popping in her room. Her dad quickly followed wanting to have a chat with us. He asked that since we now got to see each other face to face that we take some time, feel things out and if we still feel how we did prior to my arrival, he trusted us.
Basically, I had just been given the golden ticket that millions of teenage boys dream of. I asked her if she minded if I slept in her room with her or if she'd like me to sleep elsewhere for the night. She requested the latter which was no big deal. I wanted her to be comfortable regardless of any sexual activity. After all, we had two weeks to enjoy each other. Oh, I didn't mention I was supposed to be out there for two weeks?
The next day comes, I have breakfast and find myself back in her room. We start making out a bit, but she wasn't really into it. Again, not a big deal as I've never been into pressing anyone into anything they don't want to, especially at a sexual level. I went out to the living room and chilled with her sister and BILTB as we watched a slice of the week long Tom and Jerry marathon on Boomerang. My girlfriend came out of her room and approached the coffee table before placing a folded up piece of paper on it.
I'll tell you this: I didn't know exactly what that said, but I knew I had a better chance at winning the Powerball jackpot than that note being anything remotely positive. This became even more apparent when she went back into her room and locked the door. With the thought of "Welp, may as well read this" in my head, I unfolded the paper and read five words that sent me into an emotional spiral.
My heart sank while breaking, I was sick to my stomach, tears started to well. All this because of five words: Can we just be friends?
I flew half a country, ending up in If We Kill You, No One Will Ever Find Your Corpse, New Mexico only to get dumped within 24 hours of my arrival. Fuck. Me.
I phoned home and told my parents what happened, admitting my stupidity. After working the phones, they got my sentence reduced to 11 days, and that's how it felt. Like a prison sentence. I've never been to prison, mind you, but I was alone, scared and had no way out.
Over those next 11 days, her parents were disgusted with her actions. She was around maybe four of those days. She brought a friend by to accuse me of sexual assault. Her family did everything possible to make my trip enjoyable. I'd never been so happy to have a Tom and Jerry marathon and inexpensive big bottles of some of the best chocolate milk I'd ever tasted at a nearby convenience store.
On the day I was to leave, I couldn't get a ride to the Albuquerque airport via her family because there was a sandstorm. I rode a bus through the sand and nearly missed my flight out to Denver INTL as a result. After touching down in Denver, I had to out and out sprint from one side to the other and barely made my flight home.
I arrived back home at about 11 PM. The cool, moist air felt like a washcloth slapped against my left eye which waters. That caused me to rub it raw in New Mexico.
One hell of a graduation present and one hell of a lesson learned.
2.) I'd really like to get one of these. Reason being that my father passed several years ago and he loved to play basketball. He even did so for a local high school.
With only a few tips from a friend who coaches and some YouTube videos, I'm trying to improve a skill started from scratch. I can't get a consistent shot down and think this may help. I'd hope so anyway.
Whenever I go to the court to shoot around, not only do I feel at peace as I get to be in my own little world away from the stresses of life, but I feel some level of bond I'll never have with my dad on this physical plane again. He wouldn't want me to be sad when remembering him, and whenever I shoot around, I can't help but think of him.
Fulfilling his wish, I always have fun. I don't go to a tombstone or maybe a special place and just sit. I get to play the game my dad loved, work on losing some weight and try to master a new skill.
If you're willing to do more than one item, he and I both sweat horrifically easy, so one of these would be a fantastic compliment.
Thanks for the contest and I hope you enjoyed my tale.
It's really hard to pick a "best basketball", as it depends a lot on preference, whether you like softer / stickier balls or tougher ones, deep or shallow gooves, etc.
That being said... Being the uk and this time of the year, I assume you're gonna play indoors. The ball I use is this Wilson NCAA replica, and I very much enjoy it. That being said, it is a very sticky / grippy ball, so if you handle / dribble it a lot I can see it being a bit rough on the hands, since it doesn't "slide" in your palm like other basketballs.
On the other side of the spectrum, I also have a Spalding TF-250 for outdoors play, and the composite material is very tough and more on the slippery side. Also more durable.
Other than that, Molten balls I've played with also tend to be pretty nice, kinda middle-of-the-road-ish (I think it was the GM7 that I'm thinking of). Probably more durable than the Wilson too, since it's not quite as soft.
For runners on a budget...
I've had the best luck with looser fitting and longer shorts- nothing fancy either, just stuff I've gotten from Walmart. I bought a couple sizes up so that they sit lower on my waist (and more loosely there, too) and just adjusted them with the drawstrings. I've got like 5 pairs that look just like this, but a few inches longer. And again, sized up. THe looseness I think keeps them from really feeling like they're even there so it's very airy.
I also wear basketball shorts a lot. You know the kind- like this. Doesn't matter if it's men's or women's. Never had an issue with them riding up, regardless of length. Do they look as cute? Maybe not. Do they fit their purpose? Certainly.
I have never tried any of the ones you recommended, but the one I use a lot is this one Zi/O. It is great for indoors and does pretty well outdoors too. I like that its tacky and not rubbery like most outdoor balls. It does wear out after a while but it still has that leathery feel to it.
I already ended up ordering from the site, but I found out amazon has the same product with free shipping with prime membership haha :)
http://www.amazon.com/Mission-Athletecare-132303CG-MISSION-Court/dp/B00750NBGI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394345095&sr=8-1&keywords=Mission+Court+Grip
These are good when you make it, but I highly recommend the slightly more expensive version with a net: http://www.amazon.com/SKLZ-Rapid-Fire-Return-180-Degree/dp/B00N0NGU44
It is strongly made for any weather and does a great job helping you get reps and returns most of your misses.
I saw on Woot.com for $75, so keep an eye out on discount sites if you are strapped for cash.
If you're prioritizing price and durability, the Spalding NBA Street ball is a decent choice: https://www.amazon.com/Spalding-NBA-Street-Basketball-Official/dp/B0009VELG4/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1537646004&sr=1-4&keywords=outdoor+basketball
It's only like $15. It's rubber, so it's definitely gonna feel "cheaper" than a nice indoor-only ball, but it's made to be played outside and shouldn't get messed up from snow and ice. Should also be fairly easy to grip even if it gets somewhat wet.
Another option is an indoor/outdoor basketball like this: https://www.amazon.com/Spalding-NBA-Indoor-Outdoor-Basketball/dp/B000A7OUE0
About $30, and will feel more similar to an indoor game ball, if that's important to you. I suspect that ball gets a little more slippery when wet.
Best and cheap don’t mix. If you’re going for an outdoor ball, don’t buy leather; get something that will last. If you’re going indoor, get The Rock. It’s like 60$ and my favorite ball to play with indoors.

For men. I love these ones so much I bought 3 pairs. They use locking zippers, you flip the zipper tab down and they won't budge.
For women. These seem to only have one zippered pocket on the back but they advertise it as being large enough for things like keys, credit card and phone. I can only assume they use the same locking zippers.
My hips and butt already look oddly larger than my upper body so I wouldn't ever want to add bulk in that area, but a pair of padded shorts (sorta like this) might not be a bad idea to fill in the areas the pants don't pad
What I currently wear working high level junior;
Player shin pads, frlan padded pants (pocket logo removed), a cup, volleyball kneepads as elbow pads(might change this up soon), a padded shirt when I lines.
Knee sleeves if not needed due to a prior injury to me seem like they will just cause muscle imbalances and a dependency on them, lace bite pads are an only when needed thing. I wouldn't try and add to much gear on because you don't want to feel to bulky and slow yourself down
Also as the hockey gets better, not only do the players shots get harder, but they get smarter too, and you get more mobile and agile. It becomes more rare to take a shot because players know to look for you. You'll still take the odd one when it's deflected at you and such but there more rare. If you watch an NHL game the officials don't often get in the way, and if they do it's the puck stuck in their feet along the wall with 6 guys holding it there. You're not going to get hit in much other than the skates and shin pads on those plays

first of all, make sure it isn't ringworm or some funny skin infection like that.
You can do a few things if it's just clogged pores.
You can wash right after class using defense soap or other soap branded for grapplers.http://www.defensesoap.com/
I've also used basketball sleeves as well.
http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Shooter-Sleeve-Black-Size/dp/B002K78QYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343146351&sr=8-1&keywords=basketball+sleeve
I use this hoop rack
It was a bit of a pain to put up but it holds a lot. I think I have about...16 hoops on there now, of various sizes and thicknesses, and theres plenty of room for more (you may be able to see it in my last video...)
I have also heard of people using garden hose hangers to hang hoops on - bonus is that you can get some pretty designs.
> Wilson NCAA
This ball right here or the offical one?
https://www.amazon.com/Wilson-NCAA-Replica-Game-Basketball/dp/B002XLWE3K?th=1&psc=1
Is it better than Nike true grip? I want something as close to the evolution as possible since that is the ball our tournaments uses. I understand that the evo is a no good ball for outdoors.
We had this, it was called Medicball in western PA. Two medics per team wore pinneys and would rescue hit players by bringing them back to their side using the roller boards. If one medic got hit, the other medic could save him/her. If both medics got hit, you're f'd.
Also: Pin Dodgeball (sometimes called Pinball). Hit the pin on the other side of the gym (usually under the hoop) and everyone out on your team comes back in. Or catch dodgeball, where a catch brings everyone back in.
Aye, i know they have a regulated size, but isn't a professional basketball quite a bit heavier than many that people use as cheap fun alternatives? these vs these.

These are colorful and reminiscent of something a lot of people like: Your new socks!
Get this one mate. I've tried a lot over the years and these are the most durable.
I play primarily on coarse concrete courts cause that's all that's around here and these last a fair amount of time and are a lot cheaper from amazon than to buy in Aus by something like $30. Obviously the kind of concrete or cement you play on will determine how long it'll last, no rubber/synthetic leather will ever last long just cause it so harsh to play on.
Don't buy this version IN Aus stores though. For some reason they have the same name but are made differently and are shithouse but they sure as shit price them up.
It takes you 5 minutes to put on a loose over-vest? I'm not saying change uniform. I'm thinking of those light mesh over-shirts you used to use in gym class to define one team (something like this) that would take maybe 10-15 seconds to throw on and could usually be done on the sidelines (or you can wear around your waist like players who keep towels).
Right now the rules say to switch you have to go report your eligibility status to the referee before every play and then the ref has to announce it to the defense before every play. If you want to go back to your original eligibility status, you have to go out of the game or wait for a clock stoppage/timeout.
That's silly and requires the refs to keep things straight which they've shown they can't be relied on to do this. (Just think of how many times the penalty is announced as one # when it was totally someone else; now imagine that being done on an eligible/ineligible play where the defense was told to block the wrong player by the ref announcing the wrong #).
Umm...just get The Rock. You will not be disappointed. Read the reviews.

Definitely Zi/o, but you are right, they don't make them anymore. They renamed them something else, but I can't remember what.
