My sister died and my brother had a nervous breakdown in my early pregnancy, so I'm no stranger to stress! Just remember, babies are born in much worse circumstances. Your baby isn't going to come into the world addicted to drugs or malnourished. You're giving your baby the nutrition and love he/she needs, and you're bringing your baby into a loving family. There is so much emphasis placed on emotional health during pregnancy, but we're still humans. We don't get a bubble with the positive pregnancy test. Life continues, stress still happens. Babies have issues whether their moms were stressed during pregnancy or not. Granted, I will probably feel guilty about every little problem she has, but I will forgive myself for being stressed during pregnancy, and you will need to, too.

I can't say that I handled stress well early on, but I feel like I'm doing okay now, so here's my advice:

  1. Get a deep water tub thing and take baths once a week. I've never been a bath person before getting that because I'm 5'8" and don't really fit in tubs, but that thing is a game changer. I always talk to my baby during baths. She doesn't move, but it's our special time.

  2. Journal. I know it's cliched, but do it. Write letters to your baby, write your own feelings, doodle, draw, find a way to get your stress out of yourself.

  3. Breathe. Sit somewhere comfortable, play relaxing music, and breathe in through your nose for the count of 4, and out through your mouth for the count of 8. Deep refreshing breaths in, everything else goes out. Do it for at least 10 minutes.

  4. Find a way to be active. Do prenatal exercise videos on youtube, go on walks, do something. It really does make you feel better.

  5. Talk to your husband. You know that moment in rom coms when you want to yell at the screen, "Just tell her why you didn't come!" and you feel like it's ridiculous because no one would be that bad at communication in real life? You might be having one of those moments right now. My DH and I have had a few of them during pregnancy, and once we talked about things, we found that we were usually on the same page. Maybe your husband would love to move back east, but thinks it'd be too much for you. Maybe you're having mixed feelings about being a SAHM, and he is too. Maybe he thinks you should talk to your mom about everything, he doesn't feel like he needs to be your only emotional support. Sit down and have a heart to heart. Tell him that you know how hard he's working to get a job, and that you love him so much for it. Share your hopes, fears, and stress with him. You're committed for better or worse. This is just some worse. It'll get better.

I hope some of those help! Sending much love! -M

Bialetti - stove top espresso maker - you'll never need to buy an expensive coffee maker ever again.

Leuchterm 1917 journal for my bullet journal

6in Ruler to go with my journal - fits in the back pocket perfectly

Huhuhero Color Pen Set also to go with my journal -- has every color you'll need and has a really nice thickness. I use a finer tipped Staedtler for writing but these pens are perfect for titles and decorating and under $6 can't be beat

Customizable dog tag

Ahava Dead Sea Bath Salts - for a luxurious bath that won't dry you out

Ramekins for all of your baking needs. It's also fantastic to use for cooking (holding onto spices, separating eggs, etc.) and for serving dips.

Dog Toy Basket - adorable, holds a ton of toys, and looks really chic in my apartment.

Salt and Pepper Mill Grinders - pretty and functional

Bath Overflow Cover - get your water higher for a more satisfying bath

Bath Spa Pillow

Grippy Stand - the BEST stand for any size tablet.. I have two of them they're so good

Hotel Spa Cotton Towel 4 Pack - smallish bath towel with so many uses. I leave then by the front door to wipe the pup's paws.

Popin Cookin 9 Pack - the MOST FUN you'll ever have 9 times over

Tons and tons and tons of books - look under the "available for less money" links for "used" paperback versions that will make them super affordable and they usually come nearly brand new!

Few ideas:

  • colourful bathbomb like blue or pink that turns the water a different color. bubbles are fun too but that’s just an idea for an alternative
  • even for solo baths, I can’t recommend an overflow drain cover hard enough. I cannot have a bath without one now, just way more relaxing with more water. Though if you do this for your sexy bath, definitely have some towels around the tub in case all that extra water spills over when you get moving
  • candles of course. as many as possible without causing a fire hazard =P personally I put them on the counter and away from the bath itself so I don’t knock them over or get burnt accidentally
  • music. make a playlist for whatever mood you want and set it on low on repeat. Doesn’t have to be a big focus like “hey I made this sexy playlist for us” just in the background so it’s not completely silent. Though the quiet is really romantic too sometimes if the rest of your house is quiet. Just hearing the water sounds
  • maybe a space heater if you have one and it’s not too obnoxious. I end up taking long baths and the water cools off too quickly if I don’t have a heater
  • glasses of chilled champagne, wine, sparkling water, or whatever your preference. It’s romantic but also a lifesaver for a long hot bath
  • I don’t know if this one is just me being weird and specific, but,,, a wash cloth? Lol I don’t know, personally I find it sexier washing my partner down with a washcloth and soap rather than a loofah. more intimate. Or hell, just go for soap and bare hands xD
  • fresh fluffy towels and robes or comfy clothes to jump into afterwards if you decide to get dressed =P

I bought something similar to those light stands, but didn't like them....they "cut" into your roomscale zone, and they can not be as sturdy as you really want them to be (the lighthouses shouldn't move even the slightest bit).

I kept them for when i take my vive somewhere else and use as a portable solution. After some research, I use these now and love them...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F3B4YPS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and for actually holding the lighthouse onto the pole...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSMCPKQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

those are totally metal, and worth the slight extra price compared to plastic ones (but you could probably save a little money with the plastic ones).

those poles are great and easy to move too!

hope it helps, and you made the right choice w/ vive, it's the superior HMD by far.

You should get this because if you're living with other guys it will be a huge help to keep your bathroom stuffs separate (though you may still have something like this at the Dorm). Trust me with any roomies it's just easier to keep the bathroom crap separate or people get cranky... Also if I win I would like a GC to help me save toward my IPOD touch :)

You're such a pretty pretty pretty pretty person ;)

Happy birthday! :D Mine was yesterday.

Made me happiest all week: My awesome 'second birthday' my boyfriend and friend are throwing for me today. They woke me up this morning by blaring black Sabbath and handing me a pancake created necroNOMicon. They instructed me to eat it before it eats me.

Favorite food: I love food so this is incredibly hard but right now I would say Udon. I love the tasty broth and noodles :D Sushi is also delicious.

This thing would be pretty awesome.

These are a flimsier plastic than some of the other organizers here. But they do serve their purpose. They have little handles which makes it easy to remove them from the lower shelves of my vanity. They are 12" long which makes them too long to fit the short way on my cart.
Overall would mostly likely repurchase

https://www.amazon.com/STORi-Clear-Plastic-Organizer-5-Compartments/dp/B001B11ZV0/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=stori+5+compartment+organizer&qid=1566731411&s=gateway&sr=8-2

This is a nice heavy duty plastic. It is fairly tall which I like for my foundation bottles, primer bottles, and taller makeup items. It helps them not to tip or rattle around.
Would repurchase.

https://www.amazon.com/Vencer-Acrylic-Compact-Organizer-Powders/dp/B01AEBVRZ6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=vencer+acrylic+makeup+organizer&qid=1566731366&s=gateway&sprefix=vencer&sr=8-3

These are a heavy duty plastic. Some of my compacts are too wide or too tall to fit. For example my Hourglass powders have to go in corner first. And my Bare Minerals powders don't fit at all.
Would repurchase.

This is a basic palette organizer. Not super sturdy but it serves its purpose. My thickest palette is a PM mothership, thinnest would be a Viseart.
Both sit nicely.
Would repurchase.

This is a sturdy brush/pencil holder. I have face brushes, then pencils, then eye brushes. It doesn't seem like it would tip easily, however, it feels crowded. Like the pencils and brushes lean into the other compartments. I would look around for separate cups next time.

The lipstick holders I previously had. There are so many on the market and they seem to be all the same for the most part. I would probably consider getting a gloss one too which helps the taller tubes not to tip.

My favorite thing tho....the clear Mac bullet top. 10/10 for sure!

The acrylic organizers I found on amazon are here and here.

I detail where I found other organizational items in the captions but most of my storage came from Wal-Mart, Dollar General, At Home, or Amazon. I don't think any organizer I have was over $22. In case you can't see the captions I'll list my descriptions.

(1)Is just an overview of my collection, my desk is pretty old and heavy but I want to make it look less ugly.

(2)This container Is from Wal-Mart. I found a similar on on their website but I only paid $10 for this one.

(3)With a pack of organizers I found at Dollar General I separated some lip products by miscellaneous sizes and brands, lip liners and other tall lip products, and then one section that's all WNW Catsuits and bullet lipsticks.

(4)This one has been decluttered recently, I got rid of my WNW shadows since I don't use them so this one looks more bare than others. I keep my Colourpop SS shadows in the smaller containers as well as my ABH Dipbrow Pomade and MAC's Painterly Paint pot. The rest is random mini mascaras, single shadows, a Colorpop SS that's drying out, and a super old Avon quad from 2007 and single shadow of my moms from the early 2000's or late 90s.

(5)Here I separated blushes with the square organizer the set came with becasue I have more blushes than anything and there was a perfect amount of space to store my highlighters in the front, and then my pressed powders and bronzers to the side.

(6)I couldn't find this exact organizer but I got it from At Home. It just perfectly fits some everyday products and lipsticks.

(7) I've been looking for something like this for YEARS. I found this on Amazon and I'll link it in the comment section. Previously I had stored all my palettes in the top drawer of the drawers and had lip products all over my desk. It holds all my palettes, eye brushes, and then a smaller spot for sponges and my eyelash curler. I keep my sponge in this lil jack-o-lantern I got as a gift.

(8)Lastly I have this organizer I also found on Amazon. It's just a five compartment acrylic thing that holds face products, liquid lipsticks, and brushes. I keep my dirty brushes in a Kentucky Derby cup form my birth year.

Ok, so for my whole life I wanted a cordless Dyson vacuum. They’re about $500 but amazing because you literally just charge it and it’s good to go for a couple of days of serious vacuuming. But once I got my Dyson, I realized that it can’t pick up a lot of dirt because it has such a small compartment. Also, it gets stuck on long carpet and doesn’t do well if you have pets.

But, around the same time I got my Dyson, my Mom got the Shark cordless vacuum which runs at about $80. She has rheumatoid arthritis, so vacuuming really hurts her hands. This vacuum was perfect for her and I wish I had gone with it instead of my Dyson. The rollers and dirt compartment are so much better than the Dyson, and it rolls easily on all types of carpet. My mother has three cats and never has to unblock the roller. So this is my definite recommendation.

Things you need on your wishlist: for good baths, for a healthy and satisfyingly sweet snack, and for the best game known to man. Trust me, that last game is one of the most creative games I have ever played.

I summon /u/denygfx because they are a dirty bird who needs to be punished!

The household chore I hate the most is doing laundry because it’s really like three chores in one (sorting, timing, and folding).

  1. I'm grateful that my baby girl is happy and healthy despite some difficulties coming into this world.
  2. I'm grateful for my partner who is so so so kind and loving but also is one of the few people who doesn't let me get away with shit.
  3. I'm grateful for an extended family and in-laws that get along (for the most part) and are fun to be around.
  4. I'm grateful for my job, it's even in the profession of my choosing!
  5. I'm grateful that our one car, THE Subaru, continues to chug along at 180k. Thank you Subaru, we couldn't do it without you.

Wow I am so late on this! Sorry, if you're still interested I was finally able to take a bath last night after receiving this stuff.

I purchased this drain stopper and this overflow cover Together they worked very well together & allowed me to fill my bath probably another 3 inches or so. My bath is fairly old in my apartment & without the drain cover it drains (very slowly) but let's say I'm taking just a 20-30 minute bath, it will be less than half full by the time I'm finished.

I had really bad luck last night - I guess I chose to take a bath when everyone in my building decided to run their dishwasher & do laundry & whatever else so I had 0 hot water & really didn't feel like sitting in lukewarm water forever. I feel like the overflow cover would have allowed me to fill up even farther which would have been nice.

Coupled with some candles & a bath pillow & it would be a perfect bath. I really recommend them. Also for as cheap as the items were they seem pretty durable & with proper care I would say they would last quite a while.

Did not submit wishlist to ISFJ Mom-Santa early enough. Was informed that gifts for me were purchased a while ago, and it is too late... :)

Things that I really enjoy having that I would have enjoyed receiving as a gift, though (even if I got them for myself....):

  • Bath overflow cover: If you're buying for someone who likes baths. Because baths are warm and awesome -- especially living in the relatively chilly midwest USA.

  • Some kind of black light: Worked well as a gift when I was younger -- it would depend on the individual if they are older. It made for a long series of fun, "does this glow?" experiments -- and even now, I'll still sometimes trot it out to see if it glows.

  • More expensive, but a device that gives you information on yourself -- such as sleep quality, activity level, etc. Don't have one myself, but would want want. The more independent it is from me doing stuff to it, the better. For instance, if it can actually detect when I am sleeping, that would be really cool -- even if it is sometimes a little off!

I can't think of many other things that aren't even specific to what I like. I'm definitely trending after my (I think ENTP) Dad in the, "hard to shop for; if wanted a thing badly enough, probably got it for self a while ago instead of waiting arbitrarily for Christmas in order to tell someone to get it/hope someone gets it."
u/saroka · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

In my studio I got lucky with storage but I know that I would get this bag holder as well as collapsible kitchen essentials. A slim trash can helps. If your bathroom has no storage, something like this can help. Hang your spices on the cabinet. Use this in the shower if you need more space. XD I use command hooks near my front door to hold my keys and daily jacket. :)

u/pixelationnation · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Ive got a bunch of little ideas. Fuzzy pants, robes, or shorts like these. Or a nice fuzzy blanket/throw. I love those.

this bath drain will give you an extra 2-3 inches of water in the bath! bath pillows are also a godsend.

If she doesnt already have a phone workout band she needs one. I also seriously recommend fruit infuser water bottles!!

Best of luck.

  • Tape: scotch, packing, duct, and masking
  • Scissors: Ones that actually work
  • Utility knife
  • Sponges and dish scrubbers + dish detergent
  • Bottle brush
  • Toilet brush/wand
  • Broom/Roomba
  • Mop/scooba
  • Vaccuum cleaner if you have carpet
  • Do you use kitchen paper towels? A kitchen towel holder is always nice, but not necessary.
  • Tissues for your nose
  • I like having a shoe rack or hanging shoe holder. If you're a guy, stick to the rack b/c your shoes will fit better.
  • Small kitchen fire extinguisher: your apt probably has one, but if it doesn't, get one
  • Bathroom caddy: http://amzn.com/B0014X7ARI
  • Organizers: I like my kitchen to be wicked organized. I use 1 organizer for my pots, 1 for my pot lids, 1 for my dishes, 1 for my mugs, and 1 for my flat pans/cutting boards.
  • Coffee maker
  • Kettle
  • Electric drill - DIY stuff is so much easier with an electric drill. Also, this accessory: http://amzn.com/B00355GLBY - a must for DIY furniture.
  • Lightbulbs
  • Turn on your electricity and other utils 1 day before you move if you can, or you'll be moving the dark
  • Have you researched your cable/internet options?
  • 1 nice flashlight
  • Ice melt
  • A few stamps + envelopes
  • Quarters in the "quarter jar" if you have to use coin-op laundry
  • At least one extension cord
  • At least one multi-plug outlet. I like the squid style ones.
  • Laundry baskets. I prefer to have two - it buys you a little time.
  • 1 magic marker
  • 1 message board with mail caddy - a nice to have
  • Fridge magnets. I use 1 strand of the curiously strong ones, and that's all I need. Those suckers really stick.
  • Moveall or furniture sliders - a godsend if you live alone. You put them under the "feet" of your furniture and you can push your furniture around with ease.

That's what I can think of now. You can get a LOT of this stuff on craigslist for low cost.

So someone on my original post in r/makeupaddiction thought that I should make the same post here, so I've pasted it below!

Since these things are all over Amazon, I figured I'd review the one I got.

It was packaged really well; in sealed shrinkwrap, baby bubble wrap, big bubble wrap, and then in a nice form-fitting box. So even though the dimensions are listed, and I have a tape measure, I have to say it seems so small in person! But my entire makeup collection fit (except for some of the palettes that were too tall to fit in the palette holder, which is fine since I ran out of slots anyway).

The boxes are not connected, so you can organize them however you want, including the top part (with the foundations in it). Also, each cubby can accommodate either one big drawer or three small drawers, so you can mix and match those too. Each box has two cubbies, for either two large drawer, six small drawers, or half and half, and the boxes have little rubber feeties on the bottom so that they don't scuff each other, or the shelf you store them on. They also came with pre-cut black mesh liners, which I thought was nice (I can take a picture of one if you'd like to see).

If anyone is thinking about buying one of these and would like to see specific pictures of any part, let me know! There are a ton of sellers, but I tried to pick one with a bunch of reviews (that fakespot didn't flag as suspicious). Overall I'm really pleased with it! I was concerned with the size at first, but it's compact and efficient; I actually didn't end up using one of the small drawers, and several of them are sparsely packed.

  • Does she already have Netflix? If so, get her a six-month or one-year subscription. If not, and the setup is feasible for her, get her Netflix!
  • On the same vein: Could she use an upgrade to her system? Maybe a blu-ray player with built-in video apps! I got mine at Costco for about $80.
  • Maybe something fun or silly, like these book socks or (if she's a drinker) this book on literary cocktails.
  • There's also this reader's bathtub caddy that, personally, I would love. It's beautiful, it holds your cup of tea or glass of wine, and keeps you from getting your book wet. Win.

>Ever since I watched this video of a boxer getting motivated in the corner between rounds by his coach, it fascinated me. The focus of the boxer, the energy of the coach the belief that he had in him, you can see in both of their faces, just unreal... It gave me goosebumps. I really wanted to replicate that feeling by myself and I couldn’t just find some guy to shout at me every day so I decided to be that guy myself. The boxer and the coach. I started reading motivational books, printing motivational quotes and hanging them everywhere. Talking to myself in the mirror, repeating all those phrases, believing in myself. Every morning in the shower reading the quotes of my shower curtain getting hyped and ready for a new challenge. I started to be more confident, more enthusiastic about everything. I noticed the change in my attitude, it became more positive. I am just riding this thing and I recommend everyone just to try this and I guarantee you, you will see changes immediately. My point is surround yourself with positive thoughts and repeat them to yourself, some of you might think it’s lame but at some point I swear to god you will feel like shouting that stuff in public!

I signed up for OKCupid in 2002 or 2003, when it first came out. I went on many dates, made some friends, and I'm still in touch with some of them. I met one guy, took him to an Evanescence concert, ended up meeting the brother, started dating the brother, and drove down one weekend to help the brother move to a new place...And got in a horrendous car accident. Totally screwed up my body, had surgery and everything. All thanks to online dating.

But I didn't give up. I tried other sites, too. Plenty of Fish, Geek2Geek, MMODating (my picture was in an advertisement for it in a gaming magazine), even Craigslist. Nothing stuck.

Until two and a half years ago. August 25th, 2011, I just sent out messages to about forty guys on about three different sites.

One wrote me back. And, surprisingly, we hit it off. We REALLY hit it off. So much so, that we were engaged within for months, and married two months later.

Tomorrow is our two year wedding anniversary, in fact. My parents just showed up, as I write this, to take us out to dinner for it, since we can't afford to treat ourselves.

The point is, don't give up. There are lots of people out there, and online communication is a great way to get to know someone, vet out their likes and dislikes, find out how you're similar. I was 31 before I met the man of my dreams, but it DOES happen.

And I'm still friends with those brothers I met in 2004. And others I've met through dating sites.

Keep at it. You'll find your luck soon, I'm sure. I'm rooting for you!

EDIT: Item, because some days I'd really love the ability to take a bath. We have a tub, but no way to stop the water from draining out. :-(

As cheesy as it sounds, I get my daughter to this little tiger growl type thing. She watches Peppa Pig and tried to imitate George doing his dinosaur growl, but before I caught on to the fact that she was imitating George, I just started calling her my little tiger. Either way, it makes me smile every time :)

These are awesome and would make me feel like a fancy-pants!

u/Jax410 · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

How about something like this, a really nice robe & slippers, jets, or one of these to make the bath deeper.

I know some elderly people who use those suction bars instead of having grab bars installed and they seem to work pretty well, but I would recommend checking the weight restrictions (I mostly know little old ladies who use them) and ensure that you have a good seal on a smooth solid surface before using.

My bathtub is one of my top 5 places to get stoned. Lucky enough to have a killer bathtub as well as a great view of awesome trees and sky, out of a couple windows in my bathroom on the 2nd floor.

I recommended the other day one of those clear plastic things that go over your overflow drain thing that let you get a couple more inches of goodness!

Its surprising some of the things you find out that you need after you move in.

  1. Trashcan

  2. Can opener... I had to get really creative one night trying to open a can

  3. Flash Drive with high storage

  4. Mirror

  5. A nice rug

  6. Shower Caddy or if you have communal bathrooms portable shower caddy

  7. Command Hooks and tabs

  8. Over the door hooks

  9. Desk Calendar/planner

  10. A few cheap dishes and flatware for microwave meals

AND A FISHY TO BE YOUR FRIEND!

These are just a few things. I just graduated college and I will never again underestimate the necessity of duct tape and a plunger :P

EDIT: Would you like a falafel with that?

u/herencia · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I just graduated from college!

And let me tell you... the following items served me incredibly well!

  • Foldable clothes drying rack

  • Heated Mattress Pad (most dorm beds are Twin XL, so I've linked that size here) and Electric Blanket - you're living on campus now, but you probably won't beyond freshman year. Trust me, invest in this. Electricity is sooo much cheaper than gas. Not to mention powering an electric blanket is way cheaper than heating an entire house/apartment!

  • Shower Tote - easily carry all of your toiletries to the commons shower and toilet rooms!

  • Bath towel wrap - Men and Ladies

  • Basic First-Aid Kit

Would you like a falafel with that?

In my apartment we use clamp camera mounts (https://amazon.com/dp/B00PICAE4C/) with tension rods (https://amazon.com/dp/B00IF5SY1E/) run vertically (floor-to-ceiling) with the cables wrapped down around the pole. While the pole is more of a visible 'thing' than just a tiny wall or ceiling mount, it gives a natural place for the cables to run (versus just down the wall) which IMO makes it look much better than any of the other options (at least for us renters who can't run cables inside the walls).

Less ideal for tracking but more minimal, I've also seen people mount their two front cameras on the back of the top two corners of their big screen tv or wall mounted in this location along with a wall-mounted TV, and having the cables run down the back of the tv with the other tv cables.

Another option is to ceiling mount sensors above or just in-front of curtains for a window or sliding-glass-door and run the cables along the top and side of the window/door frame completely covered by the curtains.

---

Aesthetically in many cases it is pretty much the same whether you're running a usb cable down from an Oculus Sensor or a power cable down from a Vive lighthouse--either way you have to run a single black cable down the wall from mount height to floor height (the aesthetically challenging bit) and then cables along the baseboard (which is easier/not a big deal by comparison).

Today my second mounting clamp and rod came in. After trying several heights and angles, and testing with the desk demo I found that tracking was perfect from top to bottom except when facing the very edge of my bottom left room corner while my hands are in front of me. In which case my body completely covers my motion controllers and a third camera would still not be able to help since my room is too small /cluttered to cover that specific angle. The biggest thing that helped was NOT mounting the cameras as high as possible, as it is suggested by some users. The higher they are, the farther away they are, and being cameras and limited by resolution, being too far away (too high) results in jitter/unstable tracking. I ended up mounting them at about 7 feet high. I suggest a rod/clamp solution as it allows you to quickly test and make small adjustments, and using this setup allows you to move the cameras in every way possible (6 degrees of freedom). Here is the exact rod and clamp I'm using for those interested. Obviously any similar rod/clamp will work.

These thieving guests are really rare, so I wouldn't worry about it for your first guests.

What I've found is guests are even more likely to take the small items with them. It ends up being a lot of waste, too, because you'll have tons of partially used bottles.

The best solution I've found is to put things into dispensers. Someone might take a full shampoo bottle, but they aren't going to pull a dispenser off the wall. They wouldn't feel bad snagging salt & pepper in the cardboard store containers, but they won't take them if they're in shakers (mine have survived 5 years of hosting). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FGCW0K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Leave out a reasonable amount of TP and a roll of paper towels and lock up the rest. It'll be fine.

I think I'm caught up for now. Fortunately we've had a slow day at work and we haven't started to implement the project I've been over yet. Thanks for taking these over /u/herumph, love this series.

  1. I hear /u/Mortifyinq has some pretty solid plans and philosophies, they're pretty similar to JD for some weird reason though. But JD is who I've stuck with, I'll probably end up breaking into Pfitz for my half though.

  2. I picked up an extra 3 hours of sleep, does that count?

  3. Umm...

  4. Kind of. I had to drop mine down to 1000 after I had to take two months off. I'm currently at 879.1 and still have to run today. I'll probably hit it though.

  5. So I need to buy a gift for my company Christmas party and need ideas. The only thing(s) I have so far would be getting one of these: 1 2 but I feel like there's better, dumber things to burden somebody with. What have you guys got?

I use SuperNail Glitter, which Sally's Beauty Supply sells online. If they don't sell internationally, Amazon also sells it. If not, I've seen Martha Stewart's craft glitter used in nail art quite frequently. It's sold in craft stores (Hobby Lobby, Michael's, JoAnn's...) and amazon. Good Luck!

I got these three -
[Acrylic with drawers] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KKXA58/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), Acrylic lipstick storage (you can get this one a few bucks cheaper from another seller if you don't mind waiting for shipping), and this acrylic organizer

Here's a (maybe not too great) picture of them on my shelf! photo

If you have Amazon Prime you can get free 2 day shipping. I purchased all three for a total of $47.58 so a huge saving over buying just one original beauty box.

They're all sturdy thick (but not TOO thick) plastic. No fogginess or scratches on the surface or anything!

About a year ago I thought it would be cool to offer a luxury travel set to my guest for a more hotel/upscale feel. I include a set of lord and mayfair shampoo, lotion, conditioner and body and face soap. Its a plus to offer to your guest and makes your listing look more pro:

http://i.imgur.com/miRVSw0.png

I looked online for a hotel supplier, purchased 144 of each for $175. Therefore I'm spending $1.25 for each reservation/guest? I set out 2 sets when they are longer stays. Estimate I had 100 guest since then. In 2 weeks its going to be a year since I purchased these and I havent counted them but I probably have about half of them left or a little more left.

The simple fact is that 50% of guest dont even touch them because they have their own, they also don't take em home like souvenirs like hotel guest do me included. I guest they respect the fact that its your house, etc. Its a waste because I constantly throw away half empty bottles. and bars of soaps used once.

So definitively when I run out of these I think i'm going to go with the wall dispenser route of a high end product, something like:

http://www.amazon.com/Three-Chamber-Shower-Dispenser-White/dp/B000FGCW0K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425747136&sr=8-1&keywords=shower+dispenser

u/hip_drive · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Sorry, I have to put in my two cents. OP, I would only use the tin for the purpose of carrying the bar back and forth from your room. If you put it in the tin after you shower, it will start to get melty and goopy and really hard to use. It needs to dry out! You could prop it on its side in the tin, which would help to dry it out, or use a special soap dish like this soap saver which will allow it to dry completely every day! (Btw that Amazon price is absurd. You can find them for a buck at the drug/cosmetics store.)

You should get a tin! But I wouldn't keep it in there all the time.

A shower curtain if you have the kind of tub/shower that needs one. Also get a hair stopper to prevent hair going down the drain! Something like this. If you have a tub and like baths I suggest a drain cover too to get an extra few inches of water/bubbles.

Get your daughter a shower curtain that has a slot for tablets/phones/ sheets of paper.

Like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075HG56QH

When she takes organic chemistry she'll need to learn about dozens upon dozens of reactions and rather than having to write them all down on the wall, she can just stick paper/phone/tablet in between the slots to learn them while showering. This is how I got through my O chem.

Realistically you don't even use most of the periodic table as a chemistry major. You learn about trends and such but the things that are actually useful (like atomic mass) are learned through sheer repetition.

Also, get her started on memorizing the amino acids if she's interested in biochemistry :P

I also have a bath overflow drain cover (allows the tub to fill up a little higher, which covers my baby bump a little more) and a bathtub tray (what I like about this one is the little wine glass slot on the right...I had this before I was pregnant 😉)

I also bring my water bottle in for bath time. The warm water really dehydrates me. I have a 25oz Eddy Cambelback water bottle that I bring everywhere. I love the straw and I can open/sip it one handed. I think that feature will come in handy once the baby is born!

Not exactly mounts, but Shower Compression Poles work great (don't forget to get clips), and are portable or cheap enough to get two sets maybe. They are also more sturdy than a tripod, because they won't be effected by floor vibrations.

u/EightBitDreamer · 10 pointsr/oculus

I use shower curtain rods that extend from floor to ceiling, and then a clip-on mount. They work great, don't look bad (I got white rods against my whitish walls) and you can mount the camera at any height/angle.

A buddy of mine got a set of curtain rods like these to stretch floor to ceiling:

And then these pipe clamp mounts to attach the lighthouses.

https://www.amazon.com/Grifiti-Threaded-Microphone-Diameter-Motorcycles/dp/B00E5M39AW

He's pretty happy with them.

Before I bit the bullet and drilled holes, I used a pair of mini camera tripods to put them on shelves. The downside was they were super easy to bump out of alignment meaning I had to re-run roomscale setup all the time, but they were also super portable and it'll look no worse than small satellite speakers as far as inspection is concerned.

u/Throwlurk · 1 pointr/Vive

I used these for the support rods:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F3B4YPS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are simply shower curtain rods that are supported with a spring. Since the lighthouses are pretty light, this holds their weight without any trouble, and there is no vibration at all. It's very sturdy for the price, if folks are looking for something a bit more affordable.

The overflow's I've seen as a consumer/DIYer are an integral part of the drain system so they'd be difficult to seal off.

We do have a deep soaking tub that we like to soak in a bit deeper than the overflow allows, so we use something like this which adds few inches to the water level and just sticks on the top like a suction cup: https://www.amazon.com/Bottomless-Bath-Overflow-Drain-Cover/dp/B00314WHW6

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IF5SY1E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_87Y2DbXVJ2P9P

I adjusted the tension so its a tight fit from floor to th ceiling.

On the top of those poles are my lighthouses pointing towards the middle of the living room. The lighthouses are mounted onto the pole using these attachable clamps.

They've been there stable since May of this year.

I have two sets of Alex drawers (the tall ones) and one is basically eyeshadow all the way down. It’s kind of ridiculous and I don’t really like the drawers (I wish they opened all the way, I can never get to stuff in the back). If you aren’t planning to buy more palettes, maybe just display it on top? You could also get an acrylic palette organizer that looks like this maybe?

These soap savers work great for keeping soap from getting mushy.

They make shampoo/conditioner/bodywash dispensers that glue to the wall or corner.

Aww, that's not too bad! :) Is your shower caddy from a dollar store? It looks just like mine. Paid $1 three years ago and it's still (mostly) holding up. You should get yourself one of these guys to get back a little floor space.

Hmm... I guess the most random thing that I think I need would be this Bath Overflow Drain Cover
or this head lamp.

I feel like the tub cover is obvious. The head lamp would have come in handy last night when the power went out while I was at work and had to stay and finish my stuff.

This is the one i have, its got a hole at the top that i would hope would prevent an accidental overflow, though i've never tested it out. i live in an apartment, so unscrewing anything is not something i'm comfortable with.

u/athousand-words · 11 pointsr/April2017Bumpers

YUP. I treated myself recently to one of those bath pillows/headrests, some epsom salts, and this overflow drain cover that gives me an extra 2in or so of bathwater. Baths are sooooo nice now. :D

u/howtospellorange · 5 pointsr/LushCosmetics

whatever you put it on, try putting it its side so only a small bit of it is touching anything else.

otherwise, I use soapsavers for my soap! I use ones like this where only the small nubs are touching the soap

u/ultimatedebate · 1 pointr/ofcoursethatsathing

I was interested until I saw it’s $27 ...

u/kittenzaremittenz · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

My baths normally last a minimum of one hour, max is normally two. This product prevents the water level from dropping. I usually set my laptop up on the toilet seat and watch something on Netflix. I can really feel my muscles loosening up about an hour or so later and it really helps me fall asleep.

To prove that I am not a part of some large bath advocacy group I shall share cons to baths. Washing your hair in the bath is very difficult and you either have to deal with a sub-par hair wash or shower after. Sometimes I get headaches after a hot bath from, I'm assuming, of dehydration. It also makes my face red af.

>It's kind of expensive, almost unreasonably so

We have this dispenser in our showers. Good product, not terribly pricey. Admittedly not as nice to look at, but I'd rather not pay a $50 premium for shower accessory aesthetics.

For less than the price of one stainless dispenser, I got three plastic models.

u/AnotherSoulessGinger · 8 pointsr/homeowners

Search for a bath overflow drain cover. You can get one on Amazon for $7, or pick one up at Bed, Bath and Beyond and the like. It covers the drain so you can have a deep bath.

Edit: there’s a hole in the top so you won’t run the risk of completely overflowing the tub.

u/doublepen1 · 3 pointsr/Vive

u/sabreteeth · 1 pointr/AskWomen

Yes! Here are some things I use to step up my bath game:

  • Deep Bath DrainCover - Covers up the overflow valve, so you can have bathwater that covers your knees and your boobs

  • Epsom salts, obvs

  • Bath bombs - I don't have a Lush nearby, so I make my own out of citric acid, baking soda, coconut oil, and essential oils.

  • This light - Candles are nice and all, but this makes the bathroom look like an ocean galaxy laser show and it's very relaxing.

  • Beer, obvs

I could use another one today. Life upsets me and my skin is dry as hell. What should I do, Donna?
u/definitelynotsatan · 1 pointr/books

Sorry man, It was a gift. From Target IIRC.
Similar to this one, but much plainer. It's sort of just a board, with extendable chrome arms.

u/M0dusPwnens · 1 pointr/aww

The main issue is the overflow inlet, which a lot of recent tubs mysteriously position really low. You can get a cover (like this) to vastly improve the situation.

u/Tannetje · 2 pointsr/thenetherlands

Ik ben er ook pas net achter, maar de Duitse Amazon brengt vaak wijsheid. Link. Deze verstuurt wel naar Nederland.

Wijziging: Ik vergat /u/tim641 te tikken.

u/birmingjammer · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

I bought this one this summer! It's totally ugly as like OP says but as long as I get those extra soaking inches, I don't give a damn

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0001YJIGW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-9Juyb05Q2ATM

u/that_cachorro_life · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

I have this - I use it for myself for a fuller bath. I’m sure a toddler could pull it off quickly but it would buy you 5 seconds.

u/mharris1x · 4 pointsr/LushCosmetics

For the drain, this is a flat-type grate then? Those are typical where I live (San Francisco). We use silicon drain stoppers for those.
https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Silicone-Drain-Stopper-Aqua/dp/B0038JE650/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_201_bs_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=PT8KQBA5XHXHW0A7WEEH&th=1

Then for the "overflow drain" that a lot of tubs have, we use deep water bath gadget (also silicone)
https://www.amazon.com/Better-Bath-Deep-Water/dp/B0001YJIGW
Total investment: about $15

u/ninjakiti · 7 pointsr/cats

One of the best products I've ever purchased. It covers the overflow drain.

u/atouchofyou · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon
