So, I just went through my Amazon orders and pretty much every single thing I saw that I bought for myself I thought was the best thing I ever purchased.

With great pain and strain, I narrowed it down to these three things:

  • Inflatable Japanese Soaking Tub // I've always desired a deep bathtub that is in the Japanese soaking tub style. I had dreams of remodeling my bathroom to put in such a bathtub but when I priced it out the price tag had a lot of figures and made me very nervous. This device packs up to the size of two furled full size golf umbrellas side-by-side, but also fits into my existing bathtub and creates the soaking tub I so desire. Oh, and it cost under $100. Far less than a bathroom reno.

  • Klymit Static V Insulated // It truly is a super crazy comfortable sleeping pad/mat for side sleepers. I camp with a quilt, rather than a sleeping bag, but that hasn't been a problem.

  • ThermaRest Ultralight Cot Knock Off // At $40 vs $100+ for the name brand, but with the additional cost of 2 lbs, I am really happy with this cot. It is delightfully comfortable and I use it when traveling. I can sleep on my side without any sore spots developing.

    Edited to add links.

soaking tub

This is a soaking tub i bought on amazon. It’s the greatest thing ever! Best 50$ I’ve ever spent. You can submerge in it.click blue link above!

GIRL - I got this because my bathtub is super shallow: Happy Life Portable Plastic Bathtub, Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008XSXQIO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Ma6OBbA5SNEEW

Maybe something to throw on the wishlist?? My hubs thought it was hilarious when I first filled it up and climbed into it but it’s MAGIC. I can now soak to my neck!! And I live in a tiny 2 bedroom and it folds so small that I store it in the bathroom linen closet :)

Murphy bed!!! or this!

Composting toilet! Grab a bucket of sawdust to go with it.

Deflatable tub or portable Japanese soaking tub for shower!
If you need it... HOT shower!

Hand sink!

Camping stove that can be used indoors.

Water filter system for drinking and cooking.

Water storage!

For short term! ....just figure out how to secure it all! Fun! Fun!

I'll copy paste something I wrote elsewhere just now. What do you think?

My plan is to use a shower pump like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Ivation-Portable-Outdoor-Battery-Powered/dp/B00IFHFJXI/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=Ivation+shower+head&qid=1567661650&s=gateway&sr=8-3#
Then boil some water on the stove, and mix it with room temp water and put enough in the floor of this to cover the pump:
https://www.amazon.com/Happy-Life-Portable-Plastic-Bathtub/dp/B008XSXQIO/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=Portable+deep+tub&qid=1567661792&s=gateway&sr=8-6

... set up underneath the roof fan, with some velcro holding up a hula hoop holding up the shower curtain tucked inside the tub. Get a thing to stand on so my feet aren't soaking, attach the shower head to the hula hoop, put a cloth bag over the pump as a rudimentary filter... Voila, recirculating, hot shower, for as long as I want, for just a few gallons of water.

Bonus, the shower water can be used to wash your clothes if you separate it from your regular gray water.

If it were me, I would've chosen a tub with lines that mimicked the sink's look. Straight, squared off edges. Something like this (disclaimer: just a quick search, there's probably a better match out there). But again, size was probably a big factor; it would've been difficult to find one that fit OP's bathroom.

I came to ask a similar question, but also interested in asking if anyone has any recommendations regarding tub hardware (free standing tub filler, etc.). I've done several hours of research on multiple websites and there are so many different reviews/inconsistent information. By "soaker" tub do you mean the large ones with jets? My research has mainly been for standard size, stand alone bath tubs. So far these are my two favorites, both are very different in style:

#1:

https://www.amazon.com/FerdY-Freestanding-Certified-Overflow-white-59-522/dp/B078GM14QL

#2 would need tub filler/overflow hardware purchased separate, also more $$:

https://www.amazon.com/Sinkology-TBT-6631CL-Heisenberg-Handmade-Freestanding/dp/B00Z6S3W24/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=sinkology+copper+tub&qid=1567444917&s=hi&sr=1-2

Im leaning towards the copper Sinkology tub, because I'm a huge copper fan, but honestly its been a total pain in the ass to find any stand alone tub filler, under 1K that doesn't have crap reviews! uuuugggh

This inflatible soaking tub is cheap and well built. I'm 6'2" and can easily submerge my whole body in the icebath using this tub.

u/StrongHarm · 1 pointr/lifehacks

You could get an enormous beer cooler. If you're 5'4" and 125lb then I'd judge you as about 2 cases. That way you'd have a plug and it would be on wheels to get it out when you need to.

Also, there's the actual CowGirl bathtub: https://s.yimg.com/aah/elegant-horse-pictures/david-stoecklein-suds-n-dust-cowgirl-print-1.gif. I've seen old ones at country dollar stores that could be restored.

Here's an inflatable one for less than $50 on amazon https://www.amazon.com/PENSON-CO-COMIN18JU002266-BABAT0038BL-Inflatable/dp/B017N751QA/

IMO anyone with a stake bag is glamping. Might as well bring your own pool at that point.

u/Texas-to-Sac · 1 pointr/fixit

No they have enamel repair kits like this.

u/sheetskees · 1 pointr/me_irl

It can be yours for only eighty five dollars

u/be_cool_honey_bunny · 3 pointsr/carolinecallowaysnark

Well I’ll be damned. You can get one for as cheap as $50!

u/ImYourValkyrie · 5 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

I can't live without baths, I love them so much! Love to come home after work to soak and relax. My coworker just moved into an apartment with no tub, just the shower. I saw on amazon that there are portable soaking tubs! Just set it in the shower and let the water fill it up.

I'm not so good at reddit so I can't make this link shorter but here it is:
