So this is my nursery for my babygirl. I didn’t want to go with the typical pink scheme. I had something different in mind. It came out better than I had imagined. Fell in love with it once I finally put it together. Hope it can give some ideas as well. Here’s a link to the rest of the nursery.

  1. We got really lucky with the 4 in 1 crib. We got it super cheap from sears since it was closing down. Got it for $100. Which is a steal. It’s super handy.

  2. My boyfriend is a painter so he painted the room in 45 minutes lol. Painted the letters and made the basket with her bows.

  3. The rocking chair and canopy is my favorite part of the room. I thought it would be super cute to add in the canopy. I purchased off amazon for like $14 and the rocking chair was a gift from amazon registry. Highly recommend using amazon as a registry!

  4. Got my cute dresser from ikea. It is super roomy and convenient. A good size for all her clothes.

Hope you guys can pick up ideas from my nursery!

Okay, I've always dreamed of having a room that was all done up Arabian Nights style, with lovely lush silks hanging from the walls and pretty Moroccan lamps everywhere, so... I'm gonna give you that, via amazon suggestions :)

First we start with this lovely canopy for your bed. Then I would add this Incense burner because well, it looks like a genie lamp, and incense is sexy and can help you set the mood. Then we would hang several of these beautiful hanging candle holders around the room, for mood, also it's impossible for anyone to look bad by candle light. Then we would hang several of these along the walls, to really give it that Arabian appeal, so you feel like you are in a tent. Then top that off with a few more candle holder lamps around the room, and some poufs and some rugs and you have yourself a lovely harem, all you need to do is fill it with sexy men :)

Justin Bieber is one of the cockiest douchebags to ever rise to fame.

also I would love to send you a post card :)

u/PinkChubbyMonkey · 9 pointsr/BabyBumps

The canopy is cute but you need to take it down and save it for when the child is much older for a play spot (maybe reading nook) not a sleeping decor.

If you like the look of a canopy may a wall canopy.

u/dlv9 · 4 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

Here’s what I would do:

Cozy:

  • add a bed skirt. Trust me, it will make a huge difference
  • add a big rug (a few feet smaller than the size of the room).
  • add some real or fake plants
  • add some real or fake flowers
  • add a full length mirror.
  • hang up your artwork.
  • add some floating shelves with some “cozy” knickknacks (e.g. a salt lamp)
  • put some throw pillows on your bed.
  • hang some curtains, ditch the blinds
  • add a beautiful floor lamp
  • add a bed canopy/net

    Functional:
  • it looks like you have a yoga mat in the corner. Why not set up a little yoga/meditation area? Complete with candles and floor cushions
  • add an ottoman to the foot of your bed (storage + seating)
  • add a basket to store extra blankets and pillows
  • add a bookshelf. Fill with books.
  • if you work from home, maybe put in a desk?
  • rearrange the furniture and add some accent chairs

Blackout Fabric Canopy!

It made such a difference during the daylight hours. It’s a breathable fabric that blocks out the extra light in the tent, allowing me to sleep much easier (without an eye mask).

Truly worth it when you need all the energy/sleep you can get at a fest like EDC!

Residual benefit- helped dampen the echo sound within the tents as well.

u/thkuntze · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

I'm pretty sure with canopy beds the posts are part of the bed frame.

You might look at these DIY canopy bed ideas, or try one that hangs from the ceiling?

If you just looking for posts to add to an existing frame, some version of fence post might work.

It'd probably help if you added more details on what you're trying to accomplish.

u/MicroSay · 2 pointsr/UCI

You could try a light-blocking canopy like this one. Maybe hang it up with those Command Strips that are supposed to come off without damage so you don't make any modifications to the room.

Regardless, you need to talk to your roommate so at least you guys are aware of the problem and can reach a solution.

I have similar issue but I normally just pull up my thicker covers over my head when I know my roommate needs the light.

Good Luck!

u/pauldapizzaman · 2 pointsr/Cornell

To be honest, it seems like you're doing just about everything you can. In the meantime you might want to look into something like https://smile.amazon.com/MEKKAPRO-Mosquito-Repellent-Openings-Curtains/dp/B01KKMZRFK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1540814355&sr=8-2&keywords=extended+double+bug+net to at least give yourself a good nights sleep.

To be honest, it's really shitty that this is such a problem considering how much cornell charges for housing, I hope you get it sorted out soon OP!

u/Tallisina · 6 pointsr/myfriendwantstoknow

Your friend needs one of these:

EDIT: I’m not sure there really is a “normal”, but I’m sure your friend wouldn’t be the only person to talk about night fears with their therapist. That’s what they’re there for, may as well get their money’s worth out of their sessions.

u/wudgie98 · 1 pointr/HomeDecorating

thank you! I bought the canopy on amazon here and then used push pins to hold it up! I thought about buying hooks and using that but it’s fairly light and it’s held up well :)

The BEST 46.00 you'll ever spend to protect smaller vegging (potted) plants. These enclosures block essentially all (but thrips, etc.) crawly pests, allowing me to defer my preventative maintenance (in my case BT) until the plants are older!

Here's where I'm at now, thanks to these tents (now put away for the season)! As you can see, the leaves are essentially bite-free.

I tried what seemed to be clone of the S2S from The Friendly Swede I used it with my MYOG modular tent that is very similar in dimensions to the hexamid solo. Unfortunately it just didn't work, the geometry of the net was too off center, designed for A frames. The S2S design seems to be a little more symmetrical, but I had mosquitoes on my groundsheet the minute I laid it down, I couldn't seem to keep them out even with the edges staked out and sides weighed down. At that point I didn't even care that it was drooping. Just a little too spartan for me, that experience made me go back to a full tent for summer months. However, I know a lot of people swear by using that net. If it was me, I would be willing to pay the extra cash for the full bathtub. Good luck!

u/zwjustbatty · 2 pointsr/HomeDecorating

For the curtain idea, you could use regular curtains and hook them with the above mentioned ceiling hooks, or, do canopy curtains (which is more like it) like this (except these are black) :

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can fit a queen sized air mattress back there.

u/dievogel · 1 pointr/nyc

Definitely this. I was getting 10-12 bites every night from sleeping with windows open (no A/C), and now I get hardly any.

I found this one much cheaper on Amazon for ~$25 and comes in a variety of colors. It fits over my queen size bed just fine.

u/B_A_M_2019 · 16 pointsr/AmItheAsshole

I like the door idea someone suggested or you could find a cheap version of this: Just for the hilarity of it all :-)

u/QuetzalcoaBobDole · 2 pointsr/Ultralight

I bought this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IVQ4ADC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I accidentally ordered 2 in my frenzy to pick gear up when i caught the bug, and they differed in weight by almost a full ounce. Right out of the package the lighter of the two weighed 7 ozs, but ditch the included stuffsack, cordelette and mitten hook and replace with microcord / just wrapping it up in the tarp to save almost 2 ounces.

You mean like this?

u/CarbsB4Bed · 2 pointsr/phoenix

If it occurs when you sleep I recommend a bed net. They are cheap and keep the bugs out while you sleep. No chemicals or anything like that.

Tarp camper/backpacker here. Borah makes a decent tarp for $54.
Their lead times are around 4 weeks right now though.
As far as netting, I've had my friendly swede mosquito net for a few years and really like it. Paired with a DIY Tyvek groundsheet it gives me plenty of protection.

I dress up like a ghost

u/perfectblackout · 1 pointr/DoesAnybodyElse

When I was younger I had a pretty pink one like this

Making the bed gets annoying really quickly with one of these in the way. Also, the gross-out factor of having to remove a bug from the net reminds me that I'm not safe. I'd kind of rather not know.

u/croomsky · 5 pointsr/migraine

I have this on my desk at work. It is a bit hard to manipulate to which light to cover. Also need a relatively stable small arm for it to attach too.

I asked my neurologist for a note for accommodations. My work blacked out the lights above me with covers. We cannot remove a bulb or turn out lights but this is an option. I also wear rose tinted glasses.

Florescent lights is the worst. It is right up there with the sun and perfumes. I hope you are able to get some thing figured out to help with your job.

u/CreaminFreeman · 3 pointsr/funny

Nothing too special, just something like this.

u/vallary · 3 pointsr/knitting

I kind of want to make a huge one and hang it as a bed canopy like this.

u/orngchckn · 1 pointr/ULgeartrade

I believe it's this one.

It's okay. I had some little fucker in my ear too. I poured rubbing alcohol in my ear and bought one of these for sleeps. keep it tucked in always. All is well.
