For some reason this didn't show up the first time I posted, so sorry if it shows up twice :-)

1

2 (Snow is kind of reminiscent of rain)

3 (food related because I would serve hot meals on it; unusual because it is multifunctional)

4 is for my two year old daughter because she has the normal version, but loves it so much (probably her favorite thing) that it is now in three pieces with the cover off and losing pages every day, but this one has a carry handle and is smaller for toddlers and easier to carry around.

5 You need to read it because I've been told I need to read it.

6

7 because Catwoman

8 The picture of beauty! :-)

9 Because it's a classic. . . it's sweet, has adventure, and teamwork. . . dinosaurs.

10 because it's a sword that I will always have with me because it's a keychain

11 I'm on my 4th week of P90x, and I hate yoga day because I can't do all the moves, so I don't have the desire to do it, but this would help on moves where I am not as flexible.

12 I want these so I can make necklaces with them.

13 Because it has a swingset and a playhouse and my daughter (and when he's older, my son too) would love this, and I love them very much. So seeing them happy makes me happy :-).

14

15 seeds are much smaller than golfballs

16 Nothing smells as good as a freshly bathed baby :-)

17

18 I could practice my letters and spelling (as long as each letter was only used once) :-)

19 My current obsession is being a mom! All of my other obsessions are geeky stuff, so this is perfect!

20 I know this really needs no explanation as to why it is so grand and awe-inspiring, but here are 10 good reasons. . . First of all, it's huge because it's a rug. Second of all, it is from one of the greatest movies of all time, Star Wars Episode V. Third, it looks sooooo soft (it's so fluffy, I'm going to die). Fourth, how many people do you know who have this in their home? Fifth, it has claws. Sixth, it's smiling. Seventh, you could hide under it during a home invasion. Eighth, you could cover up with it if your power went out in a snowstorm. Ninth, (since you love cats) I bet cats love laying on a wampa rug. Finally tenth, it would be the perfect addition to this boy's nursery (I've shown this picture a lot on RAoA, but I can't help it. He's too cute!)

Bonus Item 1 will be PMd to you when I found out your real name, not if but when :-)

Bonus Item 2 Looks yummy!

fear cuts deeper than swords

This was super fun by the way! Thanks!

-Don't buy a tent or backpack right now. You're on the east cost so you should have REI, EMS, and maybe some other outfitters too. Not only because you can try out different kinds, but also because hardly anyone really needs a backpacking backpack and they tend to be 200$ spacefillers in your closet. Buying a tent will likely be useful down the road but being able to rent a backpacking one vs a car camping one will keep quality up and costs down and be way more convenient at this point. Also, borrowing gear for trips is very much accepted as part of the culture. Also, to your point of camping places you can fly to, if it's in Can/US/Europe, I'd recommend using the rental option even more strongly. (Though if you don't hike more than 5 miles or so a day, travel a lot, and don't have to have a backpacking backpack, the Osprey Farpoint 55 or 70 may be the last travel bag of any kind you'll ever buy. I LOVE this thing and have taken it on trips all over.)

-One extra thought re tents: KNOW HOW TO SET IT UP. 80% is self explanatory, but knowing where on the ground to set it up, and how to use the rain fly / guy lines can be the difference between you being dry in a surprise rain and being cold, wet, miserable, and you (or your s.o.) not wanting to camp again. Youtube and your outfitter store employees are actually excellent resources for this.

-Furthering that line of thought, rent this season, then troll craigslist and other local for sale apps (like Letgo, Offerup and Ebay) for what you know by then demonstrably works for you at the end of the season.

-Buying a sleeping bag is a good idea though. The rule of thumb is the degree rating is the temp at which you won't freeze to death, so add about 20-30 degrees for comfy sleeping. But you can save some money and add versatility if you also bring a packable down blanket or a sleeping bag liner (those are the ones I use). Because you're looking for value over total quality, you won't need something that extra 10-15% of size difference, and because rain will screw you up less, I'd probably recommend a polyester bag. (Down tends to me more expensive and you're SOL when it gets wet. People pay more because down bags tend to be warmer for the weight and space, and they're generally better for the environment.)

-I'd also recommend getting a sleeping pad, and generally rec air mattresses of at least 2.5" for side sleepers. (I got a couple Big Agnes Air Core Ultra Insulated ones on offerup for cheap and think they work great.) For car camping you can just get a Coleman air mattress from Target etc, but TRY IT OUT BEFORE YOU GO EVERY TIME because they tend not to last very long...I don't think I've ever had an air mattress last more than about 4 trips without starting the slow leak of death march.

-A 4 person tent is overkill and you would never want to bring that on a backpacking trip. If you do backpacking and want some room, a good two person tent (I use Big Agnes Copper Spur HV2 for backpacking, and an Alps Mountaineering 3 person for car camping, which is huge by comparison).

-Overgeneralization, but generally speaking budget tents and sleeping bags are garbage. I tend to buy used "bombproof" gear from people who realize they don't like camping after they buy the bombproof gear (or when they decide to upgrade). Again, reselling camp gear is very much a-ok with the camp culture. On VALUE vs Price, some companies have amazing guarantees and will repair / replace your gear at no cost forever. (Some brands are Patagonia, Osprey, Darn Tough socks, all of which are companies who make amazing products.)

-I'd also say you don't need a cast iron pan for camping except for the aesthetic. any pan will do, and a cast iron just adds weight and inconvenience (unless you're really handy with a cast iron). One thing I do recommend having though is a couple good sized dry bags. Not only because of their intended use, but because they also double as a scullery bin for washing dishes (turn it inside out though so you can later wash off the oils etc after you're done washing the dishes and pots and turn the bag right side out again).

Hope this helps. Good luck on your adventures!

PS and in re New England adventures, you cannot go wrong with spending 4 nights in Acadia NP / Bar Harbor ME.

Not entering this contest but I still want to add my suggestions for your birthday gift.

It's all about atmosphere and ambiance. Creating a serene environment conducive to relaxation and reflection. It seems that you are a working mom, a wife and probably wear many more stressful hats in your life. That being said, picture this: dinner is cooked, little one's in bed the house is quiet and there you are in your favorite cozy spot wrapped with this Purple Plush Throw. Your cozy spot is lined with this super duper massage cushion and your feet resting on this shiatsu massager encased in these fluffy purple socks. On a nearby table you have the soothing aromatic scent of lavender emitting from this diffuser. Relaxed and soothed you find that you are a bit restless despite all your efforts, so out comes the coloring book. Using your 50 count pack of colors you sit and color for a while in blissful peace. Unwinding for a few moments and allowing the hustle and bustle of the day to pass away. Maybe you even indulge a bit with a cup of tea as you nosh on these delicious butter cookies. After your relaxing massages, your coloring session and bedtime snack, it is time to slip off to bed.

This is what I would give to you: the gift of moments spent each day exclusively designed to recharge, relax and refocus before the new day dawns. The day dawns and you are refreshed and ready to tackle all that may come.

u/Huskie407 · 1 pointr/CampingGear

I would not recommend this. choices differ between if you are backpacking/hiking to a camp or just driving in/car camping. Gear can be expensive or reasonable but If you are just starting out, I would not recommend buying expensive gear before you know what provides you value. Everyone's different so some questions only you will be able to answer once you go a few times. I would recommend going conservative on cost to start out until you know what you prefer (Checking out other peoples gear on camping trips/ REI browsing sessions are a gold mine)

Sleeping Bag depending on what the night time low temps are (based mostly on how high the elevation youre going to be sleeping at this time of year) you don't need a sleeping bag, I would instead recommend a light packable down quilt like the one from Costco or This cost: $20-$40

pricier sleeping bag option

I personally use the Klymit Static V, You can get them refurbished for very little on Amazon/Ebay

Tent Lots of options here, a few of them good for a low price. Decision is if you're going to be going solo or taking company (Size) and again how light you want to go on the weight. Freestanding tents generally provide more shelter but can be hotter in the summer and generally heavier. Some people choose only a light tarp setup for ultralight backpacking. its a personal choice but I would definitely take some time to think what suits your need on this. A few options.

For the tent I would recommend spending a little more if you are strictly buying for car camping, itll have more longevity and youll be using it for a few years. This is my car camping tent. $260

I would highly recommend investing in some permethrin/bug spray, a good hat and a Head Net to go along with it.

Happy trails.

Some pics. All I've made is little peanut butter goober-failures and one really sad looking calibration cube. No pics of those, but can share my method, pics of my build, and my why.

I used an open source syringe pump mounted on a piece of plywood, which itself is mounted to my 24x36'' MPCNC like this.

For E0 I used a cheap china 12VDC silicone heater mounted on this custom print with a spare cheap thermistor under it to regulate. This made the build a drop in tool for the MPCNC (or any 3dprinter really) @ $67.00. The idea was to accurately distribute hash oil concentrates into little vape canisters on industrial scale and minimum budget using opensource platforms. Works amazingly, just like the 10k machines... One of those pictures is the array I placed hot peanut butter in to demo accuracy, next to the original extracts jig. With the MPCNC itself, the whole thing costs less than 300 bucks.

I made a little nozzle step-down out of ptfe tube, and have been screwing around with peanut butter ever since the hash oil guy that I was showing off for lost interest.

So far only with JIF creamy onto normal old glass and mirrors with no coatings.

Cold peanut butter holds its extruded shape well, but wont stick to itself. Prints a perfect mess. Nothing else.

Warm peanut butter smells great and prints a perfect mess. Nothing else.

Room temp to slightly chilled seems to be the sweet-spot. I actually got a calibration cube to sooooorta print, but my nozzle is .5mm so it eventually turned into a square pile of extruded peanut butter. I ate it...... and called the peanut butter printing a success.

I've heard frosting is way easier.

No picture worthy print results yet. OP is way ahead of me in the results department. You're killin it, dude.

u/inspiredesires · 125 pointsr/sex

Although the liberator feels nice, it actually doesn't do a good job of soaking up the liquid. I just got a new squirt-friendly blanket from Amazon that I love, and it's worked very well so far.

( THROWS OF PASSION Waterproof... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075WZGFJG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share )

I also have waterproof mattress protectors and have even soaked through those on good days, so being able to absorb volume is what matters to me.

I also take puppy pads with me to other partners' homes or to sex parties so that I don't leave big puddles everywhere, haha. Look for super absorbent ones.

Good luck!

I see you like Harry Potter. I am a fan of this throw. Or you could get the Marauder's Map! This is also really cool. You need.

I love Harry Potter collectibles. I'm in the process of acquiring all the Horcruxes right now.

If I win I really need a new pillow. It's $1.50 over, so a giftcard towards it would be amazing.

Thank you for the contest and I hope you feel better soon!

Also I just saw you're from Michigan as well! Rad. Are you thinking of going to the meet-up?

It really depends on how much you want to spend I think, but as a Sailor Moon fan myself, here's what I would want:

This is what i used for the heating pad although any size or type will work, some have embedded temp probes and 3M adhesive backing to make things a bit easier. Ebay has an awesome selection of silicone heating pads. This temp controller works very well for the money and wiring is very easy, however pad wattage must be kept under 120w for this controller as the internal relay can only handle 10A. Edit: I do want to add that power supply for a low wattage pad like the one listed can be from any 12v @ 2a household power brick with the end cut off, however higher wattage pads may require a higher powered 12v psu. If you use higher powered silicone heating pads it's better to go 110v due to amp requirements at 12v. My solution above is just the entry lvl budget version. If you wanted to, you can go full in with a PID temp controller, high amp PSU and high quality heating pad with internal thermometer to achieve pinpoint temps but something simple like heating a glass syringe really doesn't need that. I wrapped the pad around my syringe, tucked the temp probe included with the controller in the wrapped roll and gave it a good once over with duck tape. The syringe slides in and out like a sleeve to use it for different things like filtering and when i need it heated you just slide it back in your homemade sleeve and your good to go.

The Tardis makes me really happy. I also really love fleece blankets. I ain't birthed no babies!

Also. [Happy Birfday.] (http://www.amazon.com/Across-the-Universe-ebook/dp/B00475ARSO/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1376882087&sr=1-1&keywords=across+the+universe) I'm reading the third in the series right now and they're awesome. The website is also really bad ass.

Congrats on being an Aunt! I like the name, it's pretty. Have a great birthday!

Whilst this may not help, your fiancé is a lucky man, as he has a lady who is able to SHOW him how much she enjoys herself with him. I envy him.

As to the actual question asked, you may with to consider a specialist waterproof sex blanket such as the Liberator https://www.amazon.com/Liberator-Fascinator-Throe-Moisture-Resistant-Blanket/dp/B00EOXYQPE

This will let you enjoy your delightful ability without the worry of cleanup apart from just throwing the blanket into the wash.

You’d also likely benefit from water borne sex too, such as in the shower or bath, where your ejaculate can disperse easily.

Hope this is of some help, and please don’t be put off on any way

Duh! Who doesn't!?

OK, NSFW: Most of it. Haha! Huge thing for Garterbelts and stockings! Seriously! LOVE THEM! Especially this one, this one, or this one. I have to get this for my GF. Looks like fun. Also, the classic school girls outfit is never a bad choice! Special mention for the tail and kitten outfit! HOT!!

Doctor Who: I love the Van Gogh beach towel and throw! Then of course theres the Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Tee, Long sleve Tee, Hoodie, bath robe, Hat, and scarf.

But my FAVOURITE thing in the list is THIS! I want this so bad! Must try and find it on the UK Amazon!

This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/Weighted-Blanket-Removable-ZIPPER-SYSTEM/dp/B07BPBHWLG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=XRABFGY1Q72X&keywords=serenity+engineered&qid=1570417142&sprefix=serenity+en%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-1
I have had mine for a good while so I can actually give you a good review. I absolutely adore mine, its very well made. I have washed the cover very many times and it has held up well. The blanket itself is the only one I came across that has zippers inside it to keep the blanket in place inside its cover, so no noise or moving issues inside the cover. It also has glass beads (almost non noticeable) & it had the very small quilts at 3x3 to help spreading the weight evenly. I could not tell you if the ones below 100 are good or bad since I have not used one of those 😊 I hope this helps you out.

u/Hooki-Looki · 1 pointr/sleep

I purchased mine a while a go and really happy with it. I chose it mainly because it had the zippers as I could not bare the thought of having to adjust the blanket inside its duvet when its that heavy & I also liked their smaller quilts. I bought mine off of the company website but now I've seen that they are also offering it on Amazon, here it is
Whichever you end up buying be sure it comes with a cover, mine is washing washable but not sure how I feel about having to wash a 15-lb blanket in my precious washer and dryer. The cover however is super to easy to wash ;)

  1. This blanket because I'm a tiny bit obsessed with Harry Potter.

  2. This scale because it gives a lot more information than just weight which is more helpful in the weightless process. It would be helpful to know how my body fat/muscle/water weight/etc. is being impacted when my weight doesn't seem to be moving the way I'd like.

  3. This artwork because I'm also a little obsessed with The Legend of Zelda.

  4. This dress because it's perfect for valentine's day.

  5. This because it looks cute and comfy.

Your boss sounds great, and you do too. Thanks for hosting this :)

u/hom3lesshom3boy · 1 pointr/backpacking

I'm kind of in the same boat as you are. Started backpacking maybe about 2 months ago and had a ton of old gear. Carrying 35 lbs over 26 miles was no fun, and when I came back home to research lighter stuff I kept finding things that were hundreds of dollars a piece. I did a ton of research and found some good quality gear at a budget level.

*note I sleep warm and wear layers. I found the quilt to be good for 3 season camping in the temperate CA conditions. The pad helps with the cold and I'm a side sleeper so the pad is a requirement for me. YMMV.

Poles - $22 (needed for the tent listed above) - BAFX Products - 2 Pack - Anti Shock Hiking / Walking / Trekking Trail Poles - 1 Pair, Blue, Royal Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007YT854S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_sI-PBb1S6HSMG

Filter attachment - $3 - Sawyer Products SP150 Coupling for Water Filtration Cleaning https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018NJC1A6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_YQ-PBbDFGGM0D

With this water system you have the option of gravity feeding your water supply at camp. You can also simplify by just buying the $37 kit and just squeeze directly into your water bottle/bladder, but I find this setup more convenient.

After that, the rest are kind of up to you. Food, clothes, etc. I wouldn't skimp on shoes though. Look into trail runners or hiking SHOES (not boots).

Optional things I'd look into is paracord and a tarp especially if you're going to camp in the rain. You can also look into hammock camping which would be a little more budget friendly than the tent + blanket option.

Overall there are definitely cheaper options but I find this to be a good balance of price, weight, and convenience.

All in all this is about $265.

I cannot believe that this Doctor Who throw is now an add-on. It was over $40 when I added it to my wishlist! I really want this because I love wrapping up in blankets and Doctor Who is an amazing show!

I know I love to go for casual drives in my car, with no destination and no timeframe, but what do people that live on remote islands do when they just need to get away? Can they just hop in a pane and...I don't know, fly casual? Cuz that would be pretty awesome!

since you are in Australia, Amazon would be your best option as they offer international shipping to Australia. Here is the one I got off of Amazon. The zippered cover and smaller pockets were the determining factors for me. Mine came with a warm/cozy cover for winter & I also bought their own cotton cover separately for summer time & it worked out great year long. Now its starting to get chilly again so I will be switching back to cozy cover this week I think.

If you need others to inspire you to help people you were never going to help people in the first place. Homelessness is not a new problem, it does not require social media exposure: People who take these photos and post these stories want their pat on the back and told they are a good person.

Edit: Also have some self awareness when doing this type of thing: The homeless do not want personal care items, they can get those from any shelter/church. Want to get them something? Warm underwear/socks in a ziplock bag (thermal or wool), a bottle of water (canteens might seem nice but they will often wind up lost/stolen/throw out when they become a burden) and a good blanket.

https://www.amazon.com/Olive-Green-Retardent-Blanket-Military/dp/B00D1AJVHY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1492446716&sr=8-3&keywords=army+surplus+wool+blanket This style, wash and dry it first otherwise it will be itchy and most likely get thrown out.

All clothing items: Launder them first, when they first reach you they will be painful to wear, spend the time to clean them.

Nice but the 'Throws of Passion' brand takes the top spot for quality naming for water proof sex blankets.

u/BarbarianNerd · 1 pointr/AskMen

I like variety

Those foamy type blankets are very comfortable and make a good light weight blanket. I think they're called vellux and they have a kind of velvet texture.

then a good wool blanket, army surplus ones are the best. And there's an abundance of stuff on amazon.

Avoid anything made by rothco and avoid anything called disaster relief/first aid/rescue blankets or similar. Rothco products are grotesquely inferior, but it's kinda hard to mess up a blanket. Maybe they do ok. Judge for yourself.

However, the 'disaster blankets' are just disposable recycled compressed fibers and they degrade quickly. Only meant to keep people warm/comfort them for briefly when they have nothing else. They're commonly found in police crusiers and ambulances.

these are probably the best legit ones, but they are available under other listings from a variety of vendors. And there's a ton of options out there, the french and polish ones are pretty rugged and good for camping. Mexican style wool blankets are rad, but it's not as cool as going to Mexico and getting it yourself.

swiss

good ole murican milsurp, made for cuddling not outdoor adventures it's a literal safety blanket. I miss these things. Bear in mind it might be rank with fire retardant and first, so wash it with some woollite and it'll get all snuggly.

u/Maxxters · 11 pointsr/sex

There are products like the liberator that are waterproof blankets that you lay on your bed to protect the comforter/sheets underneath. You might also want to get a waterproof mattress cover to protect the mattress itself for when you do have sex without putting something down first.

Ultralight, summer set up straight from Amazon for about $150.

edit: oops, you said no tarp. You could add the bug net for $65 and be at ~210 for an ultralight, modular set up. Could also subtract the polycro sheet and save a few bucks if you buy the inner net.

If you order from Amazon I think they ship to Canada as well (not sure so you gotta check on that).
For your weight I think the 10-lb blanket is what is recommended based on the suggested 10% of body weight I had seen everywhere.
I picked this one because it had the 3 x 3 quilts so the weight is exceptionally distributed. It also comes with a zipper inside and outside to secure the blanket to its cover so there is virtually no movement inside the cover.

u/andrewbadera · 3 pointsr/BuyItForLife

Ha, well, the first one I really liked was Italian army surplus that had been mothballed in a limited lot for years, perhaps decades. Pretty soft, pretty durable: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CX8U1CE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The most recent one is very soft, not yet sure how durable, had it a year, no wear, no outside use (which was the biggest benefit I thought of my parents'): https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D1AJVHY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have one more that is older than the Italian army, it's probably the roughest, it's endured outdoor usage and indoor. It's a little scratchy, but nothing like my parents' Vietnam stuff. Unfortunately I don't remember where I got it. EBay maybe, at least 5 years ago, possibly more like 10-15.

I had one other that got lost in a move. It was pretty durable, but again, fairly rough, and no idea where it came from.

I'm normally pretty supportive of whatever crazy stuff ends up on this subreddit, but not this. If you really wanted to make a weighted blanket yourself you can get glass beads from arts and craft stores and sew them into a quilt or something (or just buy one they're not that expensive.)

What you made is garbage. It's not washable, it's not really breathable, the duct tape adhesive will eventually oxidize and the rice will fall out. Then it will attract insects (if it isn't already.)

u/xBigGuyx · 3 pointsr/sex

Laying down a towel can work in a pinch, but after one too many times of a towel just not doing the job we invested a few bucks in a decent waterproof fuck blanket. This one in particular, which I will wholeheartedly vouch for. There's also the Liberator Lush throw, but at 3x the price, I'd rather spend the savings on something a little more fun... ;)
