I would also second miminari on mostly focusing on wearing what you are comfortable in! Facepaint is wonderful for drawing on easily removable rainbows and designs, you could hold a rainbow flag/wrap yourself in a rainbow at the event if one of your friends wants it afterward and you don't want to bring it home with you, you could get a bracelet or make your own with rainbow beads or braided string, there are also some clothes that have patterns with rainbow colors but aren't as flashy as having a rainbow flag on them (seriously! search rainbow shirt or skirt or dress on Amazon, and you can get things like this or maybe this or even this if you want to say somebody gifted you a shirt and there are many other examples if you do some digging!), and/or you could see if your friends would chip in and you guys could make your own t-shirts with tie-dye or just fabric pens to draw on rainbows and things

2. the evening would start off with me and /u/rightfootedglove picking /u/meowbabymeow and /u/bubblybreath up in the limo we worked 3 weeks of overtime to afford. I would surprise my date with flowers and have an extra bouquet in the limo in case rightfootedglove forgot to get his date some. We would stop in a meadow or field with bright green grass and beautiful flowers for photos. We would get back into the limo and open a bottle of champagne and i would make a toast to the glamorous night ahead of us. after arriving, and getting settled as she suggested we will watch all the drunk people dancing. We will then hit the dance floor and bust out completely in sync choreographed dances like this and this. Then she would walk away to get something to drink. a slow song will come on. i'll walk over and extend my hand. "may I have this dance?" ill ask shyly. We will walk onto the dance floor, and slow dance. Just as the song is about to end I'll look in her eyes, Tell her she looks beautiful and thank her for the lovely evening. Then we will probably leave early cause we are way too cool to stay the entire time. Maybe get some food, watch a movie, mini golf, laser tag, i would let her control how the rest of the evening went. (wow reading this over again its really apparent now 10 years later how bad i actually wanted to go to prom)

Also there is a prize thing too where you make lil diapers and you put melted chocolate in a few and whoever opens their diaper and it has poo gets a prize! lol They were a hit at the showers I have been to with them.

Also congratulations on the new addition soon to come! I have two lil boys of my own and they crack me up! Baby tip since you said its the first boy in 3 gens, even if you are just an aunty... Make sure you always have the diaper ready to cover up any sprays while changing! haha Thats one thing I learned real fast with my first son! XD I got peed on so many times! Only once second time around, I had learned my lesson!

What's your measurement? Hard to gauge what a tiny trans body means.

Indochino would do whatever size customized but with shipping is going to run you upwards of $100 a shirt. Sounds like you are not looking to spend too much.

What about a boys shirt? Like this or this.

May I also suggest you look into a nice pair of goodyear-welt oxfords like these with a nice toe shape? Goodyear welts are not the cheapest but they are solidly built and you can replace the sole but keep the leather upper, meaning you can literally wear them 5-8 years minimum.

Finally I give give advice to someone! I'm 5'1, 115 lbs, 34" chest, 17" shoulders, 22 yrs. old college student. I had an internship this past spring and I was in the same boat. I had a lot of success with Calvin Klein boys shirts which were about $18 on Amazon. I ordered a size 14 and it fit perfectly. Brooks Brothers size 14 was a little tighter but still fit well. Tommy Hilfiger size large as well. At least we get cheaper clothes once we find it.

It's along the same "tug your heart-strings" as The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne, but maybe a bit more adult-friendly, in just the messages and content.
