🎓 Reddit experts on breakfast foods
The comments and opinions expressed on this page are written exclusively by redditors. To provide you with the most relevant data, we sourced opinions from the most knowledgeable Reddit users based the total number of upvotes and downvotes received across comments on subreddits where breakfast foods are discussed. For your reference and for the sake of transparency, here are the specialists whose opinions mattered the most in our ranking.
And a few "bonus deals" for those who read this far down in the comments! (Tomorrow I'll start putting everything in the original post.)
21) Shirakiku Rice - $12 for (5) lbs
5 lb rice for $2.30/lb. Including since it's a lower-priced item that is shippable, even though it's not as good a deal as you'd get in stores.
22) Wheat Thins Salsa Flavor - $11 for (6) boxes
Wheat Thins for $1.80/box for 9 oz. size is pretty good! Cheaper than Wal-Mart.
23) Ravarino bowtie pasta - $11 for (12) lbs
12 lbs of bowtie pasta for under $1/lb is grocery-sale-price good!
24) ~~Organic coconut oil - $10 for (1.5) lbs
I get coconut oil (organic) on sale for $6/lb, so $10 for 1.5 lbs is spot-on as a great deal.~~ Deal is over, now up to $16.
25) Sandwich-sliced kosher pickles - $12 for (12) lbs
$1/lb for kosher sandwich flats (pickles), awesome - store some up; also great for chopping into potato salad, pasta salad, etc.
26) Chipotle-flavored pinto beans - $13 for (12) cans
Just over $1/can for chipotle-seasoned pinto beans, probably one of the best prices on the site for canned beans.
27) Tesori Capellini Pasta - $16 for (20) lbs!
Hard to beat at 75c/lb! Usually there are around 9 servings per pound, so this will last a very long time.
28) ~~Goya Sweet Peas - $16 for (24) cans
This deal may be gone before I type it, because that works out to about 66c/can. Go quickly, only 2 left at this price!~~ Called it! The price is now $44 for the 24 cans. Congratulations if you got in on it before they wised up!
29) Organic White Bean Chili - $18 for (12) cans
A little something for our legume-based chili lovers - low sodium, too!
30) Quaker Quick Oats - $14 for (5) lbs.
It's difficult to find a good deal on oats, at the site. This is one of the better ones I saw, at around $2.80/lb.
31) Quaker Instant Oats - Peaches and Cream - $10 for (40) pouches
Quaker peaches & cream instant oatmeal - 40 pouches for $10 (25c/pouch). Incredible! Most of their pouches are going for around $1 each. For the 25c/pouch price, if you don't like Peaches and Cream, you can also get Raisin Spice flavor:
Quaker Instant Oats - Raisin Spice - $10 for (40) pouches
32) Chef Boyardee Whole Grain ABCs-123s - $18 for (12) cans
At $1.50/can for more nutrition than the original style, these are a nice buy.
You guys are so awesome. Day in and day out all I see is an outpouring of consistent generosity from the both of you. It really awes me. I can't wait to end this unemployment streak so I can begin gifting again.
I would really appreciate these shoes. It's more or less for my health. I've been trying to become more active as a climber but without the right shoes, I have to pay to rent and my funds are already small as is. Honestly though I feel bad linking to anything more than $20 so if by some miracle I happen to be selected, I would be more than happy with a gift card of any amount that I can put towards the shoes. For the second gift, this yummy cereal, of course! :) C'mon...gimme. Thank you so much for the contest!
EDIT: OF COURSE HOW COULD I POSSIBLY FORGET TO MENTION YOU BOTH LOOK ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS TODAY!

Dried beans are MUCH cheaper. They're a bit of a pain in the ass because you have to soak them overnight (or at least several hours) before you cook them but the savings is very much worth it. For a bonus, if you want to fart a lot and loudly, drink or cook with the water they soaked in instead of disposing it.
The same goes for any type of dry rice as opposed to the instant variety. Personally, I avoid the all white rice because the nutritional value is super low compared to any other type of rice. Although, even the white rice has more nutritional value than Ramen and it's cheaper.
Another good trick if you don't have much time is to buy a rotisserie chicken. I eat the legs for one mean with nuked frozen veggies and then shred the breasts to make several more meals. So for $7ish I can get 3-4 meals. It's easy to add variety too. I use the shredded breasts for anything from wraps to adding BBQ sauce and making sloppy joe type things.
For breakfast, Oatmeal is your friend. If you can afford dried fruits to add to it, its much better. You can get two 5lb bags of it on Amazon, that's over 100 breakfasts. If you want to make it super healthy, just add a TBsp of brewers yeast to it before you add the boiling water. That $20 of brewers yeast will last you years. I now also add Acai berries to mine but that's $30 every two to three months.
Source: I've been very, very, poor many, many, times in my life. Even some of the times I haven't been technically poor, I've not had a renter or been in the process of evicting a delinquent tenant in my rental unit so I had to pay two mortgages/insurances/common fees/etc on one income.
Morning!!
There’s finally a bit of sun once I get to the school in the morning at 6:45! I can’t wait until it’s lighter out while I’m travelling, the darkness really weighs me down. I’m hoping to up my protein game today so I have more energy to read all your updates tonight when I get home!
Yesterday was my first official day on my own as a boss, and it went alright. Not without some bumps, but thankfully they were small bumps that were easily fixed.
In Keto news, I'm down 2lbs more to make it 165! I don't remember when the last time I saw this number was, for sure before I got pregnant 11 + years ago. It's crazy! The mom stomach is a slow go, and I realize now that I’m going to have a loose skin/stretch mark combo that’s very becoming. Oh well! I guess I can’t win ‘em all with the weight loss. OH OH! I don’t know where I read about it, but I also bought Keto cereal and it has made me so happy!! It’s [this] (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XPHTJ6L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it’s great! I had it for dessert last night with some blackberries and it has totally satisfied the need for crunch and for the ritual of cereal.
I have to confess, that between Saturday and Sunday I had what totalled to be 8 red new potatoes. The hangover on Saturday was reeeeeeal (Still have confetti in my purse) and I just wanted a starch. I felt bad about it at the time but in the grand scheme of things it’s not much. Oh and on Sunday when I was meal prepping for my kid and my sitter, I had three 1 inch cubes of honeydew, sue me! I miss fruit!
I hope you’re all well, and I can’t wait to read what you’ve been up to. I’m going to try and post in the morning and then read in the afternoon when I get home because I miss you all and reading The Daily.
Have a good day!
Look here's what I do:

Amazon Link
Maybe there is a better flavorless protein out there but I can't find on, and this has worked pretty well.
Amazon Link
This is a box with a fuckton of oats in it.
I pour a bit of milf into the bottle (to avoid clumping) and grind 1 cup of oats with the coffee grinder then pour them into the bottle.
Then depending on the amount of protein you need put a couple scoops into the bottle. Then toss your creatine in there. I don't put bananas in the shake but you could, I'd probably have to use my blender for that though.
Anyway now you have a bottle with a shit ton of powder in it. Add some more milk but save room for:
Chocolate syrup. (or whatever type of flavoring you want) I put a bunch in there, like 2 big squirts, but find out however much you need to make it taste good.
Then I take a big scoop of peanut butter and toss it in there. I'm not sure how much I put in but I'm pretty consistent, just be consistent. I think it's between 2 and a half and 3 tablespoons. Add milk till it's mostly full. Then shake the shit out of the bottle like you were trying to jerk off the demon from This is the End. The shake will be thick as balls so just open your throat and chug it Remy laCroix.
Wow, look at all that protein, look at all of those calories you got (1k +) without drinking a disgusting weight gainer.
Yay! This looks like a fun contest! I am the world's worst decision maker, so you can't possibly be worse than me! To prove it, I can't decide whether to link you this awesome set of cups because another wonderful person on here got me the DC comics set, so I need these to complete the collection, this shirt because it's hilarious and I would wear it over and over and over again, or this because... Waffle Crisp! (and I don't even want to know how you get away with selling used cereal?? lol) so I will link them all for you to enjoy and take your pick from. lol Thanks for the contest!!
I'm not positive how you feel about pumpkin pie, but poptar makes thes suckers and I've heard amazing things about them. Pretty much you need them b/c we need Australia to catch up to our obesity level(not really please don't).
Honestly, they're delicious, that's all you need to know :P
I would just about DIEEE if I received a package of goodies from Australia! I've always wanted to visit (I plan to finish going to all the continents) and Australia just seems freakin awesome :D Plust I like trying new things
Thanks for the contest!
I've bought this brand at Costco, too, but I like the Purely Elizabeth brand better.
Autumn's Gold Grain Free Toasted Coconut Almond Granola 1lb 4oz (3 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077N2R12N/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zkJUCbJNNJTWB
Their granola bars are better than their granola, though.
Autumns's Gold Grain Free Cinnamon Almond (16Count/1.24 oz), 19.84 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G7JPNCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_BpJUCb9JT798X
Every night I have a base of either quinoa or rice, prepared in my rice cooker with various vegetables and spices. If rice, I'll roll it up with nori for homemade veggie rolls.
With dinner I have a 12 ounce glass of water with two tablespoons of flax and one tablespoon of chia.
I buy my pinto beans and black beans loose in bulk at the local grocery store when picking up my vegetables, usually around 5 or 6 pounds of each at a time.
Cumin, garlic powder, tahini, and dry garbanzo beans go for a good homemade hummus in a food processor. Needs a fresh lemon or two squeezed into the tahini. Original recipe had olive oil and salt, I leave out the oil entirely and either cut the salt down to a dash or none at all.
I keep oats and almond meal on hand to make pdb cookies with the same food processor, just add a banana or two, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond butter, and raisins if you like. The original recipe called for dates and I said eat me I'm doing raisins.
I got peppermint in bulk to make tea with, both by itself as well as mixing with chamomile, mugwort, etc.
I keep almost all of the above in these convenient cereal containers to both extend shelf life, shelf space, and remove any branding or advertising. Mason jars are also awesome!
Don't forget you can dehydrate your own food as well!
Edit: I don't work for Amazon, I just live no-car and order like this to survive!
that's awesome that that happened to you.
they are giant box of poptarts my sister and can share them she enjoys brown sugar I enjoy strawberry. they're $7. I'm thinking about how tasty the inside of those Pop-Tarts are there warm gooey Center with their outside flaky crust. they fill your mouth with that warm Delight
Bonus question 1 answer being PMed. I've searched and searched and I can't find your name :(
Raffley goodness: In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson.
I like this brand - it's pretty popular. Really just any real, non-instant oats should do. Then you can cook to your desired tenderness, and add flavorings as you desire.
http://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Red-Mill-Oatmeal-24-Ounce/dp/B004VLVBVG
I keep it pretty basic, just add milk, honey, and cinnamon. But you can go balls out with nuts, raising, fruit, etc., if that's your schtick. I really do think it's a lot better than the packets, although I do occasionally keep those around if I expect to be busy.
They may have stopped selling you in stores, but if there's a will, there's a way. Amazon can ship my favorite cereal at grocery store prices right to my door. I love the future.
Edit: OH GOD IT'S PRIME. Two days from now I will create a swimming pool filled with this cereal.
Your body won't be able to tell if you're getting calories from solid foods or liquid. It will use the macros the same.
Just like most of Rich's fans can't tell what is muscle and what is synthol on him.
But seriously, there are far better YouTubers to follow over Rich.
Shakes are great. Convenient and very easy to make. Mine is simple.

The first time I was introduced to CAH was when my roommates threw a Doctor Who 50th Anniversary party. We watched the 50th special (while everyone but me drank Doctor Who themed drinks), then I took a midterm for one of my online classes, then I joined them downstairs and my roommate convinced me to drink with them (this was my first time being drunk), and after a while she pulled out CAH. It was seriously one of the best nights of my life and we could not stop laughing! I haven't had the chance to play it again since then, but it was seriously hilarious! (Sorry for the long story!)
Add-on
Yes!
It was pulled from store shelves because it illegally contains crack cocaine. It is the best fucking cereal out there. It is pretty elusive though, and the easiest way to obtain it is at Amazon.
If you'e going to buy an ice cube tray, the ice cube tray on toppppp.com is $2.50 with 4.8 stars instead of $10.50 with 3.6 stars.
Another toppppp.com favorite is the steak knives (actually all three knives: steak knives, chef's knife, and bread knife).
But I believe the most popular item on toppppp with the reddit crowd is the Rice Krispies Treats cereal.
Disclaimer: toppppp.com is my site, if you couldn't tell from the username. But it's pretty popular with Reddit.
Edit: ice cube tray price I linked to just went up to $3.99 + $3.50 shipping. But it's literally one of the highest-rated products on all of Amazon.
You could also try using Sukrin Gold - The Natural Brown Sugar Alternative. I haven't used it but the product has been recommended to me by several people. Yes, that does look amazing.
Congratulations and HAPPY BIRTHDAY HDATZ
Hmmmmm this is fun because it reminds me of my childhood, and I haven't had it in more than a decade. :3
I actually spent 20 minutes searching for stores in australia that sell this stuff, but there aren't even any google australia results that are about the product. If you're serious about trying it (just for fun maybe) your best bet is on Amazon
My big cyber monday deal purchase is... drum roll please....
Pop-Tarts!
That's a pretty good deal right? lol ;)
If you don't mind spending $13 on cereal, this one is an excellent option. I love it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a small handful of blueberries. ProGranola® 12g Protein Cereal Vanilla Cinn (Paleo : Low Net Carb : Gluten Free : Grain Free) (15 Servings) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XPHTJ6L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_xfOJBbC3FC2AE
My Costco had these, the ingredients looked good and they taste amazing. They are more crunchy than soft though.
Autumns's Gold Grain Free Cinnamon Almond (16Count/1.24 oz), 19.84 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G7JPNCC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Ky7SDb1FVBFEV
One isn't so lost.

Edit: At least that one. You can still get a few others, and many of them are existing cereals under different brand names.
I actually haven't had these since I was a kid but I have rediscovered them and have been waiting for a good excuse to order some... this would certainly work! :D
They are soooo good, so unhealthy, but so awesome. :D
All-Time low if CCC is anything to go by.
Shipping is a good $8 or so though so you might as well just stuff some addon-items in there to get it over $35 if you don't have prime. This 32-pack of Pop Tarts will bump it up to $35.49 so you'll get free shipping, just make sure you choose "one time purchase" :D
I'm pretty sure you could set up a Froot Loops donation drive, 2XC would totally send you some. Be careful what you wish for, though.
> Quaker oatmeal with dinosaur eggs
So I know there were people talking about store's not having them. Does amazon do food in the UK? Here's a link the the US one http://www.amazon.com/Quaker-Instant-Oatmeal-Dinosaur-8-Count/dp/B001M0AKE8
I may order a few boxes on my next shipment of junk!! I remember the oatmeal with the flavor jam you would swirl into the top. Oh sometimes the best way to wake up in the morning!
If I could get an endless supply of Rice Krispies (The name brand, not home made stuff lol) Then I could live happily forever xD
Glad I could help!
This is the sugar I am using. Works really well.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sukrin-Natural-Stevia-Sweetener-Alternative/dp/B01ARKFXVS
Prepackaged oatmeal, like Quaker brand, is processed rolled oats, which are oats without the husks. Check out steel cut oats, which are just chopped up whole oats. Way more nutrition out of those babies.
No am I not being paid by Bob's Red Mill lol. I just really like their oats and bulgur and I can get them on Amazon. Wish I could get a sponsorship.
I started making my own granola. 100+ servings of rolled oats costs $17 and lasts me about three months of granola and overnight oats-making needs. Easily a $100/year savings, as bags of granola cost $5+.
Cold-brew coffee is my other big make-at-home cost save. $6 for 1-2 pounds of ground coffee, big batch brew, and boom, 25-30 cups of cold brew ready to go for the next couple weeks.
Kickass! A lot of my friends are in the military and one of my closest buddies is EOD in the Army. Takes a lot of hard work in that branch!
I guess I'll list this because its amazing and less than $15 with shipping.
pumpkin pop tarts because ... poptarts ... and pumpkin. :D Plus they're almost out of stock D:
And woo to new tv's .. I really don't have any advice because the only tv I have is super old :/ Careful if you're buying a flatscreen though, cause my mom and step dad just got a new one, and they had to return 3 back to the store because the screen was cracked. o.0 You'd think the stores would be more careful with them.
Rice Krispie treats still available? I need to go on a road trip. A drive from NY to KY would be completely worth it.
EDIT: http://www.amazon.com/Rice-Krispies-Treats-Cereal-14-2-Ounce/dp/B001E6K63A I love amazon
This noatmeal recipe is pretty good. Add some of this for flavor, and it's pretty much oatmeal.
Also, this cereal is as close to cereal as you're going to get on keto.
This maple syrup is basically real maple syrup.
This is probably the best pancake recipe you're going to find, but it won't be exactly like regular pancakes.
I hope you're sitting down, but... Waffle Crisp is still available! Go pick yourself up a box and enjoy!
Waffle Crisps are still amazing! You can buy them on amazon for like 6 bucks a box or something but it's still worth it.

IT IS ON AMAZON
For a crazy price, lol. Probably cheaper to befriend a Canadian and have them send you some instead XD
33 CAD for us Canucks.
>I recommend adding a box of French Toast Crunch
to get the free shipping at 35 dollars.Nothing else needs to be said
33 CAD for us Canucks. I recommend adding a box of French Toast Crunch to get the free shipping at 35 dollars.
Yea, but you can still buy those at amazon. You can kiss my ring after you brush your teeth.
Discontinued in the united states. BUT IT'S ALIVE... $30 for one box? WORTH IT http://www.amazon.com/One-French-Toast-Crunch-Cereal/dp/B003M5KV7C/ref=pd_sim_gro_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0BGW5NTNEQSGCCRHQZ76
No problem! You can definitely use all oatmeal, we just prefer the texture that the combination gives.
Rolled Oats are simply the whole oat, while oatmeal is the whole oat flaked or processed into small pieces. Here are Rolled Oats on Amazon and oatmeal would just be that ground a bit finer.
Hope that helps!
The best cereal I've ever tasted was Strawberry Shortcake. Now I go for Frankenberry- although I never see him in stores.
You can buy some hard to find cereals online:
Amazon has Rice Krispie Treats on sale now
French Toast Crunch is up on eBay
I'll enter >.>

Amazon has wild and crazy dynamic pricing, and third parties that sell via Amazon have some even wilder and crazier dynamic pricing.
Check your S&S purchases using camelcamelcamel. If there's a price rise as your monthly purchase is priced, complain to amazon & in my experience, they'll make it right. However, my experience is also that the first purchase is priced & invoiced at the time that you add it to your S&S purchase list, so it shouldn't be occurring for your first S&S shipment. Your credit card is charged later than the pricing & invoice date, approximately at the ship date, but I found that the original price at the time of first purchase stuck even though the price changed afterward. Here's a graph of your product:

Got reminded by this in the nostalgia about discontinued products thread yesterday.
Amazon is your friend.
I also saw a purchase together bundle for these and a ton of dunkaroo's.
They still make it my friend.

I received my order of 10 lbs of oatmeal and 240 bags of Bigelow green tea for under 40 bucks. I eat/drink both daily, so it was convent and the tea was much cheaper than the grocery store. I typically stock up on oatmeal when it is on sale, so not sure how much/if I saved any money there.
Anyone remember Rice Krispies Treats Cereal? The pieces were so sharp and jagged that it was like eating lava rocks, but it was worth it because it was so delicious.
edit: Apparently, you can still order it, four boxes at a time, from Amazon.
Buy some :)

If you can find them this fall, the Pumpkin Pie ones are less sweet than all the usual falvours.
TIL Rice Krispie Treat Cereal is a thing and they are different from regular Rice Krispie cereal
Rice Crispy Treat Cereal. I can't find it anywhere in Oregon or Washington.
You can buy it from Post, and on amazon.com. I just had a four pack shipped to my house last month. Definitely not out of production.
This stuff has been around for a long time. The little dinosaurs inside are like sprinkles.
Not sold in stores anymore, but you can buy them on amazon in boxes of four. Best damn cereal ever.

I guess they do make it
That oatmeal with the gummy dinosaur eggs. Not that I go oatmeal shopping a lot but every time I looked they were nowhere to be found. Kinda like dunkaroos which would also be on my list of things to bring back.
For some reason that came to me without hesitation, maybe I've deeply repressed my cravings for those for about 15 years, and if I ever find them in the store again I'm buying every box.
Here's a box on Amazon
Amazon reviews are mixed, but I think I'm going to give it a shot. The serving size seems to be the biggest bummer
ProGranola® 12g Protein Cereal Vanilla Cinn (Paleo : Low Net Carb : Gluten Free : Grain Free) (15 Servings) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XPHTJ6L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_d2fZzb4CB27T0
Nah, of you're an American resident and desperate enough you can get them off Amazon or Wal-Mart.
I don't eat cereal either. But it is the Quaker Oats guy. Brand recognition, but why do I even bother.

Poptarts
I need breakfast stuff for the kids. I was just saying how much lunch was costing me because it has to have wheat, dairy, veggies, and a fruit if it comes from home. Meanwhile I have seen them give a half a hotdog roll as wheat. They are picky so it's hard to make one thing they both like and won't go bad before lunch. I have been trying to change my grocery budget and any of these items would help.
I don't know if the links go directly to my list but if not they are in my little humans wishlist.
Forget about your worries and your strifes
I tried every zip code up and down my state, nothing within 30 miles of any of them. :(
Edit: Huzzah!
Edit2: bought one, only one left.
Edit3: They just went up 2 dollars.
It does! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001M0AKE8

Waffle crisp.
Edit: I am a liar and a fake. they still have it after all!
