The Spectra S1 is an amazing pump. I've been using mine now multiple times a day (I exclusively pump) for 10 months and I love it. It's portable (you can use it with or without the charger), fairly quiet and it's comfortable! And you can hack it easily to fit Medela parts.

Another vote for the Spectra! I use it with the Maymom version of Avent comfort flanges, and it's so comfortable, effective, and quiet. I love the two settings: quick and gentle to encourage letdown, then slow and strong for the rest of the session. Note that the Spectra doesn't come with a bag, so if you ever pump away from home you'll need a bag for it.

I have a Spectra pump that I’ve been using since our girl was born in July. When I need to transfer milk to bags, I use the Target Up & Up brand. We’ve had zero issues freezing/thawing milk in these.

In terms of every day use, I originally got these Nene supply bottles from Amazon because they screw directly into the Spectra and fit the Phillips Avent bottle tops (Avent bottles were recommended by a friend). However, our girl does better with the Dr. Brown bottles so I got adapter pieces so I could pump directly into them (whatever I pump at work, she drinks the next day).

Happy to answer any questions! Thinking about pumping as a FTM is so daunting!

Just FYI: If anyone is looking to get a manual breast pump as well, here's a set that includes a built-in bottle with nipple (and cover) along with a bonus Haakaa-style suction pump:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JCH3BB9/

Obviously it's not the brand-name version, but you can't beat the $12.99 price, plus the reviews are good and a friend of mine says it worked for her!

I love my Avent manual and have heard from others that they love theirs too. This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Avent-Manual-Comfort-Breast/dp/B009YSYCZS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396482088&sr=8-1&keywords=avent+manual+pump

I actually use it over my Ameda double electric - it's faster and has better suction!

I have one, but as a FTM without my kid here yet, I pretty much know jack shit. However, after searching for the S2 on Amazon, I found that customers also bought this and other various things to make life easier or that can work with Medela bottles/parts/etc like these flange adapters. The top customer review had some info about how they used medela bottles with pumpin pal flanges and didn't have to "hack" anything or cut tubing. Have a look around. I am getting a better grasp on everything by doing this.

Throw a haakaa in the side she isn't nursing on as she feeds from the favorite boob. You'll collect some milk and it will relieve the pressure! They are like $20 on Amazon.

I have this knockoff brand and it worked great:

There was a similar setup a few years back, but they weren't so estheticly designed. They did, however, use typical storage bags, so that expense was much less. I love the [haakaa pump] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N7GHVI9/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1518860758&sr=8-4&keywords=haakaa&dpPl=1&dpID=51D60qh%2BrEL&ref=plSrch). It's quiet, easy to clean, cheap, small, and I can fill up 200ml in one session, sometimes in 10 minutes or an hour depending on the boob at the time. I usually don't use the measurements on the pump and just pour the milk into a container when the pump is about half full so it doesn't detach and spill when it's full/heavy. It's not exactly a pump, rather it just suctions onto the boob.

Buy the symphony tubing at least. The part that connects to the symphony is different from the pump in style's. The rest is the same. The symphony is much better than the pump in style, I also have a workplace with the symphony and the power is much better than my pump in style at home. I purchased this kithttp://www.amazon.com/Medela-Symphony-Double-Pumping-System/dp/B000C13SXI The extra pump parts and bottles are a plus, too. For extra bottles beyond that, the Gerber first essentials bottles are compatible with Medela pump parts and super cheap. The kit I linked to is only $30, by the way.

I have the Phillips Avent Single Electric Pump:

https://www.amazon.ca/Philips-Avent-Electric-SCF332-11/dp/B00PF83R6G/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510601671&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=phillips+event+breast+pump

I definitely don't have any expectations (except that it will be hard!)- but like I said to someone else, I'm a planner so it's hard to kind of just let go and realize that a lot depends on the baby. And I'm definitely not married to the idea that I HAVE to breastfeed, either- like, I want to and hope to and I'm willing to put in the effort to try but if for some reason it's not working out, I'm not going to stress myself out over it or be miserable forever because I hate it. I think happy mom/formula feeding is better overall for baby than a stressed out, resentful mother/breastfeeding.

Abergele Hands Free Pumping Band Strapless Breast Pump Bra Nursing and Expression Bustier 100% Cotton with Three Position Hook and Eye Closure Black X https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DVSSM2L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_qqrBI2rV67z5v

For $20 this one has worked well for me so far- can't use it as a substitute for a regular bra but works fine with a nursing bra. I got an XL and XXL so you would probably need like a small or medium I would think. I have no idea what actual bra size I am now- was 34 DD pre pregnancy so Def bigger than that lol. I'm no expert tho- only 7 days pp with a little guy in the NICU so I'm exclusively pumping for now but this bra works well for me!

I use a Spectra with Medela parts. I like the Medela flanges better, the spectra ones didn’t fit right. For this setup I bought:

I used these when pumping and they were great.

I’ve been here! Too many times. Amazon saved the day after my most recent one - cat jumped up on my night stand to lose two good ounces all over the wall and floor! Buy a stopper Haakaa Silicone Breast Pump Stopper 1 pk (Blue) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MG8FUSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kRZWDb1GS7AWT

A goat milker would be a better model to base you project on. Cow milkers have too much suction even with the regulator. Also. A goat milker is pretty inexpensive.

Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FHZ21Y1/ref=sspa_dk_detail_2?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07FHZ21Y1&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=21517efd-b385-405b-a405-9a37af61b5b4&pd_rd_wg=L4GWO&pf_rd_r=D3N0PJDZQK60JGE4K604&pf_rd_s=desktop-dp-sims&pf_rd_t=40701&pd_rd_w=CITvb&pf_rd_i=desktop-dp-sims&pd_rd_r=3032e2c7-e8d1-11e8-bf17-01182ac8a987.

I'm all for DIY but the mechanics and possible injuries sustained would point me to a bought one. Just my 2 cents.
