I was already feeling pretty crappy, but when I read this I burst into tears. I am so sorry you're having to go through this. That's a lot to be dealing with all at once, including the disappointment of not being the one to tell your husband. Did you have the surgery already? I truly hop everything goes well.

After much deliberation I decided to recommend some stuff by Thymes. They make the best scented candles and oils (and I do mean best!), so I'm guessing their lotions are just as good. There are many scents to choose from, but I picked out Rosewood Citron Hand Cream. And a Frasier Fir scented candle if you're in the mood for some holiday cheer. We have the oil and it smells so wonderful, just like a real tree.

Our next Disney trip is still months away, so I thought I’d create a little Disney heaven at home for my husband. First, I made a DoleWhip (his favorite) using recipes found online (Pinterest has a ton). While he ate that, I put on Dark Ride cologne from Xyrena (https://xyrena.com/product/darkrideedp/) and played the soundtrack from his favorite “dark ride” Splash Mountain. Then, I lit the Fireside woodwick candle (http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HLRPZA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00) which is supposed to smell like “Rome is burning” from Spaceship Earth (“Call it, the first back-up system”). I’ll admit, it wasn’t a strong smell, but it certainly made the crackling noises. I played the soundtrack from Spaceship Earth. It transported us back to Disney!

Note: The Dark Ride cologne is seriously awesome. Pricey, but so worth it for the true Disney fan! I would try to find a different candle, this really didn’t have the strong “Rome is burning” smell I had hoped for. Anyone else have ideas?

Since you're going for a winter wedding, this is so adorable! (Or something like it!)

In case you've never heard of it, go to TheKnot.com. They have checklists, vendor ideas, free wedding website for you and really worth a look!

Bleh. I've got so much information that might be able to help you so don't hesitate to reach out!! :D

That is such a great costume! I will go with EL wire (the battery thingy can be hidden in the "gem") for the tubing, maybe wrap it around some celofan to make it glow in a more uniform way and add bulk to the "tube". The staff itself can be made out of a curtain rod (there are cheaper alternatives).
Just spray paint to match your color, wrap the wire around the staff and voila!

Now the tricky part... I suggest cutting and hot-gluing transparent tapper ware and covering it up with this. It may look weird at first but for the light up effect you can either wrap the EL wire in there or get a couple of these or similar items and just hot glue them; look for battery powered lights!!

Now the casing on the other hand is tricky.. I think you could cut up your tapperware in a way that you only cut the empty panels as in photo #2. Use those panels for the gem, and use the remaining plastic to paint it the same tone as the staff and drill a hole underneath it and hot glue it. The details themselves can be made with aluminum foil or the plastic itself, just remember to match your paint color!!

Is that a good rough guide? I am not a very good cosplayer but I have made an iron man arc reactor (mark I) for the avengers movie and a full bane costume (all from scratch) for TDKR. [I was not allowed in the movie unless I removed the mask, the release in my home country was a week later than U.S.)

You could do super awesome centerpieces where you get a glass bowl and put some black glass beads in the bottom, fill it with water then put purple floating candles in there. Super awesome, and in theme with a halloween/Addams Family wedding. Even if I don't win, I really hope you use this, because it's awesome. Haha.

For candles; Amazon might be a good idea for example, here it sells 40 different colored candles for 16$ and reviews look great!


I highly recommend making your own incenses, oils, powders, tinctures etc. Those things are very likely to be a fraud since you don't really know what they put in them. But if you must, at least in oils, buy the ones that contain herbs in it's bottle.

EDIT: If you want to know how to make your own supplies, this is how I do it:

• For oils, theres two different techniques. For making really quick ones, heat any carrier oil in benmari style. Add powdered herbs in it and leave it like that for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then, filter all herbs, add new ones to the oil and heat it for another 30 minutes, then just bottle it, you can leave herbs in it. Other technique is cold brewing, it takes less effort yet more time. For that, put herbs in oil, leave it for 3 days and then again shake and filter it, and add new herbs. After you have finished (for both methods) pray over the oil, or even perform an elaborate consecration ritual on it. You can add balm of gilead oil, Vitamin E tablets and/or tincture of benzoin to make it last longer.
  
  
  
• Powders are pretty easy, gather all dried ingredients and put it to a coffee grinder, then again pray over it and it is done. I give instructions on powders because it pretty much the main ingredient for everything.
  
  
  
• You can use powders instead of incense if you have a charcoal incense burner. If you don't, sprinkle some water on them to make a paste, then fashion it to a little cone shape and put it next to window so they will dry up. You can light the pointy side of it, and then blow to make smoke.

they would serve a dual purpose.. one for safe halloween decorations and another for me to put in the bedroom so i don't have nightmares, they last long enough on a charge that i can pass out with a calm flicker and wake up to charge them.

This is the one I got and I love it! You can either set entire jars on top to melt or put wax in the tray. I use some little glass bowls I have in addition to the wax tray so I can rotate without actually taking the melted wax out of the tray if I want to switch the scent quick.

I have found the best way to get wax out of candles is to put the whole thing in the freezer for a day or two (or a few weeks when I forget they’re in there), remove from the freezer, scrape around the wax with a butter knife, and pop the whole thing out. For some reason, the wax comes out easier when it’s frozen. Then I portion my various waxes into sandwich bags by scent until I’m ready to use them. :)

You can use tea candles, you just need something to hold them because the metal gets really hot. Like a thick glove or something. Just test them out on like, your arm before you use them for sex.

I really enjoy the wax on my stomach, breasts (especially nipples), collarbones, and thighs. I'm not a fan of it anywhere near my groin because I don't do a good job of maintaining my pubic hair, and wax and hair equals obnoxious and painful.

There can totally be a game involved if that's your thing. If you're blindfolded and tied down, you can't tell where the wax is going to fall next, so sometimes my partner will run her hands over one area of my body, which like makes me think she's going to wax me there, but then I'll feel it dripping somewhere else completely. The surprise is part of the fun. Or sometimes she'll pour just a very tiny bit and stop. I can feel it cooling on my skin, and sometimes she blows on it to help it harden. Its a very unusual sensation, hard to describe.

Its a good way to get warmed up (har har) for more "serious" sex.

I'd definitely recommend flame-less candles. Something like this is pretty basic. Amazon also has colorful lights. You could also add to the decorative properties of the holder by puncturing holes in them in a decorative pattern using the old hail and hammer routine. you'll of course want to make sure you have something solid on the inside.

Through my research I've found it's cheaper to buy them already filled than to have to buy candles+holders. There are lots of ways to DIY decorate the glass as well.

Maybe let your photographer know that there will be a lot of candlelight, I think if the lighting is pretty low it can get tricky or they have to use flash. They'll know what's best but can't hurt to make sure he or she is prepared.

So I literally googled your request and came up with this list of lighting options in a black out. Regarding candles, the article listed this candle that seems pretty legit. Its more on the expensive side, but it seems to have that brightness (as well as safety) factor you are looking for. Hope this helps!

You could go as an Ood, pretty easily:

1. pick up some dark blue scrubs for cheap at a scrubs store (you could find one near a hospital) or order online
   
2. get a skin-ish-colored beanie online and sew (or safety pin) a chin-strap from it
   
3. get some pillow-stuff foam and cut it into curly tentacles... maybe? And cover it in red fabric, or spray/paint red, or maybe you could use red rubber bungee and cut it up, etc... somehow make some tentacles and sew it onto the chip part
   
4. Make a paper ball lantern, and put one of these inside, and connect underneath your tentacleys with... something you could probably find at a fabric store (??)
   
   Clearly this is more complicated than I thought. Weeping angel would be muuuch easier. Alternatively, order gas mask on amazon or halloween store, dress in old-timey nurse outfit, fake blood on your hand, walk around asking people if they're your mummy. Punch through walls. Of course, then you'll have to wear a gas mask all night.

My mom love lighted candles in room at night and I presented her this cat candle last year and she still says about it. She really loved it. I think I have to buy few more for her.

Ozium Spray will definitely help. I've also used Smoke Odor Exterminator candles and they work well too.

I love my Clean Cotton Yankee Candle, even when it's not burning, if you leave the lid off, it gives off a really fresh smell. I know quite a few people with dogs and (indoor) cats who have these and it makes their house smell fantastic.

The 80-hour version was posted on Reddit back June last year. I thought that it looked cool enough to risk $30 (thanks Amazon Prime!).

It's not that great really. It's like having a small 1" candle that burns and then goes out automatically (maybe an hour or so later) when it gets down to the metal holder. Then you have to mess with it to feed
more though.

It's the sort of thing that would be handy in a power outage, which is why I kept mine. I prefer either tea lights or regular taper candles for romantic dining.

Taste: I went to McCormick & Schmick's the other night and got their chocolate bag. omfg it was heavenly. The "bag" is made of chocolate, and it's filled with berries and a LOT of white chocolate mousse.

Smell: Yankee Candle in Buttercream. Also available at Bed Bath & Beyond.

This is incredible. It's the most amazing smell ever. I don't really even have to light it. I just leave it uncovered.

I'm going to go with /u/cheeseburger_humper and say that I think everyone needs a lovely birthday cake scented candle. Because you know, nothing cheers people up more than the smell of birthday cake. Ok, not true but it's in the top 10.

I don't need double talk, I need a veggie peeler since I've been using a sharp knife and tend to nick myself from time to time. And blood on the peeled veggies isn't really up to code, you know. :(

Agree. Maybe? These are cool (you can still buy them) because they are self-extinguishing and burn for a predictable amount of time depending on how many inches of candle rope you unwound.

These were also used as "courting candles." When a young gentleman came to call upon your daughter, you'd unwind maybe an hour or two of candle and light it. When the candle goes out, time for the suitor to go home.

I know Amazon is dickish but these candles are a steal and you'll have an array of colors to choose from. You could also make your own candles, which is pretty cheap if I remember correctly.
