fear cuts deeper than swords

1.) Something that is grey. probably the best thing invented.

2.) Something reminiscent of rain. who doesn't like doggy rain jackets? :3

3.) Something food related that is unusual. BACON

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. this item is something i would like to give to my boyfriend as a gift. he finally got his dream car on the road and we both love Judas priest.

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it! this book is a classic. if you have seen the movie then the book is even better. along with my grandparents being back round actors in the original movie. look the book, love the movies.

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related! cause its "cheap stuff"

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! i would never get bored with this. or tiss on my wishlist :3

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it. it's useless to me because i don't drink, but it's cool as fuck. (on wishlist, for my sister)

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why? I loved this movie when i first watched it. it's interesting, keeps you watching and it doesnt start out boring like most "scary movies" do. it's a movie i would suggest to all. (on wishlist)

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. it explains itself.. but you can hold a lot of stuff while out hunting zombies!

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals. my mother is a nail tech and i want to go to school as one so i can become one as well. this would help me become better at doing nails while i 'practice' on people.

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items. do you want a stinky toilet?

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why? i've always been a huge fan of sugar skulls and i would love this in my room. it's not a dream item but it is the highest priced item on my wishlist. i think it's beautiful.

14.) Something bigger than a bread box. on my wishlist. isn't it pretty? :)

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball. on my wishlist. " a golf ball weighs no more than 1.620 oz (45.93 grams), has a diameter not less than 1.680 in (42.67 mm)" my item is 1.25 in.

16.) Something that smells wonderful. i'm native american so i enjoy burning incense and sage. don't know about you, but it's a wonderful thing to me.

17.) A (SFW) toy. who doesn't like laser pointers? dog people. thats who.

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school. fuck, i'm 17 and i'd buy this for myself!

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be. i'm obsessed with Judas Priest, as well as my boyfriend. i need to knew sweatshirt and i've been trying to convince my parents to get me this one. Turbo Love by Judas Priest is my boyfriend and I's song to each other, he just got his car on the road so his license plate is dedicated to that song. (wishlist item)

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand. you may not think this is so amazing, but holy shit who wouldn't want to fucking float on a donut? i mean paint yourself yellow and just call yourself mothafuckinnn homer simpson! or this you'd have the best skinny dip of your life!

this was really fun! thank you :)

u/basiljohnson · 2 pointsr/festivals
  1. My pod poi, I have them in hand for a solid chunk of the time I'm at festivals.
  2. Cooling towel. If you can get a good one these things are lifesavers when it's hot out. And they feel amazing when you're in altered states. Full discretion I sell a pretty great version of them, but we had them made because we used them first and wanted to make them better. Check them out here
  3. Mint tins like these. Usually I'll have one with mints in it for flavor and another that's empty. Maybe the best container for party favors, joints, etc that I've found for festivals. It's unassuming and looks normal to have, it's rigid so even if you sit on it you won't crush what's inside, and the stuff inside will stay happy.
  4. If you need to keep stuff in the cooler but don't want it to get wet (chocolate, makeup, party favors, wax/hash, whatever else) go for one of these boxes. They're for boating so they're watertight, come in a bunch of different sizes, I've got a medium/small one and a huge one that I ordered thinking it was smaller.

Ohhh Susan's Place! Haha, I remember finding that site when I was just starting out. I don't mind commenting here, I'm pretty open haha. But yeah, puberty was rough. So, when I was in second grade, probably about 8, my mom told me I'd need to start wearing a training bra soon. I remember being absolutely horrified, and when I took my next bath, I pressed on my chest as hard as I could to try to keep them from growing! [blood, period trigger warnings coming up] Then, two weeks after I turned 10, I had my first period. It's actually kind of a funny story; my mom says she'd talked to me about periods before, but I didn't remember that, so I had no idea what was happening. I was kind of freaked out, but then I remembered that the day before, I'd eaten a whole bag of Canada Mints, the pink ones. So, I assumed that they had turned my pee pinkish-red for some reason... not sure where that logic came from, or how I explained not being able to control it, but I accepted it and decided to see what happened the next time I ate them. In the meantime, I used toilet paper in place of a pad or anything. Well, about a month later, I was craving Canada Mints, and I ate another bag. The next day, my period happened again. I was convinced! Well, I guess my mom saw some blood in the toilet or something because she was all like, "You had your period!" and gave me pads and stuff and I was horrified. I had been sitting on the couch and I buried the pads under a pillow and just cried my eyes out. A while later, I let my sister show me how to use them but I just felt empty inside. Something felt just so seriously wrong and I felt sick. I remembered being so sure as a little kid that I'd get a penis and now I was as far from that as possible and I didn't know what to do. It was really rough. Interestingly, my hips didn't expand until I was 18 and that seemed to happen overnight after my birthday; I went up 2 pant sizes in like a month! That didn't particularly bother me because I want kids, and I was trying really hard to be cis haha, I was mostly annoyed because I had to get rid of all my pants. Even now I only have like 4 pairs that fit, haha! I'd be happy to hear your experiences too, if you want to share! :)

You're welcome with the advice. :) Oh yeah, cost is bad. I used to take Zoloft, which wasn't too bad with my insurance, but I'm on Cymbalta now because I also have fibromyalgia and it helps with that, and a month's worth is like $40. I'm going to try to look up manufacturer's coupons by the time I get on HRT because meds are really expensive and everyone in my family takes multiple ones. That being said, sometimes there's good discounts on meds - I got Breo Ellipta for free this year and last year when it would have been over $100 a month for me by using a coupon! Oh yeah, I hate big crowds like that. When I went to Pride in June it was way more crowded than I expected and as much as I loved the vibe, it also made me feel very trapped. My worst ever anxiety attack wasn't even social-related, I don't think - I was in 7th grade and we were playing dodgeball, and some girl (who was kind of mean tbh) broke her leg, it wasn't graphic or anything but I remember being so panicked that everything was blurry and in slow motion, and voices sounded all distorted. Thankfully that hasn't happened again!

u/ErinGlaser · 1 pointr/travel

Okay. I'm here for this.

I've tried everything for this because I always suffer from motion sickness but I enjoy doing things involving motion-- planes, boats, cars, etc.

Ginger can work, so try drinking some ginger ale and, if you're a fan of ginger, carry some ginger candy with you on the plane. Dramamine often works for me and that's an easy go-to, just make sure you take it 30 minutes before the plane takes off and prepare to get sleepy. Some people swear by the pressure wristbands but they never worked for me. I even tried an electronic relief band that's supposed to interrupt the signal your stomach sends to your brain telling you to feel sick, but it's uncomfortable, made my hand spasm, and ultimately gave me blisters. The most effective treatment for me BY FAR has been the transdermal scopolamine patch. It's a time-release patch you wear on your neck behind your ear and it's good for three days. It's AMAZING-- it's all I use now. Almost no side effects-- no drowsiness at all-- but make sure you wash your hands after applying it because if you get the medication from the patch in your eye it'll temporarily dilate your pupil. It's a prescription, too, so you'd need to get your GP to prescribe it, but it's definitely worth the hassle. I recently took a cruise from Buenos Aires to Elephant Bay, Antarctica through notoriously bad seas-- not to mention all the flying to get to SA in the first place-- and the patches made the entire experience a DELIGHT.

Best of luck to you!

This really depends on what you consider "reasonably" priced for VIP's.

Also where is this event happening? In the USA, Europe? Do you have time to order things internationally and wait a month for shipping from Japan?

Commemorative candy usually goes well, most everyone likes sweets, something like This is decent and only 9$ each. It can be something they can eat at the venue then the tin makes a nice collective piece of anime memorabilia.

Wagashi or traditional sweets if you want to go a more Japanese less anime route for sweets that are a bit more upscale.

Sorry for the delay, I'm ready to type it up now:

I'll get myself my weed, weigh out 1/3g, usually 0.35g and grind it up. Mix that was a tiny bit of tobacco and fill the end of the joint with tobacco (you'll smoke mostly just weed this way and you'll know when to stop because it'll taste like unfiltered tobacco).
Depending on what I have in I'll either take out a real fruit smoothie or juice, if I have nothing good in a bottle of water I can squeeze is just as good.
Put in headphones, smoke slowly and inhale it all in, if you can suck and inhale at the same time do that, if not just take it in smaller but deeper breaths. Personally it's best for me to smoke half the joint then stop and wait for it to slap me in the face to carry on. If my mouth is just spitcity then I'll buy some hard mints and I can manage to smoke with no problem.
After you've finished you should be significantly blazed, especially if you don't smoke often.

To ease my anxiety or whatever I prefer to listen to music I can get deep into. I find anything busy such as hip-hop, classical or blues is my best way to stop my brain from thinking and just to listen.
If I smoke with a group of people I'll have to spend some time alone.

You can do what you want when you're high however I find reading, drawing or even deep thinking to be the best way to spend my time. I play CS:GO or SC2 when I'm high as I find that I'm able to concentrate better however take this and the rest of my experiences with a pinch of salt, every reacts differently to being high.

I hope this helps.

I would love this Violet and anise pastille candy because I loved it as a kid and I recently discovered that it still exists, and I would really love to try it again. So, I mainly want it for reasons of nostalgia. X-Ray and Vav!

u/TheDreadPirateBikke · 6 pointsr/LifeProTips

I bought a big pack of orange tictacs from amazon like this except I think it was like 3 of those.

I kept them on my desk at an old job. The really cute girl from marketing use to come around and chat for me to hit me up for some. And the really hot girl from the call center use to come by and do the same. The really cute girl was married though and the really hot girl had tons of issues.

Oh well, I still enjoy orange tic tacs.

u/HoneyWizard · 2 pointsr/cassetteculture

Yep! Pretty straightforward mod. You desolder the trim pot, then solder three wires to the pads where the trim pot was. After that, solder the other end of the three wires to your potentiometer and you're done as far as the sound's concerned. For usefulness/cosmetcs, I cut a hole in my Walkman case to run the wires out, then poked a hole in the side of an Altoids tin, sanded away the rough edges, and threaded the other end of the wires through. Then I drilled a hole in the top of the Altoids tin big enough to get the potentiometer shaft to fit through and spin freely while still being snug. When I was sure of that, that's when I soldered the wires to the pot. Then I hot-glued the pot into the backside of the tin's top lid (it's too small to glue to the tin bottom), being careful not to cover any wires or pads, closed the lid, put down the numbered dial position circle thing (with some gorilla glue to make sure it'd stay in place), and finally put the potentiometer's knob on. Here's the exact pot I used and the Ouija Altoids tin.

The reason I don't trust my handiwork is I didn't have a Dremel for the Walkman case hole, and had to use wire-cutters to snip off bits instead. I sanded it down a little, but I could've done a better job. I'm worried it'll cut the wires over time. The wires themselves are also pretty long (about 18") and prone to tangling. The length is enough that I can keep the Walkman on a belt-clip while holding the Altoids tin at waist-height, but I mostly use it on my desk, so it's pointless. If I make another, I'll halve the length and add a few bands to keep the wires straight and tangle-free.

Hrrrmmm. Someone messed up when updating something. That accoutrements company sells all kinds of strange things though. I get the catalog for their non-wholesale company Archie McPhee. I used to like buying their mystery boxes, you get all kinds of random fun things for a good price.
Protip- never order zombie mints. They really do taste like brains.
I'm sure the pickle flavored gumballs taste like pickles too.

u/Taeis · 5 pointsr/funny

I love those strawberry candies! My grandmother always kept a big jar of those and these other ones that are similar but in a ton of other fruit favors that were awesome too https://www.amazon.com/Assorted-Fruit-Filled-Candies-Lb-Bag/dp/B00FX6NHRE

u/masturbatin_ninja · 1 pointr/SocialEngineering

I read the study and they used chocolate, not mints. I would recommend these Andes After Dinner Mints. On Amazon you can buy 20 lbs/1200 pcs for $55 with free shipping That works out to be 0.045 cents each. Giving them 8 pieces (using the 1+1 method discussed in the study) would be 0.37 cent investment per table of 4.

These Pearson's® Mint Patties - 240 ct. are about the same price with tax but they are bigger. The study discussed the size of the gift impacting the customer's desire to offer reciprocity.

u/unicorndanceparty · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

It's surprising how useful something so small and cheap can be! They are a lifesaver.

They are online, but only in bulk :) I'm the same way, I prefer the large ones over the petites.

Here are some that are sold on amazon!

They’re just tiny green trees. There isn’t anything wrong with them they just aren’t very strong. I attached the amazon link just for pictures sake but yeah.

As someone who has diabetic family members, and just lost a father to complications from diabetes, I actually appreciated this post. It's true...tic tacs have sugar as their main ingredient, yet it is often advertised as sugar free, because 'technically' it meets the requirements, although it would give a diabetic a sugar issue for sure. I have a problem with that. I just think that its pedantic to point out that they don't actually say 'sugar free' on the package. If you look at the back, it says 'sugar, 0 grams,' and that's what most people look at. I think that if your product itself weighs less than a gram, you should have to list your daily values as milligrams. It's just misleading, and although most smart people know better, diabetics, in general, for the most part got there because they're not that smart when it comes to food intake and looking at ingredients.

u/Ultramerican · 2 pointsr/guitarpedals

First post with signal chain and test layout pre-build.

Second post with construction and staining process.

I submitted late last night as a text post and it didn't get many (any) eyeballs, so I'm resubmitting now as an album. Mods, if I fucked up, do your thing.

I spent the time to measure everything beforehand, added some inches onto length and width of the deck, added a half inch to the height, and it ended up being exactly right. If I'd not arbitrarily added size to it over what I thought I needed, I'd be squeezed for space at best, and unable to fit everything I want in the layout I want at worst.

Will add 1/4" locking couplers ("solderless jacks") to it at another time. For now, it's complete.

It looks gorgeous, and my biggest regret is that I only have my iPhone to take pictures of it for this album. It's sturdy, has plenty of space for everything, and is already inspiring me to play on it. Worth every penny of the $17 I spent on the plank of wood from Home Depot.

I'm going to shake things up a bit and use a Newman's Own Ginger Mint Tin to be a hipster, but that arrives with the patch cables on Saturday.

Any questions, please ask away! And if anyone has thoughts on the Korg Pitchblack Poly vs the TC Electronic Polytune Mini, please let me know. I can't decide which one to get to replace my last tuner.

u/thesishelp · 1 pointr/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

You can get some from here.

IMO, they taste OK. People have said they taste like cupcakes. This is not exactly true. They also smell more like bacon rather than actually tasting like bacon. If you really want to try this, buy these locally so you won't have to pay ridiculous shipping fees for a small pack of novelty mints.

u/etihw_retsim · -1 pointsr/AskReddit

I had a CS professor in college that would pass around a jar of Bob's Sweet Stripes a couple of times per class to help us stay focused. Now, whenever I program, I get a craving for them. You'd think that would have gone away after a few years...

Ice Breakers Sours. There's at least two different kinds. SOOOOO GOOD. But try not to eat the whole container within like an hour, or else you'll have to spend some quality time on the toilet.

I really like the Ice Breakers Sours. You can find them at Walmart, Target and some grocery stores in the check out lanes. They do have questionable sweeteners, but I find that if I am craving something sour, I only need 2 or 3 to satisfy my craving. u/peacelovearizona · 2 pointsr/stopsmoking

They created the crush because psychologically they know it appeals to the touch and taste senses and it's "satisfying" in the moment. And unhealthy. These candies both can be crushed with your mouth and have a minty taste so every time you feel inclined to that sensation, you can have a candy. An idea to help wean off of smoking.
