20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand.

This book is about the song Hallelujah (which is a beautiful song) and how it became to be one of the most recorded songs in history. It was originally kind of a failure but somehow made it to the place where it is today where it has been performed by hundreds of musicians. I find it amazing that this song that almost didn't make it onto the album it was originally written for. When it did make it to the album it was a flop, yet here we are listening to this song that has become so popular.

Wait his diet seems really wrong to be honest... sorry no offence.

Hay should be 90% of his diet. Hay is what keeps the GI system healthy and teeth from overgrowing. Please really adjust his diet.

Also never feed human carbs like tortilla chips and bread - I know you are going to thing, what does she know... please trust me these are super bad for a bunny even in small amount. The best treat is fresh fruit, but if you must they sell bunny biscuits that you buy for treats that are much better than human carbs - like this.

Please adjust his diet ASAP before it is too late as his poops indicate something is really wrong.

The proper diet for an adult bunny is - UNLIMITED hay, 1/4 cup MAX of plain pellets per day - only 4 tablespoons (not colorful bits or seed in them), 1 to 2 cups of green leafy veggies. Carrot, kale, and fruit only as occasional very small treats. No yogurt drops or processed sugars, seeds, nuts, or carbs.

Proper diet:

  1. Unlimited hay - good quality unlimited hay should always be available.

    1. Hay should be timothy or orchard. Never alfalfa - alfalfa is to rich for an adult and also causes kidney stones.
  2. Pellets - 1/4th cup per day MAX - that is 4 tablespoons! Stand your ground!

    1. Pellets should not be alfalfa - look at the ingredients, if alfalfa is first or second, you have to change the brand.
    2. Also a good brand is very important - pellets should be PLAIN without any of the colorful bits like treats, dried fruit, cereals, nuts and seeds. All these for bunnies are like junk food to humans (yes pet stores 100% don't care and just sell the stuff that looks the best to unsuspecting customers) and excess sugar and carbs can cause major issues for bunny's very delicate digestive system by disrupting the bacteria balance and also cause weight gain. Try to select the pellet brand higher is fiber and lower in protein and fat. Look at the ingredients and select a product that has hay/grass listed at the very top of the list and has as few other ingredients (such as oats, cereals, meals, flour, soy, etc) as possible. All of these are "extra" additives that fill up the space in bunny's tummy and result in less hay consumption also.

      1. http://www.therabbithouse.com/diet/rabbit-food-comparison.asp - brand comparison here to select the brands that fit the parameters the best (note that fat should only be 1.5% to 2% for a normal bun, not 5% like they specify).
      2. https://www.amazon.com/Oxbow-Animal-Health-Essentials-Food-10lbs/dp/B003SLLF48/ref=sr_1_2?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1538070583&sr=1-2&keywords=oxbow%2Brabbit%2Bfood&th=1- these are quite good, easy to find and used a lot of people
    3. Greens - 1 to 2 cups per day (or 1 to 2 platefuls)

      1. Selecting the right greens is key - greens should be green, as for example some veggies like peppers and carrots are high in sugar and should only be given as small treats, not daily veggies.
      2. Try dark leafy greens like arugula, romaine lettuce, spring mix, spinach, celery, carrot greens, bok choy; also, fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, oregano, dill, mint, basil. Kale (only give in limited quantities).
      3. The best way it to rotate veggies from day to day so the bunny gets a variety of nutrients.
      4. This list has great insights https://rabbit.org/suggested-vegetables-and-fruits-for-a-rabbit-diet/.
    4. Treats -

      1. Treats should be small potions and occasional, not with every meal ---->>> fruit + carrot is a treat so give in small amounts - about 2 thumbs width of banana is one portion, a couple raspberries or blueberries, 1 mid sized strawberry, one larger grape, 1 baby carrot, etc. if you give dried fruit - give less at the concentration of sugar is higher.
      2. Never give any processed foods like yogurt drops

These are so fun

edit: also all of this is already on my WL, i forgot to say that. EDIT: I stopped being lazy and came back and found the ones I was missing, so they're not on my WL but I specified that by each of them

1. Something grey I guess this is really silver... oops.

2. Reminiscent of the rain Not on my WL

3. Something food related that's unusual

4. Something for someone else - My girlfriend had a stroke last year and when she was in the hospital on all her medication she was telling me she wanted a Pooh Bear pillow pet and her grandma got her a "happy napper" in the shape of a bee or something and she spent days telling me she
needed a Pooh Bear pillow pet and I've looked everywhere for one for her since last July but I can't find one!

5. A book you need to read - This is the book A Christmas Story was kind of based on and that's my favorite Christmas movie because it's
hilarious.

6. Under $1
Not on my WL

7. Something related to cats

8. Something not useful but so beautiful I must have it

9. A movie everyone must watch - My best friend saw this a few years ago on TV and when she was telling me about it I thought it sounded so stupid but she made me come over and watch it anyway and it's seriously the funniest movie I've ever seen. Anyone who likes movies that are kind of stupid-funny absolutely needs to see it because I laugh so hard every single time.

10. Something that would be useful when zombies attack - An external charger in case your phone dies when you're not around somewhere you can plug it in when you're out fighting or hiding from zombies would be super important so you can stay in contact with people and make sure they're not turned into/being eaten by zombies

11. Something that has had an impact on your life - Highlighting things for school so I can find them later has been more helpful than listening during class. Except I go crazy and highlight the entire page.

12. An add-on item

13. Most expensive item - My explanation for this is the biggest "first world problem" in the universe, but oh well. I'm a college student and my current computer is a desktop so I can't take it to class with me or work on stuff before class in the student lounge and I can't lay in bed and watch Netflix and when I move across the country soon after graduation, I'm gonna have to pack it all up and move it with me and it's gonna take up so much space and it's just such a pain. Plus, this computer is getting kind of old and slow and it'll randomly just turn off and it's so annoying and I've tried everything to fix it and everything that people who have looked at it have told me haven't been able to help and I'd really rather just get a new computer because it would be so much easier for the future. Wow, that sounded so whiny.

14. Something bigger than a bread box

15. Something smaller than a golf ball

16. Something that smells wonderful

17. SFW toy

18. Something that would be helpful going back to school. - I have class 3 hours a day, 5 days a week and I get starving sitting there that long so I always try to take something with me to eat, but it's so annoying to try and find something to put it in or have it get crushed in the packaging and stuff.

19. Something related to your current obsession

20. Something so amazing you must see it - IT'S A BIG BOX OF GEL PENS, NOTHING IS COOLER! I remember when they sold them at the store by my grandma's when I was like 8 and they were like $2.79 each so I could never get any, when I finally could get them they weren't cool anymore but I still loved them.

BONUS - Something made in Oregon. *Not on my WL

  • This is Thom. No birthday pictures, unfortunately, but there is one of him wearing pajamas, which is adorable! He loves looking outside! So for his last birthday, I opened the door whenever he meowed at it for a special treat. He also loves when I make the bed, so I put my sheets on a few times for him. And he was showered with treats and love all day!
  • I know "inbread" cats are old news now, but this picture still makes me laugh every time I see it. Yay bad puns and adorably ugly kitties!
  • Thom would love these!!! He can't get enough treats. We go through a ton of them. He's just such a good boy, I can't resist giving him one or two or twelve!
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY WINSTON!

I have a pet bunny. Her name is Bunny (looong story) and she is the best darn bunny in the world!

She's a Mini Lop and has the cutest floppity ears. She LOVES going outside and running around and just relaxing. When she's indoors she likes sitting on the hearth and watching TV with my family. Even at dinnertime, she'll follow us to the table and eat her own dinner in her special little dish on the ground. She's potty-trained (which she did on her own) and knows to go to bed when we tell her. She's basically a tiny little dog, hehe.

I love Bunny to pieces. :3 <3 I found these super cool apple treats on Amazon recently, and I bet she'd really like them! I've never seen in stores before, and I would love to surprise her with these treats and make her little day.

My friend's dog has this toy and he freaking loves it. It's fun to play tug-of-war or fetch with it, but also doggie likes to play with it himself, too. Just thrashing it about and chewin' on it and stuff. There's no stuffing, and there's multiple uses, so it sounds like it might be a good fit for you and your dog!

Thank you so much for hosting this contest! I love hearing about and seeing pictures of everyone's furry friends. =)

u/acciocorinne · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My name is Leela!

I would like these treats. I also like this toy, but Mom says it's 50 cents too expensive. Whatever that means.

Viktor, tell your mom to get you this! I would like to play with that and you. Between my good looks (Mom says I have a one-of-a-kind face, which means I am the most beautiful cat) and your hypnosis, I think we would make a great benevolent dictatorship duo. Hanners can come too, I like dogs...but I think Viktor and I will see more eye-to-eye. Or I guess, eye-to-eyes...you have two of them, Viktor? How unusual!

I want to be friends with Hanners and Viktor :)

Not sure what your budget is, but there are a few suggestions I can make.

2. Make grooming easy with bribes! Healthy treats like Catty Shack or Greenies make Brush Time easier for both parties.

3. A lot of professional groomers charge an arm and a leg for cats (because of their arms and legs), so do the grooming yourself! You will need a Furminator, nail clippers, and cleansing wipes. Groom often, and invest in a scratching post.

4. As long as you are using a tool for grooming cats (i.e.: Furminator) you don't have to worry about overdoing it. Brush as thoroughly as you can, and stop when your brush starts coming out clean (or nearly free of loose hairs).

5. General tips: Buy the best food your budget allows. Preferably wet food, or a diet half wet food and half dry food. Go grain free, like Merrick and/or Soulistic. For a healthy, shiny coat I would recommend Pet Naturals' Daily Best; And to reduce hairballs, Hairball. Don't use hairball remedies that contain petroleum jelly, it will give your baby the runs :(

u/NYSenseOfHumor · 1 pointr/dogs

If your goal is to have all the dogs love you, and this is a great goal, the have more than one kind of treat.

I recommend something both soft and crunchy, since some dogs dislike one or the other.

Soft

Blue Buffalo Wilderness Denali Stix with Wild Salmon, Venison, & Halibut

This flavor is fish based, and a lot of dogs love it because of the strong smell. Your coworkers may not love it, but the goal is for the dogs to love you, not your coworkers.

This is another flavor of the same treat, the smell is less strong but since not many people but alligator & catfish for their dogs, you will have something special for them (if they like the taste)

The sticks are large, so break them into thirds or quarters, for small dogs break those in half so it would be a sixth or an eighth of the full stick.

Crunchy

Bare Bites - 100% All Natural Dehydrated Beef Liver Treats are a popular choice. The pieces are big, so you can easily break them into something more appropriately sized.

u/DROP-the-left-hand · 2 pointsr/Pets

I know you've tried Blue Buffalo brand treats, but did you try Blue Wilderness specifically? My cat has never taken treats when she was out in public on her harness, especially from other people, until a nice lady at a little family-run pet store gave us a bag of the Chicken & Turkey treats for free and hand fed her one. I've seen those at about every pet store I've been to, I think, but I know for a fact that they have them at PetSmart.

My cat's favorite treats are probably the weird mushy liquidy ones like these brands, though?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KVUABGQ?psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T76GKIE?psc=1
The ones in the tubes are great if you want to train him, cause you can just squeeze a little bit out on the tube and let him lick that off and it's about as quick as feeding kibble-like treats.

And I've only gotten these for my cat once while we were on vacation in North Carolina (the only place I've seen them) but she LOVED them soo much.

I feed my cats natures variety instinct raw boost dry cat food and rotate flavors and a bit of wellness core in case one gets recalled. Also, my cats eat fancy feast classic wet food. It has the appropriate amount of protein. It's also grain free. Many fancy grain free wet foods are 70% fat and 30% protein. Fancy feast classic has much higher protein. It's not the best wet food, but it's the one they will eat consistently. Plus they each get 6 oz a day each so it's 70 dollars a month just for the wet. My vet says they are the healthiest cats she's ever seen. I also brush their teeth ever other day. But I have ragdolls so it's easy to brush their teeth. Very docile.

The best wet food is tiki cat line of food. The sardines are great and so is the chicken. It's packed full of protein.

I also feed my cats raw freeze dried chicken hearts as a treat. They love them, go nuts for them. http://www.amazon.com/Fresh-Best-Freeze-Chicken-Treats/dp/B0036VE3V2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410048872&sr=8-1&keywords=Freeze+dried+raw+chicken+hearts

Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.

I am a huge fan of a good 'face' shot - and that tongue sticking out is to dye for- so I would say definitely an adorable puppy. And the sheer fact that you said 'my favourite day of adventures' means that should be included because when every you see it- it will bring back the memories of that day - and it sounded like an amazing one.

This was Heccubus He was very much my baby for over 10 years. I miss him so much but he was the very best cat - he helped me get through a very nasty divorce - even lived in the car with me for a while - and without much complaint. He is was kept me alive through some really rough years.

The kitties of the house tell me they need these

u/honilee · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This is my cat, Jack. He is going on five years old and he is my little buddy.

My mom found him and his brother in the garden next to her front porch when they were around six weeks old--too young to be without their mother. She waited for mama-cat to come back, but when she didn't my mama took them under her wing and did her best to find homes for them since she had enough pets as it was.

We didn't have any luck finding them new homes and the no-kill shelter was full so I ended up talking my dad (whose house I was living in at the time) into letting me keep one. I really liked Jack's brother, but Jack really liked me and I had heard before to pick the animal that chooses you, so I brought him home. (His brother found a home with one of my friends and became known as Freddie, but unfortunately went missing less than a year after she got him.)

I originally wanted to name him Alexander, but my dad nixed that name. In fact, he didn't like any names I chose--vetoing Jasper and Gerrard before we somehow settled on Jack. He is known as Jack, Jackey, Jack-jack, Jackeroni, and Baxter around our house and actually comes when he's called. Well, he answers to Jack-jack anyway.

He's my buddy; he comes to the door when I get home and follows me around the house. He snuggles up to me when I'm on the computer--he's lounging over my arms right now--and when I go to bed. Earlier this year, he became a lap cat and actually began willing snuggling up on my lap--so happy~

He's got me well-trained, too. When he scratches on his scratching post, he gets a treat. It started out as me giving him a treat as positive reinforcement when he scratches on his post, but he's a smart little guy: he's turned the tables on me! At least he doesn't scratch anything else in the house, so hey, it all works out.

Here's another picture of my Jack-jack Kitty-kat that I just took--he's looking so peeved since I moved my arm--his pillow--to get this shot. Aren't they cute?

u/Mb12090 · 2 pointsr/Pets

All cats are different but in most cases even the picky ones will like wet food. Try heating it up just a bit so the smells come out. Have you tried the new filets they are selling as treats now? Most of them come individually wrapped in with plastic over mostly different variations of fish. It reminds me of the whole fish filets they sell for people. My cats all really like the salmon and tuna ones from fancy feast. Mine are also obsessed with canned whipped cream! It sounds weird but they love it. Be careful though because a lot of cats are lactose intolerant and can cause stomach upset. So just don’t give them a lot and watch for signs of that. If you don’t have the Cat Dancer brand toy you definitely need to get one. Every single one of my cats love that stupid little thing and it’s only like $1.77 on Amazon or Chewy. You can also try these squeeze up treats that have really good reviews on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Delectables-Squeeze-Interactive-Wet-Treats/dp/B07TJF6F1Q/ref=zg_bsnr_2975311011_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=A5F8Q9NR4G49X9JVJZMX

Out of my 2 dogs and 2 cats, Mary Jane is my favorite. She has so much personality and is such a beautiful cat. I rescued her around 3 years ago and she shows her love by laying on your chest. One of her funniest quirks is that she will only drink fresh running water. It's super frustrating having a cat posted up next to the sink waiting for you to turn it on.

Here is a link to my imgur album containing more pics of my babies.

Here are some things on my amazon wish list for my pets.

I'm sorry to hear about your Buddy, dear. I couldn't imagine the loss. I am so scared for my two little bears, it's just a feeling I can't toss.

This is nine year old Netti and her young friend Spaghetti, they are my heart and soul. They've brought me such joy by destroying their toys, but their playing can be hard to control.

So my item is this, it's a wonderful gift and may mellow my little bears out. Or it could not work and go in reverse, then they will just have to go without.

Also, pancakes make the world taste better =]

I bought a huge bag of catnip a while back from Amazon I gave a few little bags of it to friends with cats and the rest I have been using for tea. It is not particularly tasty at first but after a while you get used to it and honey or sugar helps with the flavor. I drink it before bed, it has a nice calming and relaxing effect. From what I've heard from my friends it's the most potent catnip they've given to their cats.

u/bbdoll · 1 pointr/cats

i brush my cats teeth, sometimes daily but sometimes i get busy and skip a couple of days. we use CET toothpaste and i think it probably tastes good for them. i started with my finger and moved up to a 360 toothbrush which i think she kinda hates but tolerates. i might switch toothbrushes soon, to something even smaller. my vet was super impressed by her teeth, she's going on 5 and hasn't needed anything done to them. by this age many cats have to be put under to get teeth cleanings.

i would not feed dental food. feeding kibble in general just isn't worth it, health wise. pick a product from the Veterinary Oral Health Council's approved product list. anything else is not proven and therefore questionable. the one i picked out was Purina Dentalife treats.

hope this helps!

u/neilalicious · 1 pointr/germanshepherds

On top of what /u/UnrulySupervisor said make sure your treats are attractive enough. The small training treats that we use at home work perfect in that environment, but my dog is completely unresponsive to them if we're out and about. You'll have to try different things to find out what works, mine is really responsive to freeze-dried chicken hearts, he'll choose that (and therefore me) over anything going on around him which is really useful.

looks like Majesty to me. while google search says they are non-toxic to cats i would urge you to get a plant that your cat can satisfy it's need to crunch leaves on safely. plus you will help protect your palm. Wheat Grass/oats on amazon often sold as "cat-grass" is cheap and quick grower that cats love. many pet stores sell it as well.

u/BeetleDeetz · 7 pointsr/myfavoritemurder

Not literal cookies but my cats love Temptations cat treats . That link is for the catnip flavor but they have others like seafood, salmon, chicken, etc. They’re also available at stores like Target & Walmart and also comes in smaller pouches, but the larger tub is a better buy for my greedy kitties :)

u/armchairjedi66 · 2 pointsr/Wishlist

I have animals have their own personalities. Every animal I've ever loved has been completely different from the others. I have had pets that have been very loving and cuddly, and others who have been very active and playful. I have pets who have been very protective and strong and others who have been more timid and scared.

Currently I have a bunny and cat. The bunny is not your typical bunny you see on TV. He doesn't want to be petted and isn't very cuddly. But loves to be chased and to play fetch with his treats. My cat is a weirdo who loves the idea of water. She watches it out of the faucet and watches the rain. But she hates to be wet. She fell into the bath tub the other day and freaked out. But 15 minutes later, she was on the edge of the tub trying to see the faucet again. Like I said, a weirdo.

My vet said that most kitties HAVE the virus in their bodies, the same way most humans have the human papilloma virus in their bodies - it just doesn't always "express"/flare up. Only about 20% of kitties will have flare-ups, and usually they aren't severe.

My vet recommended giving my cat lysine treats. He said it's similar to a human who gets cold sores (caused by, you guessed it, a herpes virus!). Lysine can help control/prevent flare-ups in kitties with the herpes virus. You can either buy lysine capsules meant for humans and stir it into canned food, or you can buy lysine treats. These are the ones my vet recommended:

You'll want to give your cat the equivalent of around 250 mg of lysine/day. You actually probably want to give the treats/capsules to both Ernie and Barney, since, if Barney didn't carry the feline herpes virus before, he does now.

There's not much else you can do, but feline herpes virus is NOT fatal. Flare-ups are usually very mild and cause little pain/discomfort. Your kitties probably won't rack up huge vet bills from it. If you keep your kitties in good health/happiness, you probably will not see any bad "attacks" of the feline herpes virus.

Cats don't get cold sores, but the most common effects of a FHV flare-up are runny/watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion. You can help ease the discomfort of these symptoms by putting the cat in a room with a humidifier (or a bathroom with the shower running for a bit).

I usually just have someone I know and trust to come in to hang out with them and feed/water them. I always feel a bit bad, but the person always does a great job.
I would love to get her some cat grass! It's a little over five dollars, but she has so many toys already. :/

Kim Jong Undead.

This thing is my cat's favorite toy. He loses his mind whenever we get it out.

These are his favorite treats. He LOVES them.

Good nutrition is very important to fur health. Feed him good food. Maybe supplement with Lisine. We have a six year old rescue that had bad fur and "hot spots". We got him on Hill Science Diet and started giving him the Lysine treats and he's a silky boy now.

That's my answer too. I know that humans have the ability and consciousness to control their mouths when eating, ie MANNERS, but animals do not have the same awareness of themselves, so it's excusable. I love feeding my cat a tube treat and hearing his little licks and smacks, but so help me gods, if I hear a human chew with too much saliva in their mouths I lose my cool.

You said he likes prank gifts, so what about this majestic pooping dogs calendar? Or you could get him this cat grass and planter for his feline friends?

u/Bubba310 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This would be my thing We are running low on these and two of our kitties LOVE them!

And the good deed is.. I took my kitten to the vet and stopped at Taco Bell for lunch and the manager gave my little girl chicken and said how they recently rescued a kitten that got dumped into their dumpster! They named it Chalupa and one of the worked took it home!

I have these in my Pets list on Amazon. My cats are fiends for them and we have a hard time keeping a supply in the house for more than a few days, so they are always handy!

Thanks for the contest!

My cats kong cat nip and it comes with a free toy

u/maq0r · 20 pointsr/pics

Yup herpes.

Also, if your cat has a lot of eye issues like watery discharge and stuff; give them lysine it does wonders!

u/LicianDragon · 2 pointsr/ferrets

Freeze dried meat of any kind. The current business favorite are these freeze dried minnows. My oldest would eat nothing but these if I let her! My youngest is past the age of taking new foods though and the only treats he'll eat are the crappy ones for dogs so I keep a separate kibble flavor on hand for him that function as treats!

Sorry you had a bad day :( Watching my cat play with catnip always cheers me up :)

9:30PM: Shut down all electronics.
9:35PM: Give the cats their cookies.
9:40PM: Brush teeth, wash hands and face.
9:45PM: Get into bed with wifey. Depending on our moods, time for reading or sex.
10:30PM: Lights out. Cats are curled up at our feet. Time to sleep.
6:30AM: Wake up. Smell the napalm.

Yeah it might be, poor thing. In my experience, managing the flair ups is pretty doable, I just feel so bad when they're stuffed up. I've used the following three brands - if you have a picky cat, the Vetoquinol Enisyl-F is the one all 3 of mine have consistently liked, and was given to us the first time by a vet. Problem is it tends to run more expensive than the others. I've also used the Vetriscience lysine treats, only word of warning are these are sort of big and 'chewy' so the two of my cats who like these prefer them broken down into smaller pieces. This last one I know I've used before, but I can't remember anything about it and I haven't kept using it. One of my cats is very picky though so that's probably why.

u/connadon · 2 pointsr/CatAdvice

Have you tried wet treats (link below)? My cats go crazy for wet treats and we use them eaten the kitties need their claws trimmed.

Yup, pet store or Amazon--I wouldn't use human-type ones from the Asian market for fear that they'd have extra salt, though I do have The Tale Of The Spicy Squid Snack from my old cat...
