And for you kind sir:

I don't know how you would easily check your dietary omega ratio.

For spicy: I take it as a supplement. I started out with these and eventually switched over to these. For me taking 2-3 of the first linked or one of the extra hot started out equivalent to a handful of Ibuprofen in terms of how effectively it relieves my knee pain. Instead of lasting 4ish hours like Ibuprofen it would last ~24 hours. Over a month or so I think this allowed my knee to better heal (since I could take them once or twice a day and virtually eliminate inflammation). Nowadays I take sometimes forget to take them a day and the pain still doesn't return.

I think the first week or so I took 1 at a time 2-3 times a day to avoid firehole too. I'm able to take the extra hot ones now, occasionally 2-3 per day, without having to worry about that or stomach upset.

My brother in law, who is the sort of guy who eats the spiciest wings he can find, has also started taking them and has experienced similar relief in his hip. He is able to tolerate them on an empty stomach.

Obviously I can't guarantee what they'll do for anyone else but I thought it was worth mentioning. It's extremely cheap and instead of putting load on your liver/kidneys the way NSAID's do the side effects are mostly desirable (provided you take them during a meal to avoid stomach upset).

It's a game-changer for me though. Between strength training and capsaicin my knee is 100% managed nowadays and I hope to never have to go back to the orthopedic surgeon.

Fasting can increase autoimmune inflammation in some people for a variety of reasons in the short term. Long run it is virtually the only known treatment.
