I bought this AB86 band for my nexus, total was 24$ but that was for shipping within the US.

As for the armband. The phone fits perfectly into the band, easy in and out. Swiping is decent, towards the edges of the phone I sometimes need to swipe a few times to get it to work right. The phone also fits into the band when it has a cruzerlite Cover on, Its a little snug so when you are taking the phone out you sometimes have to wiggle it pretty good back n forth or peel the band back a little bit to get a good hold of the phone and get it out.

The ear-bud wrap is useful so you don't have some cord flailing around smacking you in the face the whole time you run like your in some bad porno.

The armband didn't feel secure at all when I first started using it. I kept tightening that strap over and over until I couldn't feel my arm anymore before it actually felt secure, I imagine I looked like Quasimodo running down the street with one half of his upper body paralyzed... When I got over that I realized the band would still have to slide down my arm I started to loosen it up. I found its a fine line between secure and comfortable, but the strap can be surprisingly loose and still stay right in place on my arm.

If you use one of those military grade plastic wet application screen protectors DO NOT USE this armband with it. My wife went through 2 XO protectors and a Zagg one. Basically the plastic on the armband adheres to the plastic on the phone protector, when you try and peel it off it pulls up the protector as well causing micro bubble under the protector and also causes tiny little rips.

I dont use my screen very often when running so I was looking into getting one of these. My biggest complaint is after a good run that little strap on the armband can start to cut off circulation even when loose. I like the idea of a more covered full arm sleeve for comfort and better protection of the phone when im running outside and it starts to rain.

Depends on your typical phone use.

Why S7?

  • Although the 6P does have a pretty nice camera, it does lack OIS.
  • The S7's water resistance also lets you do more adventurous photography that you can't do with a 6P unless you put it in a waterproof bag.
  • Why the 6P doesn't have 1080p@60fps video is beyond me.
  • The S7, like all of Samsung's S line phones, use top-shelf AMOLED panels, so you can be sure your photos look great on your phone. Because AMOLED panels are designed to look great when saturated, Samsung offers a few display modes for viewing photos the way they would look on other devices, such as the iPhone. (The 6P also offers this in the form of an sRGB mode.)
  • SD card slot. Enough said.
  • The S7 has more health features, such as the heart rate sensor.
  • IIRC the S7 can shoot RAW out of the box. You need to install a RAW camera app, such as Manual Camera, to get the same functionality on the 6P.

    Why 6P?

  • Like all Nexus devices, the 6P is backed by a large number of developers due to the inherent openness of Google's devices. So when Google stops sending out OTAs for the 6P, independent developers can keep your phone updated (and more importantly, secure) for years to come in the form of custom firmware. Samsung, on the other hand, locks all bootloaders and doesn't give out crucial parts of device code (except for the kernel source), which leaves developers to toil over unlocking and making custom firmware. They also stop making OTAs 18 months after device release.
  • The 6P comes with vanilla Android. Which means that apps built with the latest version of Android in mind will work beautifully with the 6P.
    • The S7, on the other hand, comes with a really-bad-but-is-a-bit-better-nowadays flavor of Android called TouchWiz. Because Samsung is the most popular Android manufacturer, Android app developers have to support a s**t ton of Samsung devices to make sure that people actually use their apps. Which is easier said than done.
    • Call me crazy, but aside from the fact that the S7 is designed to work with the Gear VR, one probable reason that the S7 is so powerful is that it needs to run all that bloat Samsung bakes in.
  • The 6P has USB-C, while the S7 has good old micro USB. Future-proofing, I guess.
  • The 6P has stereo speakers that. Sound. Amazing. Wish I could say the same for the headphone jack output, though.
  • On the S7, you have to press the home button to have the phone unlock with your fingerprint. The 6P reads your fingerprint the moment you touch the sensor, which is placed where your index would be when you hold the phone. A little quirk, but one worth mentioning.
  • The S7 has a 5MP front camera, the 6P has 8MP. The S7 also tends to overprocess photos, while shots on the 6P look a lot more natural (even though it's a bit underexposed at times).

TL;DR: If you're a media consumer, go with the S7. If you're looking for longevity, go with the 6P.

I looked around as well, and finally purchased the Tune Belt... I wear it almost daily when I go out cycling. A couple of things:

  • I don't think its listed as a feature, but I sweat like a motherfucker and my phone always comes out dry.
  • It has this little flap that you can wrap your headphone cord around in order to shorten it so you wont have your cord dangling everywhere as you exercise.
  • Touch sensitivity stays way up there, I was very pleasantly surprised.
  • I read a bunch of reviews saying the armband was too short and they had to buy the arm band extender. Personally, I didn't buy it, and I think the length is fine - but keep in mind a lot of people say it isn't long enough for them. I think the extender is like $2 though, but don't quote me on that.
  • Has three holes in the bottom to be as universal as possible - just so happens that it works, because one of the holes is right where the headphone jack is.

Anyway, yeah - good product, I'm happy, good luck with your purchase :)
u/EllMichelle · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

First, thank you for the contest. =) You're a keeper.

This is something I could really use for my runs, no music to run with is painful. It's on my "Iphone things" list.

Something I like about myself..hmm. Well, I get told I make people happy when they're feeling low. I like that about myself. I love making people smile when they wanna cry. It makes me happy to see others letting go and laughing. =)

Edit: WAIT?! Was it supposed to be physical? In that case, I really like my smile =)

u/baltikorean · 2 pointsr/galaxys4

Ordering this was one of the dumbest purchases I've made on Amazon. Since then the ratings had dropped significantly, but a year ago it looked like a good idea. POS was falling apart in a month.

I ended up getting the Belkin Slim Fit using Amazon Price Match at Best Buy. It's a snug fit on the phone, you definitely have to take the phone out of whatever case you're using, but I like it, and it still holds well.

u/kwh · 2 pointsr/running

I'm going to plug the Tune Belt arm band. I used to think it wouldn't work for me but it's great, if you have an iPhone4 in bumper case the Droid band fits perfectly. Other than that, I don't carry water, just hydrate before and make sure it's on my run route. Pretty much all my runs are outdoors.

u/brickwallkeeper19 · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

I use one when I run, which is going to jostle the band more then working around the house generally would, and it works great. It doesn't itch at all and stays in place well, and allows me to stay hands-free. Obviously Amazon is your best friend here. They have a ton of options and it's nice to be able to read the reviews so you can decide which band will be right for you. Here's one for $10 with a 4-star rating on over 17k reviews. Should be a safe bet.

That moment when you realize you’re a shopaholic...

  1. Picked up a Jemache armband on Amazon this week. It does what it is supposed to do. I like the back pouch for holding cards/money/etc. My only complaint is that getting a phone in and out is a bit cumbersome. But for $14.99, it’s not bad.

  2. Ordered more Baleaf shorts. For $15 on Amazon, they’re an absolute steal. Super comfortable and I haven’t had any issues with durability/fit.

  3. Champion C9 compression tech shirt. Target was having a 20% off sale on men’s clothes last week. Some folks on here recommended them, so I picked one up for $10. I wore it for a jog earlier this week in 90 percent humidity. (Thanks, Alberto.) Even though it did absorb sweat like advertised, it felt uncomfortable and super hot. Honestly, I’ll probably put it in a drawer until fall.
u/SaffronsCurse · 1 pointr/Fitness

I know you stated your experiences with armbands have not been great, but have you tried the Tune Belt one? I've been looking for a Tune Belt armband, because I liked the quality of it with my old Galaxy S5 over all other armbands I've tried. The size of the V10 is close enough to the Google Nexus 6. I'm going to order the Tune Belt AB91 on Amazon, as it should fit nicely. Coupled with Bluetooth headphones this would be perfect, IMO.

u/not_margaret · 2 pointsr/running

I run with a Flipbelt around my waist, so I'm not sure if that'll work for you, but I find the design of it prevents bouncing and it generally stays in place around my hips without feeling tight at all. I use it to carry my phone, keys and sometimes fuel like gels/gummies/etc.

Additionally, I also carry and handheld Nathan water bottle that has a pouch that could fit a phone. This one is similar. Since I usually have my phone in my Flitbelt, I typically use the pouch for fuel, or cash/credit card/bus pass just in case.

The Oiselle Distance Shorts have a lot of pockets that could likely fit your phone, keys, snacks, and I have found that it'll even fit a small (8oz) water bottle.

You could also get an armband for your phone to free your hands for water.

I've also found that a 20oz or smaller water bottle will stay in place when tucked into the back of a racer-back (T-style) sports bra.

By dimmer I meant these - they are a Hue product that talk to the bridge, they are battery operated (I've had mine 18 months without having to change any batteries, but not sure how long they last). I don't think hard wired dimmer switches would work. I leave the normal light switches on permanently and ignore them (though they do work as light switches, if you turn them off and on the lights will come on). They sometimes come in starter packs or bundled with bulbs, they are well worth it though - better than controlling on your phone and give you more versatility than just relying on the wall switches. There are more options for how to program them with some third party apps than the Philips app gives you.

It's not a cheap investment but I have been happy with mine, I've not had a single problem in the 18 months I've had them and they work regardless of internet connection and wifi (though I can't control them via my phone if the wifi is down of course). I have them in my living room, bedroom and bathroom (kitchen and hallway were too expensive as they have half a dozen lights in each and I don't think I need dimmable lighting in them anyway).

They aren't something you need, but they are nice to have and I think they make my morning and bedtime routine easier.

I had my Nest thermostat installed by someone, I don't know the first thing about how to do it. It might be simpler if you already have a thermostat and know how these things work but it was well outside my area of expertise. I paid £80 for the installation to some local plumbing company, I think the Nest itself was £130 on prime day last summer, plus £15 or so for the stand. It wasn't significantly different to what I'd been told to expect to pay to get a normal thermostat fitted. I've also had no problems with the nest.

u/OhMrAnger · 2 pointsr/C25K
  1. I use Endomondo, but it's the same idea as Nike+. Either way, it's not necessary, but it's fun to look at your pace and other stats after. For the actual timing, I use C25K Free.

  2. An armband like this for you phone is a lifesaver

  3. I have the same issue with ear buds i picked up these at Target. They are pretty cheap, and they have 3 sizes of rubber caps that you can choose to fit your ear.

  4. I've been doing sidewalk/street in my neighborhood with no problems. I think convenient is key, so you don't have another reason to quit.

  5. Water before and after is plenty, a half hour isn't long enough that you need to bring anything.

  6. I don't know what the recommendations are, but I wake up, eat a piece of fruit while I'm getting ready, do my workout, then have breakfast after.

  7. Running shoes are best, but you can get through the first week with your shoes, unless they are beat to hell maybe.
u/whats-upd0g · 1 pointr/running
  1. I find an armband like this one non intrusive and comfortable. Initially, I used to hold my phone in my palm while running (my phone is pretty small).
  2. I use this app for tracking. The free version gives distance, time, calories burnt and time splits. Obviously having an activity tracker like fitbit gives a lot more info like your heart rate over time but imo a tracker is not a necessity.
  3. Running on grass is generally more energy consuming than on a concrete pavement, but I would like someone else's opinion here

Happy Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

this would be awesome, as I just started the Couch to 5k thing.

Thanks for the contest.

I buy character sweatpants from Hot Topic and Boxlunch. They usually have pretty good sales. I also love that most of them have pockets. I do agree getting bluetooth headphones is a good idea or also getting her phone armband sleevelike this one on amazon

u/forestfriend · 4 pointsr/running

I've been using this and I'm happy with it. I have a candyshell case and it fits perfectly without having to remove it.

My girlfriend uses the TuneBelt, which is also a great solution. I just prefer the armband.

I have a Tune Belt that I really like. I have the one that fits the Note 3 without a big case:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00B7OJ69E?cache=d410467da48b17e9648df812780a18a7&pi=SX200_QL40&qid=1409186276&sr=8-1#ref=mp_s_a_1_1 ]

But they also make one big enough to fit an otterbox defender:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CJGQTGM?cache=d410467da48b17e9648df812780a18a7&pi=SY200_QL40&qid=1409186276&sr=8-2#ref=mp_s_a_1_2

I love mine and have never had any problems with it. The phone stays in without problems and the headphone jack faces out the top. There's even a cord wrap to keep the the wires from going all over.

  1. When I was little, I decided it was a good idea to do all of the following: Eat a bee (it was alive), see how far I could push a flower up my nose (not very far), push my little brother off the porch in his stroller (he was fine).

  2. I like surprises, but if I MUST pick this armband would be great.

  3. There's a penguin on top of the telly!

This one works if you have an Otterbox on your phone but you can find many on Amazon. I love mine

u/Nolegrl · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I second this recommendation. I had an arm band for a while, but it was hot and uncomfortable after a few minutes in the heat. I switched to a belt and never looked back. I have this exact one and it's great! The pouch stretches to fit the 6p.

Edit: if you really want an arm band, the one I have fits it width-wise but the top sticks out a bit (bought it a long time ago (hence the old phone listings), but it still fits the newer phones) : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056AN7SQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Mv8CxbTQVC7TW

That's the band I use. Very soft, long velcro strap, great at keeping the phone secure. Pretty much everything you look for.

I bought a arm-band to hold it. This one had really really solid reviews and I enjoy it. There are of course other options, and this one was on the cheaper scale.

Also great for running, which is my main use for it.

u/phiksation · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNexus

I saw a thread about this on XDA a while back. A lot of people recommended this which is the AB84. The AB85 has come out since and says it is made for the Galaxy Nexus. I don't have either but they both have good reviews. Hopefully you can get them in the UK

I have an iPhone and I put it in this Armband. It not only fits my iPhone, but behind it I store my ID and my debit card. I cold easily fit a key in there as well, but I usually just lock my keys into my car whenever I drive to a trail because I have the type of car that has keyless entry via a keypad on the side of the door.

u/DurangoOfTheRiver · 1 pointr/running

This super cheap model. It's just a simple band with a clear pocket that I can fit my phone into (HTC One V, so it's smaller than an iPhone).

The only negative aspect I've found with this is that the top is open (where you slip the phone in), so on rainy days I've been concerned for its safety.

u/cainunable · 1 pointr/C25K

I have http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJGQTGM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage for the original iPhone 6 in an Otterbox and it worked great for me. Something like that should work.

u/Jruff1984 · 5 pointsr/running

complaint I somewhat dread my weekday runs because i run 5k's and push myself for decent times. I enjoy my weekend runs much more because i run longer distances at a much easier pace.

complaint I have an armband like this and i hate it. Been looking at the gear fit 2, but i also like to listen to audio books and the gear fit 2 probably won't hold most books.

u/carissalynp · 2 pointsr/C25K

Following this, I was wondering the same. Some of these might be limited by your headphones though. I have wireless ones, but if yours are wired I'd make sure to use something where you won't get tangled in them. This is the one I've been thinking about getting:: http://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-Sport-Armband-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00G3GPHAS/ref=sr_1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1426613701&sr=1-3&keywords=galaxy+s4+armband I like that it seems easy to see and access the phone but not sure how important it is to be sweat resistant.

u/ZappAstrim · 1 pointr/Android

I have this for my HTC Sensation and it works very well:

Good quality - I can recommend the brand!

u/IguanaGrrl · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

You should get yourself this, for better running! :D

And I have this related item on my list, because I am getting into longer and longer runs and probably should have water on hand.

I use This TuneBelt because I am doing interval training now and like to be able to glance at and touch the screen if needed. Works great.

u/woowhee · 1 pointr/Nexus5

I just ordered this armband for my N5. I had an armband from this company for my iPhone 5 and it was great. Tight fit for the phone takes some getting used to, but I'd recommend it.

u/ColCrabs · 5 pointsr/philipshue

You can buy faceplates to go over your current switches, leave them on all the time, and use the Hue Dimmer Switch .

I have a lot of downlighters I hate, so I use standup lamps and a Dimmer Switch. Guests get super confused by it for some reason... the additional switch is like some sort of magical device.

I can literally hand them the Dimmer Switch and tell them to turn it off like any normal light. The next day I’ll find they’ve physically turned off all the lamps instead of using the switch. If I could, I’d just replace all the lights and slap the new faceplate over the existing one but it’d be like £240 for just the living room.

u/jjackrabbitt · 2 pointsr/running

Seeking a more durable running armband, or really any other phone, key and card carrying solution anyone has in mind.

My current armband is on its last legs, despite only using it (admittedly nearly daily) since March. The glue binding the velcro strap on is all coming loose after many sweaty Phoenix runs and I don't want to replace it with another defective product.

I have a Spibelt, which I've used intermittently but don't love. I think it's great for singular items like a phone, but not much else.

u/Ousantacruz · 1 pointr/AskPhotography

There are underwater camera bags. You'd need a smaller one since most are for DSLR cameras. I had one but only used it for Color Runs, never took it in the water. As for the phone, I got these bags for my wife and I :

SafeWays Waterproof Seal Case Compatible With All iPhone Models, Samsung, HTC, Sony, Nokia - All Phones/Tablets/iPods/Cameras Up To 7-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O2ASKJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9-tBxbXQFV9BB

They protect our phones really well (I've even taken mine in the pool, underwater) but image quality was a little hazy.

u/ayzgerta · 4 pointsr/running

I have tiny arms and have had luck with this armband. It is velcro but has two different slots to thread the band through for different arm sizes and it fits me perfectly with no sliding!

u/plonk519 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I think most/all armbands that work with the iPhone 6+/6S+ should work with the Nexus 6P.

I've been using this one with good results, although I had to buy a second one because the velcro strip on the first one started to come off after several months of daily usage. It's pretty cheap, though, so it's not a big deal if I have to buy another one every few months.

u/sharon45623 · 2 pointsr/Affiliatemarketing

If we talk about the handsome commission, then you ought to go for Cryptocurrency because this is hot nowadays. And if you want to market famous products, then you should go for obviously iPhone products like a screen protector and iPhone armband etc etc....

u/james85249 · 1 pointr/iPhoneX

CarPlay and etc etc are useful too, but I'll suggest you must have iPhone X armband because this'll help you during gym and walking outside... You can have it [here](https://www.amazon.com/iPhone-Armband-10-BFSPORT-Resistant/dp/B078JGCVC7/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1524643033&sr=8-8&keywords=BFSPORT)

u/rbf2000 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyNexus

I use the Tune Belt armband, which works great even with the extended battery.

For my headphones, I use Sennheiser PX 100-II. They aren't exactly the most lightweight of options, but the sound quality is excellent and I have no issues with them coming off of my head during runs.

u/tsheez · 2 pointsr/gaming

Or, you could turn something like this:

into a bracelet. People would probably make fun of you though.

u/OneFishTwoFish · 1 pointr/running

I have this one from Tune Belt for my S3 in a Otterbox Defender.

Works great. A little bulky, but it's holding a big phone in a huge case. They don't mention the S3/Otterbox in the description yet, but I wrote to Tune Belt directly for confirmation.

u/StorminXX · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I got this one from Amazon. I have taken it snorkeling, on the Hobie Cat, and used it in and around the shower without issue. I feel very safe using it, and it does not ruin the images in any way (just don't expect to use the flash).

u/silenced_no_more · 6 pointsr/running

I run in the rain, unless it’s heavy downpour that would create dangerous conditions or poor visibility. Caution and keeping my eyes on what’s in front of me is how I prevent slipping. I generally slow down a tad bit too. Having good shoes with tread that’s not worn too thin is also helpful.

Ziplock bags, the water proof phone cases they sell for vacations on amazon, or the arm bands that the phone goes inside are good waterproof options

One of my favorite qualities is my hair. However, I loved it even more when I started using this. It's really lightweight, and I just spray it on after I get out of the shower. It's heat activated, so it almost encourages me to blow dry my hair instead of just leaving it to air dry when I'm lazy.

My sister introduced this sunscreen to me. It doesn't smell like sunscreen and it blew my mind how it felt like nothing was on. I'm really bad at remembering to put sunscreen on, so this is super important now that I've started running. Can't get sun damage already!

This sounds really weird, but I might be a little addicted to teeth whitening. I almost do it whenever I get bored, so I'm almost Ross from "Friends" level. Seriously. I'm scared they are gonna be glow-in-the-dark soon.

PS you sound beautiful already so ROCK. IT.

Most people, myself included, use an armband like this. They key for me is to make sure I don't over-tighten it, otherwise it gets uncomfortable fast. But also make sure it's not so loose that it's sliding around.

u/Steev182 · 2 pointsr/DIY

The easiest solution would be bypassing the physical switch so the circuit is always on, put a blanking plate over the hole, then get a hue switch and stick it on the blanking plate. That way when you press off with the hue switch, the lights will turn off, but you'll be able to still use your automation and app to turn them back on.

EDIT: One of these hue switches: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Wireless-Lighting-Accessory-HomeKit/dp/B0748KLR39/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1521480617&sr=8-3&keywords=hue+switch&dpID=31lLZGCgetL&preST=_SX342_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

> If someone accidentally turns off the light switch you lose the ability to control your lights. You have to use an app or voice control to turn on the lights. If you lose networking then you can't control your lights.

As I mentioned elsewhere I plan to either smartify old switches with device like this, or replace them with a smart switch like this, both of these devices power the bulbs constantly and send a 100% or 0% command to them when the switch is flipped (or dimmed with the second link). For other lights I plan to remove the switch entirely and bypass it so the bulb is powered 100% of the time, then I plan to use either just voice, or a Philips-style switch, or motion sensor.

>You've not done this before, have you? The more technologies you have integrated together the more moving parts you will have to keep up with. Stuff will go down. Stuff needs to be upgraded. Other stuff will need to be prevented from upgrading to avoid their turning on the API your integrations depend upon. You need to plan on spending at least a few hours a month maintaining this thing.

No I haven't done the smart devices stuff before, as shown by the thread flair. I don't mind spending that much time. Also why do you escape your quotes?
