Start slowly. There is not one way to use phone. Find what apps work fo you personally. And treat it as an experiment.

How to hold phone.

Phones are big now. Depending on hand size it is very uncomfortable to hold it with one hand for some people. There are two option to use both hand or to use something like Popsoccet

Messages

Dont use sms. Use something more modern ask your kids that they are using and use it too.

Browser.

When you need quick look something in internet search it on your phone instead of going to pc. It probably will be way slower at first because you don't learn to type on screen yet.

Maps

Instead of relying on others try search places for yourself.

Camera.

Often it is easier to send picture to your wife instead of describing something.

Youtube

Always have instructions how to do something on your hand is very valuable

Bank software

Some banks have very nice apps. Some have very bad. Depends on your bank. Just try it.

Google assistant

I use it to start timers and to ask very simple questions.

TODO software yes

List of stuff to do. Very handy. Also can be used for reminders. I personally like todoist.

Calender and reminders

Self explanatory.
Note: With google calendar you can have multiple calendars and you even can have shared calendar with you wife.

Podcasts \ audiobooks

We often have times then our hands are busy but our mind is not. Walking somewhere. Washing dishes etc. So instead of just doing something boring you can listen to something that interesting to you. It is almost guaranteed that there is podcasts about whatever topic you interested in however niche it is.

I use voice for audiobooks but it is not for everyone. For podcasts you should check few different podcast apps and use one that you liked. Start with pocket cast \podcast addict \ Google podcasts

Fitness

I think it useful to do at least 4k steps. So you probably should try to use google fit.

Backup

Backup your phone. Modern phones break very easily. All your information will be lost. Including photos.

News

Best solution to read news are rss readers. I prefer Feedly

Uber

Uber and Lyft. It is mind boggling how much this apps are better than traditional taxis.

Other

It is probably good idea to have some cloud storage. To have files that can be easily accessible from anywhere. Maybe google drive but not sure.
Rearrange apps on your desktop so they made sense. Make folders. So you will start to train muscle memory.
There are bunch of different apps for different tasks. Sometimes you can find an app that will your life a little bit easier.

I'm sorry if any of these ideas are stupid or inappropriate . I'm just gonna give you a bunch lol.

  • Ds
You can get them pretty cheap, and it'd let him play video games in bed. And he can play some relaxing ones like harvest moon, pokemon, or animal crossing.
Idk if he has the energy to do that though. Or if he likes video games. But emulated games on my phone have been a lifesaver for bordem and stuff.

  • Heavy Blanket
Most people with chronic fatigue have trouble with sleep and some with anxiety.
I got my mom this for Christmas (she has chronic fatigue) She only was able to get 4 hours of sleep or something before (during the night-time) and would never feel rested. Now she sleeps alot better.

    -Plants
Plants have shown to improve mood and stuff, so you could get him a low maintenance plant like a succulent. Idk if have the energy for it though...

    -Instant pot
Can help him cook by himself? maybe? Again, idk what his energy level is... So idk if it'll be helpful.

    -Vegtable chopper and storage thingy
if he can cook by himself, he won't have to tire himself out using a knife, and can store the veggies he easily preps for his meals.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HC7BNJA

    -Googleplay/ Apple Store gift card
So he can purchase games, apps, and stuff.

    -Lying down laptop stand?
    https://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/lying-down-laptop-stand/

-Gooseneck phone holder, so he doesn't have to hold his phone https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1JXNTT

  • Saw this: https://www.amazon.com/Tens-Handheld-Electronic-Pulse-Massager/dp/B007TOJ948/ on a gift list... Its supposed to help with chronic fatigue and chronic pain. Idk about the science behind it though... so idk

-These cool prism glasses that will let him read laying down and stuff? Idk how to explain it https://www.amazon.com/Skywill-Far-East-Industries-Spectacles/dp/B0006ZZCJI

    -Mop slippers??

    -Cool night light projector
I see some ones that project ocean waves, or stars.

That's all I can think of right now... I'll edit if I can think of anything else.
u/drunkenwhat · 1 pointr/DBS_CardGame

It's awesome that you're focused on getting word out about the game! Building local communities is super important, we've been trying to come up with a game plan to tackle that as well.

If you're looking for a table option something like the following should be affordable and adjustable (however it probably won't work if your store uses resin folding tables as they might be too thick):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S9JXQP2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PY2PDbJDVX60Q

Depending on where the play area is you might be able to adjust it to get a top-down view as well for better clarity.

I can look into other options once I get home. I'm currently stuck on mobile.

Hope this helps!

u/formerfatboys · 1 pointr/news

The inherent problem with ecommerce is that you can't see an item.

You can in a store. That's why Best But has become a showroom.

You can't buy clothes, shoes, phone case etc without seeing them in person and knowing how they fit. Verizon will let you try on a phone case. It should be no different with Amazon otherwise...there's no reason to shop there.

Further, I'm not sure Amazon really cares. I spend thousands (maybe over $10k) on Amazon a year. I have prime. Use Prime Now and will use grocery too.

Further, eBay is getting into the free return game because the know it makes people comfortable. I'm comfortable that if I buy something random like this that I can return it for free to a Kohl's, Amazon Locker, or via UPS: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MBPWMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JI0bBb8706X73

If I can't do that, goodbye small sellers. No way I'm buying your random ass product without seeing it beforehand.

Zappos offered free VIP shipping both ways for life in 2003. There's a reason I've never bought shoes from anyone but Zappos since 2003.

The Amazon experience is perfect. They could charge me up to $200 for Prime for this continued ability to do this and I would happily pay. This is how shopping online should work and it's why Amazon destroyed everyone.

u/banovik · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I got the [PECHAM Stand] (https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Adjustable-Paperwhite-Smartphones-Accessories/dp/B072JCY5XY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1520276491&sr=8-3&keywords=pecham+stand) from Amazon here in the US. I looked for it on amazon.co.uk, but I couldn't find it. Maybe it will still ship to you without a crazy fee? Either way, this stand is very sturdy, and the feet are made of tacky rubber, so it will take a lot of bouncing around without moving or tipping. This is literally the best stand I have ever seen for a Switch, phone, tablet, or whatever. Good luck!

u/TangoHotel04 · 1 pointr/iphone

Not a case, but it certainly helps holding the iPhone 6. I bought one a few months ago and use it all the time. Plus it doesn't take up a lot of space and is reusable. Definitely a good add-on.

This is honestly common enough in some way shape or form. I work for an airline and travel for free, oftentimes with coworkers because they have the same flexible schedule and are able to travel for free as well, so we get along good.

About 5 of us got stuck in PHL airport because our inbound flight was delayed on our way to Cancun, so we had to wait about 12 hours there for the morning flight.
Not a big deal, we do this often. After many failed attempts to sleep (awful elevator music set on full blast and bright fluorescent lights) we fail at finding food/anything interesting to do in the empty airport

We end up dancing in our socks, eating atrocious amounts of fruit snacks that I packed, and just generally killing time. I decide to go freshen up in a bathroom somewhere around 3;30 am.

My friend found my piggy phone stand and stuck it on his forehead anticipating I would be back in a few minutes and he thought it would be funny in his sleep deprived state.

I was gone for almost half an hour, doing a baby-wipe shower, fixing my hair, etc. Friend was too committed to the joke at that point to take it off.

Finally I come back and see the pig. It's kinda funny for about two seconds until I grab it off of his forehead...

Then I see the darkest fucking purple hickey you ever saw, the size of a quarter in the middle of his forehead. He had to go on vacation looking like that. It was infinitely more funny than he originally intended and we mocked him the whole trip about his pig hickey.
He definitely didn't have an easy time talking to girls on that vacation.

u/boardmonkey · 4 pointsr/androidafterlife

I have this in my car and I love it. I can clip it anywhere, and move the neck to the perfect position for my phone. I am sure that this would be perfect for what you are trying to do. You can clip it to your desk, and put it exactly where you want it.

u/Jonny727272 · 2 pointsr/sffpc

Ahh, I gotcha. I have the corsair void pros, they are wireless which is helpful, but the earcups swivel so it's a real weak point.

For my display, I just have like a phone/tablet kickstand thing. It's nothing fancy or expensive but it'll do the job for short spurts. The downside is that I have to look down to use it and it realllly hurts my neck after 45 minutes or so. I will usually find a box or something to prop it up, which is why I'm interes in a stand like yours. I've considered just buying a stand and jerry rigging some way of mounting the two together, but that'll cost quite a bit. Alternatively, I could pick up a ounting arm like this one which is $24 with Amazon prime, but then I'm depedant on clamping it to a table.

I appreciate the thanks, but I got the idea from guys over at the SFF forums. So many people over there that are smarter than me.

u/gjacques5239 · 12 pointsr/RocketLeague

I travel a lot for work, and my switch is the best travel companion. If it had Netflix it would be perfect.

Pro tip, get yourself one of these for the plane. Holds the screen so you can play with the cons: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MBPWMV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_AinWBbF6B99GA

u/Sw3Et · -1 pointsr/PS4

Buy yourself one of these and make the companion app very useful and easy to use.

Alternatively you could just buy it and use it to watch TV shows etc as you're gaming. Best $10 I've ever spent

u/TheTsel · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This crazy awesome Star Wars shirt is $15.48.

I've also been eyeing this phone/tablet stand for my desk which is $9.99. Either or would be really cool.

Happy Halloween and thanks for the contest! :D

u/weareallusers · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I just bought the tyrone one and I'm sending it back. It will only work if you take the joycons off. So I don't see how it could possibly work for a switch lite. You need something that will grab it from top to bottom and this one is too big for that.
I just bought this one to try out, don't have it yet. It should grab it top to bottom and it has a longer reach
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K724C38/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I searched for a while to find one that was long and the right clamping diameter. Most are for phones and too small or tablets and too big. Hopefully this one fits the bill. Just wish it wasn't blue and white.

u/shadowdude777 · 1 pointr/Android

I dunno, my phone is usually in my pocket so I much prefer the rear placement. The only time I could see someone using it on their desk is if they're at work (I personally never need my phone at work; I use Google Voice so my texts come in via Hangouts). And if you need it at work, you should just order yourself one of these stands. It'll look better and be easier to glance at your phone if you have an Active Display kinda notification system, too.

u/AvinchMC · 10 pointsr/battlestations

Not OP, but I'm pretty sure it's this

u/RearNakedProbe · 3 pointsr/reddeadredemption

Just look up "phone/tablet stand" and sort price "low to high". I think I was looking for items under a dollar on Amazon (because I had a few bucks left on a gift card) and found it. I also have a tablet case that let's you prop the tablet up at an angle, but it was more expensive.

Edit: there's also this ring stand, which is pretty cool, and it attaches to your phone - https://www.amazon.com/Cellstand-Kickstand-Rotation-Samsung-Smartphones/dp/B07GLS88JW/ref=mp_s_a_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1540448821&sr=8-17&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=phone+stand

Edit 2: here's a stand like mine, but it's $3.07 (free shipping, though) - https://www.amazon.com/E3tronics-Smart-Phone-Tablet-Stand/dp/B00Y4ZVMKY/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1540449064&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=phone+stand&dpPl=1&dpID=31az7u7EJuL&ref=plSrch

You could get something like one of these Mobile Phone Chest Mount Harnesses that could hold the phone while you use left hand to click stuff

https://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Harness-Holder-action-Samsung/dp/B0199VMOEK The phone holder folds out flat in the third phone. You'd need one thats big enough to hold a phone in portrait mode though

Use this for raids/gyms and a Go plus for general stuff.

u/BrianGlory · 2 pointsr/vainglorygame

I use this one by Anker. Was recommended by many a fellow redditors on this subreddit. I think it's pretty solid, doesn't slide around, and the price is right.

u/Deepcrater · 2 pointsr/gadgets

There's a few all over "ring kickstand" they make some super blinged out ones.

u/bms42 · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

yeah I just stumbled on this which is similar to what I want, but it's much bulkier than a switch-dedicated sleeve that I can mod to attach the gear tie.

I think I should take this opportunity to go do some 3d printing, and just create a snap-on frame for the switch with little loops in the upper corners. Wonder if I could sell that...

u/teslastrong · 1 pointr/HelpMeFind

There's the Maxxable which has 2 finger loops. Or the iRing if you want 1 finger loop. There is also the Bunker Ring which is slightly less expensive than the iRing. If you are willing to purchase from Korea or Hong Kong there are really cheap versions on ebay like this one .

u/BrianPurkiss · 1 pointr/CompetitionShooting

You might have trouble angling it right, but this might work: https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Mount-Smartphone-Operable-Device/dp/B00J6KO9O8

Or if you wear a hat, maybe this: https://www.amazon.com/Streamaroo-Universal-Hands-free-Smartphone-Solution/dp/B00K1LFME2

Never used either, so no clue how good they are.

u/Cyko28 · -4 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I’m just kidding because of course it’s important that the switch not be damaged by the product. I don’t have a gooseneck, I have a more traditional arm that I like very much. It probably reaches farther than a gooseneck.

Yes. I had a simple side table that we already had. I also got a gooseneck phone holder so I could watch videos handsfree and without craning my neck. It was this thing. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1JXNTT

u/oh_no_a_hobo · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

I've got one of these for my cellphone Netflix binges. My cable company also offers live tv streaming over smart devices, so I literally don't ever need a tv.

u/charliebuy · 6 pointsr/ipad

I have the Surface, too and I miss the kickstand a lot. I have a 12.9" IPP so I just bought a large multi-angle holder. The larger one works nicely in bed for me.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014GCTGFM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But, since you have a smaller 10.5" you can probably get away with the smaller version:

For a while I used Velcro, a board with a USB hub stuck to it and a bunch of recoiling USB cables but wasn't keen on the way the Velcro stuck to the phones. After a while some of the strips came unstuck leaving liquidy glue.

Now I use these stands. I haven't but I guess you could stick the stands together somehow, on a strip of wood or just give them their own shelf.

Please report back with how you get on.

Just this. Not a lot of room on my desk at work, this was on a killer sale and I really just wanted to be able to prop it up and read.

I currently write about 2000 words a day, when I'm in writing mode (I take time off to promote, though I tend to miss writing a lot during those times.) I used to write 500 words a day, then worked up to 1000, and then to 2000.

Secret is for me, pleasant environment, no distractions. I do not write at my desk. In good weather I go out on my porch and write. I do not write on a desktop or a laptop, I write on my phone or my kindle (generally the phone, but if the phone is not charged, my kindle has bluetooth and will run JotterPad). I do that so that I am not tempted to go on the Internet. (I hate browsing on a small screen, much prefer a full desktop with a fast desktop computer.

I write in two 1000 word segments, getting up between segments to stretch. It takes anywhere from an hour to two hours to write 1000 words, depending on whether it's an action scene (the fastest) or a sex scene (the slowest). Narrative goes fast, like action scenes.

When you sit for that long, you have to watch your posture. I have a gooseneck cell phone holder that holds the phone/kindle well up in the air, so I am able to sit up straight and not strain my eyes downward to see the screen.

I use Jotterpad to compose the text, which works with Dropbox to seamlessly transfer my files to my desktop computer, where i edit it with a full featured word processor. I edit each 2000 word segment each day so that when I finish I don't have a huge mass of words to deal with. Makes editing a lot easier.

Also, do stretching exercises for your back and your neck and shoulders if you start to experience pain. I got the goosneck phone holder after I developed a painful condition called "text neck" from staring down at my screen on a simple cell phone stand -- felt like a red-hot wire of pain running from my neck to my shoulder. Have not had it since. I started doing the back exercises after I had back spasms from sitting for so long. Have not had them since. The back spasms were particularly bad ... took me a week or two to get over it.

Watch your health out there, peeps. Don't learn the hard way, like I did.
