This certainly isn't the cheapest 4-slot charger on the market, but there's a great deal coming up on the XTAR DRAGON VP4 Plus on Andrew-Amanda.com. It will be $49 on Friday. I have the XTAR VC4, and it's a solid charger, but the DRAGON VP4 has loads more features. I'm not entirely sure what their shipping is like, as I've never ordered from them, but they do say they'll ship it within a day.

If you aren't willing to go that high on price, you can get the VC4 from Amazon for $24. It's the only big charger I own, and it's really great. The price is really good, too, considering most 2-slot chargers can be anywhere from $14 (for the ones with not many features) up to $32 (for the ones with lots of features).

Both of those chargers are USB, so I recommend getting a good 10W wall charger for them like this one, if you don't have one already.

Hope that helps!

All the cables I previously mentioned as well as the following chargers (except the Anker 26800 battery) are USB-IF certified.
This charger from Monoprice has 5 ports - 1 Type C, 3 Type A. The 3 Type A ports have a total maximum output of 5V 2.4A, or 12W. Each individual Type A port is also capable of that 12W, given you have nothing plugged into the rest of them. The Type C port is capable of 5, 9, 12, 15, 20V charging, all at 3A.

This charger from Monoprice has 2 ports - 1 Type C, 1 Type A. The Type A has an output of 5V 2.4A, or 12W. The Type C is capable of 5V and 9V at 3A, or 15V charging at 2.6A. I do not think it is capable of 12V charging, 12V is just not listed on the MP website nor on the charger itself.

This (last) charger from Monoprice is a car charger and has 2 ports - 1 Type C, 1 Type A. The Type A has an output of 5V 1A, or 5W. The Type C is capable of 5V and 9V charging at 3A, or 12V charging at 2.25A.

This battery from Anker has 1 Type C and 1 Type A. The Type C acts as both an input and output for the battery. The Type C, as an input, is capable of 5V 3A (15W), 9V 3A (27W), 15V 2A (30W), and 20V 1.5A (30W). As an output, it is capable of 5V 3A (15W), 9V 2.67A (24W), and 15V 1.6A (24W). The Type A is 5V 2A, or 10W. It comes with a 30W wall charger as well as a C-C (Type C to Type C) cable as well as a Type A to Micro B cable. The output capabilities of the charger are not listed, so I will assume they are the same as the input of the battery's Type C port. The C-C cable is definitely only 3A capable, as the battery cannot output anything higher than that, and most likely only USB 2.0 capable.

This battery from Anker is a bit special. It is not expressly USB-IF certified but may fall under the clause that if two products (from the same manufacturer) are near identical then only one needs to be certified. I do not think it does, as it features an extra Type A port and has over 30% more capacity than the other one, but I'm going to list it here anyway. This one has 1 Type C, again as an input and output, and 2 Type A ports. The Type A's are each 5V 3A (15W). The Type C port is 5V 3A, 9V 3A, 15V 2A, and 20V 1.25A capable as an output. As an input it's the same across the board, except it can charge at 1.5A at 20V. Comes with the same cables and charger as the other Anker battery.

This Nekteck charger has a captive 6ft Type C cable, and is capable of 5V 3A, 9V 3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.25A charging.

This Nekteck charger has just 1 Type C port, and is capable of 5V 3A, 9V 3A, 12V 3A, 15V 3A, 20V 3.25A charging. To get that 20V 3.25A charging you MUST use a 5A capable cable, a 3A capable cable will clip it to 20V 3A. This charger comes with a 6ft C-C cable that is capable of 5A charging, but is probably USB 2.0.

This Nekteck car charger is the same as the Monoprice one I listed above, except this only outputs 5V 3A and 9V 3A, no 12V charging on this one. The Type A port is the same as the MP.

Hello all,

I recently bought a new Razer Blade Stealth 13 with the MX150 graphics/non-touch display. It seems to work great. I do have a question regarding about chargers. It charges and works great with the supplied Razer charger. I recently forgot that at my girlfriends place (lives in a different town a ways away) and rather than waiting for this weekend for her to visit, I used this as an excuse to by another USB C charger (wanted to have another anyways so I can leave one at home, other in bag). The charger I bought is below. It's a 61w USB C power delivery charger. This does not charge my stealth, however.

So after looking into it and contacting tech support, it appears that the Blade Stealth 13 requires a minimal 65w USB PD charger? Is this correct? I was under assumption that the blade stealth just supports USB Power Delivery. So any charger would work, lower wattage chargers would just charge it slower. Is this not the case?

Can anyone help me out and confirm that that the Blade Stealth requires a minimal of 65w USB Power Delivery charger to charge and it won't charge with anything less? Tech support didn't seem to "sure" to answer and just want to make sure before I return this stuff and look for a replacement.

Thanks for any and all help! Appreciate it!

Charger I bought: USB Wall Charger, RAVPower 61W Type C PD 3.0 Power Adapter, Dual Port USB C Wall Charger, Compatible with iPhone 11/11 Pro / 11 Pro Max, MacBook Pro Air, Dell XPS, iPad Pro 2018 and More - Black https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PLR7T1M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I recently built a four-board Orange PI DIY Skyminer in order to share a way to create a miner without the need to do any of the electrical wiring or flashing OpenWRT to a router. Hopefully this provides the community with some ideas on ways to easily setup a miner!

Here are the supplies used:

Orange PI Prime Boards

Using the Orange PI Prime boards makes sense for beginners since most of the community is using these boards and thus there are a lot of community members who can assist with issues when installing the software on Linux. Additionally, the Skycoin team will be releasing an image with the software preinstalled that can be easily flashed onto Orange PI boards.

Power Adapter (US Version)

Power Adapter (EU Version)

Micro SD Cards

You will want to use fast Class 10 Micro SD cards. 16 GB is what the official miners come with.

LAN Cables

You can use any short Cat 6 Ethernet cables. I used these from the parts list that has floated around and got some in both 15cm and 25cm lengths.

Case

Any Orange PI cases would work but these are the ones I used.

Switch

This cheap switch can handle up to 7 devices, not including the incoming connection from the router. If you might expand to 8 boards in your Skyminer, use a 8+1 port switch like the one referenced in other parts lists.

Power-Adapter-Compatible Surge Protector

This surge protector can support up to 6 bulky power adapters at a time plus additional standard plugs.

GL-MT300N-V2 Mini Router (300 Mbps) with OpenWRT Preinstalled

This mini-router is limited to 300 Mbps but comes with OpenWRT preinstalled and is likely sufficient for home users in many parts of the world where bandwidth is capped at low speeds. In the long term, this bandwidth would not be sufficient for running a Skyminer attached to an antenna, but it gives you time to flash OpenWRT on a gigabit router while still participating in the Testnet via an OpenWRT router.

Power Adapter for Router

The MT300N requires a 5V/1A power supply, so most USB adapters should work.

Summary

Another reason to consider getting individual cases and power adapters is that FPGA miners and official miners with more than 8 boards are being worked on, and when they are released, a lot of the first-gen equipment will not be as useful for running Skywire. When that happens, I will probably use this initial equipment for other purposes or give some boards to friends/family for them to use for various purposes, and everything is in place from the start to make that transition very easy.

One downside to using the Orange PI boards is that they are in high demand due to the Skywire rollout, so backorders are common and it might be a month or more before you receive the boards. Personally, I feel there are several benefits to using the Orange PIs which I mentioned above, but you would probably receive other boards such as Raspberry PIs quicker. Other users have put together guides for those boards as well, such as this thread on Skywug, so you do have several options.

I hope this simple DIY setup helps the community!

I've used 3rd party chargers with quick charge 3.0 in the past and for the most part they have been rather decent (I personally use Aukey). But I've noticed as of recently the best thing for my phone was to just buy another Google pixel charger (I got mine from Best Buy) and then if you want to have a longer cable than the 3 ft one included, just buy a USB C to USB C cable (Aukey, JSAUX, and WGGE have the best reviews on Amazon as far as braided nylon cables go).

Edit: I apologise... I didn't read that you can't get the original charger in your country. Anker is a well known third party charger company and they sell a USB C wall adapter that you can use if in fact you do want to go the USB C to USB C route. Here's a link to it:

I'm also working on a PCT gear list for next year, so take everything with a grain of salt but here are my thoughts:

  • The tent is the main thing keeping you over 10lbs. A Duplex is great, but if you only plan on hiking by yourself on the PCT I would suggest looking at r/ULgeartrade religiously for a used hexamid ~ 11oz (or hexamid+ if taller than ~5'8''). They usually go for 300-350$. That's what I did, no DCF groundsheet if you want to save $ and go with polycryo floor that you can also use to cowboy camp if you want. -20oz (cuz you probably will add ~1oz of stakes)
  • Cold soaking you could drop the can and stove, and switch to a ~2oz cold soak container -5.9oz
  • Going completely no cook, you could drop the spork and cold soak container -2.5oz
  • Do you plan on hanging your food? If so, you could replace the EE food bag with a Zpacks bear bag kit 50$ +2.5oz
  • If not, just use an LOKSAK Opsak at around 1.5oz 15$ +1oz
  • A 1oz FAK is pretty minimal. Usually it end up around 2-3oz for most people, but you go with what you're ok with.
  • The Fonken USB compatible wall charger (link) ~10$ is around 1.25oz if you're ok with managing only with one port -1.75oz
  • You could drop the sleep leggings, wind pants should be enough warmth and are ok to sleep in -5.6oz
  • You don't have any active insulation. Depends on your style of hiking, the Frogg Toggs might be enough over your hiking shirt for the most part if you're at camp early enough to wear your puffy when it gets colder. You decide on this one!
  • The puffy is heavier than it needs to be, but it's REALLY expensive to get a light one and if you like yours I think you should go with what you have.
  • The Pa'lante might get a bit uncomfortable with the bear can, but starting in the Sierra directly you could probably choose your start date to make sure there isn't too much snow (if we have a low snow year) so you don't have to take much snow gear.

That would save you ~31-35oz or 1.9-2.2lbs for a cost of around 350-400$, bringing down your BPW to ~8lbs.

I don't have that charger, but the first thing that I noticed was that the prongs were fixed. I carry my T480 in a rugged slipcase, and that would not fit well in the outer pocket. While there's nothing wrong with that charger and the few reviews it has are positive, you can get a better charger for a little bit more money.

I use RavPower's 45W USB C charger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9WMW6N/) with a Volta XL cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MCBH5GW/). The charger has a nice matte finish, not a glossy finish like it looks in the pictures. The Volta XL cables aren't perfect, but they're the best magnetic USB C PD cable's I've found.

If the size isn't a problem, RavPower also has a 61W charger that has a USB A port in addition to the USB C PD port: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PLR7T1M/. They also make a 45W cube charger if the you don't like the design of the above 45W unit (blocks outlets next to it): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TC53ZYD/

Note that you'll need a USB C PD cable since none of these chargers have a cable included. Anker's Powerline II USB C PD cable supports up to 60W PD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WNXY1R.

This is the one I bought works great. Nice and compact too. You'll need a USB-C Cable that's rated for 3A (Blitzwolf cables are great, it's the one I have) Everything fits into the Mario Odyssey Carry Case too it's great! :D https://ebgames.com.au/nintendo-switch-234092-Nintendo-Switch-Super-Mario-Odyssey-Deluxe-Case-Switch

hey /u/psychojunglecat3 , /u/vv0rm , and /u/kananjarrus

i got a response from anker...

First of all, let me thank you for your great support to Anker products. To your requirement, we would recommend below wall charger model for you, and you could use the blue QC port to recharge our PowerCore II 10000, and you will still have other 3 Power IQ port to charge your other devices:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charge-Charger-PowerPort-PowerIQ/dp/B01N2HIR9R/ref=sr_1_11?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1495091165&sr=1-11&keywords=Anker+wall+charger

If two output ports are enough for your needs, you may also consider below model:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charge-Charger-PowerPort-PowerIQ/dp/B01IUSYF8G/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1495091165&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=Anker+wall+charger&psc=1

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further concerns. Thank you!*

Just to piggyback on the cheaper ones. I got this one shipped from China for $8 or so

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K0E6R5S/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_H80kub0GY9CB8

It came in about a week and a half, and it is great. Charges pretty fast, even from my USB port on my computer. Build quality is nice, red and green led as well. Cheap is definitely OK in my books for these.

$10 and works perfectly. I only charge at night when I sleep so can't say how fast it charges but it works great and is super cheap.

So I recently bought a microcenter in house brand laptop, a winbook c14(fucking good deal on a $400 ultrabook imo):

https://www.microcenter.com/product/511678/winbook-cw140-14-2-in-1-laptop-computer---silver

Anyway the microcenter website says it has a a 45 watt battery, so I bought this 45 watt usb c charger on amazon (it only came with a normal barrel charger but has the capability to charge via usb c so I wanted to do that)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071Z959VX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My issue is, the charger states it will "intelligently identify your devices automatically and provide the fastest and most efficient output current (5V/3A, 9V/3A,15V/3A, 20V/2.25A)"

But reading the back of the laptop, it looks like its supposed to charge at 19v / 2.37a, which isnt an option listed on the charger. Will this charger fuck up the laptop battery if I try to use it?

u/meatwaddancin · 1 pointr/UsbCHardware

Hmmm, my understanding was that they can't do 5V 1A, but seem likes you know more about this than I do. I'm certainly not trying to argue at the technical level, and would love an explanation as to why it wouldn't charge (as well as the other 5W only devices I own).

All I can tell you is that the following chargers will not charge it:

Google 45W USB-C Power Adapter

Google Universal 22.5 W Dual Port USB Type-C Charger

Anker PowerPort Atom PD 1

Innergie 60C

RAVPower Wall Charger Adapter 45W Type-C

Inateck 60W Dual USB C Charger

Scosche PowerVolt Power Delivery

Anker PowerPort II (USB C didn't charge, USB A did charge)

I can list the various cables I tried too, but to keep it short I used 2.0, 3.1 Gen 2, and Thunderbolt 3 cables from Google, Anker, ReTrak, and j5create.

Alright gentlepersons. Good news and bad news. Bad news- The multimeter I bought was kind of a bust and wouldn't record as it was supposed to. The good news is that all of them charged at 18W, so it really just came down to weight (all weights are actuals from my scale)

  1. Mezone - 6.63 oz

  2. Tqka - 7.00 oz

  3. M1 - 7.24 oz

    Here are some additional observations...

M1 - The listed weight on Amazon wasn't even close to the actual weight. Also just felt really cheap.

Mezone - Although this was the lightest option, it wasn't the one I ended up keeping. I'm sure it would have been a good option and it has a lot of positive reviews on Amazon.

Tqka- This one felt like it was solid and well built. I kept it. It sounds petty, but the deciding factor for me was the cable that came with it. My phone uses USB-C and my headlamp uses Micro USB. The cable that came with the Tqka has BOTH in the same cable. In my mind, having only one cable saves me 0.5oz, so even though it's heavier I'm still saving weight overall. Full disclosure, I learned about this one from Jupiter's PCT gear list video (u/Ruuven) --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxsyGfjDEgI

Side note: I also bought this wall adapter and am really happy with it (1.37oz)

Any USB-C cable that is "USB-IF Certified"

EDIT: Wait, the Anker battery with the Nintendo Switch branding? It comes with a good 3ft USB-C cable in the box lol.

EDIT2: if you want a longer one, there's a ~$9 6ft Startech.com cable on Amazon, a $12 Anker one, or you could grab this Nekteck USB-IF Certified USB-PD 45W charger. Comes with a 6ft USB-IF certified cable as well. It will power a docked Switch as well as charge that Anker battery as fast as possible. I use it to charge mine :)

Just get an Anker charger off Amazon and never worry again.

Anker Quick Charge 3.0 43.5W 4-Port USB Wall Charger, PowerPort Speed 4 for Galaxy S7/S6/edge/edge+, Note 4/5, LG G4/G5, HTC One M8/M9/A9, Nexus 6, with PowerIQ for iPhone X / 8 / 7 , iPad, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N2HIR9R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_HYm5AbAE675V6

Most reliable brand of chargers I've ever used, quick charge works great for my brothers s7 and it charges IPhones and any other phones quicker than their regular chargers because it uses some smart iq chip to the determine the best voltage it can provide a phone without any damage.

No - this one. Looks like the white is on sale... I tried pulling up my order to see how much I originally paid but it's not coming up. I picked up the black one a while back - and the picture now looks glossy, at least on the sides. Mine is completely matte. It appears to be the same product, though. DO note that the 12V contract is 3A, so that'll max out at 36W - you'll want to get the 15V cable in that case. Check out the pictures for an idea of the size - I bought a handful of highly rated PD chargers and that's the one I carry around with me when I travel. Looks like Anker is also selling a similar one now, but it's 30W max.

Yep - Agree completely on the Surface Pen. I think hardware wise it's totally fine, it's just the SW integration is never pen first on Windows that I've found. If you find a good app, it's kind of a pain on moving the files around from a "workflow" perspective.

I'm not a huge fan of the apple "way" either - but the focus on user experience (and restraint) has me at least exploring. Not sure I'll be sticking with all the devices in the long run, but for now the iPad Pro has been surprisingly usable. I'm trying to challenge my limiting mindset preference for Windows as "I use it because it's what I've always used" - if my experiment actually reveals macOS is worse for my needs, I'll switch back (at least on desktop/"real" OS side).

Anyways, good luck!

Edit: Just for completeness - the cable I used looks like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Kissmart-Surface-Connector-Charging-Requires/dp/B07RWJCR3F
I want to say I got the J-go one, but my order isn't showing up... I must have placed it on an old work account :(

I remember reading some of these cables have a problem where they are powered up before connecting to the surface, so it can have a dangerous short - definitely read the reviews. The new ones seem a LOT cheaper - maybe they've fixed issues and gone more mass market...

u/anoff · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitchDeals

If you just need it for your Switch, it's good, but you're better off spending a little more for a higher wattage one if you want to charge phones/tablets/laptops with it. I went with this one, charges all my stuff super fast, even faster than the stock chargers that came with my phone, xps13 and switch. Paid ~$25 on sale

Ok but if those are the chargers I think they are, they're pretty great.

edit: nevermind, the ones I know are actual Amazon's Choice

u/CaptT60 · 6 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I have one as well. It is great, and keeps up with the Switch power when playing Zelda. Seems well built. Few things to keep in mind.

It is a brick. And being so once in a while TSA will want to check your bag and give it a once over,

In the same vein it is a little weighty. But to get that much power it kind of needs to be.

I use the aukey USB-C to USB-C PD cable with it.

Buy this one, which supports wireless fast charging, and is super convenient -- you'll never want to plug in a micro USB after this. You can also use the charger for it with a regular USB cable if needed and it will do fast charge with that too.

For my car I use this, which is also fast charge and is super-tiny, and it lets you charge a friend's phone too.

EDIT: Bonus items -- I travel a lot and for that I love using one similar to this little charger, which I always keep ready in my bag and can charge my whole family's devices with almost no space - even the AC prongs fold in.

And once you get really hooked on fast charging, you'll want a power bank (portable charger) that supports that too. I use this one which is pretty nice, but there are tons now in all shapes and sizes.

ZMi PowerPlug Turbo 45W USB-C PD Power Adapter
My personal favorite. Has everything you could want in a travel charger for the Switch except USB-IF certification (they forgoed certification in order to support Apple's non-standard power profiles).

Nekteck USB Type-C Wall Charger 45W PD
Less travel friendly with the built-in cable and the prongs don't fold, but they have USB-IF certification and offers the same great output.

Why do they always make them stick out. This is only 45w but much better design.

Are you using a Quickcharge charger? If yes, check the connections. Sometimes lint or debris can get in there and you won't get Turbo Charge. Also if possible try a different charger. If the charger or cord is starting to get old they might not work for turbo charging. My original charger had the cord split. Now I use these chargers from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019GQ6S2C
They work great for turbo charging and I can replace the cord if it frays or I need something with a different length.

You need a 30W USB-C charger to be able to charge at full speed. I recommend RavPower. I think they're currently making the best value high quality USB-C chargers.

u/Retro_Tom · 5 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Here's one I found that has a 5V/3A option. There's plenty of others too, but they do cost more than your standard 2.4A chargers. Reviews seem legit.

I personally use an anker portable PSU off amazon and it has worked like a charm. Pricey, but it can power a pi, touchscreen, and 4 USB controllers for 4-5 hours on a full charge.

Another Anker supporter here! This is the charger I use. It's a little bulky but it supports 18w power delivery charging and it also has and additional USB A port so you can charge another device. The prongs fold in to make it a bit easier to travel with too.

Here is a smaller one that just does not have the extra USB A port.

u/denomark · 1 pointr/LGG3

zerolemon or MPJ.

Or two stock batteries and an external charger. Swap as needed. I have the MPJ and the stock, and charge both in the external charger. Imo these 1000mah external chargers take longer to charge a battery than charging one in the phone w the screen off. Idk what the LG rate is but i imagine it's somewhere around 1.3 or 1.5ah.

The charger is the 'universal' Onite sold on amazon.

Onite Universal Battery Charger with USB Output Port for 3.8V High-voltage Battery of Samsung Galaxy S2 S3 S4 J5, Note 2 3, Edge, Mega, LG Optimus G G2 G3 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005REEWYY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_PeCHxb0PDS0N5

However, the charger they sent me was different than what the box and listing showed. It was the Onite for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100. Strangely enough, although it was only for that battery, the LG G3 battery is nearly the exact same size. The same length and not quite as wide by a mm or two. It fits in the charger perfectly, so I didn't return it. I can't charge another battery in it, but it's working well on the stock and MPJ.

u/havensk · 2 pointsr/oneplus

It needs to be a USB-C cable. Just make sure you check out the Benson Leung USB-C approved chart before you buy any new ones. A lot of USB-C cables out there might cause harm to your phone.

If it helps I picked up this cable and this charger and they work great together and charge pretty fast. Nowhere near as fast as DASH but that's fine.

u/BobbyAlphaTango · 3 pointsr/steelseries

I have the original Wireless H, and I ran into the same issue. I can confirm these work in the Wireless H http://m.ebay.com/itm/232171760156?_mwBanner=1

However, they do not charge in the charger, so you would need a generic charger (I use this one and it works well and is quite cheap https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005REEWYY/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Hope this helps!

u/NelsonMinar · 3 pointsr/GooglePixel

Be sure to buy an 18W USB-PD charger with a USB-C port. Fast chargers with USB-A only will not fast charge a Pixel 3.

I like Anker chargers, specifically this one for $23. You can save a few bucks if you get one with only the one PD charging port.

u/zachackack · 1 pointr/backpacking

I already have this power adapter which should work, right? Flip flops are a great idea, I'll have to grab a pair. And i will be flying only when required (when actually ends up being most of the time, like getting from Netherlands to Ireland, to scottland, to Iceland) thank you!

u/brp · 1 pointr/samsung

I have 2 Seneo's and they work great.

The silver one is on sale as well for $13.

If you want it to fast charge, you need a QC 3.0 power brick. The Samsung power brick is QC 2.0 and won't allow for fast wireless charge of this Seneo one.

I've used these QC 3.0 bricks. without issue in the past for both the phone wired and the Seneo wireless charger. However, now I just use the Seneo with a regular power brick and only slow wireless charge while sleeping and at my desk.

u/MrLethalWeapon · 1 pointr/lgv20

I've purchased extended batteries from Powerbear and iPossible and they've both worked well.
The extended size on these isn't obnoxious, and the longer run-time is a huge help.

I use YouTube all the time so when it eventually does run out I can put one on the charger while the other is powering the phone.

u/swyost · 5 pointsr/Surface

Unfortunately, your charger uses proprietary technology and isn't going to work with the SP7. Unlike phones, the SP7 absolutely relies upon the charger being PD compliant. It would also be a bit under powered as well. FWIW, I picked up a RAVPower 61 watt charger that works with both my Note 10 and SP7 (obviously not at the same time). Charging speeds are also surprisingly quick, in fact, somewhat better than expected for both devices. u/zb_xy · 2 pointsr/iphone

Absolutely. Anker make's a good one for $10. Your case needs to be less than 5mm thick and can't be metal. Also, no pop-socket or things like that. You can't use the normal Apple charging brick though, it needs to be one like this (offbrand, 3-pack) or this (Anker brand, single).

u/UltimaQ · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I heard on the interwebs that usb A to usb C seems to have to some cables dying in terms of switch usage. I personally went with this when deciding on a travel charger. It does a good job charging the switch when playing even intense games like BoTW, ARMs, Splat2n etc. and of course when sleeping (mind you, while sleeping it will charge much quicker).

u/Ramacher · 1 pointr/nexus5x

You could wait till you get their and buy an adapter, they're cheap and can be found very easily, even some corner stores sell them.

Or you can get a travel adapter like this one. I can't speak for that specific one, but it does have good reviews and I had a similar one just without the USB ports on it.

u/MuertoLamento · 2 pointsr/galaxys10

It's definitely not the max power. I don't know how much higher it goes but I found a 45 Watt fast charging brick on Amazon. It'll adjust the power current down to what the S10 is capable of. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9WMW6N/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_bRqLDb9KD05RA

u/GorramReaver · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Long answer: You need to match the input wattage of the powerbank to the output wattage of the charger. **Math trigger warning** Wattage is amps * volts, so for example if your powerbank input was 5v * 2amp = 10 watts, so you would make sure your charger output is >10 watts.

Short Answer: 18 Watts is generally overkill for most powerbanks and these are pretty light: https://www.amazon.com/FONKEN-Charger-Compatible-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B0728HB18G

1A or 1000mA generic usb charger works fine for my LG G3 while in use. 700mA works too, but while in use the LG G3 uses power faster than 700mA can charge it.

You'll need a micro USB cable too.

It does charge when plugged into my macbook or via a usb to usb-c cable to something like an older samsung phone charger.

u/khedoros · 1 pointr/NintendoDS

So, what I did was bring along an international USB adapter (like a phone charger thing). There's a charging cable for the 3DS that's just a regular USB cable. And there's a good likelihood that if you stay in a hotel, there'll be USB charging ports on some nightstand or something. Bringing the adapter (something like this ) was just a bit of a convenience.

USB's always 5V, the world over. The DSi/2DS/3DS charger is 4.6V, but 5V works just fine for charging. I bought a N3DS XL from GameStop, and a USB cable is actually what they provided to charge it with.

You could get a GG Thinlight to back up your XLite and use as your back pad. Here's a 33 g dual port charger. It looks like you may not have a scale? The BRS3000T weighs 1.0 oz. and the REI Minimalist mitts size large weigh 1.2 oz. on my scale. I think you may want to take some liner gloves or fleece mittens or gloves in addition. Should only weigh 1 to 2 oz.

u/Serafita · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Long as it's portable-mode only you have a number of options. It's only when it's docked that it becomes nintendo-only charger for the safety option.

Here's a list of USB-C chargers by /u/queuebitt. What I personally use when in portable is:

  • Ravpower's 60W 5-Port USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger
  • Google Pixel 2 18W Power Delivery Charger (this is a smaller one which fits in my switch case)

Note that both my options are a little more expensive than a normal nintendo charger because I got them for specific reasons. The Ravpower 5 port one charges other stuff at the same time, while the google pixel 2 one, as I'm in the UK and thus, have three prong chargers, can fold itself up small enough to not stick out.

You could just go for an Amazon charger like this one which is pretty cheap (portable only, remember), although I generally don't like chargers where you can't remove the cable. Maybe this one by Anker, 18w PowerPort which is USB-C and has power delivery. Not sure if it comes with a cable. I would probably have got the UK version of this, had the prongs been able to fold itself in. But alas. :D

You could use one of the wall usb plugs (such as the ones that frequently come free with tablets) and just plug in the charging cable that is with the headphone.

The 30W USB PD Charger will definitely charge Surface Go. In terms of the apple one, I think it should work, but I'm not 100% sure since it lacks the details (voltages, etc).

Note that the particular anker charger you linked does not have folding prongs. I recommend Ravpower 30W GaN charger (https://www.amazon.com/Charger-RAVPower-Charging-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B07T7M2799) - very compact, folding prongs, and cheaper.

It’s 75g, and I use it when I travel with my 13” macbook pro, nintendo switch, and/or surface go. It charges all of those without issue, as well as my iPhone, apple watch, etc.

You can tuck the first one in between pretty much anything else on a power strip. It is small, and it'll keep up with power draw unless you're playing heavy games all the time. Even at that, your system's battery can cover the power deficit for a looong time.

You might also want the second one for its flatness (great in your laptop's bag), and how it can tuck in to an outlet buried behind furniture. At 45 watts it should always be on top of your laptop's draw. (I have both for my L480)

There are definitely other USB-C to Lightning cables. $15 for Anker. Probably cheaper for other brands. And a $10 Apple tax?? Not that bad?? Why even pay any Apple tax at all? Consider buying an Anker brand fast charger, They're way cheaper and if you get an Anker cord it will last, my s9's lasted since my old 2016 phone and its still going strong. Personally i'd reccomend https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Anker-Delivery-PowerPort-Foldable/dp/B07GWQ2GJC/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=anker+18+watt&qid=1568860660&s=wireless&sr=1-2 but it's up to you.

I use one of the universal chargers that looks a lot like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Onite-Universal-Battery-Charger-High-voltage/dp/B005REEWYY

u/sbddude · 2 pointsr/samsung

The Samsung charger included with the phone supports QC quick charge, however it only outputs 15 W. There are third-party Qualcomm Certified chargers available that put out 18 or even 24W. These chargers are the fastest available. Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B019GQ6S2C/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

Zendura A3PD 10000 has a power delivery/quick charge compatible input/output so it can fully recharge in 3 hours and supports pass-through charging so the brick and your stuff can charge at the same time using one small outlet. 6.8oz/195g

Pair with the 1.28oz Fonken 18W wall charger and you have the lightest and fastest charging 10000 setup on the market that I know of

u/mysnna · 1 pointr/anker

You could get something like this: https://amzn.to/2WBpIxh
It has 2 ports and 1 is PD that outputs at 18W.
The link above is my affiliate link by the way.

Also note

  1. Mu One extremely small 45W charger with very nifty international charger heads.
  2. RAVpower 45w this is the exact same charger without the nifty heads, just a folding US plug.

These are, by far the smallest chargers.

Finally, the new RAVpower 61w is not as small as the Innergie it's still small, adds a USB A and costs a third of that.
u/SkawtNY · 1 pointr/chromeos

If you need to charge both the device and a phone, aND can get away with 18w PD, one of these will work:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GWQ2GJC/ref=emc_b_5_t

Or one of these, which is the smallest I've found, has folding prongs, and works quite well with my 10" chrome tablet and my pixel 3 phone:

Yes, the AC adapter does matter because it needs to produce enough voltage and amperage to enable fast charging.

Here is the adapter I bought.
24W Quick Charge 3.0, iClever BoostCube+ Qualcomm Certified QC 3.0 USB Wall Charger (Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible) with Foldable Plug for Galaxy S7/S6/Edge/Plus, Note 5/4, LG G5 V10, HTC 10 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019GQ6S2C/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lpFeAb1KCXMKF

I think the lightning cable is fine, but what I’m talking about is the part that plugs into the wall.

u/BobTheTaco21 · 7 pointsr/Ultralight

Right, so the max input for the Powercore II is 9V 2A which is 18 watts. You want a wall charger that gives out 18 watts.

For 1 USB port, I have this charger and it takes just over 4hrs to charge my Powercore II. It's 1.3oz and I bet there's probs some around the 1oz range.

For 2 USB ports, there was a good discussion this week on different options and if it was even worth it in the end at all

u/R1ppedWarrior · 1 pointr/lgv20

I use this and it works well.

u/0ZFive · 1 pointr/Earbuds

Have them. I use a C to C cable with this charger Amazon and they charge fine.

u/CausticSaint · 2 pointsr/ipad

I've got one of these - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H6BQNGF/ - on the way. 18W just like the stock one, but with foldable prongs. Anker has a similar one ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GWNYC4W/ ), but I passed on that one because it's got a blue LED in it. Nothing against LEDs, but I've got enough light sources from all my gear and don't need yet another one.

u/GiraffeGlove · 2 pointsr/cellphones

Buy new charging cables. Buy a 5 pack from amazon. It's usually the tiny springs on the end of the cable that get pressed down or bent and so the charger doesn't stay connected.

Click "View promotion details" just below the price.

There are many TV Mode-compatible ac adapters at this point. Lots of conversation about them, even in this sub. The iClever 45 watt, next day from Amazon. The Xaiomi 45 watt from China. The Switch-Con people are pushing the Elecject. All of them small, with retractable prongs, and under $30.

Cool, I ordered this one and it rapid charges.

[USB C PD Charger] iClever 45W USB Type C Power Delivery Wall Charger for MacBook 2015/2016, Nintendo Switch, iPhone X/8/8 Plus, HUAWEI Mate 10, Pixel C, MOTO Z, Samsung Notebook [Compatible with 30W] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07194RXTS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FbS.zb4A5DXZX

u/JimDantin3 · 0 pointsr/chromeos

What devices have you used it with? It can't be fully USB-IF certified because they hacked in QC2.0 and QC3.0.

I would look at this one instead -

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0719KV9PH/ref=psdc_2407761011_t1_B07KYLMQ2N

Note that it is USB-IF certified, which will ensure the best compatibility and protection for your devices. There are other similarly certified devices available.

The entire USB-C charger and cable marketplace is a real mess, with some highly questionable products out there. The only real certification os from USB-IF, which enforces full compliance with the USB-PD specifications.

I just ordered this one. I was actually considering the one you linked, but couldn't confirm if it was 24W per usb, or 12W per usb, so I went with the one usb option. I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives tomorrow.
