not prime, but already pretty cheap at around $10. toss it in your backpack and use it as a guide when directing friends to your location (blue lightsaber, stage right gobi). get a bunch for your friends and have battles after the sun sets. be wary though, security forced me to toss mine citing it as a weapon (friend in other line got through just fine).

I was zelda obsessed at five, I want to echo that my favorite thing was what someone suggested, sword shield and outfit.

Most zelda stuff is for a slightly older kid but if he doesn’t have it already there is a foam master sword that is fairly cheap and pretty cool you can probably find it at Amazon.

If not then just more foam swords even if they are not zelda related, I broke on at least once a week while hitting too many things with it so it was important to have more

Depends on your price range and what you're looking for. If you're going for game accuracy, there are a ton of replicas out there that barely resemble the real thing and unfortunately I've only found two makers that get it right - Heroic Replicas (for full metal replicas - example) or Fiberglass Blades (which makes them entirely out of resin or fiberglass - example). Both will cost you a pretty penny, however.

If you're looking for a cheaper plastic wallhanger, this one is the only one I could find that has accurate features, but it's been scaled down a bit in size.

There are also a couple of redesigned swords like the one that the other commenter linked, but at that point it's not really the Master Sword and is more of a reimagining of sorts. But yeah, there are a few options out there.

Really I picked up these and went to town with a dremel, removing all the plastic skin except some off the back. I fit the whole thing into some gloves I customized to fit the claws ripping through. They were a big hit, and some people have even tried to buy them from me!

Apparently these are the best you'll find. Under the Q&A section someone details the metals used. What sucks is that about 2 years ago these were on Amazon for less than $20. It might be a good thing if they started using quality metals. I really don't know for sure though.

It sounds like a really awesome idea and to me seems totally feasable. I just don't know what my time looks like at the moment because of building my boxes. I think it would be a really cool side project though.

What were you thinking for a price range on the commission?

My biggest concern would be being able to fit everything in there.

I'm thinking that a separate button for the LED (if the full internals can't be shifted or shrank) which would also have separate batteries. Probably AA's. Probably like a tactile switch similar to a DNA box.

And really, I'm thinking the same type switch for the fire button, if I wouldn't be able to utilize the stock button for some reason. Or maybe use the stock button but have it depress the tactile switch. IDK. Just putting thoughts down "on paper".

You can find cheap shirts online pretty much anywhere. The better the quality the higher the price. amazon sells one for 40 bucks - not gonna be as nice as OP's but it's chain mail.

This isn't your market and at that price point I don't know of any market which exists for that kind of product at that price. Anything like that will fail catastrophically as far as durability is concerned and won't pass as armor in most popular games.

Consider for a minute that aluminum chainmail which is probably about just as durable (AKA, expect about one year from such a set before it comes undone) costs a fraction of the price. You can probably get steel for a similar price to what you want if you look hard enough.

Unless you're selling at the <$50 range more or less for what amounts to a halloween costume or making an extremely detailed high-end piece for a specific cosplay, akin to professional work, you're not going to get even close to $250 or even half of that.

And sorry but I just don't think it'll turn out as well as you think it will. Spoons have a very obvious shape. Unless you're a professional at this kind of thing, people will know, and won't be interested.
