Pants stick out the most to me.

IMO black jeans are some of the most versatile pants you can get.

I'd get a pair of those. I personally love these, but if that's too skinny/too much, I've heard great things about Levi's 511.

Next, like a lot of other people have said, a minimal white sneaker is king. For your price point, look in to Van's Sk8 Hi for a really casual/skater look, Stan Smith's in White/Blue for a more simple look (reading back over this, I realized you were in Italy - Stan Smiths are so fucking popular it's ridiculous. As are the Adidas Gazelles. Not bad options if you want to fit in, but keep in mind you'll be wearing what everyone else is wearing). Honorable mentions are the Converse Chuck Taylor II Highs and Lows. These might be hard to find on amazon.it but make sure you're getting the Converse Chuck Taylor II - they updated the sole and it's one of the most comfortable sneakers you can get. Durable and iconic as well.

You said you're in Italy, so I reckon you're not -too- worried about heavy outerwear.

Honestly, I'd skimp on the watch if I were you - it's an accessory and IMO not nearly as important as the other staples. If you do get a watch, Timex watches are fairly popular among MFA users and pretty cheap on amazon.

Polo 3 isn't actually that large. Nor is 5. Orange is a hard color to pull off though, so I'd personally avoid wearing that.

Lots of Americans dislike polos but I spent this summer in Italy and polos were super popular so just keep doing that I guess.

I will say, all of your shirts are wrinkled. Like straight up all of them. After taking your clothes out of the dryer, hang them up. Maybe buy some hangers if you don't currently own any. Hanging them up cuts the wrinkles down so much.

If the product is available in Italy, these Gildan shirts are great quality for the money. They're not amazing but you get a lot of options. There are several options there for different packages, but I'd stick to toned down options. When most people start caring about how they dress, they don't really know how to incorporate/coordinate color properly. Low-saturation is easy to coordinate. Black/blue/greys/whites/earthtones. For example, there's a deal going on for people in the U.S. right now to mix and match tops. You can see it here. I think these outfits are done really well overall, but as you can see the colors are really muted.

A large part of looking good is in the hair - your hair in the last 2 pictures looks super good. If you need product to do that, I'd use part of the $500 to get that. Keep that shit up.

Also look into cologne - Amazon is a pretty decent place to get them. I personally love Bvlgari Man Extreme and I get it through Amazon. Consider stopping by a Sephora or something and testing out colognes to find one you like - you can typically find it on Amazon for about $60 for 3 Oz.

I'd also stay away from V-necks as much as possible. Might just be me, but I really hate them.

I'd also consider no-show socks. I realize you're in Milan, so if you want to go all in on the Milan look, I'd suggest the following:

Simple, well-fitting shirts.
Black skinny jeans, pinrolled.
White sneakers - Stan Smiths and Superstars are ubiquitous in Milan.
No-show socks.

Your one suit is great. Make sure you have a dress belt that matches the shoes you wear with your suit. A suit without a belt is hard to pull off.

When shopping on amazon - be sure to avoid shit like this. Cheap, chinese made, won't look anything like the product pictures. This sums it up pretty well. Buy stuff from brands you've heard of - you've heard of them for a reason. That being said, only buy shoes from shoe companies and clothes from clothes companies. Tommy Hillfiger and Calvin Klein and the like make decent clothes but terrible, terrible shoes.

I looked through jackets on amazon.it and this was the best I could come up with - not cheap by any means, but it'll be good quality and bombers are super ubiquitous, esp in Milan. Unfortunately, it's still about $90 but jackets get expensive quickly. It would be smart to get a simple sweatshirt or hoodie. This can be layered under the bomber for a cold night. I'd stray away from a zip up hoodie, as your bomber already has the edit zipper***.

I also just remembered that Cheap Monday is super popular in Europe - This is a great option. Low vans are also good shoes to consider.

That's uhhh... all that comes to mind. It's super disorganized and I threw a lot at ya so have fun with that. Super jealous that you get to go to school in Milan. Have tons of fun dude.

  • You don't need to prove anything. People get rejected all the time and it's not something to worry about. NO PRESSURE, seriously, there is no pressure.

  • Talk about what you're confident in and let them do a lot of the talking.

  • If you don't know something they're talking about the worst thing you can do is get nervous and pretend to know it. Just say you don't know. You can't get nervous if you're focusing on things you're confident about.

  • This takes a bit of work to get right but read them. How are they acting and responding to you? If they look annoyed or distracted they probably want you away. So leave, you only dig yourself a hole waiting for them to leave/you get rejected. Talk to people that look like they want to be talked to.

  • I don't know what type of experience you have with people in general but use general social skills. I'm 21 as well by the way, an avid gamer nerd, I program, I sit in a lab with smelly people all day, you name it.
I'm in the networking stages of getting into the tech industry and I use these same skills for business that I use for pleasure. They've gotten me into VIP areas with Blizzard names like J. Allen Brack and Dustin Browder (yes really) just as well as they've gotten me into girls pants. What I mean is I literally will talk about tech and games with girls in an enthusiastic and sociable manner. Girls like confidence and intelligence.

  • Now that's all about you. The final step is to be genuinely interested in them. You can't spend all this time concerned about yourself. I don't mean to pretend to be interested, I mean serious, genuine interest. Remember, picking up girls is as much your choice as theirs. Keep your standards up and know what you want, don't feel like the pressure is all on you. Lots of "first time" guys have this problem. Trust me, girls aren't automatically dynamos in bed either.

    --EDIT--

  • One last thing: show personal pride. The way you hold yourself, the way you dress, etc. isn't as shallow as some "idealists" would have you believe. It's also a display in personal pride and care for yourself. My general "do it all outfit" is some nice dark blue jeans, nice belt, button down shirt wit the sleeves rolled (99% of the time not tucked), a nice (non-digital) watch, non-colorful sunglasses (sunny day only) and if it's cold out I have a nice casual jacket (something like this).

Possibly Dumb Question: Does anyone know what kind of jacket this is or where I can find high quality ones? https://i.imgur.com/8GChcqg.jpg

Bit of a fashion novice but I really like the style of this type of jacket with the fur lining and am interested in the wool material of the coat, fleece is okay too. I live in a cold climate but I only own bulky heavy duty coats and I want a bit of a lighter jacket.

Unfortunately I've tried 50 different google and reddit searches, including checking the sidebar, and for some reason can't find any outside of cheap Asian companies from Amazon.

Examples from amazon: My favorite looking one "Men's Winter Wool Blend Casual Jacket Stand Collar Coat Outerwear"

"Yeokou Men's Vintage Slim Sherpa Lined Shearling Corduroy Trucker Jacket"

"Vcansion Men's Outdoors Casual Fleece Windproof Jacket Coat"

"M2MO Mens Casual Turn-down Collar Thicken Faux Lamb Wool Lined Jacket"

"Men's Winter Cotton Canvas Tucker Sherpa Collar Jacket with Fur Lining"

Edit just to add: This type of jacket would go great with the social environment I live in. 200$ Budget.

u/M_tridactyla · 8 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

You're going to freeze in that coat.

If you can sacrifice some style for LOTS of warmth, I really recommend military surplus.

The M-1965 field jacket. It's super warm for cheap (I wore mine today in -10 windchills and was toasty with just a sweater underneath), and is vaguely stylish-ish in that it's military gear and military inspired coats are really trendy now.

The only downside is that it doesn't have a real hood, so you need a really good hat. It does have a thin hood that zips into the collar that you can pull out if it's brutal outside and it helps a bit.

If you want warmth, cheap, with a hood, try an N-3B snorkel parka or other military parka.

AFAIK none of these has any wool. They are all just cotton/nylon/other synthetics.

hello! I’m the girl who posted the cosplay photos, and here’s I got almost everything from Amazon!

Hat-https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001FARML4/ref=sspa_mw_detail_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=APCG45FOXJN54

Jacket-https://www.amazon.com/Legendary-Whitetails-Journeyman-Rugged-Tobacco/dp/B00EUHCUIO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1549686904&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mr+robot+jacket&dpPl=1&dpID=413WlcHyQSL&ref=plSrch

Mask-https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Robot-Fsociety-Adult-Mask/dp/B01ENRXCOQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1549686926&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=mr+robot+mask&dpPl=1&dpID=41rABaw4%2BcL&ref=plSrch

Patch-I printed a photo out and attached it to a cardboard backing, but I know they have patches on amazon!

Shirts-I wore a black t-shirt and layered an old flannel on top of it!

Scarf-Again, old scarf, so I’m unsure of where I got it. Any pattern would do well, though, as long as it was brown/tan!

Glasses-My own glasses lol. I did the same cosplay back when I had hipster-esque glasses; it doesn’t impact anything too much unless you’re a stickler for the details.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know!

Hi. I've been looking for a casual jacket for some time now- mostly for casual outings when you don't want to dress to up or too down. And the one Jason Bateman's character wears in season 2 of Ozark seems just perfect.

https://i.imgur.com/t36pUiX.jpg; https://i.imgur.com/z2a3ju9.jpg

Looking on Amazon the closest thing I could find are 'Golf Jackets', which look similar but I have no idea if it's the same style or material. The one in the photo seems to be made of wool or cotton blend and not nylon like most Golf Jackets.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hoping that someone could give me some help on a light spring/fall jacket, pseudo military inspired. I've found these two jackets online which somewhat fit what I'm looking for- (the Prana jacket would be great if it wasn't insulated).

Levi's Cotton Commuter Trucker

Prana Bronson

u/raze583 · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

I just bought this jacket but it is sold out in medium right now.

http://www.amazon.com/Globe-Goodstock-Jacket-Small-Camel/dp/B00ETK2DLQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380665553&sr=8-1&keywords=goodstock

It's a darker color than what you want but pretty similar and close to $60. Pretty good everyday jacket, not suitable for a winter by any means.

u/snowlily96 · 0 pointsr/techwearclothing

Does anyone know where I can find a cool looking shirt jacket like this but better quality? I would like something made with good material that has a hood.

u/hakuna_matata23 · 3 pointsr/malefashionadvice

The hunt for a fall jacket continues. Can someone recommend a sub $100 jacket like this minus the front pockets?
I also like this - what do you guys think? Any other recommendations for olive/tan Harringtons or minimalist field jackets are welcome. I like bombers but don't like how poofy they are, so something with a slim silhouette is also welcome.

u/Silver_Star · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I'm looking for a jacket like this and this.

  • I don't like the padding that the second one has, and I liked that the first one is just the quilt-y stuff all the way to the top.

  • I prefer the zipper pockets that you can rest your hands in on the second one over the button pockets in the first.

  • I also prefer the second ones quilt pattern.

  • I'm a slim fit so bulky jackets look like I'm wearing my dads clothes to school.

What am I looking for and where can I get it in silver?
u/grntplmr · 2 pointsr/TheExpanse

I think you're unlikely to get it fully screen accurate, but if you aim for something with the correct silhouette I think you'll be set. Looks like a pleather-esque single breasted jacket with the collar popped/modified may do the trick.

Something like this may be a good jumping off point. I searched "stand collar jacket"

Hey MFA, I'm looking for a nice lean, slim-fitting jacket (maybe a moto style) for my husband for his birthday on the 8th. This wouldn't be much of a problem for a normally proportioned person, but my husband is 6'5 and ALL torso, so he requires a tall fit for everything.

I'd like to stay under $150. Any advice for where to look? Anybody else suffer from this tallness and have a go-to brand?

Here are some of the styles I've liked so far: Calvin Klein, Some brand I've never heard of, Calvin Klein 2

Thanks guys!

A bit late to help out OP, but for others that come here looking for option, I just wanted to say that I just went with this jacket by Diesel. I thought it was a pretty good deal at $87.

u/glassjoe92 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Does anyone own this [Levi's Cotton Sherpa Trucker Jacket](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JML8P2/_encoding=UTF8?
coliid=I9ZTLDIUQDJJR&colid=1QH0QIYKEFK0U)?

I am curious about fit as I have the regular Trucker Jacket without the wool lining in XXL and it fits more like an XL. However, it's much too large for me now that I've lost some weight. I'm 6'4" and about 210 lbs. Considering ordering the Sherpa in XL, mostly worried about shoulders since mine are a bit broad. I'd like for it to be a more taught fit than a loose one.

Unfortunately, I'm living out of the country and I don't have the luxury of Prime'ing and returning until I find the right fit, so I'm trying to get it right the first time so my friend can bring it when he comes to visit.

Thanks!

u/captainfantastyk · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Can somebody suggest a similar jacket?

https://www.amazon.com/Musterbrand-Witcher-Jacket-Wolf-Gambeson/dp/B00PW3EAYW/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

So I came across this a while back and I really like the look. unfortunately they don't seem to sell it any more. So I've been looking for an alternative.

But that's not been easy. Because the last time I bought a jacket was like 3 years ago. So I made a list of qualities I like.

Not too many pockets, Very sleek. Nice colour. Quilted, But with vertical lines instead of horizontal or in a diamond pattern. And cotton.

u/Icanjam · 12 pointsr/malefashionadvice

I just ordered a cheap Chinese jacket for like $35, (Mr. Want Do?), should get it tomorrow, if it's acceptable for the price ill let you know. Basically this one: http://www.amazon.com/Wenven-Casual-Cotton-Jackets-Green/dp/B00OLVZY1E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1426092207&sr=8-1&keywords=men+spring+jacket

My jacket should arrive in just a few hours, check back here for a quick review!

Review: I got the jacket and it doesn't actually seem that bad the problem is that it's too small for me to wear comfortably. I'm 5'11" and generally wear medium sized clothes and the large I received is at least one size to small. It's definitely a slim fit though which i really liked. The outside fabric it's made out of seems pretty decent quality, the "flannel" on the inside was pretty low quality feeling though. Zippers are a little ruff and the biggest problem (besides size) is the snap buttons. Particularly on the wrists they do not want to stay buttoned. Overall though I would of kept this jacket had it fit me but it doesn't so i won't. I'd order a size XL but they've all completely disappeared from stock on Amazon (the one I linked isn't the same I bought because you can't find the ones I bought on Amazon anymore). I did order a similar looking jacket from Kenneth Cole however, that I should get tomorrow well see how this one plays out

u/SharkfistRobot · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Looking at this levi's 2 pocket hoodie as an alternative to the forest green commuter hooded trucker. I am 6'1 46" chest athletic build, not a bike rider, and most "slim fit" just doesn't fit with my shoulders. I'd love to find a better alternative...

u/Coletron · 1 pointr/frugalmalefashion

Thanks man! I was thinking about this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EUHD23Q?pc_redir=1410498146&robot_redir=1
I'm in Idaho and think it would pair nicely with a trucker jacket or a hoodie for some layer action. Do shirt jackets fit loose enough for that sort of thing?

u/phobius5 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

This shirt jacket. I'm really on the fence about it. I love it but I'm not sure it will look good. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EUHD23Q?pc_redir=1411020003&robot_redir=1

Yeah, do a little search for waxed canvas or canvas. Taylor Stitch has done their long haul in a few different colors in the past if you can wait a bit.

Levi's is probably your best bet for sub-$100 but they won't be waxed.

I've been looking at canvas jackets for fall and came across this. I like the trucker style and it's in my budget. Anyone have any experience with it?

u/jcow77 · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

I'm looking at buying a Member's Only racer jacket and its significantly cheaper on Amazon. I'm still am probally pulling the trigger, but does anybody know why its 35ish dollars less on Amazon than on the Members Only site?

u/W3lshman · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

The style is a Journeyman Jacket. I have Dakota Grizzly's Shane, but they're out of stock. This is what I'd get if I needed to buy something similar.

It's a trucker jacket. Some options:

Target

Old Navy (corduroy)

Levi's

Helmut Lang
