Hello my beautiful friend :)

Although I do like to take my time in crafting my responses to posts here, I am choosing to write things down a little more quickly as I am like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland today... late, late, for a very important date! :)

Not really but I need to attend to an assignment :)

I would like to share with you my experiences in healing my own genital issues. I am a fellow woman.

Most relevant to my journey: I visited a craniosacral practitioner recently and together we helped unblock much stuck energy in my sacral chakra. Craniosacral practitioners help conduct prana (life force energy) to where healing is needed, so that flow can be established. Healing the sacral chakra was a significant part of my first healing. Although I do not think you need to find one of these practitioners (although if this resonates, please do) I would like to suggest sacral chakra healing to you. There are foods one can eat (think orange-colored foods, sweet potatoes, orange red bell peppers, oranges, etc., google is your friend!) meditation music one can listen to (youtube is your friend!) and learning to conduct your own awareness and consciousness in a new way by exploring emotional healing, your sense of creativity, etc:

https://lonerwolf.com/sacral-chakra-healing/

Things that I resonated with for your healing journey:

Marc has given you some very nice advice, and I particularly resonate with changing your laundry soap.

I believe you may have candida yeast over growth. What the heck is that?

Need to caution you, some icky pictures!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candidiasis

Does this interest you? You may take a quiz that may help point you to finding your diagnoses:

https://bodyecology.com/quiz-php/

This is a quiz you can take where you check off your symptoms, the higher the score, the higher the likelihood of yeast overgrowth. Don't feel bad or guilty if you think you have candida. We all have it, and a significant portion of the population has the overgrowth too. Our symptoms just manifest differently, and some are more sensitive than others. Sensitivity is a divine gift, so please do not feel ashamed :)

How to treat?

Yeast feeds on sugar, sugar fermentation leads to increased levels of acid in our body, which lowers our pH and makes us more susceptible to other microorganismal and physical/mental/emotional imbalances :) I think you might be interested in The pH Miracle by Dr. Robert Young:

Now, I provided a lot of information on candida stuff, but I certainly do not want to limit the possibility that you might have another, or different, root cause for the symptoms you are experiencing. If this does not resonate, you certainly do not have to try anything :) This is just my knowledge that I have gathered over many years of being interested in alternative health :)

May you find the healing that you seek :)

Blessed day, happy weekend :)

UTI queen here. I usually get 1-2 per month, typically because of a wide range of reasons. Most notably I get them after sex.

All of the things people mentioned already (pee after sex, drink water, avoid this and that, etc.), while beneficial, never did anything but make me stress about UTIs even more. If you’re like me, you’ve accepted that you’re more prone to them no matter what you do, so the most important thing is killing them without turning to antibiotics. (Taking antibiotics that frequently was concerning my gyno because of the possibility of developing antibiotic resistance.)

So now whenever I feel a UTI coming on, or when I wake up in the throes of one, I take high concentration d-mannose pills. You can find them anywhere. I get mine from Amazon. I’ve tried two brands: one and two

I tried #1 first and they worked beautifully! But I switched to #2 because you get more for your money. But I might switch back because #1 is slightly faster-acting. You’re supposed to take them as daily supplements—I don’t cause I get lazy, but they work just as well as emergency meds. I don’t even have to take those AZO pills that make your pee orange (unless it’s a particularly strong infection).

I haven’t had to touch an antibiotic since and my gyno says I’m completely healthy. (I also suck at drinking water.) Good luck!

EDIT: As for yeast infections, I got tired of dropping money on Monistat, so I take a Boric Acid suppository once a week or, when I get one, everyday until it’s gone. For general maintenance, I use Summer’s Eve Aloe Love Cleansing Wash, though I don’t know if that actually does anything. At the very least, it’s not harmful and claims to balance your PH.

Tell your doctor about this- you might have an issue with your eurethra!

Meanwhile, if your partner is larger/girthy, he is probably shoving all kinds of stuff up your eurethra during sex (which was my problem). Make sure you're drinking LOTS of water, give yourself and him a quick wipe-down before sex (warm washcloth or female hygiene cloth should work fine), and take a UTI tablet once a day while sexually active (I use these http://www.amazon.com/AZO-Natural-Concentrated-Cranberry-Tablets/dp/B001G7QT2E/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1422032829&sr=8-3&keywords=UTI+tablets). This combination works great for me, so maybe it will help?

u/landlockedblues · 9 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

Uuuuugh! I've dealt with this sort of crap so. many. times. I'm even on a preventative macrobid after sex and even that hasn't helped me avoid all the UTIs and the cipro/yeast infection hell that follows.

I've found that taking cranberry supplements helps as well as monitoring for a UTI really helps prevent the cycle if you're as prone to it as I seem to be.

Congrats and good luck in the future! :-)

u/little_sun_boy · 2 pointsr/BadDragon

I'm super prone to UTIs, and this lube has worked really well for me https://www.amazon.com/ID-Personal-Lubricant-17-Ounce-Bottle/dp/B00BFXOT7Q/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=id%2Bglide&qid=1556915565&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1

also I take this supplement daily and it has done wonders to reduce and treat my UTIs! It've been able to avoid antibiotics on multiple occasions by taking a couple extra when I feel one coming on https://www.amazon.com/D-Mannose-Capsules-Cranberry-Dandelion-Infection/dp/B01LX5KGF0/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=d+manose&qid=1556915573&s=gateway&sr=8-7-spell

u/saucystarstuff · 2 pointsr/WomensHealth

Oh! You also might try taking a cranberry supplement. I have friends who swear by it and I decided to try it out. I actually picked these up because I needed the probiotic supplement but I figured the added cranberry couldn't hurt!

Maybe they'll help you, too!

I use probiotics just for general gut health (started when I was transitioning out of 8 years of being a vegetarian.) Instead of my usual ones (Olly), I found some on sale that were cranberry and probiotics specifically for vaginal health. I bought them because they were

  1. on sale

  2. I couldn't get over being able to buy vagina vitamins

  3. my vagina deserves to be spoiled

Anyway, I love them even more than my general probiotics, I try to take them dailyish and they are helpful for my gut biome and I definitely think they help keep my PH in check- I'll take an extra if anything is off down there and it gets back to normal pretty soon. I use these and I used to be able to find them on sale at Target but can't anymore.

u/data_eater · 1 pointr/vaporents

thats good to know. today i am also going to utilize cranberry extract---so im interested to see how long before i have to clean my piece.

D-Mannose saved my life. I was off work sick for a year because I got e-coli and that contributed to me having chronic UTIs that became antibiotic resistant. I got them for like two weeks every four to five weeks. It was hell. Prior to that I had never had a UTI before. My doctor tried to help but we just couldn't stop them from happening so I was sent to a urologist specialist. He's a through and through Western medicine doctor but he had me take D-Mannose. The UTI went away and I stopped getting them. Since then I take them on a maintenance schedule every day. If you're taking it it's something you'll want to take every day, not just during your FW. D-Mannose or cranberry pills will do the trick. The maintenance one I've been taking for the last year are these. I look for one with a high concentration ratio so the one I'm taking now is 36:1. Other keys are try to avoid refined sugar as much as possible (e g. lots of sugary candies and pops), stay hydrated (chamomile tea and water are good), if you drink cranberry juice make sure it's the pure concentrated 100% cranberry juice that comes in a glass jar that you get at health stores and they you need to dilute in water (anything that's like what Ocean Spray sells is bad), and always pee right after sex. Peeing right after sex will not hurt your TTC chances.

Boric acid is amazing for BV! I use these ones from Amazon as they’re cheaper and have more than the ones from target. Seriously give it a try they work so well!

Like someone else mentioned, I use these in combination with the VH Essentials Cranberry Probiotics

u/meowdryhepurrrn · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

cranberry tablets work best for me and are affordable. 1 tablet is the equivalent of 1 glass of cranberry juice. I use these: http://www.amazon.com/AZO-Natural-Concentrated-Cranberry-Tablets/dp/B001G7QT2E

u/iamnotyourcaptain · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I've actually used the one curious-kat recommended just to try to maintain a healthy vag and I didn't really care for it. Now I use VH essentials daily supplement with Cranberry. It's a hell of alot cheaper and it actually works. Guarantee you'll notice a difference within the first 24 hours. You can buy on Amazon or find it at Walmart or CVS. Alot of women take these or use their suppositories to help with their recurrent BV

Ok so I suffered from this exact problem ever since my husband and i stopped using condoms. It was awful- I was going to the doctor 1-2 times a month until finally they prescribed me an antibiotic to take after sex which worked wonders. However once we officially started baby making I didn't want to stay on the antibiotic and my OB told me forget the antibiotic and buy cranberry pills and take them daily. I sometimes will take an extra one when we have sex but otherwise I take them in the morning with vitamins and I've been antibiotic free for at least a year now and not a single UTI. It has to be the cranberry working because before it was literally clockwork- we would have sex and 24-48 hours later awful UTI.

These are what I use. Check out the reviews on them- a lot of comments @ people with UTI's using them and they work to keep them away.

ETA: I've been using cranberry pills daily for a year. Started trying to get pregnant 6 months ago and we've gotten pregnant twice (had a miscarriage in Jan & just found out pregnant now). So cranberry pills def don't seem to have any effect on ability to get pregnant.

These bad boys are the best thing that ever happened to my lady parts.

Concentrated cranberry pills help me with avoiding UTIs. One in the morning and one at night. http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Bounty-Cranberry-Vitamin-Softgels/dp/B002Y27JRE

u/klausthepolarbear · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

Agreed. Juice is not the way to go. You're taking in all that extra sugar that will not help clean out your bladder. Concentrated cranberry capsules are what I take.

u/VaporizerWizard · 6 pointsr/vaporents

I use this which is basically just the main ingredient and much cheaper form of this

u/powersv2 · 2 pointsr/vaporents

I got mine off amazon

u/veeev · 7 pointsr/TryingForABaby

I used to get UTIs frequently and my doctor suggested taking these cranberry pills. I took them for a couple of months, stopped having issues, and never had recurrent UTIs again. I didn't drink nearly as much water then as I do now though.

u/dietotaku · 2 pointsr/breakingmom

pick up some of these from the vitamin shoppe, they kick UTI ass!

u/ihcun · 2 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I had that for awhile. It occurred most noticeably after I took the course of antibiotics prescribed for it. It was like you described - very mild sensation of UTI, not awful, but enough to make you notice it all day. So I took these cranberry pills once a day, and also used this D-mannose powder. I'm not sure which one worked because I was doing them both, but the UTI went away completely after a week of doing those. And whenever I thought I felt it coming back, I'd just take a cranberry pill and it'd disappear. I haven't had it since, and I'm not taking the pills anymore.

And this is the part I'm hesitant to say because there's absolutely no scientific evidence backing this up, but I stopped eating the sausage meat from McDonalds. Because both of the times I had really severe UTIs, I'd had sex and gotten a sausage biscuit from McD's the next morning. I'm pretty sure it's a mental thing, but I can't eat sausage biscuits from there anymore.

u/Siaki · 2 pointsr/PEDs

Try this out: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B1WZWN0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fp4LDbWTDF3JC

I take it twice a day and it helped bring down my BUN/creatinine levels that were elevated. Kidney pain was very minimal and I didn’t have yellow piss on 12mg/6 weeks.
