Sleeves on Amazon: link
Mousepad: Glorious 3XL
Mouse: G305

Been suffering from sweaty forearms for the past year or two. Didn't really notice it in the past due to playing high sens (35 cm/360). After going down to 75 cm/360, the sweat buildup, likely due to a genetic issue, proved to be a significant issue when in high tension situations or playing in the Summer.
RJN did a video on sleeves, but he showed himself placing his forearm on his desk. This is valid, and can definitely be an issue for those who use medium sens and can't lock their arm to the table. The sleeves didn't seem like they'd help extreme low sens players, however. It seemed like it'd just drag along the mousepad (Glorious 3XL in picture). After someone here mentioned that they used it on a large pad, it seemed worth a shot.
Got these 2 days ago, and the experience is amazing! No more getting up every 10 minutes to wash forearm. No more baby powder as a temporary solution only to make the pad stickier because of the powder. No more hot, sweaty arms! Though, the rest of your body might want compression sleeves, too. And no more needing to play in 55 degrees Fahrenheit just to not sweat, only to sneeze every 15 seconds. Your arm will stay cool and compressed, and it'll glide easily over the pad, cloth or hard.

Essential steps for this particular sleeve:

Feel free to try out any other sleeves. These were the first pick, and they worked perfectly. Maybe you already have sleeves! Give it a try! Maybe you have sleeves, but they dragged. Flip it inside out!~ Good luck, Mouse fam!

Note of caution: A friend said he couldn't use compression sleeves because of heart problems. If you don't know if you're okay to use this, make sure to check with your doctor! And always stretch! Blood flow is crucial!

What kind of light(s) you need depends greatly on where you'll be riding and how much you need the light to see vs being seen.
I have the exact same headlight you do and it's perfect for my needs. I commute year round (which means well after sunset for several months), but only for a few miles, mostly on side or slower roads, and there are streetlights for my entire route. I use the steady + blink mode to make sure I am noticed but also have my own illumination. If I were to regularly bike on busier streets or on paths that aren't illuminated, I might feel safer with something brighter.
However, being able to see things is only a small part of biking at night. Your greatest danger will be from cars who don't see you, and the more you can do about that, the better. At minimum, you absolutely want a good red blinky (or two) facing behind you. Additionally, I also have a "killer yellow" blindingly bright cycling jacket (that also makes a fantastic windblock), reflective bike strips for my wheels, leg bands for my pants, various other reflective stuff on my bike, and EL wire for when I'm doing longer night rides.
There's a ton of LED technology out there that can make lighting up easy, fun, and not too expensive.
While there may not be studies to "prove" that increasing visibilty makes you safer, I would have to say it does based on my experiences both as a cyclist and a motorist. Anectodal? Sure... but worst case it's much harder for someone to argue that they "couldn't see you" when you're lit up like a christmas tree :D
Ok on to what you can do to be more visible...
MonkeyLights? I've heard wonderful things about them and they really help your side visibility (good for intersections) plus they look badass. Much more expensive than those wheel reflectors though and require battery power.
I've also been really impressed by the reflective ankle bands. The pedal movement is very distinctive and the ones I've seen are very bright.
I also really like these high vis gloves I got last year. Makes it easy to see hand signals when my Jacket is configured as a vest.
To OP /u/SirNoodlesworth and you,
For Winter:
Thermal and Windproof jacket by Przewalski
Neck warmer, unless it's super duper cold, then try full Balaclava
Windproof gloves, and if you want extra padding, try Pearl Izumi from LBS. They're pricier, but may be worth it depending on your comfort tolerance levels.
For Florida/summer:
Best "cheap" bibs! Double stich and will handle lots of washes.
Comfy jerseys with high quality zipper (the zipper is usually the first thing to break on the cheapies).
For ladies, my wife loves these kits. Comfortable and durable.
I have very large thighs and have a couple pairs of this brand: https://www.amazon.com/Ladies-Viper-Panel-Cycling-Shorts/dp/B00DWX90QW/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1496638640&sr=8-7&keywords=tenn+cycling+shorts
I was skeptical because of the price, and that they come from Amazon, but they are very comfortable and work well. I just wore them on a 62 mile ride and didn't have any problems. Some reviews said they ran small (even for cycling shorts) so I ordered a size up and they worked great. I ordered them last year and they are still in really good condition.
Hello! Fellow Lady Rider here.
I recommend using padded shorts. I bought these and they protect the little man in the canoe quite nicely. My canoe has a little extra jewelry than your normal canoe (went for that upgrade model) and I don't have any issues with my 50+ mile rides. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N4ON9HQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DuzBDbW3MY8DB
Also, when you're riding you want to make sure your form is good so that when you're on the saddle, you're not sitting directly on your jelly bean but sitting more on the part of the butt right below the tail bones so you're slightly leaning forward. https://images.app.goo.gl/hifU7r5sNivF3AjTA
Good luck! Protect the pink pearl at all costs!
So I'm actually a guy but will offer some advice from a female co-worker who rides quite a bit. She likes the Baleef chamois undies under a sport skirt. I know nothing about skirts (since I'm a guy), but I think this is what she is referring to -> http://www.amazon.com/Baleaf-Womens-Padded-Cycling-Underwear/dp/B0183DED6C/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464724134&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=baleef+chamois+women
...and we both like Chamois Butt'r. She gets the ladie's version for ph balanced something or other... Another Amazon link. http://www.amazon.com/Chamois-Buttr-Her-8oz-tube/dp/B00D535IAG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464724181&sr=8-1&keywords=Chamois+Buttr+women
Good Luck!
A pair of lobster gloves work great. They may be goofy looking, but they give you nice control and warmth at the same time.
Good luck, and keep on ridin'!
IMO, shaving does help. (To avoid ingrown hairs, shave two days in a row- it really works!) I have trimmed and shaved, and both seem to help. I prefer shaving since it lasts longer and I'm lazy. :)
What size do you wear? I wear a 14 and bought these on Amazon-http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091TFJGQ/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I went with a Large, but they have two larger sizes. They are snug, but not tight and have a drawstring at the waist, which I like. They are light/medium on the amount of padding, but I prefer them to the heavy diaper-feeling chamois I have used before.
Also, I did get some DZ nuts (Lovelybike review here helped me choose that brand and I really do like it a lot.
I hope that helps a bit! What kind of saddle have you got? How much time have you spent on it? Maybe there's something else that can be helpful...
Pearl Izumi liner shorts are the best deal I've found, thus far. Good quality, cheap, and they're super comfortable under regular shorts.
Men = http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004ELBQW2
Women = http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004ELBSL6
Arm sleeves - These are great year round, the more you sweat the cooler they get.
Bluetooth Speaker/Charger - If he's in an LLV and the outlet doesn't work this doubles as a charger, I've been using this for over a year and the speaker is loud and last for over 3 days.
LED rechargable lantern - These are great during the fall/winter months when we're out late, I clip it to my satchel and it illuminates my entire body and a decent area around me so I don't fumble with a clip light on my cap. Plus if you do box deliveries you can clip it to the top of the door and see pretty damn well.
Like I said I know very little lol! Here's what I found:
There are sleeves that are both made for athletes and made for simply covering tattoos! If you are mainly concerned with it being breathable Google search "breathable athletic sleeve" - there are a lot from Dick's for instance that seem really breathable for a decent price.
There are actually places that make sleeves designed to cover tattoos as well. Tatjacket has a ton of different options, Tat2x has a bunch of colors available, and even Walmart has some! Google "Tattoo coverup sleeve" if you want more options. Saw a ton on amazon too!
Hopefully this helps a little!
Edit: Here's an example I found on Amazon!
Question about alterations. How easily can I alter a pair of pants made of 60% Polyester / 33% Cotton / 7% Elastin Dyed Stretch?
I have these fabulous Giro commuter pants, but the waist band is way too big on my size 6 (probably need to take them in at least an inch or more). I'm thinking about ordering a size 4 to compare, but they fit fine in the legs, so it might make more sense for me to get these tailored if I can.
Thoughts?
I'm a guy, so I wear the men's version of this:
http://www.amazon.com/Pearl-Izumi-Womens-Liner-Short/dp/B004ELBSL6
I like them quite a bit - I just wear normal shorts over them. Since I can wear shorts at work, I often don't even bother changing into normal underwear during the day.
They're affordable and fairly comfortable.
Edit: I also tried a couple other brands from REI... Canari and Novara I found I prefered the fit of the Pearl Izumis. I like Novara the least because the elastic on the legs was too tight for my legs.
Women's PDA Running Gloves M/L https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009AKE4MQ/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_CfvFub041E4ZE
I use the men's version, but they're good to like 10F for me and if it's colder I put a thin pair of liners in them.
Since Tuilere recommended a thicker pad, here's a pair that's not super expensive, but still has a thick pad: http://www.amazon.com/Ladies-Panel-Professional-Cycling-Shorts/dp/B00545PNWG/ref=pd_ys_iyr23. It's like wearing two mega maxi pads. lol.
I use some fairly cheap padded liner shorts from Amazon under my regular shorts or tights.
These or these for commuting, longer ones for mtb.
I used the high end expensive shorts like Pearl Izumi for years before switching to the cheap ones a few years ago. I bough one pair for $10 just to try then got 4 more pair I liked them so much.
Here is my ALL TIME favorite shirt. Expensive but well worth it!! http://www.amazon.com/Ibex-Womens-Woolies-Black-X-Small/dp/B001NPE6M4/ref=sr_1_12?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1382668572&sr=1-12&keywords=ibex+long+sleeve+shirt
I have a half dozen pairs of cycling shorts, and on all of them the waistband eventually bothers me on long (>3 hour) rides, except for one pair of louis garneau shorts (somewhat like these: https://www.amazon.com/Louis-Garneau-Fit-Sensor-Short/dp/B019G9V4GO)
edit: I suck at commenting, tried to click help me make a pretty link, and instead posted. Anyways, the waistband on those shorts is much nicer than the standard tight elastic. I guess bib shorts would do the trick too, but for some reason I haven't managed to find a pair that's fit me yet.
Champion has some on amazon. Also, Nike makes 5" shorts.
https://www.amazon.com/Champion-Womens-Absolute-SmoothTec-Waistband/dp/B01GUIVK5Y/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1494959433&sr=8-5&keywords=champion+shorts+women
I like cotton bike shorts: https://www.amazon.com/Champion-Womens-Absolute-SmoothTec-Waistband/dp/B01GUIVK5Y/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537904611&sr=8-3&keywords=champion%2Bcotton%2Bbike%2Bshorts&th=1&psc=1

Only $15 from Amazon
You can also buy Gold Bond anti chaffing stick (looks like deoderant) and run it between your thighs to eliminate chub rub! I use it all summer
This is just a start, but these are some things I've used and things I've seen. Those gloves are impregnable to wind, and are incredibly warm in sub-freezing temps.
Oh, and for gloves, I have always preferred lobster style, like these, though I do not know if those particular ones are good.
depending on how combat intense/sweaty you are going to be is what I would probably build around. I really hate bodypaint so for me it would be all about minimizing having it.
https://www.amazon.com/Aegend-Sleeves-Cooling-Women-1-Assorted/dp/B07C9ZLT23/ref=pd_sbs_200_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07C9ZLT23&pd_rd_r=TM3P3HGZ5CKRHJGWYXJ5&pd_rd_w=f8Uoq&pd_rd_wg=0v9DO&refRID=TM3P3HGZ5CKRHJGWYXJ5
I would probably get arm/leg covers like this and either paint or attach wires/lights/whatever.
If you are going full robot something like a airsoft mask with some googles would probably be a good base to start, you could even stick a voice changer or a led light that lights up when you talk.
