my advice here should be helpful https://www.reddit.com/r/dogs/comments/art6mh/help_my_dog_is_depressed_after_my_other_dog/egpxcom

Good for you about going to the vet first, they will be able to give you some advice and direction. After he gets the medical all clear, You can try adding some freeze dried additives or make his current food a 'stew' with some warm water. Canned Pumpkin (no sugar) and green beans (no added salt) also are a fantastic nutritional boost, digestive aid, and something else that may entice his appetite, as well as being safe for most dogs even with special diets, food allergies, or weight management.

Considering she's having some poop/vomit issues, and isn't eating much, it may be worth a trip to the vet just to be on the safe side. Most healthy dogs won't starve themselves, although there are exceptions to this! For peace of mind, I'd say vet visit. If its nothing: awesome - you can switch foods, and call it a day. But, it could be something internal making her ill/decreasing her appetite, and better caught earlier than later.

I've found the easiest way for my dog to stay interested in her food is to feed her a mix (which, was a trick the local humane society told me - although, they do it because they rely on food donations). I use 3 parts Food A, 1 part Food B, shaken up with Freeze Dried Meal Toppers, and with Nordic Natural's oil drizzled on top. It sounds complicated, but it really isn't since I prepare a big bag of it at once.

My dog will pick the food toppers out and ignore the kibble, so what I've learned works best is to take the toppers, stick 'em in a ziplock baggie and then use a rolling pin to turn it into little flaky powder. I then mix that in with the kibble, so it gets on the kibble, but isn't anything she could pick out. Works like a charm.

I feed my frenchie this and she loves it! She is allergic to grain but after eating this for awhile she doesn’t have any skin issues or digestive issues

My Boston survived parvo as a pup and has had tummy issues ever since. We feed her Primal. She does really well on it. This was a good resource when we were looking for better food for her.

monthly service that delivers treats and toys to your door, slightly customized depending on the size of your dog. you can google it for more info.

most of the toys are ok...my dog destroys them in minutes most times but even the worst ones are still empty husks that are good for a game of tug or for him to just throw around. every once in awhile we get a really great toy out of it (I have 4 or 5 so far over the past year that are extremely durable and great for him playing by himself). They put really good treats in there too...Zuke, Stella & Chewy...stuff like that. I got this exact bag one month. We pay 16/mo (or maybe 19, I forget) for 6 months and that bag alone is $10. And there was another bag of treats in it, a bully stick, and a toy.

You don't want anything too big because depending on how often you treat a particular dog, you can make it a little chonk, lol.

Something that you can use that is small are the baggies that are marketed as "mix-in" for dog food. Like this.

You can absolutely do serious damage to a small dog by feeding a home-cooked diet without proper nutritionist consultations. There are plenty of properly formulated premium kibbles available in trial sizes. Dogs care more about smell than taste, so if you add hot water to their food so it smells stronger, they're more likely to be attracted to it.

I feed Bounder this from Amazon. You can get it cheaper other places but it seems like Amazon is the most reliable when it comes to availability.

Here's some pictures, so you can kinda see how his hair is growing these days. (These are from before his latest bath, so excuse the messy look.)

The problems you have described in your dog could be from any number of reasons. Possibly some bugs, maybe a wheat allergy, or chemicals that are put into dog food. My advice would be to switch to an all natural dog food. We did this with our boxer who had itching problems and it worked like a charm, We currently use :https://www.amazon.com/Dapper-Dog-Cuisine-Human-Dehydrated/dp/B071CTW454/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494126924&sr=8-1&keywords=dapper%2Bdog%2Bfood&th=1

There are freeze dried dog patties that are high in calories, lightweight and don't take up much space. I always have extra in my pack.

She eats the fancy stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Primal-Pet-Foods-Freeze-Dried-Formula/dp/B00B1H3ZYE

I tried it while I was experimenting with foods when I first got her, and now the little shit refuses any other wet food. Amazon is a little pricier, I can usually find it for $25 or so. But each bag last for about 2-3 weeks, plus I feed her a little bit of kibble on top of that.

Cheese and chicken but even higher? Stella and Chewy salmon topper. It's so bad, that if Cosmo so much as sees a red bag he FREAKS out barking and jumping. He doesn't get excited like that for anything but that.

Edit: Last night I had to ward him off of me because I was eating popcorn that just so happened to be in a red bag. Silly pupper.
