• RAM: RAM prices changed, this set is cheaper and will work just as well. Life time warranty and timings don't matter in terms of performance.
  
• SSD: Prices changed! The CL4111 was on a very good deal back then, but is more expensive than the Samsung 850 EVO. Which is a very high quality SSD. Review.
  
• HDD: Again prices changed and the WD Blue is now very close to pricing with the Seagate HDD. This WD Blue how-ever runs at a lower RPM. Which also means slightly less performance. But for your use case, this is something you would not be able to tell if you did a blind test. Less RPM also equals less hit on wear + a more quiet operation.
  

• GPU: Because you asked for Nvidia I had to go for the GTX970. It would be possible to squeeze in the GTX980, but I will show you why I did not do this. If we compare benchmarks from 5 games @ 1080p. Also if you buy the GPU from B&H you'll get a free game with it: Rise of the Tomb Raider! If you absolutely have to buy it from Amazon/Newegg I suggest to get it from Newegg so you'll also get the game; but it's $20 more.

  Now I have to be absolutely clear that the R9-390X got advantages over the GTX970 aside from just pure performance.
  
  

1. VRAM: 8GB vs 3,5GB. The GTX970 only got 3,5GB of usable VRAM. Now for 1080p this is absolutely nothing to worry about, yet. But games start to really utilize and push the VRAM to it's limits already. So the GTX970 will fall behind here eventually. This mostly means that you have to turn down the quality of the games; so that the GPU requires to use less VRAM.
   
2. DirectX 12: AMD is having the advantage here. The current Nvidia cards out are not designed to "work well" with DirectX 12. Here is an article that explains the issue. Now for the moment there is only 1 game out that runs on DX12. So we can't draw too many conclusions from it just yet but the AMD cards get a very nice performance boost over the Nvidia cards.
   
   

• PSU: A slightly higher quality PSU. I mean, the GQ650 is not bad at all. This one is just ever so slightly better. Because the GTX970 draws less power, the 550W is more than enough to be able to run the system. If you don't care much and want to save $10, you can get the GQ650, no problem.
  
• Wireless Network Adapter: Went for a PCI-express version of very high quality. The USB version would work just fine as well, but I like this one a lot. It also got a Bluetooth adapter built into it, so that's a nice bonus.
  
• Monitor: Absolutely do not get a TN monitor as your secondary monitor. Watch the video in my list about panel types. IPS monitors are far more superior in every single way over a TN monitor for when you use it as a secondary one. The viewing angles are very important here, this means that you don't have to look straight at the secondary monitor to get a good image. A TN panel would have the colors "wash out" when looked from the side. Also the colors are higher quality and simply got "more" colors. When I first got an IPS (PLS actually, but whatever; same technology, just a little bit brighter) monitor. My eyes were amazed! I noticed it especially after looking at skin colors in videos. It looked so much more natural. I could easily compare since I still had my TN monitor.
  
• Mouse Mat: I found this one a bit back and forgot about it. Review. The reason why I changed it, it's pretty much the same style as the Kingston HyperX as it are both cloth pads. But the Glorious gaming XXL is just a bit larger & the logo is more monochroom. They've even got the XXXL (48" x 24") if you need an even bigger one for $35.

I recommend this one because it has 2 DVI ports, vga, hdmi, dsub, 5 usb (2 back, 3 side), and basically everything you need in a port replicator.

Those particular laptops come with a 256GB SSD (Samsung, Seagate, or some other vendor, just depends but I've found most use Samsung and Seagate).

You can get 16GB kit would should be plenty for most virtualization and the 2.7GHz has hyper threading as well.

Wireless is I think the Intel 7620-AC Dual band but there is an additonal slot for a secondary card. (I think there is actually 3 slots total but only enough wires for 2 cards).

Network is 10/100/1000



You're going to be hard to find a better laptop with all that for cheaper. Brand new these things run around 1200 - 1500 depending.

Now the only thing that really bugs me when buying those is it's going to be a grab bag on whether you get a 9w (extended battery) or not.

If you don't get a 9w battery then I'd recommend picking one up.

The monitors and everything else is up to you but that would be my recommendation for what you're looking for.

Edit: Forgot these are also super easy to take apart. 7 screws on the back and the panel comes off super easy.

Edit 2: Also, because those sell out, make sure if you go on overstock that the processor is the 2.7ghz i7 if you want to do virtualization.

Edit 3: Sorry keep forgetting things. Those laptops come with some shitty chinese replacement chargers. They can cause issues with the touch pad while charging. However the port replicator (docking station) should come with a legit Dell charger that will work for the laptop as well since it's universal.

Since you didn't say, I'm going to assume you're a palm gripper...and just in case (since some people get it mixed up), low sens = using a lot of mouse movement to turn around, whereas high sens = just needs a few inches to do a 360.

Mice:

• Razer Deathadder 2013 ($57): I haven't seen anything negative about this mouse's sensor, only praise...I'm assuming it's another Deathadder with a flawless sensor. You can't beat the Deathadder in design/ergonomics if you're a palm gripper - it has . Downside is having to use Synapse 2.0 drivers which I have heard are a pain in the ass...haven't used them myself though. Also, I feel that the braided cable is a downside too since it is much heavier and rigid than non-braided.
  
  
• Zowie EC1 eVo ($62): (Just got mine yesterday, I've used the Mamba (wireless Deathadder) for quite a while before this) Huge mouse feet for dat glide, non-braided cable, mouse is so freaking light that it feels wireless (especially with a cable bungee), absolutely no drivers - you just hold down certain buttons while plugging in the USB if you want to change settings. Flawless sensor and great for low sens gaming due to its lightness and optical sensor. Oh yeah, and it comes with a spare pair of mice feet, how can ya not love that?
  
  A wireless Mamba is gunna set you back $105 for the mouse alone, so I don't suggest that, even though this mouse has served me well.
  
  Keyboards:
  
  At that price ($110) for that Cooler Master board, it's just not worth it. Leopold is a better choice at that price range. Don't get me wrong, CM makes good stuff, but their niche is in the sub $70 range...that's when they are really good buys, but you'd have to wait for a sale, and who knows when the next one would be.
  
  
• Leopold: Mechanical keyboards are absolutely worth it and these guys make some of the best keyboards on the market (in our price range). You're going to have to decide what switches you want though. I went with red, they are incredibly light, but if I got to choose again I'd probably go with blacks (they are a little heavier to press). It all depends on what you mostly do...gaming or typing? If you type more than game then you'd probably be better off with browns or blues. These things are built like tanks though, really sturdy and heavy, also it's nice that there is a groove to route the cable to the left or right on the back, if you need that. This keyboard will literally last you forever.
  
  Mousepad:
  
  
• SteelSeries Qck Heavy ($21) or Qck+ ($17): The most popular low-sens mousepads around. The Heavy has a 6mm thickness and is good if your desk has an uneven surface. The Qck+ is just a skinny version of the same thing at 2mm thickness. I have a Qck+ but looking to buy a Heavy just because I want something thicker; the Qck+ does its job very well though. Btw, the Zowie glides amazingly on this pad.
  
  
• Xtrac Ripper XXL ($30): If you want something ungodly in size so that you can put your keyboard and mouse on it, then look no further than this desk pad.
  
  I don't know how you feel about cable drag, but it makes me want to do terrible things to innocent creatures. I mentioned earlier that I am using a mouse bungee ($17) from Razer and it works well enough. The Zowie's cable is a bit too thick to fit in the last clip closest to the base, but it fits in the other two just fine and does its job of no-drag. But, if you've got enough space for the cable to stretch out...Zowie's cable is so light that you might not feel it anyway.
  
  I went as close to the budget as I could/went over it a bit (depending on what you choose). If you're going to be dropping this much money on peripherals then you might as well get the best that will last you for years to come.

  Your laptop appears to have a M5970 /w VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort and Eyefinity support.
  I'd recommend x2 of these IPS screens: Dell u2410. These screens have very good picture quality and their connections fits your laptop prefectly. They are pricy, but IPS provides the best picture quality.
  
  You may also check 2412 and the 2312, however they do not have HDMI.

• To connect your PS3 to a monitor you have two options: use connect laptop to monitor using DisplayPort cable and PS3 to monitor with HDMI OR purchase a HDMI switch. Then, connect HDMI cable from your laptop plus the HDMI from your PS3 into the switch and connect the switch to the screen. You want a active switchr /w it's own power supply. You can also get HDMI switches with remote control. With the switch I linked, adding a TV above your station would not be an issue at all.

  For your laptop you got countless options. Here's my suggestions:
  
  
• Although this does not hide the laptop in any way, I think a laptop stand like this one looks pretty awesome. An advantage with this setup is that you can tie the cables to the mount's arm and thus always be available. You will always know where the cables are, that they are long enough and you can plug them in to your PC even when sitting.
  
  
• If you have a keyboard tray but don't use it, the tray would be an ideal place to hide the laptop. It'd be completely hidden and have almost the same cable management benefits of the mount.
  
  
• Laptop stand. Just to mention it. Cables everywhere, possibly limited moveability due to cable length, terrible cable management.

  Unfortunately I can't help you with iPad or chair, but I would advice against a glass desk. You will have a harder time with cable management and you will always be able to see your cables. If you get a desk such as the Galant series from Ikea, you get more options for cable management (such as trays and cable holes).

I love them. Bought one new from Newegg on sale for $350 and one from Acer recertified for $280 (which is exactly what this thread is of). They're super smooth if you've got a good AMD card. Even a strong Nvidia card will look great, but won't be able to utilize the freesync like an AMD card could. I've used this copy/pasta in other posts about this monitor, so here it is again.

 

I used this guy's Amazon tutorial on how to put the adapter on, although I got the non-quick set version that comes in seperate tubes.

These are the items I purchased:

• VESA adapter, almost twice as strong as the quick-set.
  
  
• This exact JB Weld, although I got mine from the local Lowe's.
  
  
• Monitor Mount, I went single mount over double, so I could have more freedom of placement.
  
  Here are the pics of my setup. Please note, I waited a full 24 hours before mounting them. I know people get antsy, but just wait!!! Also, when adjusting the monitors for the first time, don't use too much torque, or you might detach the adapter from the monitor. The scratch marks you see on the back of the monitor, next to the adapter are where I sanded it down. I don't care about the way it looks, since my desk is against a wall. You can probably be a bit more careful if you actually care about the looks. I also sanded off the paint from the adapters so I can get good contact between the rough plastic surface and the bare steel plate. The screws that came with the adapters, as long as I washered them out a little, were perfectly fine to use.
  
  There are still some small adjustments I need to make to the way they are lined up, but this is pretty much 99% done. I highly recommend anyone looking for more desk space to give this a shot.

I'm gonna triple mount 3 Asus VG248QE monitors (24" screen, each 22.5"wide), and I'm unsure about what mounts I should use. I was eyeing this triple monitor mount, but I don't know if it will perfectly fit my monitors or allow me to curve them inward enough. This is a big deal for me since I want to have three monitors and my tower (9" wide) on my desk (72"), and curving the outer two monitors will make everything fit with ease. That being said, I was also thinking about getting 3 of these single monitor mounts which seem to be cheaper. The only cons I can think of with this is that initial set up will be a drag and the cable management will be less appealing. I assume this method would allow for more freedom with a single monitor, so I'll be able to save more space on my desk and rotate monitors with ease. I'm sorta leaning towards the latter option, but I could really use a second opinion- Should I get the 3x mount or 3 1x mounts? Is there a recommended alternative anyone can vouch for that won't kill my wallet?

The entire build is themed White, black, with purple highlights. The RAM is white with controllable RGB (set it to purple), the stock Wraith cooler is controllable RGB (set to purple), the motherboard is black and white with controllable RGB (set to purple), the GPU is powerful enough for 1440p 60fps ultra settings and is white, the keyboard is one of many potential options with full RGB (set to purple), the mouse is black and white with RGB (set to purple).

With cablemod, you can easily get a G3 compatible cable kit that is either white, purple, or purple and white depending on if you go with a basic cable kit or you make a custom one. They also sell other things, so depending on how nuts you want to go, look that site over. Things like purple thumbscrews, purple SATA cables, etc. Note- the cable kit MUST be G3 compatible, or you will fry your system. Thankfully there are tons of G3 compatible kits there.

Next, you could do either black and white fans OR black and RGB controllable fans set to purple. This case can support 2x 120mm fans in the back and top, and 2x 140mm fans in the front. I picked out Fractal un-lit fans simply due to quality and I'm not sure how lit up you want this case to be. However, something like a the Corsair HD 120mm 3x pack with controller would be a suitable choice here. I use that myself, and the purple setting would complement nicely. Other fan kits also exist, some with more fine control over what colors you want such as this would emit less light, but have much more control over what color you want through a program versus the switch on the Corsair. You could do 5x 120mm here, but the 140mm option in the front would make less noise and push more air. The Nzxt Aer 140mm would work in conjunction with the 120mm 3x pack, since it all leads to the same controller.

The Nzxt H440 also comes in a similar color scheme if you want a different case option with better airflow and more space to work with. I believe you can also purchase the tempered glass panel they use in the S340 elite and use that directly with the standard model, but I'm not 100% positive on that. Glass would look nicer, so you might want to consider the Elite S340 in plain white instead. Up to you.

2 questions for this monday morning:

1. Dual monitor stand recommendations? Seems like both Mount It! and VIVO are good - i want something where each arm is individually adjustable. Clamp style is preferred but the option to have a stand would be nice too. I have two u2414h's to mount. Is one clearly better than another? Looking at this VIVO and this mount it! - is one better than another or do any of you have recommendations?
   
   
2. RAM timings - i've got 2x8gb G.SKILL TridentX 1866 DDR3 sticks, and a 4790k. According to PCPartPicker, these exceed the Haswell recommendation of 1.5v, and will be downclocked. Should i return and get something like the 1866 snipers, which are cheaper, or will i be fine?

DP cables are mostly the same, can't go wrong with monoprice though, they sell some on Amazon too. I think mine is an Amazon Basics though. Yes the stock one is super short that comes with it. I have an odd setup but I originally got a 6ft DP then sent it back as it was to short and ended up with a 10ft.
 
I got this beauty of an arm mount for my X34. I went with the taller pole one as I like more height than most people. I love it, it's great! Anything Ergotron will be great though, the Amazon Basics arms are just relabeled Ergotron but come in black instead of chrome.

Going by your specifications, I doubt you’ll need to spend anywhere near 4k, especially if you only need some 1080p panels.

Unless this is just a personal project and you don’t mind blowing hours upon hours on setting everything up, you’re going about this the wrong way. It’ll be 100x times easier using Windows as your host and just running a single Linux VM (No hardware passthrough and minimal gaming performance impact).

That’s my 2 cents.

Since you have access to a Microcenter, you can get an i7 5820k and a m-ATX EVGA Micro 2 for very cheap.

Parts:

• i7 5820k - 6 core / 12 thread cpu that overclocks very well. It might be a bit overkill for your needs, but you'll be able to dedicate 2 cores to your VM while leaving 4 for gaming.

  For your monitors, i went with 3 1080p IPS panels with small bezels and a 29" 1080p ultrawide to sit on top of them (All VESA compatible). Hi all I am hoping someone could help me.

I have my computer currently sitting underneath my desk and as my floor is carpeted I have my PC sitting on a piece of cardboard until I find something better to sit my PC on.

I'm thinking of buying a Melamine particle/MDF board from my local hardware store - as anything I find on eBay or Amazon is either not the right dimensions or too expensive. I have seen something like this but I don't know if it's suitable or could possibly break.

Would the particle/MDF board be okay? Or if you have any other suggestions that are easy on the bank and safe for the PC I would greatly appreciate it.

ps. I cannot place my PC on top of my desk as I have limited space and my cat likes to be in high places, and I don't want her sitting on top of it if I can help it.

For things that are more significant than accessories: Get some active studio monitor speakers, a nice dac/pre-amp/mixer, a mechanical or electrostatic-capacitive keyboard, a REALLY nice office chair, and stuff like that. A good battlestation is about a lot more than a big monitor, cool case, and some good processing power.

I use the 3M Precision Mousing Surface. It's not particularly large, which I like because I'm a little cramped for space. It's about the thickness of a credit card, but flexible. The top is ridged in a way that makes my R.A.T. 3 just glide over it super smoothly. Never had any issues with it losing tracking or anything, and I can't speak for how well it extends mouse battery life as I can't stand gaming with a heavy wireless mouse.

As for speakers, I don't know if I can really help you since I use a pair of Bowers & Wilkins DM602 bookshelf speakers and a Lepai 20w amplifier. Those speakers might be a bit out of your price range, but I totally recommend going the outboard amp + bookshelf speaker route if you have the room and want really good sound.

Hmm that was an interesting study to read. I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but it seems like that study was focused mainly on the ergonomics of using mice. I know some mouse pads themselves come with wrist rests, typically made out of that silicon material. However, i'm just talking about keyboard wrist rests.

It would have been interesting to see this study being done on subjects using a keyboard, both with and without a wrist rest (i'm sure there is such a study, somewhere..not going to bother with trying to dig one up at this moment). A keyboard requires much more work from one's hands so I could assume that a wrist rest would help alleviate someone who maybe works for long hours at a time at a keyboard that doesn't already provide some sort of angled wrist support.

From personal experience-- I've had a co-worker who is an avid PC gamer and always uses his K65 compact mechanical keyboard which comes equipped with a rubberized (or some sort of softer plastic) slope for support.

At our job, we need to be using a computer at all times. The keyboards provided to us there have absolutely no support for the wrist. He began to complain of feeling strain on his wrists, and bought himself one of these, and hasn't complained since.

So it's a bit tough to say, but I feel like there's a lot of factors. For some people it could work and for others, maybe not.

Desk: IKEA Linnmon/Oddvald. Pretty solid desk for the price, although leg room is a bit lacking, probably upgrading soon.

Chair: DXRacer Formula Series, really helped my posture and got rid of my back pain. Plus I'm a huge gear-head so it's very much my style.

Keyboard: Das Keyboard Professional w/ Brown Switches. This keyboard is fantastic, it's a treat to use every day, feels buttery smooth to type on and build quality is superb. I also have a CM Quickfire Ultimate that I use at work, also browns.

Mouse: Zowie EC2-A. Replaced my old Logitech G400 when it started intermittently cutting out, I think I like this mouse even more.

Mousepad: SteelSeries QcK+ for all that low DPI goodness.

Headset: Kingston HyperX Cloud II. I love this headset, it's super comfortable and has good directional sound.

Speakers: Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 FFP. I use my headset mainly but these are good enough for when I need them.

Monitors: BenQ XL2411Z flanked by two ASUS VS247H-P mounted on an Ergotech Triple Monitor Stand. Finally got the monitor stand this year after using two boxes to hold up my side monitors for far too long. However, the BenQ is probably my favorite purchase out of all of these, would've bought three if it served any real benefit to me.

Random Peripherals: uxcell extended power switch. I keep my computer under my desk so this is handy so I don't have to crouch under my desk to turn on my computer.

Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 5-Port PCI Express Card. My motherboard came with a fairly low number of USB ports so this allows me to plug in my printer and external hard drive, etc.

Yeah O.o I love the white, and the cleaning it has been worth it. Even though I probably don't need to, I end up throwing it in the washer every couple months. Super easy to get nice and clean!

Some things to consider to optimize your mouse setup:

• DPI: People have different preferences, and you gotta find what works for you and your current monitor resolution. It's generally good practice to buy a mouse with decent DPI settings. I recommend this.

• Mouse Pad: A large and smooth surface area for your movements is always better. This is why a lot of people prefer mouse pads like this and this.

• Hand/Mouse Ratio: I can't really recommend anything here, but it's usually best to use a mouse that feels right for your hand. In other words, ergonomics. The mouse I posted above works for me, but it may not be best for everyone. My recommendation here is to go to a local electronics store and try out their display 'gaming' mouses.

Do you have monitor stands? If not, do your monitors have VESA mounts? Get monitor arms! I got this one when they were $30 each, but they have another (newer looking) model for $40 which is still really good for a gas-spring monitor arm. I've had them since July and they're still working great, I have 3 with 2x 21" and 1x27" monitors. Leaves way more room on my desk and makes it really easy to reconfigure my screens to put one in portrait or whatever. Best random accessory upgrade I've done yet!

So I went from a large Roccat Sense I bought at Best Buy to this Glorious PCMR from Amazon. Man is this thing HUGE but its great quality and I never worry about having enough space. I'm using a really old, shitty desk purchased from Walmart like ~10 years ago and have 0 problems with stability. I was worried for a little while that it was going to just tip one day or even just break the desk but it's been going strong for about ~1.5 years now.

Here's the mount I'm using...

I have a 27" QNIX and a 22" Asus mounted to it and it's been nothing short of perfect. The arms can be titled and move horizontally but the height isn't very adjustable, at least not easily. You basically set it to the height based on pre-drilled holes on the vertical standing arm (the part that mounts to the desk) and just stick a screw in to hold it there. If you want to adjust height you'll have to remove the screw and likely take the monitors off before sliding it up/down. If you want something that's easily adjustable in height, you'll be spending more in the ~75-100$ range as opposed to ~40$ for a less-dynamic model.

It sounds like you may just have a single monitor though... If you have no plans to add another then I'd just get something like the Amazon Basics for 99$ or the Mount-It! for 39$.

The Amazon model gives you pretty much the maximum adjust-ability but it's a bit pricey (not really, other mounts are just cheap). The single arm Mount-It! I linked is a little more adjustable on-the-fly than my personal mount I posted earlier but costs about the same as the dual-mount.

Also, I use a sit-to-stand desk at work and love it. I get pain in my lower back from my terrible posture and generally can't sit still too long without getting up to walk around a bit. Being able to stand and work whenever really helped limit my back pain and I love being able to move about. The downside is that they're pretty damn expensive... For a reference, we have Ergotrons where I work.

If I had to guess I'd say it was this model specifically. That whole 'desk' mounts on your actual computer desk and can be raised/lowered and adjusted in all sorts of positions.

edit and now that you've got me looking into all of this again, I'm thinking of upgrading to something more adjustable like the Amazon Basics mount but a dual-monitor version. IMO just skip the cheaper model and get something more dynamic like the Amazon mount.

this is what i use with my x34, not the cheapest arm but not too expensive either. there are also versions with shorter poles, but i wanted the taller one so i could get the monitor higher up off the desk as i was using stacked monitors for a time.

it holds it up perfectly though, tons of adjustments and is very solid, basically no shaking when i type or do anything. of course having a solid desk plays a part there too.

Instead of using a swing arm to mount the center stick I'm going to build a center console out of mdf that either leg will go around. I looked into base extensions and that's just too much work. Plus with a console I can rig up custom control similar to how you have the two extra switches (which are mad sexy btw).

I've wanted to mount LCDs behind my MFDs. Initially I was going to use 2xASUS memopads(100$ each) and run a PC monitor extender to them or use ROCCAT. I like your method, seems cheaper and smoother.

Again.. Jag, you beat me to the punch on the HUD, well in your case Targeting computer. I was going to implement a HUD akin to the F-16 or any real world fighter with the same concept you employed. LCD lay flat, 45' plexi reflect image. I was hoping to use it with raw game data if thats available in the future.

One different aspect Im doing is an HDMI, peripheral switcher. No matter how much I've tried to make it comfortable, the FPS just doesnt work in the cockpit. So I'm migrating my gaming rig out of the cockpit via HDMI switches and perif switches. At my main desk I have an old gaming PC that I use for less graphic intense stuff. They will both parallel the desk monitor and the desk keyb/mouse. Upon hitting the switches the star citizen rig will become active and taking over those devices so I can FPS more comfortably.

Funny bit is that when I exit the ship in game... I actually have to exit my cockpit and sit at my desk :p

Yea, 30-40 is not that expensive for a stand. If 30-40 is out of your budget, then I’d understand. You get what you pay for in my opinion. If you have the stock stand, i’d just stick with that. If it is too expensive to buy a new one, i’d just stick it out, wait, and save until it is within your means. Better safe than sorry!

Razer Blade: I give a thumbs up. Have seen people saying some pretty good things about it. The screen thing though... To my knowledge that isn't really a thing... that I know of at least. Maybe the people over at r/SuggestALaptop might be able to help you out with that. My suggestion to you would be to use like a docking station that is one cable to your laptop (USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C w/ Thunderbolt) and have that run three monitors on a monitor arm like this (remember the monitors would need to have vesa mounting capabilities to do this) and roll with a setup like that for home use and just use one screen while you are on the go. Hope that helps a little and feel free to ask questions.

That will make it look great and a triple monitor would definitly make a difference. I would center the monitors and use some cable management.
And I saw this on YouTube video recently that made a clean look. It's a big mouse pad that makes come together.
Also I can see that you got a headset on the desk, I would recommend that headset stand. These small details will definitely make a clean and elegant look so the desk really can shine and stand out.

Ergotech Triple Desk Stand with Telescopic Wings (100-D16-B03-TW)

I'm reasonably happy with it but be aware that the base is very big so you kind of need a deep desk to make it work well (IMO!). I'm not sure if it will work well on your desk.

However, I did want to say that you should get the next size up stand for whatever your monitor size is. For example, if it says "support up to three 21" displays" consider it too small for you and get the stand that support three 24" monitors (unless you just want all three monitors in a straight line). If you want to be able to angle the outside monitors, you will need the ability to extend them just a bit further.

I own 2 mice, Logitech G502 and G602. I use the wireless G602 most of the time, and break out the Proteus Core for more intense or competitive FPS games.

I prefer the extended sized mouse pads because I like the aesthetic of having both the mouse and keyboard on the same mat, as well as extra room for your phone or game controller.
This was my first mousepad. I've not really anything to compare it to. I do like the thickness/weight of the pad, and the stitched edges prevent fraying. However, I do wish the logo was not so intrusive.

I'm a huge fan of Corsair's peripherals. I'm using a Scimitar mouse and K70 RGB keyboard right now. Never had any quality issues myself, but their customer support is superb. I really like their aesthetic.

Logitech is a solid choice if you like their products. Personally I'm not into it, but I don't care for "gamer" stuff in general.

As for audio, I wouldn't recommend a headset of any kind. Personally, I use a pair of AKG K553 Pros, a FiiO E10K DAC/amp, and an Audio Technica AT2020 mic. That said, I understand that not everyone cares about audio as much as I do. If you're happy with the sound quality of your Krakens, you could get most any Logitech, Corsair, SteelSeries, etc. headset in the same price range and get comparable results.

This is the mouse pad I use. I don't care about flashy lights or fancy designs, I just wanted a large mouse pad.

3mm is plenty. However if that's a deal breaker I get it, just an awesome price and product if you are not needing that extra 2mm of thickness which IMHO is too much. If you seek more cushion than 3mm an auxiliary wrist rest would better suit you and facilitate that overall comfort/ergonomics without having a extra heavy thick mousepad on the whole surface instead of just where its needed.

You're going to call me dumb when I tell you this but, I don't run in surround. I think the idea is cool, but the interface is shotty at best. I'll explain. So normally I game on the middle monitor with a stream up on my right monitor and something to read on the left. The surround doesn't have "true" maximize so the windows are basically maximized but still show the border, that annoys me.

As far as the monitors, I love them, albeit I'd like to replace them for the BenQ 24" 120hz.

For me, the case is a sign of power. When I was much younger, my first job was at a computer shop and one of the guys there had a really big case with all kinds of badassery inside and ever since I started making money and building awesome gaming rigs, I've always got a big case.

I think this organizer is pretty amazing. Its all elastic cords woven together and you can stick all kinds of things in there and they are secure. It's great for travel because it can hold all of your chargers and small devices, pens and pads of paper, various office supplies, whatever you need to do. And you can just throw it in your briefcase, purse, or carry on and everything is secure and organized. Love it!

Yep, I share it with my boyfriend. We both spend a lot of time on the computer at home (working, playing games, redditing), so it was really important to us to have a proper workspace.

We wound up buying two matching monitors (because I'm pedantic like that) and mounting them on one of these. The mount is clamped to the desk itself, which was important, because I didn't want to mount them to the wall, nor drill holes into my table. And the articulating arms allow us to push the screens back against the wall whenever we have friends over so that we can use the whole table top.

Our laptops, miscellany papers and other things that are plugged into the monitors are all underneath the table on two wire IKEA rolling cabinets.

I absolutely love, love, love our setup. We don't distract each other while we're working because our line of vision is blocked by our screens, but we're close enough to play footsies. We have the whole length of the dining table to work, but everything tucks away whenever we have people over for dinner.

My only complaint, is that our monitors have to stay at the same height because of the monitor mount, so sometimes we bicker about the screens being too high (him) or too low (me), based on the way we sit. Not a deal breaker though, for all the other benefits the set up provides. I'm sure that if I weren't lazy I would also be able to find a setup that has independent height setups.

I personally wouldn't recommend a Hackintosh unless you are willing to learn a little bit on your own, or have a friend who can help out. The problems with a prebuilt machine from a random entity are:

• Returns may be a pain, unless he provides you with receipts and everything required for all manufacturer warranties. Even in these cases, you need to take out parts and handle the process yourself.
  
  
• Updates can sometimes cause issues (not often, but they can) and if you don't have a rough understanding of things you could end up with a computer that isn't working and no idea how to fix it.
  
  
• Applecare - with an iMac you have the option of a solid warranty, and you can basically just bring the computer to an apple store to get it fixed with very little frustration or questions. I'm not saying you need the applecare, but it is a nice option for many.
  
  
• The resale value of an iMac will decrease over time, but it is still relatively easy to sell an iMac. Custom computers are much harder to sell, and often lose value much faster.
  
  
• This build doesn't have thunderbolt, which is very handy over time.
  
  
  This is obviously your decision, I just know from experience that I have had to extract data from my hackintosh, and reinstall everything because I managed to screw something up with an update. If I had purchased the computer it would have been frustrating to still end up doing al the work despite spending $300-400 extra to avoid it.
  
  If you do go this route and want a monitor suggestion, I really love LG's 34UM95. It is a 34" 3440x1440 res monitor with great picture quality. You need to hook it up via display port or thunderbolt (this build has display port) to get the full res at 60hz, but it is definitely worth the money. I use mine with an ergotron LX monitor arm with the tall arm (see http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00689HXI4)

I recommend a credit card holder like this for sock drawer cards.

As far as the CSP, wait until the annual fee posts, then call to either cancel or PC it to a no annual fee card like the Chase Freedom or Chase Freedom Unlimited (both of which have ways to earn bonus points). The annual fee will be refunded if you PC within 30-41 days.

Also, if you don't have any other premium Chase cards such as CSR or CIP, then make sure you transfer out any UR to any transfer partners before getting rid of the CSP.

I've got the Perixx DX-2000XXL. It's big enough for my mouse and keyboard to comfortably fit, and to provide a bit of cushion for my wrists. Super grippy bottom and nicely stitched edges.

It's been easy to clean (doesn't really pick up much dust/dirt) and was pretty cheap compared to some of the other offerings.

Its not exactly the same size but its still pretty big and the best part is that it doesnt have the logo. It's pretty solidly made and looks like it will hold up a long time.

I had the same problem, and I now use a superwide desk mat under both my keyboard and mouse. Mine was discontinued, but it's very similar to this one that I've been hearing really good things about.

Added benefit of being super comfortable on your wrists/forearms when typing or gaming.

They are a bit more expensive, but ErgoTech makes some amazingly solid mounts. great cable management, adjustable in just about every way, and can be free standing. This one seems to fit your bill for about $180 on Amazon:

Its really good and saves you alot of space and looks nice. I'm not going back from using one. I agree with what Phazon_Metroid said, that if you want to move them its gonna be a hassle, but Im getting older and dont go to LAN's like ever anymore :)

This is what I end up getting, its a bit bulky but definitely good quality. Perfectly fits my blade & charger, deathader mouse, mouse pad and a GRID-IT. Also has a molle system for pouches if you'd like.

Well, personally I'd recommend to not use a wrist rest at all. But~~ if I were to use one, I'd go with something like this:

Now, I'm not sure about the strafe, but my original K70 wrist rest fits on my K70 LUX. It's a little looser than the one that came with the K70 LUX, but it still works. Maybe see if you can find the replacement wrist rest from somewhere that's easy to return it to. Try it, see if it works, return if it doesn't. Not sure how I can help other than this, but good luck!

Those are just the ones that I got. They make them for larger monitors as well. My largest monitor is a 27".

I have a triple monitor setup and use one of these mounts for each monitor. I can adjust all three monitors independently. I was also able to independently adjust the mounting location of each arm because they're each separate units. I, like you, have three non-matching monitors. Using three of these should accommodate the issue you've described. IMO, having three mounts is better than a single, triple monitor mount because of the versatility in placement and adjustment for each monitor. They're only $20, too. Another thing I really like about them is that the desk mounting hardware comes with two options: clamp (for edge clamping) and bolt on (for more secure and permanent desk mounting). They also have a very small footprint and so they take up very little desktop real estate. I'm very happy with these mounts and I highly recommend them.

It holds my 34" (~22 pounds) and my 27" (not sure). They both FIT in landscape too, but just BARELY and with about a 15 degree angle. 29 would defintiely fit. Its very sturdy, I have to really tigthen up the screws that allow for adjusting the monitor tilt but your 29" will probably weigh less than the max 22 pound

consider something like that or two singles.. I still haven't decided which would be better but I'm happy with mine

I like the design, one suggestions why not switch over to the OLOV Leg just in case your floor or carpet is not level. I've had great luck with 6 of these legs making my desk rock solid.
 
Also I had used a similar shelf design to support my monitors but eventually went to a pole mount setup, The shelf limited the height of the items I could put under it and I really like having the open space

Mouse pad is so worth the money and its a mouse pad alot of pros use, Its so smooth and just perfect you can wash it easily just by putting it in the washing machine on cold setting and air drying it out (just lay it on the back of a chair or something) I would highly recommend it and its a HUGE mouse pad too.

I'm not going to say a wrist rest will solve all of your problems, but I have a Ducky Zero and it does sit a bit high. I got this wrist pad and it all feels a lot better. Granted, I don't have the Shine 3, but I have used it and with this pad it feels great. It may or may not solve your problems, but give it a shot as well as inverting the spacebar. I've never had that problem, I guess I hit the spacebar different than you, but we all type differently.

shiny or glossy surfaces could cause an issue, have you tried a mouse pad or other surface, it is good to have a surface that has bits/stripes of dark and light to get a good interference pattern

If you really like that pad, you could "resurface" it with a 3M Precise Optical Mousing surface. They're really thin and they have an adhesive backing (not permanent adhesive; it may or may not stick well to a fabric surface. It sticks great to wood and glass for me, though). So you could just stick it on and trim it to fit the shape of your favored pad. Best of both worlds?

It's theKazaira extended mouse pad. It's a little thicker than normal mouse pads, which is nice, and it doesn't have any logo distracting my more minimal look. I'm glad you like your set up! It's awesome for sure! :)

I recommended these Mount it! brand monitor arms in another thread here the other day. I found them from seeing it in someones battlestation pictures and with his recommendation to someone I purchased a double and single arm for my triple 27" setup.

Pros:
Fantastic value,

light padding on the part that gets clamped to the desk(so no desk scratches),

Cons:
It takes some time and an allen key to get each individual joint to move in fluid manner with respect to your preference in being able to pull/push and rearrange them at will.

As for the TV I don't know what the mounting pattern is on your TV nor the weight. Those are two things you should check out before you order the mounts

I just received the glass stand and I like it a lot, used it to raise up my monitor and free up space for my keyboard and my backup HDD. It'd fit/look a whole lot better than that silly AC retail box ;)

Since Razer was brought up, as it usually is, my experience with a Vespula has been good. It has two surface styles, one slick and the other with light texture. The whole thing is at a nice height for both work and play, but the mouse surface and wrist rest are separate so you can do without if preferred. The one negative (other than the name) is the wrist rest decal, which will peel off in chunks given half a chance. I don't know what they were thinking with that. Will it improve your game? Hard to say, but I think you'll find it nice to have a quality, dedicated space available when spending that much time with a mouse.

I also own a Logitech mx518 and it's been solid as well. The key feature is being able to adjust the sensitivity on the fly.

All monitors have to run at the same resolution, so you would have to run the center monitor at 1080p when playing in surround. If it's a different size than the other two, it will be difficult to arrange them so the edges line up smoothly. You'd have to have the side monitors significantly closer/further away than the center to make things transition smoothly from the center to the sides. It may not bother you, but even having my side monitors slightly off broke the whole "window" effect for me. I bought this stand, and it's been decent enough. The base is a bit cheap, you have to get a bit rough with the arms to get them perfectly symmetrical, but it works great once it's set up. If I had it to do over again, I might have gone with something like this, then used a separate arm for the top monitor.

This One is pretty excellent for the price, i've had it nearly 2 years now and the edges still aren't fraying or coming apart at all, mouse tracking is great and it takes nicely to being cleaned with some warm water and soap... really can't beat it for 12 bucks.

I had to make a custom wood piece to get around a metal bar under the table, and disperse the clamping force from the 2 screws. Since this is a glass table i did not want to clamp directly to the glass. Just some particle board and screws. For the cabling, i utilized the built in wire supports on the mount arms, and black zip ties. Kind of a rats nest underneath the table, but i tried to clean it up as best i could compared to how it was before.

My monitor mount is something like the - supplied by my work so not sure the exact product.

Those monitors don't look identical, but you MAY be able to flip all 3 vertical and create a DIY ultrawide situation. That would give you more horizontal desk space so the TV isn't so crowded.

This one has arms you can adjust, but only horizontally (and tilt), you couldn't change any heights.

Same story with this one, but arguably easier to ensure things are more aligned. (This is what I use for 2 monitors that aren't identical and it works well enough.)

This one would let you play with heights, but is 2x the price of the others for that reason.

This was me playing with the idea of 2 horizontal and 1 vertical.

Hi! I'd definitely recommend a mount, as it clears up a great deal of desk space. I'll post a link to the one I got off Amazon below. As far as mounting it, if you have the exact same desk then the mount/clampdown screws should line up perfectly with the metal frame under the desk on any of the corners. It can be clamped to the desk but also screwed through the desk. I think that's what you want.

I am just not entirely sure if it will support the weight of the AW. Until today i had a LG 34UM65-P on it and that worked perfectly, no sagging or anything like that. Didn't try it yet with my new X34P which just arrived today. But i am quite positive it will work with that as well. And i guess the AW has a similar weight.

I love the northern bayou, I really do but I loved the aesthetic of this more because the monitor hides the mount almost completely. The northern bayou is probably best bang for your buck, considering the amazonbasics mount I have for my ultrawide ran me about 100$ usd. I use the bayou now for my pc workshop, so its still in use.

My favorite feature is the mouse and keyboard are on the same surface so the keyboard doesn't keep hitting the edge of the mouse pad when I game.

I have one of these and would recommend it, if there is a way to remove the monitor mounting from the desk. Obviously there is a massive footprint on the desk, however there are other options available as I am sure you are aware. But that would be my two cents, again best of luck. :)

I have this wallet for my mass storage, it works very well and I am happy with it.

I think what you want is an Ergotron LX Mount but they're pretty pricey. HOWEVER, there are unbranded ones (branded by HP, but totally 100% ergotron) for almost half the price here. I have 3 of them and they support my giant Crossover 27Q. I can go from portrait to landscape just by grabbing the monitor and spinning it. I highly recommend them.

You also may want to check out some of the Monoprice offerings here for even less money. I had the dual one for around 60$, but it only moved side to side- not up and down.

I recommend looking on Amazon.com at brands like Vivo, Mount-It, and AmazonBasics for good mounts for reasonable prices.

Once you go VESA mounted you never go back, so worth it man. I have my TV mounted on a VESA arm for playing Halo/Xbox, and my work desk has double monitor setup is VESA mounted too and it's worth the cleaness and space saving.

Did 5 weeks last year with the Farpoint 40 because I was looking to avoid all issues with my luggage.

Carry right on flights, wear it around for hours if needed, climbing stone steps without dragging traditional luggage, keep my hands free, etc.

I have these. They are excellent quality, and incredibly sturdy. The pictures don't do it justice. When you see it in person you'll understand how heavy-duty they are. I used these to hold two 27" monitors up and it was excellent. Great value for money.

Hi, if you don't mind me asking, where did you find that desk? I've been looking for one like it for some time.

a.) I'd suggest a quality headset stand. Massdrop has them on sale fairly regularly, although if you have Prime you can probably pick one up relatively cheaply (less than $40 US, I believe). I'm actually using my Blue Yeti as a headset stand and it works famously.

b. I'd suggest a taupe/light beige, since it would fit with the table, and leave your possibilities open if you end up getting another desk or if you want to change the room into something else. Saves you from having to re-paint at least.

c. I personally have a monitor arm that mounts to the desk. It's an Ergotron Neo-Flex, but I wouldn't really recommend it. Not a lot of articulation since it's a mechanical hinge instead of a gas hinge like this one I was looking at before I found mine in my dad's office. Almost all of them will require a Vesa mount, but those are pretty common on Asus monitors. Even my low end 22" has one. Plus it'll free up a little real-estate on your desk for a headset stand/microphone if you want one.

I have this mousepad and I'm loving it. I forgot the username of the person who sells it, but I bought it because I saw it on this sub. Anyway, I like it a lot and I especially love how it doesn't have a logo.

Check out the rests from Grifiti. They come in various lengthus and help get your hand in better position. I have a few and sometimes I even stack two to get my wrists super elevated.

Obviously doesn't compete with high end mounts. Maxes out at 9" over my desk with a 24" monitor, which I wish was a little higher, but it seems like most issues people have with these are with obtuse instructions. Considering it is made in china, and sold by unknown brand, I was pleasantly surprised by it's sturdiness.

I use this SteelSeries Mousepad, and I absolutely love it 100%. It's high quality, has a great feel, and is the perfect thickness for me. For your setup, I'm actually thinking you could rock an XL pad that goes under both your mouse and keyboard. While SteelSeries does have a couple basic XL and XXL mousepads, you could always get a Corsair pad, or go and get yourself something RGB. Totally see where you're coming from in terms of not finding any that you like. I know that you can probably get one custom made, or something with a design that complements your case/controller color schemes. Just a couple ideas to get you started, but I feel like it will end up being a simple, yet highly impactful, addition to your setup.

Definitely these - they make a large difference:

Monitor mounts - frees up a bunch of desk space and lets you tilt/rotate/move closer etc

Large mouse mat - much better than having to line up your keyboard or be restricted to a small pad

Microphone boom arm - cheap and gets the mic up off the desk freeing up space. Pair this with a pop filter and it even looks ok

Then obviously the main peripherals like audio, kb/m, monitors, desk, chair, etc

Yeah played promod and cpma tons back in the day. I don't think my sens is that slow either lol, for CSGO I use a 1 at 800 DPI and the 2.8 here is much faster than that.

I have the exact same CaseLogic bag, but I only carried it for about 6 months. It was super awkward, and if you forget to do up the little Velcro zipper stop tags, the whole front of the bag can come open and dump your stuff all over. I had a rolling bag for a bit, but it annoyed me, since I travel a lot of non-paved or cobblestone places, and I felt like it was bouncing things around.

My hubs finally convinced me to invest a little (less than $100 on sale) in an Epiphanie bag, which doesn't look like a camera bag at all, gets no second glances when I travel, and works as a functional carrying piece when I don't have my cameras. That, in conjunction with one of these, has done a lot to focus my gear list and travel style.

To note, I've been trying to streamline the amount of stuff I carry when I travel, and only bust out the big cargo stuff when I do stationary shoots. I find that carrying a bunch of stuff distracts from my enjoyment, as I spend more time worrying about the right equipment than just simply framing and shooting. It helps that some of the best shots I have are on my phone, from when I didn't have my gear at all. :)

I have had this for a little over a year and I have loved it. It lets me move them with easy and running the cables through the main tube part means I can have great cable management.

I actually just got it from an old job, and it dosent have any branding but from a quick search it looks like it could be this one on amazon. It's OK but its hard to get the monitor as close to the wall as I'd like it.

To add about the wrist pad, get one that's about the height of your keyboard so your wrists won't fall into a weird angle causing stress, which I've noticed a lot of the stock wristpads that come with keyboards do cause your wrists to do.This one is pretty good. I got it on sale for about $6.

Another good one is this. They both sit about as high as a standard keyboard so you won't be causing any strain on your wrists.

A mouse-pad with a cushion may also help you, like this. It all comes down to preference though, as I like flat, large mousepads, but these can help reduce strain and keep your wrist straight.

I really appreciate it, I'm going to go with something close to your build. So I talked with him today, and he said "Can we find a thinner monitor? I’d be willing to sacrifice some size for that, or increase price.?" I'm going to set him up with a three monitor stand like this one, (have to do some research on it first.)

I don't think he appreciates the IPS, although I know he'd prefer it. The one he uses now is 1600x900 Acer 20-Inch LCD,, which I probably wouldn't use in the new build. (Others in the office would love another monitor.)

You can get a stationery monitor mount, which allows you to pull the screen closer, tilt, and rotate, but doesn't allow individual height adjustment for each monitor such as this.


Or you can get three individual mounts, which allow full mobility (up, down, closer, farther, & rotate) such as this.

There's double/triple versions of these as well. Double. Or Triple.

They are pretty solid but still pretty soft and have a kind of neoprene feel to them. As I said above I only had them for about a day now but I like them so far.

I have dual sticks, not have a HOTAS, but I think my setup is still relevant.

I've been toying with the idea of making fold-away holders for my sticks that attach to my chair but it's probably a pipe-dream. I use my computer and desk mainly for work... so any solution has to be removable or tucked away for non-playtime. But until then... this is how I do it:

A year or so ago, someone on this sub suggested Scotch Restickable Dots. I attach 3-4 to the base of each stick and plant them firmly on the mouse pad. I also have many under the mouse pad to keep it secured to the desk top.

Works well for me. I simply pick up the sticks and put them off to the side when I'm done. I remove the Dots from the bases and put them on top of the bases to keep them from sticking to the desk elsewhere. I also cover my sticks when not in use (I have cats)... so the Dots remain fairly clean.

Oh, and the Dots are washable... so you can "refresh" them if they loose their stickiness.

This is the stand I am currently using, It works great for me and the center mast is hollow with holes in it to run cables through so cable management is pretty easy.

Thanks! Yeah the different size monitors are far from ideal for multi monitor gaming, but it's not so bad. What I do is set the game to windowed mode, then stretch the window to the dimensions of my screen. Due to my center screen being taller in resolution than my outer monitors, some stuff gets cut off the top and bottom on the side monitors. It's not really an issue, but some games do have their huds on the top and bottom corners. So you have to watch out for that. Running a setup like this though you can not setup EyeFinity or nVidia Surround as the differing resolutions mess it up. But Live for Speed and all Codemasters racing games support the windowed method I've listed. Any other game I just run single screen.

My stand is a VIVO Triple Monitor Stand (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S7ALH8). If you're looking into doing a triple monitor setup, I would not suggest this stand. I've had my share of problems with it and I can not get my side monitors to sit height centered with my main (so alignments are a bit off in games). Good triple stands are expensive. Once the summer rolls around I'm going to build my own mount to solve my problems.

I wouldn't reccomend the 400C in any variant, and the 460x/570x don't have a great internal design either. They're not really very easy to cable manage in, the radiator support is extremely limited (you can realistically can't fit a 360mm in without removing the mechanical drive bay entirely. S340 Elite wasn't much better, no top radiator support is far from ideal.

I'd take a look at something like the Define R6 in white. Doesn't have the front glass but has much better cable routing and options for HDDs to be installed. All white version won't be out until 3/7/18 but it might be worth it from what I've seen.

I've loved this Vivo triple monitor mount. Iirc it supports up to 27" monitors, and once you adjust & tighten the arms it's fantastic.

I'm using one with a similar design to this one, and I'm very much satisfied. It says it supports up to 24", but if I'm not wrong, those are some dell 25" with tiny bezels to fit well below the 24" max size.

The only downside is that it doesn't have any tabs or anything for quickly turning to a particular "group" of cards, so I just used some sticky notes. It has a great feel to it after it's loaded up and I'll probably need a second one real soon now.

That would be the razer Vespula. Spendy but I really like it a lot. It's got a two layer system with a rubberized mat underneath, and the mouse surface sits on top, so it doesn't move around at all, and provides a really nice anchor point for your wrist (the wrist rest is attached to the rubberized layer).

This is the one I use and it does a pretty good job. The only thing is it's super heavy so I would get a desk that can support it and sadly the ikea linnmon can't just by itself

I have the Ergotech and I love it.

Very stable, easy to adjust, and the quick release clips for the two side monitors is very handy for when I need to pack the stand up and transport it.

I have two of these and they're great. Looks overall very similar to the Rosewill model, except this one supports up to 14.3lbs, whereas the Rosewill only supports up to 13.2lbs. This one has gone on sale for $20 pretty regularly -- I bought both of mine at this price on separate occasions.

A wrist rest keeps me comfortable when I'm using the computer for extended periods of time.

I also use these headphone holders, they are cheap and mount with doublesided tape, and they'll hold just about any headphones you can find.

Another thing that many people don't think about, but can make a massive difference, is monitor placement. VESA Arm mounts are great for having monitors placed where you want them, while also letting you shift them around when you need to.

They are both IPS displays and coincidentally they both use the same 23" LG IPS panel. So... beyond a few case differences (The Eizo lacks tilt, swivel and height adjustment) and some calibration they will both wind up looking exactly the same. Whatever monitor you prefer and who offers the better price will be the ultimate factor. You should be able to score the 23"" Dells for around $230/ea

Once you have Eyefinity, you will never go back. Some of the older games require 5-20minutes worth of work but the experience is worth it.

This one seems pretty reliable. I don't know however, as I've only stuck with one monitor, but from the reviews it seems pretty good.

The other guy is incorrect. My mouse is a Razer Deathadder, and my mousepad is a Perixx DX-2000XXL. I just got the mouse pad a few weeks ago, and love it. For $20 it's the best mouse pad I've ever seen!

Here's my input along with links to products.

1. Put the bed on risers to add storage space.
   
2. Make a headboard for your bed. If you're handy, this can be done cheaply. If you're not handy, you can buy one for a reasonable price.
   
3. Can the dresser and the desk be swapped? If so, put the desk next to the bed so that you don't wake up to a wall to your right and so you can look out the window while working at your desk. The desk can also serve as a bedside table.
   
4. Mount the monitors on the wall to free up desk space. Here are a couple options - two singles and a double.
   
5. Re-do the shelves. They have a very garage feel. Some cheap board from the hardware store to even out the sides would make a real difference.
   
6. Put at least a picture above the bed on the side that's to your left while sleeping. It should be longer than it is tall. Scenery is good. I have this in my bedroom and I like the effect.
   
7. Mount the guitar on the wall.

I just commented on someone else's post about this as well, but if you want a little stand that will allow you to move your desktop to the floor, allowing for more desk space, here is what i use. It's meant for monitors but works perfectly for a tower.

If you put the monitor on a $35 free-moving arm you can freely adjust the distance, orientation, etc.

I own a SteelSeries Sensei and I want a Razer Vespula Dual-Sided Gaming Mouse Mat and I want a Corsair Vengeance K70 Black Cherry MX Brown (Though it comes with Red and Blue switches as well).

I can recommended the SteelSeries Sensei, it is one of the best gaming mice I have ever owned. Don't let anybody fool you, nobody needs 8200dpi (coughcoughRazercoughcough). The average top-tier professional gamer uses their mouse at an average of 3200 dpi. Not even considering the fact that dpi is not even a good measure of mouse movement. That being said... the Sensei feels great as long as you have a palm style holding. If you have a claw-grip style of holding your mouse, I recommend the RAT7 or RAT9, avoid the RAT5 it's awful.

Very nice! Now all you need is 2 more for surround! And this helps a lot! :)

...or whatever the biggest one is that that company makes. It has held up well over the past few months, protects the wood desk, and was pretty cheap. If they made a truly fullsize one i'd get it.

Ergotech makes some great stands I think would work for you. They aren't clamp style so they take up a bit more space, but you only have 1 base on your desk instead of multiple.

They also have a triple monitor stand that I would probably recommend above it. You can still only mount 2 monitors if you want. Just move the mounts further towards the joint on the wings to accommodate your monitor size. The real reason I recommend it though is the base is completely flat, so even though it takes up some desk space, that space is still relatively usable because it is just a flat piece of sheet metal.

Cocoon Grid-It organizer. It's rather cheap and especially useful if you use different bags like a messenger bag for school and a backpack for a bit longer travels. You can easily attach stuff you need once in a while to the grid and just throw it to another bag.

Currently my grid-it contains a USB-stick, couple cables, one of those Victorinox card multitools, a powerbank and a pen. When I'm traveling overnight I add a toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. 5/5 would buy again.

That looks like a low priced knock-off of this Perixx DX-2000 XXL Mouse Pad. Same size, thickness, and even the seems around the edge are stitched similarly.

I would argue that the extended size Perixx is one of the best looking pads around. Certainly better than that god awful Razer pad.

As for the quality, I have the "Large" version, which is quite a nice pad. Feels good, there isnt any extra resistance when moving the mouse, nor is there too little resistance. It's got the same clean look. The only real downside I have with it, is that it rather minimally slides around on my desk as I have it positioned. Although a simple readjustment and that problem is remedied. The huge extended size one I doubt would have that issue, seeing as it is massive and should get stuck in place.

This is one of the more cheaper options. You have pretty good options on how you can mount it, and they're fairly solid in terms of build quality.

Just make sure your monitors are VESA compatible.

If you're starved on desk space with your multiple-monitor setup, it's definitely worth it.

How rough is your desk? Try using your mouse without the pad to see if it works properly.

The new mouse pad is obviously a problem, so you're going to need to replace it with something.

this mouse pad claims to be specifically for laser mice. The reviews are pretty positive too.

if you don't want to buy a new mousepad, you could just lay a piece of paper over it or your desk, or you could use cloth if you want something more comfortable.

If you have a Goodwill nearby, you should definitely check it out for purses. You'd be surprised by the gems you can find there!

As for saving space in your purse, you should get a Grid-it. Extra pockets in purses (that you may not even use!) usually just add extra bulk. You can really make the most out of your purses with these organizers. You can probably make one yourself if you're strapped for cash.

Edit: This is an absolute lifesaver. Comes with a pen, scissors, tweezers, toothpick, screw drivers, nail file, flash light, magnifying glass, and a ruler, and it all fits in your wallet! Got mine at TjMaxx a few years ago and I've been carrying it around with me ever since.

It's great, will hold up to 27" screens and the outside arms tilt in as well as the mounts the actual monitors are on so there is plenty of angle. You can also turn them to portrait view if you would like.

Also the little knobs on top of the outside monitor mounts will move the outside screens up or down independently of the other screen so you can adjust as needed.

Ikea sells poles that can be friction fit to the ceiling. Find a monitor mount you can MacGyver to it and you're all set. The older poles (Stolmen) they used to sell were cylindrical and a basic monitor mount from Amazon fit it nearly perfectly. All that was required was to insert the plastic inserts that came with the anchors that were used to attach shelving and such.. I think the new ikea poles ones are square shaped... You could always buy a stripper pole to make it work or find an old Ikea Stolman pole on craigslist.

You can also use two poles for much larger screens. Even the new system would work with this method.

I have it hanging down from the front of my desk and it's very sturdy. The velcro is also extremely secure, I can rotate the sticks so they're hanging upside down and they can stay like that for days without losing grip. Only downside is that the pole sticks out 18 inches from what it's secured to, and the fasteners stick up 5-6 inches from the surface.

Heres a good one for just the mouse. Here is a pretty large one. This looks like one that you can use for the entirety of your keyboard and mouse.

I wanted to go with one of those, but I currently have a glass desk and didn't think those would mix well. If you ever look for a tri stand, there are basically two that can handle 3 24"s: a reasonably priced one, and a really expensive one. I got the former and have been very happy with it.
