CW: Previous loss mentioned

Cycle: Trying since April 2017

Ovulation cycle day: 13

Relevant BD/BD method: Husband coins the phrase "Fuck week" method. Sex every night from CD8 to CD16.

Tracking methods and apps used:

First cycle using Ava bracelet. 🙄 I used FF for a long while but over time started to genuinely despise temping. Temp drops would send me into downward spirals in the wee hours of the morning. My husband started to resent FF. My cycles were very regular and since I knew I typically ovulated between CD 12-14 (thanks to FF), we adopted fuck week protocol and stopped with temping some months back. I would encourage anyone starting out to jump right into temping because I regret not starting sooner but would also encourage anyone to stop it if it's making you miserable.

As for the Ava, I had an abandoned HSA account from an old job with a few hundred bucks and (for whatever reason) it's too big of a pain to merge it with my current HSA so I've been running it down. Ava is kind of neat but I assure you, you do not need this thing. It's overpriced for what it does, imo.

Symptom spotting:

Nipples were mildly tingly but they were last cycle too so I didn't put much stock into it. Bloated and gassy before BFP but still did not register until after the fact.

Day of positive test(s): 14 DPO (CD 27)

I'm away on business travel this week and next. I got my BFP in a hotel bathroom alone on Wednesday morning. Thanks to the huge bathroom mirror, I got to see the big smile on my face. 😊

BFP stands for big faint positive in my case because the line was there but no where near as dark as the control. I brought a few cheapie ClinicalGuard tests from Amazon with me on this trip. I took another test CD16 (Friday) and it was still faint as the first. Que deep panic setting in. Turns out there's a number of reviews on Amazon warning not to use these for line progression purposes. I have a FRER at home I can take when I get back. Debating if I should get a Clearblue Digital while I'm down here to show hubs when he picks me up from the airport later this week. 🤔 🤷

I had a miscarriage at 6 wks this year in April and had a very faint line on a FRER at DPO 16 then. Nothing like prior miscarriage to rob the joy of a positive pregnancy test. (This is why the faint line has me so terrified.)

I did get a fucking grip after I read this article so panic averted for now. A faint positive is still a positive. The line on a home pregnancy test isn't going to tell you if you will carry to term. It's just pregnant: true/false. Embracing the "today, I am pregnant" mentality and cherishing the bloat, gas, and increasingly sore boobs.

Supplements and medications:

NatureMade Prenatal Multi+DHA

NatureMade CoQ10 100 mg

NatureMade D3 25 mcg (1000 IU)

Now Fish Oil DHA 500/EPA 250

Husband was also taking the same only swap the prenatal with a Men's One-a-Day vitamin. We've been on this regimen for a while now. Hubs also takes Adderall.

Birth control history, if relevant:

Two back to back Mirenas, last one removed April 2017. Had not had my period for many years until ttc. Forgot how much it sucked. It took about 3 months to normalize after removal.

Typical cycle length: 27 days

Health conditions/medical tests: Sedentary and stressful office job. Otherwise healthy.

Link to chart: Ava chart

I switched to "pregnancy monitoring mode" or whatever and now I can't see what the chart looked like before that. :/ It said that I ovulated on CD 13 (Sept 26). OF COURSE, the one night I forgot to wear was a fairly critical data day CD 12.

Note that the temp rise is not very clear post ovulation. (Not as clear as I was used to on FF.)

Link to lineporn: Squinty Arrow added for husband's benefit.

Other (advice, magic secrets, freaking out, miscellaneous):

I have been stressed out to the max with my job this cycle. So much for "just relax and it will happen". 😂 That being said, I have gone through a weird attitude adjustment over the past few cycles. Hard to describe. I stopped being so negative and also stopped being overly anxious about making things perfect. I drank coffee throughout this cycle and into ttw. I tried to get up from my desk and walk everyday. I didn't consider myself out immediately just because something wasn't optimal. I read somewhere on Pinterest, "You don't need perfection to get pregnant" and it really stuck with me. In the end, conception happens on the microscopic level and how you feel about it isn't going to impact much. So you might as just go with the flow. My husband helped me see this. He really helped lift me out of my funk.

I fly home on Thursday and wouldn't you know it, hubs and I have our first appt with an RE on Friday morning. (Nuts to think I made this appointment in August.) If everything stays good by Monday (Tuesday the latest), I'm going to call to cancel or reschedule a month out and see how it goes.

I would have been due in December with the baby we lost earlier this year. Hopefully I will be far enough along to make an announcement at the family Christmas party instead. 🤞

Sending my love and best wishes to everyone reading and congrats to the other BFP posters this week! There was a long time when these threads were too hard for me to read so also sending my love to those in that place too. ❤️❤️❤️

Edit: Looks like I am heading back to that place too... 😭

You could always get these fatty acids from algae.

Here's where I get mine (I get my ALA from flaxseeds and my Omega 6s from walnuts but my DHA and EPA come from these vegcaps):

Potent Vegan Omega 3 Supplement w/ Essential Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, DHA & EPA - Vegetarian Algae based & Non GMO Time-Release Capsules - Improve Eye, Heart, & Brain Health - Better than Fish Oil - by Amala Vegan https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QCR00SW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TsAHybMGF4M3W

And here are some Amazon links to competing products so you know I'm an animal-friend and not a shill for Amala:

Happy supplementing. :)

Absolutely! Honestly, if you're not a little worried about bringing a person into the world, then you're probably not ready. That's the way I've always felt about it.

As for getting ready, now is the perfect time to pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, a Mabis basal body thermometer, and to find a good pre-natal vitamin and DHA supplement. I personally use a combination of Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal and Nordic Naturals DHA. They work well for me, and I got my period right when I expected to after getting my IUD taken out and have been regular as clockwork since.

I would also recommend signing up for FertilityFriend; it's the most common app we're all using, and does a great job of helping you keep track of your cycles. You don't have to go all in on temping (and if you choose not to, don't worry about the thermometer), but I've found it to be so helpful to keep my expectations in check rather than clinging to hope that "Maybe this period is just implantation bleeding".

But in terms of priority, I would highly recommend you pick up TCoYF, and getting started on a good pre-natal. Hope to see you around!

Those are the only supplements I take. Ideally, I'd add fish into my diet and alternate between that and chicken, but I'm a broke college student, so the fish oil is more beneficial for me at the moment, personally.

As far as the type goes, I went with this one: https://www.amazon.com/Strength-Burpless-Capsules-BioScience-Nutrition/dp/B01GV4O37E/ref=pd_nav_hcs_bia_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=3SFZK6P0G61CDQD9RN3H

I'm sure there are other brands worth getting, as long as it has enough DHA and EPA (I believe women benefit more from extra EPA than men, but don't quote me on that).

Animal is the brand of multivitamin I take. It's a pretty robust vitamin, and I have both the pills and the powder. IMO, the powder is worth it. The pills are cheaper, but you have to take a lot of them, and I'd personally rather just chug the mixture instead.

-----------------------------

From what I've read, any other supplements are only going to give you a tiny optimization. You're likely to get more out of an extra rep than any estrogen blockers, BCAA powder, or post-workout will.

I'm not an authority on the topic, of course, but that seems to be the consensus among most lifters.

u/kharlos · 2 pointsr/vegan

2 weeks ago I made a spreadsheet comparing the value of 40+ deals for vegan DHA supplements. The best deal I could find anywhere was DEVA Vegan algae DHA 200mg 90-Count from Amazon. It comes out to 24 cents a pill. The Spectrum Essentials was a little less per pill but with much less DHA per pill, making the DEVA a much better value.
I have Amazon Prime and free shipping so this is part of what made it a good deal. The prices at VitaCost are somewhat comparable, but the shipping makes it a lot pricier. You can get free shipping there too if you spend over 50$.

u/eat_vegetables · 5 pointsr/predaddit

My wife is vegetarian (newly about 2 years) and I'm vegan (9.5+ years). I'm also a registered dietitian. The majority of the meals at home are vegan (but she'll cook an egg, order a pizza, use cow's milk in her cereal time-to-time). I agree with /u/Centropomus in regards to a DHA supplement. We use Neuromins; it is a vegan DHA supplement that is recommended by my colleagues that specialize in pediatrics (most other vegan DHA contain abortifacient compounds).

For snacks, I strongly encouraging the pairing of carbohydrate/starches with a protein. This is moreso as pregnancy is an inherent insulin-resistant state . But it also aids in ensure adequate protein (essentially 20+ grams over her normal non-pregnant needs) and satiety.

We also take a vegan prenatal supplement (mostly for the iron). Overall iron needs for pregnant women are very high (27 mg). But it is commonly recommended that vegetarians (and vegans) consume 1.8x this recommendation due to the absorptive capacity of non-heme iron sources (~48 mg which is insane!). To aid in absorption, she consumes vitamin C-rich foods which influence absorption and avoids dairy products for 1-2 hours before and after (Calcium inhibits absorption of iron in the intestine). Basically, this means she drinks her chocolate almond milk (50% DV for calcium) outside of this window.

I wouldn't really worry about protein (unless she eats like shit), iron is more so a concern but can be quickly rectified by a iron supplement or vegetarian formula pre-natal vitamin. Finally, I would encourage the use of Neuromins (DHA) and other omega-3 food sources.

http://www.pcrm.org/pdfs/health/pregnancy_factsheet.pdf - This is written by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (more or less the PETA of health professionals) - It is likely geared more toward vegan diets and includes more information than necessary but basically reports most of the same as in my post.

Please feel free to PM if you have any questions. I wouldn't worry but instead learn to cook lentils (they're awesome!) and add some chickpeas into your diet.

I do not and would not recommend this type of crash dieting to my patients.

EDIT: She also takes vitamin d2 (2000 IU daily - we live up North).

u/redbiles · 2 pointsr/Supplements

you should check out black seed, nigella sativa. Super super good for you.

Fish eat krill, krill eat algae. Fish dont make omega 3s, they get them from krill, which get them from algae. Algae produce it from the sunlight. The biological rule of biomagnification shows that toxins increase up the supply chain. So the entire life of the fish it was fed thousands of krill. So, by eating the fish you are ingesting the toxins from thousands of krill. Over the lifespan of a krill, it eats thousands of algae, so by eating the krill you are ingesting the toxins from thousands of algae, including toxins from surrounding waters (oil, plastics and other chemicals the krill mistakingly ingests.) Since algae do not ingest anything, they have a lower risk of having negative things in their body. In addition, algae is grown in labs where pollution is monitored, instead of the ocean or a hatchery. Hatcheries usually are fed by outside water sources.

I take 1 capsule of https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M053IO3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 a day. So it comes out to about $11 a month. I also take 2 tbs of ground flaxseed a day and that hits the short chain omega 3 level for very cheap. When the body receives excess short chain omega 3s it can transform them into the longer chain forms such as DHA and EPA. Consuming a lot of foods with omega 3s will give you the benefits of taking the supplement.

I'm sure you could also get haritaki and ashwaganda for cheap as well, but when focusing on health the most important part is have a healthy diet. Supplements make up about 1% of what you consume, with the other 99% being breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. If looking for the best bang for your buck, track nutrition on cronometer and ensure you are close to hitting all your daily values.

u/KelleyBuckley · 3 pointsr/waiting_to_try

I'd suggest reading this article by Chris Kresser, but essentially, folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. Its not as easily absorbed and its not good in higher doses.

Because folate is rather difficult to find in prenatals, I get my prenatal multis on Amazon, as well as additional folate tabs and my DHA/EPA.

All three can be taken together and on an empty stomach. The multi is 3 times a day, folate and DHA once a day. They haven't made me nauseous or burped, although I do take the DHA with lunch, so that could be why. I WILL say the multis have a grassy/earthy smell to them, but I really like that the ingredients are natural and none of the synthetic stuff you usually find. I hope this has helped you some and if you have any other questions, please let me know! 😊

u/alittlebirdy1 · 12 pointsr/sex

Sure, I'd be happy to share the entire list. Be ye warned - it's LONG.

  • Multivitamin [general health]
  • Vitamin D3 - 1 x 5000 iu (+700 iu from multivitamin) [general health, testosterone level]
  • Fish Oil - 3 x 750 mg Omega 3 [heart health, sperm morphology]
  • Folic Acid - 2 x 400 mg (+400 mg from multivitamin) [sperm formation/morphology]
  • Zinc - 1 x 50 mg (+15 mg from multivitamin) [sperm count/motility, testosterone level]
  • Vitamin E - 1 x 400 iu (+22.5 iu from multivitamin) [sperm motility/morphology]
  • P-L-Carnitine - 1 x 750 mg [erection quality]
  • A-L-Carnitine - 1 x 750 mg [energy level, mental function]
  • L-Citrulline - 2 x 1600 mg [erection quality]
  • Black Maca Root - 6 x 750 mg [libido, erection quality, hormone balance, semen volume]
  • Horny Goat Weed - 2 x 500 mg [libido, erection quality]
  • Soy Lecithin - 6 x 1200 mg [semen volume, memory function]
  • Vitamin C - 2 x 1000 mg (+60 mg from multivitamin) [sperm count/morphology, anti-clumping]
  • Pygeum - 2 x 100 mg [semen volume]

Look, that list is crazy. I won't argue. But objectively, I am enjoying some of the best sexual performance of my life at age 41. My erections are firmer, they are easier to get, and I have tons of stamina. I have had more back to back orgasms - i.e. stay hard enough to stay inside my wife, then go again right away - in the past three months than I probably have in the rest of my life combined. So while some of this may be snake oil, I feel like something is helping for sure.

If I had to venture a guess, I would rank the following as the most important for sex: Citrulline (like Arginine, but way easier for your body to absorb), Black Maca Root, Zinc, Lechithin, P-L-Carnitine.

u/Glitch_Modulator · 2 pointsr/StackAdvice

Absolutely. I work a M-F 8-5 type job in IT, so I typically get up around the same time and stick to a decent morning routine and schedule in the first place. Having a good routine and preparation mindset is key for ADHD control. I take my Vyvanse shortly after I'm up and out of the shower, since it needs time to kick in and doesn't need to be taken with food. I take the stack 2x a day: with breakfast and coffee in the AM (and then second multivitamin and ALCAR with lunch) and then the rest without food or maybe a light snack at bed time.
Here's how I break down the stack:

  • B vitamin sources (I get mine per multivitamin): Solgar VM-75 2x daily (taken at breakfast and lunch)
  • DHA/omega fatty acid source: DHA NOW Foods DHA-500, 180 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003O1U77I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_IxMjyb0H4A8JW
This doubles as my omega 3 and fatty acid source,
which is THE FUCKING CRUCIAL ingredient in this stack and ADD/ADHD mitigation overall. Take this at breakfast and bed time. The research is out there on how much the brain loves omegas.
  • (Triacetyl)Uridine - Cardiovascular Research Uridine 25 mg 60 Caps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005NHSKWU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_2CMjybVB9ZKMF
Triacetyluridine is more potent and convenient than uridine UMP; you can take this tiny pill with breakfast and bed stacks and skip all that not-so-great tasting sublingual dissolving crap.
  • Choline source: ALCAR all damn day. I found I was highly reactive to cholinergics, and ALCAR doesn't cause any adverse reactions. It's a wonderful addition to any stack. Period.
Taken morning with breakfast and again with lunch (T+4 hours) since it's energizing.
  • You could also go with Alpha-GPC, and I recommend starting at the lower end of the dosage range, in the event that you are sensitive as well. I like the 50% strength variety - Powder City Alpha GPC Capsules (60 Capsules) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IWE0KOQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_lLMjybNASN6TP

Tl;dr - you need DHA, Uridine, B vitamins and Cholinergics, typically in a 12 hr apart regiment (or broken apart into breakfast, lunch and evening stacks). Quality magnesium is also recommended.
Vyvanse should also be taken on a strict schedule.
u/TarAldarion · 2 pointsr/vegetarian

This is the one I take, it has high omega 3 and also has D3 which is great.
http://opti3omega.com/

It is always 3for2 btw and often I'm emailed with discount codes too.

60$ for 3 months, but Im not sure I guess you could take 1 instead of 2 per day and have flax, I find them great, just a bit dear. Im sure there are others, http://www.amazon.com/Deva-Vegan-Omega-3-Delayed-Release/dp/B000V8BD4S etc

I acquired some super potent fish oil from Amazon, the difference is night and say so far from 3 days ago when I wasn't taking it. I recommend it to anyone looking for a mood boost. Plus my focus has been super intense with the DHA in it too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GV4O37E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494606243&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=fish+oil&psc=1

u/perhapsido · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

thanks for your detailed response.

the jury seems out on uridine in healthy individuals and that study linked is for mice, and the effective dose is massive iirc (https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/6o9z3z/chronic_uridine_administration_induces_fatty/). if true, what does this mean for the happy stack? stop taking it once you're happy? heh.

basically i'm asking for advice around if i should continue at all, or stop.

u/KJMurphette · 4 pointsr/BabyBumps

Like others I take the garden of Life prenatal. It's vegetarian, but that's not why I got it as I am definitely a meat eater. I looked for folate instead of folic acid as well. They suggest three a day and with you mentioning issues with absorbing them this might help by taking one, three times daily.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005JAT3TU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For DHA I take Nordic Naturals. They were also highly reviewed and don't taste funny at all. I've never had stomach issues or constipation issues due to my pills. Not to say my digestive system hasn't been wonky during pregnancy, just not caused by these, lol.

as /u/thebauhauscure said, definitely make sure to supplement with a few key vitamins. interestingly animal products themselves contain vitamins like b12 because the animals receive injections of synthetic vitamins. we used to get them from our soil I think, but it has been depleted.

here are a few brands I like (no additives):

u/aennil · 6 pointsr/vegan

>we can get EPA from ALA, but the DHA necessity is pretty much unknown

Plus, if it was determined that DHA supplementation was necessary, there are vegan DHA supplements (fish get it from algae and so can we!).

u/cardinal29 · 1 pointr/JUSTNOMIL

Not really germane to the sub, but as a fellow old lady with acne, I've found something that works.

Now I go around telling everyone like an obnoxious religious convert.

I'd bought a high DHA fish oil for my son (it's supposed to help with depression and ADHD symptoms) and he told me it completely cleared up his acne.

Now we're not allowed to run out of it.

At the time, I was like "yeah, probably not what helped" but I gave it a shot myself because why not, and fish oil is recommended for other things anyway. I haven't broken out in over a year. It's kind of amazing.

Where was this stuff in high school?

u/BabyOnHip · 1 pointr/breastfeeding

I got my prenatals, and continue to get them, free from Meijers. If you aren't near a Meijers, ask around, a lot of places do free prenatals now a days. I buy Nordic naturals strawberry flavored DHA. They contain the right amount of DHA and are burp free, which is a must if you're feeling sick.

u/damaged_but_whole · 1 pointr/nutrition

Well, if you're correct, then I probably already know the good ones. I'm currently using this: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Mega-DHA-1000mg-Softgels/dp/B000MXG1G2

...because it has more DHA...

It says it's molecularly distilled, tested for PCBs, heavy metals (including mercury) and other impurities. Think that's good?

u/throwaway500k · 2 pointsr/vegan

Ok, sure - I've listed a pretty typical day below, including supplements.

Breakfast

u/matznerd · 0 pointsr/Nootropics

After trying many brands and DHA focused varieties, I've settled on Carlson Super DHA. They have 500 mg of DHA per pill (100 mg EPA) and are high-quality.

u/perfectdisplay · 2 pointsr/vegan

From wikipedia: "Omega-3 fatty acids (also called ω−3 fatty acids or n−3 fatty acids[1]) refers to a group of three fats called ALA (found in plant oils), EPA, and DHA (both commonly found in marine oils)."

ALA is the only kind found in plants. But your body can convert that to EPA and DHA. to my knowledge we convert ala to epa easier than ala to dha. we can also take vegan versions of such things made from algae. lifes dha is vegan and is sometimes added to thinks like silk soymilk (it will say dha or omega 3 on the front) and also they added it to certain kinds of crisco canola oil. the jury is still "out" as to whether or not we need to supplement our diets with dha or not.

for more information see this link: http://www.veganhealth.org/articles/omega3

PS: this is the kind of dha pill i buy. i take a about 3 a week, so the bottle will probably last me 9-10 months. http://www.amazon.com/Spectrum-Essentials-Vegetarian-DHA-Softgels/dp/B001SB1T9Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1369977090&sr=1-1&keywords=spectrum+vegan+dha

u/Hail_Zeus · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Good fish oil brand?

I was thinking this or this - latter being the better deal

u/Kidchico · 15 pointsr/IsItBullshit

>If it were truthful, of course.

B12 comes from microorganisms, not animals. I get my D3 from lichen.

Not sure you want to take creatine supplements, but as mammals, we have creatine and taurine ourselves.

DHA can be plant- or yeast-based.

Heme iron has negative effects (such as increased levels of heart disease) on the body, so I avoid it.

Thoughts?

After lots of googling I found this vegan DHA supplement without rosemary extract: Vegan Omega DHA Supplement, #1 Prenatal DHA - Safe and Effective Omega Essential Fatty Acids Algae Formula - Algal Omega-3, Omega-6, DHA, EPA, MD-CertifiedTM Plant-Based Oils (60 Vegetarian Softgels) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M053IO3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AzMDyb472ZDH1

It doesn't have EPA, but it might be an alternative if you want to be safe and avoid rosemary?

edit: whoops, i meant this is my favorite http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-DHA-500-180-Softgels/dp/B003O1U77I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418080303&sr=8-1&keywords=now+dha-500

dha 500, which is what you really want. total 750mg combined dha/epa per 1,000mg, meaning not much wasted space.

u/babybear2017 · 3 pointsr/JulyBumpers2017

I'm doing Nordic Naturals - Prenatal DHA, (500 mg) in addition to MegaFood - Baby & Me, Prenatal & Postnatal Support. I chose this combination after a post someone put up about how the FDA doesn't fully regulate the amount of nutrients put in vitamins and another commenter kindly posted this link.

u/usefulshrimp · 2 pointsr/TBI

Yes, I take 2 of these a day and since taking them I feel mentally clearer. No side effects that I've determined.

I take Nordic Naturals: https://www.amazon.com/Nordic-Naturals-Development-Pregnancy-Lactation/dp/B0058ABILW?th=1. I'm sure any DHA supplement is fine, but I chose this one because it's recommended by the American Pregnancy Association: http://americanpregnancy.org/corp-sponsors/nordic-naturals/.

ETA: I see you're taking Nordic Naturals already. I take two. Six seems a little excessive.

I’ve been taking these for months and zero fish taste/burps:

Omega 3 Fish Oil 2250mg - High EPA 1200MG + DHA 900MG Triple Strength Burpless Capsules - Arazo Nutrition (120 Count) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GV4O37E

u/TheGogglesDoNothing_ · 1 pointr/Nootropics

I've been taking about 500mg dha with 250epa 2x daily with breakfast and dinner for about a year and I consider it to be one of the most powerful nootropics in existence that have no drawbacks associated with it. EE form is fine, cheap too. Here is what I use.

Nordic Naturals DHA have been working for me. Multivitamins are another story. I've developed a pretty strong sensitivity to any type of multi-vitamin and completely understand the aversion to trying new things. I've tried Centrum, Rainbow Light, and Country Life. The brand hasn't made a huge difference for me. I always need to eat my multi-vitamins with a FULL meal and lots of water, and even then I still feel nauseous.

u/chiquitatarita · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

Do you take the DHA/fish oil as a separate pill? I found this one and it smells like strawberries and doesn't give me fishy burps.

u/FinleyTheCat · 8 pointsr/vegan

OP, here's the vegan D3 I buy.

Bonus vegan omega-3.

Edit: to answer your discussion question, my line is my health. By law, at least in the United States, all medicine and medical procedures must be tested on animals. Also, most prescriptions meds contain animal products already (gelatin, lactose, shellac, etc). It sucks, but we have to live in the confines of reality. I am vegan as far as is practicable and possible, after all.

uridine monophosphate

b9 folate

methyl b12

And then I buy all my racetams and what not off eBay

oxiracetam

I wish they had the capsules on eBay but oh well I guess I'll get a MG Spoon

Does this seem about right ? What dosages do you take of all this stuff ? And what times of the day? and with food or no food ?

I take this prenatal, this DHA, and 2 of these vitamin D gummies every day. (Extra vitamin D at the rec of my midwife).

Why couldn't you have just bought one like this?

u/Linclin · 0 pointsr/Supplements

just search for DHA at vendors. DHA is readily available from easy/very cheap natural sources.

u/to0pink · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

Not sure. I take Nordic Naturals DHA and I really like it.

u/blippyz · 1 pointr/vegan

I was taking Udo's 3-6-9 with DHA for awhile. I stopped taking it last week because it ran out and I haven't had time to get more. https://www.amazon.com/Choice-Blend-17-Ounce-Glass-Bottle/dp/B0010ED3CM

I haven't really noticed any difference since not taking it. If anything I might say I've felt slightly better since stopping it, which is why I've put off buying more, but the difference is slight enough that I can't say it isn't just placebo (or whatever the term for the reverse of placebo is, but you get what I'm saying).

You posted this topic 2 weeks ago, how are you feeling now? Any change?

I’m vegetarian as well, here ya go Spectrum Essentials Vegetarian DHA, 90 Softgels https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001SB1T9Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pu11Ab3SD6YET

u/newbieroundhere · 1 pointr/PlantBasedDiet

I take Spectrum Vegetarian DHA but I didn't order it from Amazon, I found a bottle at Sprouts.

u/FLSverker · 1 pointr/Nootropics

Too much of anything will not help. You're getting way too much EPA, which has potent anti-inflammatory effects, and perhaps not enough DHA. The beginning recommended ratio is 2:1, and starting dose is around 1000mg DHA/500mg EPA.

Try this: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Mega-DHA-1000mg-Softgels/dp/B000MXG1G2/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1467730575&sr=1-2&keywords=nature+dha

u/klarky7 · 1 pointr/breastfeeding

They make a postnatal multivitamin for nursing mothers. That's what I've been taking!

u/bethyweasley · 1 pointr/vegan

I take this supplement, but as others said there are plant sources.

u/catsclaw · 3 pointsr/vegan

This is really the only concern. I take a multivitamin and an Omega-3 supplement every day. As long as you're eating a good variety of foods, you shouldn't have anything to worry about besides B12.

u/nemo1889 · 1 pointr/vegan

No problem. I'd suggest that instead of becoming food concerned, you just take supplements and eat a sensible diet. That's a whole lot easier for me.

If you take these two everyday you'll be getting a considerably healthier amount of key minerals and vitamins:

u/RedWowPower · 1 pointr/Septemberbumpers2017

I'd suggest trying a different brand because maybe the one you have is low quality or has gone rancid. I take this one and it has never made me sick (though I have had some rank burps). I don't eat fish at all so I don't have much of a choice in the matter, since studies say it is really important to have that nutrient in addition to the prenatals. This article lists the types of fish that have the most of it, if you want to try the diet route instead. I'm taking like 8 pills a day for this baby and I hate it!
