Check the stickied post for deals, but you should have a budget in mind, maybe the amount of discs you want to carry, and any other features you need (sling/shoulder straps vs backpack style, room for a hoodie, water bottles, etc.)

I had a DD Soldier with the sling straps and cooler insert and really liked it for casual rounds. Could fit 12-18 discs plus two putters. The cooler fit a six pack of tallboys and some ice packs if that’s your thing. I still take it out for casual daydrinking rounds sometimes!

Eventually upgraded to a Grip AX3 as I wanted something with more storage and disk space for tournaments and absolutely love it. I was able to get it on sale last New Year’s for $169 and at that price I think it’s the best bag on the market. Fits a ton of disks, has a lot of room in the side pockets for layers, and the construction is great. Probably overkill if you’re not playing tournaments or anything though.

I have heard good things about Upper Park bags if you’re looking to spend more than $75 but less than $150.

u/blikkah59 · 2 pointsr/discgolf

I'm saving this to see what kind of response you get.

I got a DD Solider Cooler bag this season since all of my rounds are casual at this point and I enjoy a cold beverage on the course. It's perfect for that but I'm maxed out at 12 discs.

I've gotten much more into disc over the past few months and will be adding to my bag and probably upgrading soon.

From my research, I'd add three bags to the mix for you:

Grip AX15

DD Ranger

*Upper Park Designs - New Rebel

The location and size of the storage for the DD Ranger bag is what I love. It also looks the best shape wise IMHO. A lot of people really love Grip though.

Good luck in the search!

Throwback Sports All Day Pack

I'm all about this bag. Sure the DD sniper is the same price, but this one has 6 side mesh pockets. I never knew how much I would love that. It makes grabbing the discs really easy. You can get about 3 discs into each pocket (although most times I had 2 in each unless they were drivers).

So what do they do with all that room in the actual bag compartment, well, you could store EXTRA discs in there or you could make use of the fact that it's lined and load that bad boy up with beer and ice. At the top of the bag (near the handle) there is a deep can pocket which holds tallboys oh so nicely. It's also perfect for holding my Bluetooth speaker! There are additional pockets on the bag to stash some gear in.

Seriously, I loved this bag (past tense because it got stolen with about 22 discs in it). I had room for all the discs I needed, a 6 pack, my speaker, a couple bottles of water, some food, a sweatshirt/jacket and pretty much anything else I wanted to bring with me. I never had a problem with it's comfort and it sat nice and square.

Innova super hero. Has the large side pockets like grip bags. Large main pocket, and 2 capacity putter pocket. Double water holders that hold a hydroflask.

Not the most comfortable bag, but very cheap. Mine has lasted 3ish seasons so far and I am rough on things.

Can be had for as little as 69.99 on Amazon sales, usually closer to 100.

Make sure you get the super hero, not just hero. Super hero has the extra storage youre looking for.

On Amazon right now in black for 90.

I recommend the Fitactic DG Bag. You can find them on Amazon

You can fit all of that stuff. Specific to the link below to outline what you're looking for- mine holds 25 discs, could probably hold a few more.

I roll up a rain jacket and put it in the side pocket; however, if you're only holding 12-14 discs you can easily fold your jacket and put it in the main pocket. The upper pockets on the bag can hold about 6-8 discs, depending on if they're drivers, mids or putters.

The two side pockets for me (no jacket) usually hold: mini umbrella, gum, ibuprofen, coozies, a couple trash bags to p/u the course, sunglasses and the whole other one holds my 2 towels AND has a dedicated, padded cell-phone pocket.

Lastly the 2 cupholders are very spacious. I usually carry a big 32oz Nalgene and a 32oz Gatorade bottle. These cupholders have tightener straps which is very clutch

They're highly durable, I love my bag. Would recommend friend!

I recently got my dad a Throwback Sack and it's honestly the highest quality bag I've ever had my hands on. Much nicer than my backpack. This thing has an insulated cooler pocket that's big enough to hold 4 bottles of water with 2 ice packs, keeps them ice cold. Has lots of disc space, putter pocket in the front, mini pocket on the side with a phone pocket and a bottle holder pocket that has a good drawstring and is big enough for a big gatorade bottle. The strap is strong with very good padding, and the two things that set this bag over the top for me were: The back of the bag, where it rests against your body when you're walking the course, has very thick mesh padding. And the second thing is that the bottom of the bag has the biggest rubber feet I've seen on a bag.

Super big fan, and their a newer company so I think they deserve all the shoutouts they can get right now. Currently the bag is on sale for $50, the normal price is $80 and the quality of the construction is worth that, so for $50 it's an absolutely insane deal.

I have purchased this bag recently and I love it. My friend got an upper park designs bag around the same time and I believe mine is just as durable as his will be years from now. Many reviews on the product attest to its durability. It super cheap (which is what I needed cause I'm a college student), but it doesn't come with cheap material in my opinion. It's only $99 so it's a win win to me.

I just copy pasted this from the last time I told someone about this bag. I have it and still love it ~7 months now

Athletico Power Shot Disc Golf Backpack - 20+ Disc Capacity - Pro or Beginner Disc Golf Bag - Unisex Design (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C38G49H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_t6u3DbQ7YJK37

Here me out on this one. I started playing about 6 months ago and have been using this bag for about 4 months. It’s lightweight, seems durable, currently I have 13 discs in it (i would say maybe 20 is the max), the left pocket fits my large water bottle in it with ease, the insulated pocket can hold 5 beers or two waters. I’ve been pretty happy with it so far and for price it’s a great value

u/scrimplins · 1 pointr/discgolf

Thanks! It sounds like the bag I was emulating would be a pretty good fit for him!

u/TurnDownForPutts · 2 pointsr/discgolf

Fitactic. This thing is the best: http://www.amazon.com/FITACTIC-Luxury-Frisbee-Disc-Backpack/dp/B00KEZMXGU

Nice and sleek, all-black like every backpack should be, perfect functionality. Stay tuned for a durability report.

u/zoopaflack · 3 pointsr/discgolf

I have the grip clone bag $100 on amazon, and it is not bad at all. Right now grip is having a sale and it looks like B15's are only 154 shipped, so spending the extra $54 might not be a bad idea to get the actual thing from them. The only real difference I see, is the flap has a pocket that can hold a disc, and it comes with a rain fly, but doesn't have the towel clips. I have had mine since March and it seems to hold up well, and can even be loaded down with a decent number of discs. If it fits in your budget, I saw go for the real thing, reputable company with a warranty, and you know it will be well made. There are so many bags out now hope this helps in decision.

I have a Dynamic Discs Trooper bag: Dynamic Discs Trooper Disc Golf... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075GSYJMR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. I really like it, and it holds what I need.

I’m having the same problems with looks, I like the size of the Innova Hero bags, but don’t really care for the colors/design it comes in.

u/puckhead · 1 pointr/discgolf

I just made the jump to a backpack recently and went with the Sniper. It's quite a bit cheaper than most of the other options and after a couple months it seems to be holding up great. One thing I like about it compared to ones I see other people using is that it has a pocket that can hold a light jacket. That's been really useful this time of year.

u/itsthatkid69 · 1 pointr/discgolf

I’m not sure how long the hole was. UDisc says 218 but the sign says like 252 so I’m not sure, there was quite a bit of that there it looks like they recently went through and reworked everything, cleaned everything up. I threw a meteor esp that was bright green. It was a blast the course is called Tittabawassee Trails. Oh and the bag is a throwback.amazon link to the bag

u/greensmurf30 · 2 pointsr/discgolf

i have no idea! but hopefully people will be able to give some feedback about this one, the fade crunch box, as that is the one i am debating getting. some better pictures are on the fade website and some reviews are on amazon.

i don't really want to end up carrying a bunch of discs, and i just want something that can switch between carrying a full 12 discs, or a half load and some brewskis. what kind of bags are you eyeing?

u/chason_htx · 6 pointsr/discgolf

The Fade Crunch Box will fit that bill for around $30 (more colors around the net if you look). It's marketed as a 12 disc bag, and has a divider. I bet I could fit 10 discs in (2 in the putter pocket) and a six pack without much coercion. It's not insulated... but for the money, I'd just toss a few ice packs in there.

It's very well made, I routinely carry a 2L of water with me on the course, no signs of wear on the bag yet.

As for straps, I got the LC-1 H-type military suspenders for about $15 shipped. I can't justify spending $50 on straps... these do the job quite nicely.

u/nataskaos · 3 pointsr/discgolf

I love my Fade Gear Tournament bag. http://www.amazon.com/Fade-Gear-Tourney-Disc-Golf/dp/B002A22UFY

I also have the Fade Straps that go with it. http://fadegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=96

Protip, you can get these on ebay for much cheaper.

But yeah, it's worth it to me so I have a place for my putters and drink holders for my stuff.

u/QueasySpartan · 3 pointsr/discgolf

It has held up pretty well especially for the price and it says 8 but it will hold 9 including the front putter pocket. I just took out my least used discs or the ones I didn't think would be good for the course.

u/NotoriousOGP · 1 pointr/discgolf

A bag really isn't necessary for only 3-4 discs. It's just preference though. You can get a bag like this that holds around 15 discs for pretty cheap.

u/Eric264 · 3 pointsr/discgolf

That’s one of the reasons I like my Throwback All Day bag, it’s unique. The discs go in the outside pockets and the inside is basically a giant cooler. However I am now the designated beer mule for my friends, so that’s a little drawback.

u/slytree · 2 pointsr/discgolf

Check out the throwback sack, the reviews look great. I want one.

u/vervain9 · 1 pointr/discgolf

I’ve been using this for a year https://www.amazon.com/Innova-Champion-Discs-Standard-Black/dp/B00DF41CV4

Fits 9 discs comfortably. Can fit two tall boys. It doesn’t have great balance but gets the job done for me.

I haven't found anything that opens that way from the top and is that... compact? I thought it was a L64 E3 at first, but it also looks like this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071J9QYWM?tag=iperfectlist-20) but that bag opens differently at the top..

Fade Crunch on Amazon.

MVP Beaker, looks like their version of the crunch bag.

I recently just stepped up from my small sholder bag to a full backpack and found this one fairly cheap on Amazon. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and have no complaints. I love the big two side pockets and front zipper pocket, as well as the front pocket from my putters.

I like the innova disccarrier with backpack straps. kindof lets you have the backpack and the satchel if you just loop one arm. I'm a beginner/intermediate too.

ends up being $85

This UK Amazon shop has a unbranded Grip Bag for £98.95. Not sure what the deal is as I've never seen an unbranded one but it's an exact match to my bag straight from Grip.

u/SecretAgentX9 · 1 pointr/discgolf

Sorry 'bout that. It's the Fade Crunch: http://www.amazon.com/Fade-Gear-Crunch-Disc-Small/dp/B001FSZA60

Though if I were to pick a bag again, I'd definitely take a look at the Voodoo stuff. It's so awesome.

I just bought a Throwback Sack
for around $50.

I switched from an old backpack which could comfortably hold just 6-7 discs as well as a couple beers and my 32oz Nalgene water bottle.

This bag is incredible so far. Cooler can hold a six pack and those Ice pack things(Now guess who is designated beer mule for the group), as well as some 10-12 discs, it has two dividers that you can use or not, makes dividing discs up simple and makes them easy to find. Big water bottle holder for my nalgene, and a putter pocket on the outside so my main putter is always accessible.

Only downside is the strap could be longer, but if it was, my disc towel would drag on the ground.

That's what I have, it's close to what you described... can't put ice in it, but ice packs work. There are cheaper versions too.

u/Tetriside · 2 pointsr/discgolf

I don't know much about the quality, but the Throwback Sports bags have coolers.

The old version of backpack used the entire main compartment. The newer one has insulated side pockets. There's also a smaller bag with less disc storage.

u/SailorDan · 6 pointsr/discgolf

Here is a much cheaper version of a bag very similar to the NutSac: Kestrel

u/randomt2000 · 1 pointr/discgolf

There is a company that does a Grip Rippoff and sells it without logo, doesn't get much simpler than that. Also very cheap. But as it goes with Ripp offs though, I'm a bit doubtful about the quality.
