This is obviously a knife for disabled mall ninjas like this one.

I recently watched "Forks Over Knives," which, based on a number of published studies/books, strongly suggests that animal protein correlates to cancer, heart disease and overweight. I was a heavy meat eater. Not so much after watching this movie. As a a result, I got a Vitamix blender to make "green smoothies" from spinach, kale, pineapple, grape juice and other whole food ingredients. This pulverizes the fruit and vegetables so thoroughly that 6 ozs. of spinach is not hard to consume (drink) each day. Tastes pretty good too.

If you have Amazon Prime, you can watch Forks Over Knives for free (http://www.amazon.com/Forks-Over-Knives/dp/B005K23RS0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1368562534&sr=8-2&keywords=forks+over+knives) I also eat more nuts, beans, quinoa etc. I lift weights and mountain bike and I have noticed I have much more energy with no loss of muscle since changing my diet to more plant based, whole foods approach. This suggests I am getting adequate protein so far.

Obviously, we should consult a physician before any contemplated diet change, but a plant based, whole foods diet is working for me with no loss of muscle mass. I am continuing to monitor results though.

Cancer sucks, I am sorry.

Another documentary, Forks Over Knives, also discusses the benefits of a plant-based diet as it relates to cancer. It cites several scientific studies, including a really big one done on diet in China in the 80's. While it might be too late for switching to a plant-based diet to help much, it doesn't cost much and it wouldn't hurt to try.
