Your link doesn't work for me but were you pointing to the Dash Go Rapid Egg Cooker by chance? If so, then I whole-heartedly agree with you. I love mine and use it everyday. Even the rest of my family are eating more eggs due to how easy and consistent they cook. I've used the poacher and personal omelette parts as well and they are great. Best $20 I ever spent.
In my actual article, under the "egg salad" I have way more details such as how I soft-boil the eggs. Here I'll copy paste it:
There are MANY ways to soft boil eggs but this is what I do:
If you’re on the go or don’t have much time to make sure it's perfect, some people use an electric egg cooker like this one which makes it a brainless activity to cook the eggs to the desired setting (soft, med, hard) without having to tend to it if you’re getting ready for work.
[This is for you] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OICLVBI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ba90Ab25AP3XJ) because I read in your comments that you have a new guy that you're excited about. I have found that keeping a mate happy is MUCH easier if you know their love language. 😍
[This is for me] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DDXWFY0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Ud90Ab86J7VHE) because I have been doing Keto diet to lose weight and EGGS ARE LIFE on this diet. 🤓
[This is for /u/Miss-omnibus to read when she has insomnia] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/1596433973/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cp90AbX8407XZ) because she was sweet enough to summon me to introduce herself in another thread and we had a good conversation. 😘
AND I think there is still money left over for you to get a little something extra for yourself or save it for another contest! 🤩

Rated as HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:
> Our favorite egg cooker has it all: It produced seven perfectly boiled eggs in 17 minutes, four perfectly poached eggs in 7.5 minutes, has a pleasantly audible timer, was easy to use, and is one of the least expensive models.

Rated as RECOMMENDED:
> This egg cooker came in a close second place, boiling seven eggs and poaching three eggs to perfection, but took 20 minutes and 15 minutes respectively, slower than our winner.

Gainz or also this. I don't have the first but Ive heard its pretty amazing. I do have the second and I can attest to rice cookers being fucking awesome. I use mine for cooking noodles, rice, soups, wontons, etc.
Alternatively if you want it to be purely lifting related I hear that Donnie thompsons recently started selling his bowtie and formal bowtie. Which are for people who bench a lot and have ache-y shoulders and ive heard its good.
Failing that maybe think of lifting clothes that are comfy that they might want? Ive heard a few pots talk about wool socks being amazing (though i dont know if you wear those to lift in or just in boots?). Also some companies like strideline let you put your own logo onto the socks themselves. So maybe get the weak elephant logo and put it on socks?
I dont have them yet but i think that the :
SpaceX is looking to reduce the cost of space travel by orders of magnitude. If you look at what goes into the cost of a rocket today, only around 2% is fuel and another 2% raw materials. The bulk of it is putting it together (and then letting it crash into the ocean). With that sort of cost reduction colonising Mars changes from prohibitively expensive to expensive, but very doable.
The ISS is currently 420 tons. Imagine if it was 42000 tons instead. You basically go from interesting science project to massive space station with hundreds of crew. Also remember that once you're in orbit you're halfway to anywhere in the solar system.
And that's just SpaceX in the short term. Imagine if you were living 100 years ago, the idea that you could spend an hour's wage to buy this monstrosity which poops out eggs (or that people would even make such a thing in the first place) would be ridiculous. Yet today with modern automation we can make shit for dirt cheap prices. It doesn't take much of a stretch to imagine a world where you took humans completely out of the manufacturing loop. You wouldn't even need especially smart artificial intelligence or anything, just an incremental improvement in everything.
The moment you can go from raw ore to finished product without human hands involved suddenly space isn't that big a deal. Also suddenly you can have a factory which can build itself. And with that, the ability to take advantage of exponential growth and do things like take apart planets in a matter of decades. All this without going anywhere near physical limits nor plausible sci fi things like general AI or nanobots.
I'm just gonna leave this amazing little device here. It makes hard-boiled eggs flawlessly & the effort to peel them is basically non existent. Peeling the entire shell off in 1 go is soo damn satisfying as well.
I've made well over 50+ perfectly cooked (& perfectly peeled) dozens of hard boiled eggs, there is something amazing about seeing a flawless egg without a shell.
You might be interested in the Dash Go Rapid Egg Cooker then. It was the best $20 that I've spent in a while and the whole family has been eating more eggs because of how easy and consistent it is.

Thanks for sharing the recipe and tips. I'm definitely going to try this out.
u/PosieDonsjustsalty has given you the correct answer. The most important part is to start with old eggs.
However, though I can boil eggs without problems. one of my favorite single use appliances is a little egg cooker similar to this. I never have a problem peeling eggs cooked in this cooker. They don't actually get boiled, they are cooked in hot steam and that seems to guarantee easy peeling.
What I like about mine is that I can set it and walk away. It shuts itself off when it is done. I also like that it uses less energy than boiling eggs with a stove top burner.
They sell lots of different brands and models all over the place, so find whatever one suits your egg needs. I just got this one on Amazon and for the price, it is the best $16 I have spent the entire time I’ve done Keto. I use it DAILY.
[Egg Cooker (with colors!)](Maxi-Matic EGC-007T Easy Electric Egg Poacher, Omelet & Soft, Medium, Hard-Boiled Measuring Cup Included, 7 Capacity, Teal https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N9TPNF6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2fTvDb2E3K56A)
I’m not totally familiar with the rules about posting links to items on this sub, so I just wanted to be clear: I don’t work for or represent this company or any other egg maker type operation. I’m just a fan and wanted to share my find!
1.) You need protein also. If you eat eggs, try a Dash brand egg cooker! You can make hard boiled eggs, omelets, etc. It is perfect for small spaces.
https://www.amazon.com/Dash-Rapid-Egg-Cooker-Scrambled/dp/B00DDXYC6O
2.) Innovasian makes a microwaveable type of sticky white rice that if let cool makes great sushi and if fried with butter and soy sauce/teriyaki sauce makes a great hibachi style rice!
https://www.innovasiancuisine.com/sticky-white-rice/
For breakfast, get a microwave egg cooker like this one or this one if you want more than two, and then buy the following at Costco: eggs, cheese slices, microwaveable bacon, and English muffins. Toast muffin(s), nuke bacon 45 - 60 seconds depending on your microwave, and nuke eggs for 50 or so seconds. Layer together with cheese. Voila! Delicious breakfast sandwich in under 5 minutes.
Edit to say: For convenience type items, I really like their microwaveable quiches. They're a four pack of a couple different kinds and they turn out pretty well in the microwave.
I use an electric egg cooker with 7 eggs at a time. I fill the measuring cup to 1.5mm below the 7 egg soft boil line. While the eggs are cooking I prepare an ice and water (50:50) bath in a large bowl and the moment the timer goes off I transfer the eggs to be fully submerged under the ice.
Here’s a similar model to what I have at home - at $16 it’s not a bad investment:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F0RDRFS
Since I eat up to 6 eggs a day I have food budget to get the best eggs available in my region - that’s why the yolks here are so deep in color. Quality and suppliers will vary per region. I went to the farmers market and local grocery stores to try all the available eggs until I found a winner. Sampling was fun, and the effort is long lasting because I can’t get enough of the taste of these eggs!! My day is not complete without them.
It has its own heat source so you don't need a microwave for either hard boiling or poaching. I used this model:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008IH9X/
It's cheaper actually, and highest rated through America's Test Kitchen. You can hard boil 7 eggs or poach 4 at a time, but just one or two is fine too. Super easy to use and clean, I actually got it because of mobility and hand problems that make me clumsy and easily tired, and it's even less work even than frying (which is to say, not much at all). Just don't forget to use cooking spray so the eggs don't stick if you poach them (I've forgotten it a few times on bleary-eyed mornings).
I got this. It's frigging amazing. It's so much easier to prep eggs. I wish I had one twenty years ago.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008XBADDM
Chill in cold water for 2-3 minutes after they're done, but before they get cold, and they peel super easy.
I use this thing to boil the eggs:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DDXWFY0/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1523762820&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=go+dash+egg+cooker
Makes perfect eggs every time. Super easy.
And I make them very simply: just mix up 12 egg yolks, 1 tbsp of yellow mustard, 1/2 tsp salt, and however much mayonnaise you like in a bowl, spoon them in the egg whites, and pepper them to all hell.
I use Hellman’s with added olive oil.
More mayonnaise or mustard if you like. The first time I used too much mustard, which just makes them zippy. One time I didn’t use enough mayo, and they were very plain. I just eyeball the mayonnaise, making it nice and creamy.
I bought one of these a few months ago and it has been great. Super easy, no clean-up, and once you get the method down it's easy to repeat every time.
I have a cute little egg-cooker I got for Christmas.
It lets you make scrambled eggs and omelettes, but I only use it to boil eggs.
It only holds six eggs at a time, but it cooks and times them perfectly and the eggs are the easiest eggs I've ever peeled.
http://www.amazon.com/Dash-Go-Rapid-Egg-Cooker/dp/B00DDXYC6O
If you love eggs like I do, consider an egg cooker. As a chef I don't normally like extemporaneous small appliances but I was given the one below as a gift and I've never looked back. The biggest advantage is that the shells NEVER stick. Old eggs, fresh eggs, farm eggs, they just slide right off. Mine also has a egg poacher tray, but I don't even use that. There are less expensive 'egg cookers' also but this is the one I have experience with.
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CEC-10-Egg-Central-Cooker/dp/B008XBADDM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1397152219&sr=8-4&keywords=egg+cooker
forgot about eggs, eggs and more eggs.
This will be your new best friend, love medium boiled if eating right away, otherwise hard boiled for travel: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F0RDRFS/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_b4Zko_c_x_1_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=WN5PE35M1JWYFXM741NP&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=e39ee576-ada3-5765-a14e-a74cf26d8bcf&pf_rd_i=1090754
I'm a 270 lb powerlifter who eats a TON of protein and loves eggs. I have never carried one in my pocket though. I did buy one of THESE in my office, freakin great device, I put in ten eggs when I get to work, cook them, put them in cold water and I have about 70g of protein for snacks. I usually eat five before my lunchtime lifting and five more around 4 pm, get some Dave's Insanity and salt mixed with them, wrap them in a lettuce leaves, they're much better tasting than the cans of tuna I used to consume and go great with a 1/2 gallon of milk.
I got [this] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F0RDRFS/)from a friend 2 months ago and am in love with it. Perfectly boiled eggs in no time every time.
I am not sure if this has been said yet, but I just stumbled upon this egg cooker. It is priced very well and makes cooking hardboiled eggs a breeze! They cook in about ten minutes, cooked to perfection, easier to peel, and no boiling pot on the stove!
http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CEC-10-Egg-Central-Cooker/dp/B008XBADDM/ref=sr_1_4?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1415086784&sr=1-4&keywords=egg+cooker
So I have this little gadget:
http://www.amazon.com/West-Bend-86628-Automatic-Cooker/dp/B00008IH9X/ref=lp_1090754_1_6?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1413873178&sr=1-6
Would never go back honestly. But to answer your question directly, before I had it, I used advice from Better Homes & Gardens cookbook.
You put your eggs in the pan to start, add enough cold water to cover them. Bring up to a rolling boil then remove from heat, cover and leave for 3-4 minutes for soft boiled, 15 for hard boiled. I had pretty good luck with this method. I think I used 5-6 minutes for soft boiled because I prefer to have a mostly solid yolk with a little liquid yolk.
One detail worth mentioning is that these times can change based on altitude. If you're at a high altitude, water boils at a lower temperature so you'll have to cook for a little longer.
Found it on amazon.
My favorite exert from that top review:
>My first experiment with the Rollie was just plain eggs, what the device was originally made for. Just as promised, my egg phallus rose proudly erect from the depths of the Rollie chamber, still-liquid yolk glistening on its tip. That is, until it was spent from the effort and drooped over, the yolk dripping from its head onto the counter below, as if to say "I'm finished, you can wrap your lips around me now."
Okay then get one of these:

I have one and there is zero taste difference and no effort. It's better than spinning water and vinegar. I think greasing anything should be a given not sure why I need to say that. You honestly can't say it doesn't taste the same because I guarantee most places you've had a poached egg uses this method. Try both of them side by side and you won't be able to tell the difference. Even a multi cooker is a great alternative if you don't like what I linked. They include plenty of accessories to cook eggs.
Try this thing. I don't know how but they peel way easier and cook perfect every time.
Dash Go Rapid Egg Cooker, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DDXWFY0/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_K8ENxbF6Y21M0
If you like hard boiled eggs a lot, this is one of the best things you can buy under $20. I get perfect hard boiled eggs every time with 0 effort. It also has trays for poaching and omelets, they don't make anything amazing but they will make decent eggs with a bonus that it was steamed and not fried.

egg cooker! just got this one and I'm in love, works beautifully.
p.s. what you're looking to make is a "medium" egg
I just use the Egg Genie. It produces great (delicious) results, is super fast, and makes more than I usually eat at once.
Egg steamer. It makes getting perfect hard boiled eggs so much easier. I love mine and use it a lot. I have this one.
Don't laugh at me, but I really want this egg cooker. I don't know why you should or should not pick me, because I think we're all worthy. However, I stay at home most day with my two young children and then work on the weekends. My husband just got showered in gifts for his birthday from not only myself but family and friends of his. I know my birthday will roll around and I will be lucky to get a card. Waaah. Anyway, I love deviled eggs and I always have to call my mine to get her hard boiled egg break down because my memory sucks. This would be swell to have and I can quit annoying her.
I bought this thing on a whim and it's actually pretty great.
I love an egg and cheese sandwich so probably this weird as-seen-on-tv stoneware egg cooker thing that makes a perfect egg for an english muffin in about a minute, believe it or not. Probably be lost without my air fryer too.
I LOVE EGGS. My bf jokes that I eat so many that I am an egg. I even have this as my home screen wallpaper right now: http://i.imgur.com/Vgc6R32.png. Also, this little egg cooker has been an absolute game changer!
I have this one.

it's cheaper and also works perfectly everytime with easy to de-shell eggs.
Get yourself one of these. Comes with a little measuring cup with a spike on the bottom to pierce the eggs (I guess to prevent the shell from cracking somewhere random and making a mess). Follow the guide for how much water to use for how many eggs you are cooking vs the level of 'boiled' you want them. Hit the button and it will cook them how you like and it shuts itself off when done. It's the only real cooking gadget I own and I love the thing.
Make half a dozen boiled eggs in under 10 minutes with one of these:

Dash Rapid Egg Cooker, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DDXWFY0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0eXKAbRDY3HYN
This thing is a life saver and cooks PERFECT boiled eggs. I bought the model that cooks a dozen eggs at a time. It also makes omelettes and poached eggs. Bed bath and beyond sells the larger model for $29.99, I used a 20% off code. Totally worth it!
I gave up on sous vide hard boiled eggs after purchasing one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Elite-Cuisine-EGC-007-Maxi-Matic-Capacity/dp/B00F0RDRFS
perfectly cooked and easy to peel eggs every batch.
The even make a double decker model:
https://www.amazon.com/Dash-DEC012BK-Deluxe-Egg-Cooker/dp/B00ZGCKLE2
Highly recommend it we use it here in my office. Dash is the one we have. But I'm sure you can probably find it cheaper at Wally world or a Marshall's type store. It makes the perfect hard boil egg that peels so easily. And it's tiny. So 6 hard boiled eggs in 10 mins, instant breakfast or fast protein lunch.
I know the idea of a hard boiled egg cooker might seem dumb, but if you love them as much as me, one is so worth it. You steam them with a hole in the top of the shell, so an air bubble forms and the shell falls off so easily.

Every once in a while I'll say something nice. I bought one of these about a year ago and it's been a lifesaver.
I find the texture a bit spongy/off, but it’s edible. I’ve found this egg cooker to be really great for hard boiled/soft boiled and it can do scrambled too— only annoying thing is the loud noise when it’s done. It uses steam to cook and has saved me lots of water and watching pans and pots!
I got this egg cooker and it is amazing. You can hard/medium/soft boil a bunch of eggs or poach and it's super quick. The buzzer when it's done is a little annoying but it's really small and can be stashed away easily.
I mean it’s in no way gourmet, but it does get the job done. There’s products like this to help make the egg patty for fast breakfast sandwiches
Not an Instant Pot, but seriously the best soft/medium/hard-boiled egg maker ever!

Wow, that's interesting... I've never seen anything like that. Looked it up and I'm assuming it's something like this?
Thank you. It's difficult right now because I know from when I was still on my Dad's insurance that there are certain meds that really help me, and since I have to go to free clinics they won't prescribe them because they're habit forming. Really ticks me off that I have to go without because they think I'm a junky. I just want to be able to sleep at night without hearing voices or waking up in a full blown panic attack. I hope your s/o's appeal goes well!
To confuse future archaeologists I would put in a Rollie egg cooker. I don't even know what to make of it now.
Do you not have a cooktop, or you’re just looking for simplicity? Eggs in the microwave don’t sound very good, to be honest. I have one of these egg cookers and I use it constantly. Super simple soft or hard boiled eggs, it also does poached eggs and omelettes but I’ve never tried either.

I pan cook them, but I do a bunch of other stuff in the kitchen while they cook - make lunches, unload the dishwasher, prep the coffee pot.
I do have one microwavable thing similar to this and it works well for poached eggs, and I mostly use it at work.
And because I searched, I found this and I WANT ONE.

I put two eggs each in my partners and my lunch salads, plus occasional snacks, so I’d say it’s worth it at $40 honestly. $20 is a good price for it, but you might want to wait til it drops to $15 again.
I just bought an egg cooker for like $15. Plop seven eggs in and poke a tiny hole for a hard boil in about 15 min. Cooking spray and 2 eggs cracked in the dual tray for a poach in less than 10. Cooking spray and two eggs scrambled in the omelet tray in just a few minutes. You put everything in and walk away, there's an automatic shut off when the steam runs out. Just a few pieces to clean off and it's small enough to stash when not in use.
You can also use it to steam veggies though I've only had it for a few days and haven't tried it yet.
It helps me make healthier choices when I am prone to grabbing something prepackaged to avoid effort or cleanup.

I have one of these. It's so easy to cook eggs either beforehand or when you want them. They come out warm and easy to peel in only a few minutes. It has a permanent spot next to my coffee pot.
I’m hit or miss when it comes to eggs. The only way for me to cook perfect hard boiled is with an
electric egg cooker
I got this one on amazon and it also does poached and omelet style (in a dish). Easy clean up and quick cooking time.
Many specialty kitchen gadgets that only do one thing are unnecessary, but for me this one is essential.
Interesting. I have the Dash Egg Cooker. It's worked great for me. For the instructions, it says to use a small needle (included with the device) to prick a small hole at the bottom - I think on the fat end. Then set them upright on a little plastic plate where it basically steam cooks for hard boiled eggs. Eggs don't seem to get soggy.
Can't think of any thing like that but I purchased an egg cooker/steamer about 6-7 months ago and once you get the peeling started, sometimes it comes off like a clementine orange peel.
I love this thing... idk why more people don't have one: http://www.amazon.com/Oster-385182-4716-Egg-Cooker/dp/B00006IUUP/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1268027176&sr=8-3
You can make perfect soft boiled eggs where the yolk is runny but the white is firm. Squirt that yolk all over some toast... MMMM
Behold, the pinnacle of man's achievement. I for one believe we've been on the downward slope of progress ever since the creation of the slanket.
They need room for the eggs/steam to expand. Here is the amazon page for the product...if you look down the top comment has a scan of the instruction manual.
I would have to go check to see if mine actually turns off. I have this and it cooks a perfect egg.

You shouldn't cook or reheat eggs in microwaves. By reheat I mean- if an egg was cooked, cooled, then reheated (even out of shell), it can still explode.

I work the General Merchandise department at a grocery store and we recently got a batch of these in our store. We don't carry as-seen-on-TV items, so I had to mark them down. I bought one myself because the bottom bowl half is essentially just an apothecary-style bowl. Its meant for food, but it works as a lathering bowl just fine.
Lol Jesus, calm your tits.

If you want to try cooking eggs, look for a egg cooker. I found mine at TJ Maxx for $10 + tax. You're able to boil eggs (hard, medium, or soft), poach eggs, or scramble them as well. You add some water to the hot plate and how it's cooked depends on how much water you add. It did take some experimenting for me to figure out how much water to add since the measurements provided didn't work out exactly. It's small enough that you can hide if room inspections look for them.

When I was a child in the seventies (here in the U.S.), my mom had an electric egg steamer. Inside the cover in the center was a small post with a pin embedded in the end that you used to pierce the shells before cooking. You could also poach eggs in the appliance, using an additional tray. I had forgotten completely about that thing until I saw your post. Haven't seen anything like it in years.
