What do I need to get images like yours? Im in the UK if that matters

Properly transmitting the analog signal (what you get over coax) with reasonable quality isn't really possible on the free frequencies. Transmitting the full digital signal that HDMI carries over wifi isn't really possible either (you need 48Gbps or so).

So your options are two, one, for cable, you can capture the raw digital stream transmitted and send that over wifi. the HD Home Run will do that, it's only really good for cable/TV, but it works well, and gets you full quality with minimal cost, but the user interface is going to be a bit different (you need to access it via streaming on the TV, maybe with a firestick or similar). The HDHomeRun won't tune to analog streams if this is cable and it happens to have some, it also adds significant latency and won't do for games.

The second option is get an HDMI wireless converter, they are expensive, add significant lag (and are no good for gaming), and reduces the quality as it must recompress all video.

There are several that also include DVR capability. Be careful as some of them are analog (read NTSC) out. The best you will get with one of those as 480i.

Look at something like this:

Here's a little different approach. Devices that go with you and have ATSC tuner built in.

If you are in San Fran area they are starting to trial a device called tablettv.com which is initially only for that area. $80 for device and apple focused app.

There is a device from elgato may be worth a flyer. Only $16

http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Mobile-30-Pin-iPhone-10026010/dp/B00A0BXBTG/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1417360566&sr=8-3-fkmr2&keywords=elgato+atsc+iphone#customerReviews

CAUTION THE ELGATO ONLY WORKS WITH 30 PIN CONNECTOR

Also look for Audiovox WIDTV or same box under dyletv

This device connects to your ipod via its own wireless channel. Receiver app fro apple app store
Should be pretty cheap pricing.

These devices are complete, portable tuners with antenna included

This ViewSonic VX2858sml is on sale at amazon deals for $199.99 only for today. I was wondering whether it would be good for photo editing or should wait for a good deal on an IPS monitor?

u/Demijinx1 · 1 pointr/HamRadio

I have had more luck with this SDR than other models. Grab a baking pan to throw under the antenna as a ground plane and you will have much better results.

u/evilpaul · 2 pointsr/retrogaming

I did some more searching and I'm having way better luck than before. I found 3 but they are a bit pricey. I just want one temporally until I get my consoles modded.

This is a little cheaper, this particular one is missing a adapter but maybe a good cheap one can pop up http://r.ebay.com/YsULqM

u/lazerpenguin · 1 pointr/oculus

Interesting. So the remote does basically work, just chewed up, so I just tried to pair the remote to home without the rift plugged in and it wouldn't connect. Seems like maybe the rift has it's own bluetooth receiver then?

I wonder if something like this would work?

u/thefoyer · 2 pointsr/cordcutters

I'm confused by your question mark, lol

Tuner = http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1196-WinTV-HVR-1250-PCI-E-Tuner/dp/B0014YFC18/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1395697312&sr=8-7&keywords=hauppauge

or

Windows media center which comes built in with windows these days, does the rest. It has a full on guide which allows you to set future recordings and you can watch tv OTA (over the air) (I believe if you want to watch something and record something else you'll need a dual channel tuner)... and personally I prefer WMC to the software most tuners come with.

Good?

u/expert02 · 3 pointsr/cordcutters

Yeah, they seriously need to at least offer a CableCard add-on. They have 4-channel ones for about $200 and 2-channel ones for about $100.

Heck, they could just add support for specific USB CableCard tuners and call them "Certified".

u/acappo · 1 pointr/stratux

Hi I am considering making a stratux, and want to implement FLARM, just to be sure, this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076GWVNHS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A1TIGMJ4AZ1K1A&psc=1
would cover everything I need? or is a separate receiver required for FLARM (868 MHz)?

u/DrMcMeow · 2 pointsr/RTLSDR

not that I know of. For example here in the US you would need an ATSC tuner.

something like one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/AVerMedia-AVerTV-Volar-Hybrid-H837/dp/B006PU81QE/

u/cheesepuff1993 · 1 pointr/PleX

Right - for regular streams of movies/shows on the server. I am asking about live TV through Comcast with the HDHomerun Prime with Plex. Evidently it has to do an extra step or 2 for Live TV streams through the server.

Edit: Regarding the clients, I'll be doing 1 or 2 direct (no transcode necessary really), and 3 or 4 external streams of varying resolutions based upon devices like phones and such.

This is my guess as to what you bought,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/NooElec-NESDR-SMArt-XTR-Bundle/dp/B06Y1FDDBF

what did you buy?

u/VA7EEX · 1 pointr/raspberry_pi

I just finished up my project to record and render satellite imagery with a raspberry pi and an RTL-SDR.

Heres an image of Northwestern USA/Southwestern Canada taken by NOAA-19 just a few hours ago. There is a plethora of information out there on how to do this.

u/freshthrowaway1138 · 2 pointsr/AskScienceDiscussion

amazon has them.

The updated model came out 4 days ago for $100

If you want to make a cheapie spectrum analyzer you will find it difficult to be cheaper than a $20 USB SDR dongle

u/IMA_Catholic · 1 pointr/flatearth

> You can't even take a photograph of your equipment/software/calculations without showing your coordinates? Editing them out? At the very least, explaining how you reached your conclusions, omitting your location but including everything else? After all these times I've asked for anything, even a trace of substance, even a hint of proof that you've done your experiment?
>
>
>
> Yeah right, you're completely full of shit. If I had spent 100 comments claiming I have a cat and a swimming pool, and I was basing my entire point of view on this, and someone was repeatedly demanding proof of this, you'd better believe I would have posted a photo of my cat, near my swimming pool, including my Reddit username for verification, long, long ago.
>
>
>
> This is the kind of thing people do when they're not full of shit.
>
>
>
> I don't give a shit where you live. Probably some shitty apartment. You think I or someone else is going to waste the time and money to track you down and..... do what exactly? Murder you? For believing in orbiting satellites?
>
>
>
> You're stupid as fuck.

This is what the SDR looks like https://www.amazon.com/NooElec-NESDR-SMArTee-Bundle-R820T2-Based/dp/B079C4S2BT/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1537138510&sr=8-5&keywords=software+defined+radio

You also wanted the raw data remember? Given that it is GPS it encodes my location doesn't it?
