Top Reddit comments about Face Blushes:

u/Feeling_Pretty · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup
  • What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall? NYX! They are great all over. Shadows, blushes, liners, and lippies are great.

  • What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products? My favorite face product has to be a primer. I like Hard Candy's and Revlon's. They make your face super smooth and feels free. My favorite cheek product has to be NYX's blushes they are pigmented and adds the right amount color. As for lips, I am loving the Revlon's lip butters. I just recently got some and I thought they were over hyped, but they really are super nice. Smooth, great colors, and somewhat lasting.

  • Least favorite product? My least favorite product has to be CoverGirl mascaras. I feel like I committed a sin saying it. I don't like them. They're not that waterproof and they don't really do much to my lashes. They look natural even when I have 3 coats on.

  • What is the best makeup bargain? The best makeup bargain has to be ELF. Super cheap products, yet they have quality. They have some pretty neato eyeshadow palettes and their brushes are super soft for $3.

  • What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?) Essence This brand is mostly towards preteen girls and gets over looked. However, their gel eyeliner is really amazing and cheap($4). I might even say, it's even better than Maybelline's Eyestuido gel liner. I find it less smudgable, more waterproof, and the pot doesn't dry as fast.

  • A drugstore product that is overpriced? Flower. I know it's made by Drew Barrymore, so maybe that's why it's a tad more expensive; however, the product isn't that much special compared to others.

  • Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!! Wet and Wild Walking on Eggshells trio and this. Not my pictures, but I've seen it is a dupe for many mid end to high end colors.

  • Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype? The hype is gone, but when it first came out Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush was not worth the hype. It was cute concept, but it was not a useful blush. It was hard to apply and difficult to blend.

  • What is the item you most want to try from the Drugstore? I really want to try ELF HD blush. I've never tried a blush like this and it looks really neat! And I can't find it anywhere besides online!

  • What item would you want from your wishlist? I'm borderline crazy about blushes and I want more NYX cream blushes(they're not an add on from other sellers). I got one and I'm super obsessed with them.

Heart Drugstore Makeup! This was super fun and I loved doing this! Thanks for hosting, summer! :)

Such a fun contest! I HEART DRUGSTORE MAKEUP!

  1. Hmmm...ELF and NYX are always tied, but I also have a special place in my heart for Cover Girl only because growing up it was the only thing my mom would buy me :-)

  2. Face: (I guess it is technically eyes) I really love Almay's eye makeup remover pads. I am pretty convinced that they use unicorn sweat or something. I have never found anything they can't take off.
Cheek: NYX Blush in Rose Garden is amazing. I keep it in my purse and it always give me the touch of color I need, with out having to risk carrying my NARS blushes.
Lip: Burt's Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm rocks my world 100%. I will not leave the house without this stuff! Seriously guys, it doesn't leave any kind of nasty residue and it keeps your lips smooth and moist for 4 hours! I also love all of their tinted balms. They seem to add the right amount of color.
  3. Maybelline Fit Me Powder. I know a lot of people really like it, but I feel like it makes my face look terrible! and when I try to use a brush in it, it goes everywhere. It was really hard finding a color that matched mine and it was just an overall bad experience. I recently bought the Fit Me in a blush. Not all that happy with that either :-/

  4. The best makeup bargain in my opinion is NYX and this is why: working at an Ulta, I love being able to show people the NYX line (it is amazing how many people have never even heard of it!) and the quality of products mixed with their awesome prices! They have so many dupes and just overall great products! AND they have something to fit every age group or style!

  5. I really think that Hard Candy tends to get overlooked. I have a couple of their jumbo lip pencils and I have been very happy with them. AND THOSE POLISHES! I have yet to find glitter polishes as amazing as Hard Candy.

  6. Even though I can't survive without it, Burt's Bees is crazy overpriced. I wish they would lower the price.

  7. Right now I have really been wanting to try Revlon's Pink Pout! I have heard that it is great dupe for MAC's Snob! Not my picture, but here. http://i.imgur.com/TmFSpCn.jpg

  8. I have a hard time being impressed with Physicians Formula. Overall I just think it is overpriced and the product is not that great.

  9. I want to try anything from the Milani line. I have only heard good things!

  10. http://www.amazon.com/l-f-Blush-Candid-Coral-0-168/dp/B00373FPKC/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2WXLEZFNBSG0Y&coliid=I1B9FLDIBNNIAJ
I have been lusting after this for a while now lol

This was so much fun! Thank you so much for hosting :-)

What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall? Physician's formula for sure!

What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products? Face is physicians formula, their concealer stick has great coverage and I feel like it's not gonna burn my face off or anything. I also like the physican's formula shimmer strips for the cheeks, and I AM IN LOVE with the Almay Liquid Lipbalms - I want them ALL!!

Least favorite product? Covergirl eyes shadows have never been the best, and I honestly don't get the wet and wild love a lot of ladies here have. I've tried most of it - and it's not great to me.

What is the best makeup bargain? It's a toss up between clump crusher and Yes to Blueberries facial wipes. Those are my FAVORITE make up wipes and they're some how magically hydrating too. But clump crusher is just as good if not better than a $20+ mascara - so that's a real bargain.

What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?) That's a good question! I honestly think the Almay Liquid Lipbalms get overlooked - even though they're so new. As soon as I tried one I was SURE they'd be the next Revlon Lip Butter, Clump Crusher, etc. but they haven't caught on like I thought they would. But I'm probably just unique cause I have a THING for color saturated lip balms.

A drugstore product that is overpriced? Revlon Lip Butters! I tried them, they're pretty good, but $7-$10? No.

Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!! Elf always has the BEST dupes. Like, down to the packaging. Their blush bronzer duo is an exact dupe of the Orgasm/Laguna duo for Nars.

Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype? Color tattoos. Sorry guys, I don't get it.

What is the item you most want to try from the Drugstore? I've been dying to try Essie's apricot nail treatment - but I feel weird spending $8 on it! The package is so pretty and my nails always need help!

What item would you want from your wishlist? This guy!

This is awesome! Also unless it took me forever to type this I think I'm the first person to enter! Thanks for the contest summer! :) :) :)

Also I Heart Drugstore Makeup!!

If you have some time to go through it, I think this article is a really good rundown for anyone confused by/scared of blush! I find the pictures in it super helpful. For fair skin tones, I would recommend being wary of some traditionally "nude" blushes that have brown/beige tones (like burberry earthy). They can seem less scary than bright colors, but I find that if you don't have a lot of brown tones in your skin, adding brown-toned blush just registers as muddy. I prefer to opt for brightish or pastel colours (they look more like a "realistic flush" on my skin tone) and just use a light hand and a big, loose, fluffy brush like this. My favorite powder blush is Nars Deep Throat, but I also really like Milani tea rose.

If you're comfortable trying cream/liquid products, and have a mid-range budget, Glossier Cloud Paints are really nice and very forgiving (I have puff and beam and I love them). I just apply these with my fingers.

If you're nervous about lipstick, try a tinted balm like this one from burt's bees. Also remember that if you're used to your face looking a certain way, any departure from that is going to feel kind of shocking so maybe give yourself some time to adjust during the process of deciding what you like. Good luck :)

edit: wait, just in case it's unclear, I wanna say that I don't endorse the linked article's hard-and-fast "there is one way to do blush" approach. I don't think that's true! I like blush applied high on the face (igari style) or across the nose, for example. "Flattering" is whatever makes you feel good. I just think it's great to learn the 'rules' so you can break them on purpose, if you want.

u/arieltron · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

My input:
I think a undereye concealer/highlighter combo could really open up and brighten you eyes. I use an ELF one that works well and is super inexpensive.

Use highlighter on your brow bones and inner corners of eyes and undereye concealer under eye before applying mascara. To blend concealer, stipple the edges but don't over blend because you want a lot of the pigment from the concealer to remain on top of your undereye circle.

The other thing I would suggest is not a traditional makeup item, but it's cheap. Get sleep, lots and lots of sleep, and drink tons of water. It will help give you a bridal glow.

Edit: also beg your mom or someone else close for an early wedding gift. Have them treat you to a facial and brow mapping. You'll look so polished for your big day!

To help with the glow, I looked up an orgasm dupe and I found this never tried it but it looks gorgeous!

For me this community has been a never ending inspiration! From pushing my boundaries and skills. To making me feel cared for and comfortable in my own skin!

Best advice: don't wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect!

Congrats on your upcoming nuptials KP! Good luck with your no buy!

So your best best is to get stuff from Amazon Prime. Since you don’t typically wear makeup, I think a simple look will work best for you. I’d stay away from foundation since if you’re not used to wearing it, it can feel heavy and itchy. Concealer would be good to try though, a little bit under your eyes and on any blemishes will even out your complexion without it being too much—try this: L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer, Light Ivory, 0.28 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VKIJPNE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CPxXAbWJPHCHC

For eyeshadow, I like to blend a matte brown in my crease and then put a shimmery skin-tone color on my lid to make my eyes pop. I’ve heard good things about this one: wet n wild Color Icon Eyeshadow 10 Pan Palette, Rose in the Air, 0.3 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077V5CTXN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rWxXAb163N4AT

I use this mascara and it works well: L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Washable Mascara, Blackest Black, 0.28 fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XF2TR11/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_63xXAb0DTNT87

I like to use a glowy blush to make my skin look healthy, something like this: Milani Baked Blush, Luminoso, 0.12 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00518N2JC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_f9xXAbC4MPGHM

And lastly, I like a tinted lip balm to tie everything together. These look really pretty and taste good too! Revlon Kiss Lip Balm, Juicy Peach https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KI40DHM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4byXAbANQY65A

These can all also be bought at drug stores, so if Amazon isn’t an option, I’d see if you can get a grocery service to pick them up for you, like Instacart maybe. Good luck!

NYX Blushes

Not exactly makeup, but most makeup ladies I know love to keep up our inner beauty She'll probably need to relax and wind down eventually!

Makeup remover wipes

Concealer

Eyeshadow singles

Creamy eye-shadow

WET N WILD IS AMAZING AND SO CHEAP!

BROWS!

If she prefers something more sheer on her lips

Beauty blenders

If you want to pick something up at a physical store, you can use this thread from MUA for good drugstore brands that run pretty cheap usually :)

If you can't find anything good from this, here's some Brands I suggest:

  • Maybelline (lippies [usually], glosses, and the FIT Me foundation & concealer are amazing) Amazon/CVS/Walmart/Rite-Aid/Ulta

  • Wet n Wild (eye shadows, lippies) usually on Amazon w/ free shipping and <$5 so no worries

  • ELF (Studio line brushes [the others are ehhh] and blush) not everything is on Amazon, but the site has lots of deals and sales all the time

  • NYX (lippies, brow kits, eye shadows) CVS/Amazon/Ulta

As you can tell, yes, I'm really really into makeup

Hey there girl! I don't see any makeup answers yet in the comments, so I'll tackle that question.

Makeup Starter Kit

  1. My coming out process ended up moving much more rapidly than I expected and I was out to most all of my friends and some of my family within a couple of months of accepting that I was trans. Once I stopped being ashamed of it, it all just started to flow. The only serious coming out conversation I have left is with my dad, which I'm intentionally delaying because he's going through a lot right now and it will almost certainly result in our estrangement.

  2. My therapist and my friends, absolutely without a doubt. Supportive friends make a huge difference. They let you see what life can be like, which gives you the hope you need to keep going.

  3. I'm not sure what island you're on, but I did some searching and found the Rainbow Family 808, who in turn had the Lavender Clinic listed as a resource. They're based out of Honolulu, but if that doesn't work for you, I'd call the Rainbow Family directly and explain that you're trying to look for a gender therapist and wanted to know if they had any recommendations near where you live.

Good luck! Feel free to comment or PM me if you have any questions.
u/varmintofdarkness · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

One thing that might help is getting a different hairstyle. Your dye job has grown out and the blonde tips look kind of like the style that was really popular among the "drama geek" boys when I was in high school. Even just trimming off the dyed ends would do a lot to help you.

Also, try using a light colored eyeliner to brighten up your eyes- [Holika Holika Pink Topaz] (http://www.amazon.com/Holika-Jewel-Light-Waterproof-Liner-08Pink/dp/B0087XTD3W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1413754792&sr=8-1&keywords=holika+holika+eyeliner) is a good one, I use it myself.

Others have suggested contouring, which is good advice- I suck at it though, so I can't give you any help there, but if you need advice on blush then go right ahead and ask me! I have tons of it. My personal favorite is the Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color but if you're in the US they're ridiculously expensive- but they do give you such a nice, healthy glow. Nars Orgasm blush is good as well, but again, kind of expensive. (Although the Sleek Rose Gold) works well for a fraction of the price).

If it makes you feel any better though, your features don't really scream "dude" to me, and from what I understand going on hormones actually changes your facial structure. If you got a haircut I really think it would help you.

Good luck to you!

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Hey there :) I'm pastelpink. My favorite makeup products are any lip products. Lipsticks, lipglosses, lip tars...I just love them all :) I'm really loving MAC's Viva Glam I right now.

I'm new to makeup, so it's hard for me to decide on a favorite makeup look, because I'm always trying new things. However, I do love neutral eyeshadows with a bold lip.

One interesting fact about me is that I taught my cat to play fetch!

Here is my add-on item. I'm starting to experiment with different blushes, and I don't have an orangey colored one yet! I'm just dying to try it out :)

Thanks for doing this!!

u/tehcuteness · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup
  1. /r/videos is my bored on the internet site, but I always click top and watch the videos I haven't seen yet. I'm about five pages into the top section now. If not that, then I go to AV Club's tv section and I read the reviews for tv shows. If I haven't seen it yet, and I find it interesting, then I go to TV Muse or http://vodly.to/ and find a link so I can watch it.
  2. My perfect birthday meal is shrimp tempura sushi, unagi sushi, and sweet potatoe fries. So, basically, everything fried. And then for dessert, superman ice cream or blue moon ice cream. This means that I'm no longer lactose intolerant, and I can eat whatever I want :)
  3. This or if they're out then this.
  4. Random fact that I learned recently is that the bottom of the NYX lipsticks actually have product in them. This is RAoM old news, but I was out of town when it was posted!
  5. Flash This

Thanks for having a contest! :) Happy half birthday.
u/Sieberella · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

If you're just starting out the biggest advice I can give you is go with ELF products. They're cheap, good products that won't break the bank if you decide all this make up stuff isn't for you.

When doing my face (i'll leave lips and eyeshadow out) here are the steps I take:
***

  1. Primer! Squeeze out a drop on your finger tip, then put a tiny bit on your forehead, chin, and each cheek and massage in. This will help your make up stay on, give it a nice even playing field and just makes it look so much better.

  2. Blemish Control. Now, you can use this pen if you want, a lot comes out at a time and can be a pain to cover up, I prefer this but you'll run out of the green first, but it's nice to have all the other colors for contouring. Put a bit of the green on any redness on your face, a little goes a long way! If you go with the contouring pallet, you can use the yellow to counteract any purple on your face (under your eyes) and you can use the purple to counteract any yellow on your face.

  3. Foundation! if you have a foundation you love, stick with it. I personally use Covergirl. And liquid or powder, it's totally up to you, I just work with liquid better. Now, how I do this is I put about a finger tip full on my forehead, chin, and each cheek. I use my hands to rub it in, UNLESS I have a lot of green on my face for blemishes, then I'll use a brush to rub it in. Go down your neck line a little, but not too much.

  4. Bronzer!. This will give you some dimension and added color to your face. I won't go over contouring, but if you're just doing every day make up, this great. I take a brush like this combine the four colors in the palette and go over my cheeks (below my cheek bones), run a little over my forehead and down my T-zone, and then I use the rest to go behind my ears and down my neck a little to create a blend.

  5. Blush! Now it's blush time! Get a bit on your brush, smile big and just do the apples of your cheeks while brushing a little towards your ears.

    And you're done!

    ***

I would suggest looking at ELF's actualy website, as some of the prices on Amazon were really high, plus they always have great coupons!
u/devodeevs · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

So I don't actually have the Lorac Pro Palette yet, but it's gonna happen...lol. And my fall shade is gonna be Garnet for sure! I mean come on, look at it, it's stunning!

If I get picked I'd like the Sigma Small Contour Brush. I also have my eye on TheBalm Down Boy blush...but surprises are fun too!

I'm gonna tag /u/StormyHiccups, just because :)

Thank you for hosting and happy birthday!!

u/housesnark · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

so fun! unfortunately I don't have a ton of super bright eyeshadows (and I did this at night), so I was pretty limited. but I did my best! here's my look. =)

I haven't seen anybody else do this, but here are the items I'd like if I win! nyx blush in taupe or skin79 snail bb cream. thank you so much, I loved doing my eyebrows!

u/Aoibhell · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

I found it was easier to start subtly with a nice contouring blush like NYX's Taupe. I approach contouring as if I was sketching a portrait. I'll brush some of that Taupe underneath my cheekbone, then put a highlighter on top (sort of above the cheekbone). I use the incandescent light powder from my Hourglass ALP, but I have to go pretty light, since I'm already very pale. I've also heard that Stila's Kitten eye shadow makes for a nice highlighter. Definitely don't skip over the eye shadows when looking for a good highlighting shade! To finish off the contour, I'll brush a line of blush right down the middle of the contour & highlight lines. .. that kind of brings it all together and blends.

I could talk contouring all day... lol.

u/cleverpseudoname · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

My friend /u/Quixle got me this awesome little cream blush from Canmake, it is a corally-light pink with a subtle glow to it that I wish my camera could capture better. The formula is lovely too and it's the perfect size for my travel kit. Here it is swatched and all.

My favourite blushes are Etude House Cookie Blushers and the shade Grapefruit Jelly always makes me think of spring. It's a bright pinky-coral and a little goes a long way, and here it is on my cheeks.

u/eloiselangdon · 1 pointr/MtF

I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:

u/gleechick609 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Sure thing! Step-by-step, comin' at you.

  1. Make sure area is clean and dry. Put face moisturizer on it and let it soak in.
  2. Put primer on, not just on the marks but all over the area. This is actually an important step because sweat and clothing are going to be working against you all day so having primer on there will help the makeup adhere to your skin mo' betta. And it'll just look smoother.
  3. Put a color-correcting concealer on. I used green, but yellow would probably also work (green cancels out red tones, yellow cancels out purple). Put the color correcting concealer ONLY on the marks, not the surrounding skin (aside from a little bit of blending so the edges aren't too sharp). I used this flat foundation brush, but fingers might work as well.
  4. Put on your normal, skin-tone concealer. Apply this directly on top of the color correcting one, and also into the surrounding areas to blend it. I used this brush to stipple it on. She can look up youtube videos of how to stipple, but it's basically just bouncing the product onto your skin.
  5. Brush on a thin layer of translucent powder. This helps set the first layer of concealer so that you can pile on more layers without them muddying or blending together, since you want to create a layer effect and not a puddle of concealer. I used this powder and this brush to do so. Any translucent powder and large brush will do the trick!
  6. Repeat step #4!
  7. Then repeat step #5!
  8. Use your normal foundation and stipple brush for a final layer that should be pretty seamless with the rest of your skin.
  9. I chose to do a final layer of translucent powder, but that's because I live in Southern California and it's hot and I need to be prepared for the gym. I'm sweating a lot of the time. She could probably go without.

    Good luck!

Here are a couple great wallet friendly drugstore items that she might like and I've included links so you can see what they look like - I didn't go into things like concealer or foundation because she needs to pick out the right color herself but if she wants recommendations for those just let me know :)

comment content: I'm also assuming that you are still learning makeup basics, so here's a list of a few things that I think would make a solid set which you can find on amazon or, most likely, at your local drugstore and won't break the bank:

Yay skincare! I've really transformed my skin from awful and dry to soft and glowy! Here is how-

Morning and night

  1. Wash with CeraVe hydrating cleanser
  2. Spritz with Urban Decay b6 vitamin spray
  3. Wait for that to dry and then apply a few drops of my Moisturizing Seaberry Face Oil by Fresh
  4. And at night after all of that I dab on some Miracle Worker eye cream serum stuff by Philosphy

ilovethedaisypup woo! thanks for hosting, i also love to see everyones skincare regimes! :)

This video is where I first learned to contour. Also, all of her videos are brilliant. On the recommendation of a few folks in here, I bought NYX blush in Taupe for contouring. It works pretty well. Very matte, nicely pigmented...might be a little brown for my skintone, so I just use a very light hand. And you can't beat the $6 price tag. I also use matte bronzer sometimes too. (I have "warmth" from bareMinerals. If you can get a sample somewhere, get it. It might be the best bronzer ever)

Hooray for another flash contest!!

Blue Scandal has this NYX blush in Angel cheaper and with free shipping.

Easiest breakfast item that I make and the family loves:

Sausage Bake

  • 2 cans Crescent Rolls
  • 1 lb sausage
  • 1 pkg cream cheese

Roll out one crescent roll can into a 9x13 pan. I always go ahead and bake this for about 6-7 mins, otherwise the bottom might not bake all the way and will be soggy.

Cook your sausage, drain, and add cream cheese while it is hot.

Spread mixture over layer of crescent rolls

Roll out second can of crescent rolls for the top layer.

Bake according to crescent roll instructions.

    Easy and delish!

I use an inexpensive primer I found on Amazon that I like better than Smashbox called Emori, not sure if it's AB or not.

My current routine (this is one week after I got the giant Tarte box with everything) is typically Skinfood Salmon concealer (my favorite concealer so far, creamier but stays, ousted Boiing), Aqua Petit Jelly BB in the lighter version- usually I use my fingers or one of those toothbrush brushes), Peripera or Etude tints as I mentioned with my ulta tinted balm, the TonyMoly powder which as I said blew me away, I have eyelash extensions so nothing there, and I have a cushion blush in a tube that I like a lot but I just got the other powder blush I mentioned. I also have and like the Missha cushion, but I like Aqua Petit Jelly more.

Waiting on this because I love this brand, it's a cotton candy setting spray?

Sorry that wasn't more enlightening but it has links :) I was just surprised to be AS entranced by AB makeup as I am by AB skincare because I was a MUA for a long time and have always been a product junkie and now I use my stupid expensive stuff on days I'm not going anywhere :O

ETA: I really have to check into eyeshadows now. I've kind of hit a wall because my whole face is handled, and I do want one of those TonyMoly bunny glosses!

oh it's so much fun. The top comments in this thread have some great tips. Also to get you started:

  • Great video by Lisa Eldridge, who I loooove.

  • A lot of light-skinned folks use NYC Sunny bronzer, but it's a little too orange for me. I use NYX Taupe blush instead; just glancing at your photos, we have similar skintones and you might want to try it.

  • This is a SUPER fun thread another redditor did where she photoshopped contouring for other MUAs.

My advice: go ham at home, assuming you live in a safe space and slooooowly ease into it outside. One piece of clothing at a time. A tiny bit more makeup than last time. You get the picture. It's very easy to get a look you're not intending to have by "overshooting" to the fem side immediately.

As for makeup, try starting with a BB cream and some super subtle blush.

Here is my pup Lilly! She's a rat terrior mix. She's almost 3 years old and a huge cuddle bug.

Lilly is OBSESSED with my (mean) cat, who's name is Kitty. Kitty just kinda comes and goes as he pleases. He's old and grumpy!

BONUS picture of my sister's new puppy (I'm obsessed with him) [Teddy!!](http://i.imgur.com/zWlXLub.jpg} He's a maltipoo and sooo cute and fluffy.

Some funny pictures: my family was trying to get a "family photo" with Lilly, Teddy, and my brother's dog (Tucker) and this is what happened.....chaos.

Welcome! Purple is a great color for green eyes! You could try out some blush too. NYX has some great colors and the you can't complain about the price tag. I would recommend starting with a color similar to your own flushed cheeks. Depending on your skin tone, NYX Pinched seems to be an almost universal color. And don't forget your lips! A tinted lip balm can really tie everything together and make you look so polished, even if it is a just a mascara and lip balm day.

Oh what a lovely contest idea.

So I'm like the aftermath of a tornado. I like paper. I read books not kindles and this stems over into my work. As a grad student I read a lot a lot a lot of journal articles. And I print them out (double sided!!) and well...it means that when I really get going there's papers in my hands, papers all over the desk in ways that look organized to me but aren't. There's papers behind me, papers in a circle on the floor, papers on top of books, papers tucked into pages of books, papers with marking and papers in an unread pile. Just so much stuff!! Thankfully library desks are large and my rooms desk is even bigger. To give you an idea, these are what was on my desk while writing an essay over break and this is what I'm currently working with for a paper. It gets messy.

  • Not having to bleach my hair ever again, or messing with it at all, to be honest. I've always HATED styling my hair. It's very very thick and I just don't have the patience for it. If you're pale and cool toned, NYX blush in taupe is great (except that it builds up a coating quite quickly so I keep having to scrape off the top layer!). Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's one of the products Boots are stocking, but you can get it on Amazon.

the second set is more expensive because it has far more brushes, and believe me, like artists brushes, makeup brushes can set you back a pretty penny, if you want to go all out.

I have a set of Real Techniques and I do like them a lot, so I'd go with them, especially if she's mentioned them, If you want to get a little crazy get here these two things to go along with the brushes, they're for cleaning purposes:

[Brush Cleaner] (http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Makeup-Shampoo-Cleanser/dp/B00ED6FV5G/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1417813820&sr=8-16&keywords=makeup+brush+cleaner)

u/TheRealShwftyShady · 1 pointr/weddingplanning

So first I make sure my face is moisturized with whatever I'm using at the time (I haven't really found any particular kind I prefer) then I apply this foundation and I start with the five dot method, and blend out with a make up sponge. Then if I have any blemishes I use a tiny bit of this concealer on them. After I have an even base I move on to doing my blush, which I apply on the apples of my cheeks, and then I'll take the sponge I used for my foundation to lightly blend the outter edges of that. Next I fill in my brows as lightly as possible with this gel, and I take a thin brush with a tiny dab of foundation to go around the edges of my brows and get the shape I want. Then I start my eye shadow with the darkest color I want to use in the crease of my eyelids and on the outer corner of my eyes (holding a piece of tissue paper under my eye when I do this has really helped me keep this step more neat), and on the rest of my lid (except for the inner corner) I do a mid to light tone, then I finish by adding a really light color to the inner corner and blend into the rest (I mostly use my fingers for all this because it's just what I'm used to). I don't use eyeliner right now, so I just take a liner brush and line my top water line with a shade of dark brown eye shadow (this is probably why I'm having transfer issues on the bottom, so I'll probably end up getting an eyeliner that doesn't do that). After all that I use this mascara , starting with the base coat, then gel, then fiber just on the tips, and then one more gel coat. Lastly I use this lipstick in rose, and I take the same brush I used on the edge of my eyebrows to do the same thing around the edges of my lips to keep my lipstick from bleeding. Finally once I'm satisfied with everything I do a light spritz of this finishing spray.

Phew lol! I've never actually paid attention to my process, so sorry it took me so long to write everything out!

I'm just starting to get in to it myself.
I follow this basic visual guide for the dark colors but I modify the highlighter because I don't like to look that made-up on a daily basis. For highlighter I apply it down the center of my nose, in between my eyebrows, and on the top of my cheek bones only.
A lot of poeple like NYX taupe for the dark color but I grabbed NYX Terra cotta because taupe isn't sold in stores.

That's so annoying. Here's a non add-on listing for it on Amazon, at least?

Apparently Taupe will no longer be stocked.

The good news is that it's still available here! I'm not sure if it's completely discontinued, or just no longer stocked in Aussie stores anymore.

I have not seen it in my store, ever, nor a spot for it on the shelf. But I do know it's easily obtainable from amazon if you really really can't ever find it at ulta!
