Alright, first...Happy Early Birthday!!!

Now on to face things.

Skincare

First of all you should check out r/skincareaddiction. Even if you don't want to join the community the FAQ is great.

What I do for my normal/oily skin is every morning and every night I wash with CeraVe Foaming Face Wash which is recommended for oilier skin. So you might want to check that out.

Every 3 days or so I exfoliate with Epicuren which is just from my mom's shop but it's a nice deep scrubs without being too abrasive. You don't want abrasive like with say St. Ive Apricot scrub because you're actually tearing your skin and that's just not very nice. You want to gently exfoliate.

Once a week I use a LUSH face mask. My favorite is Love Lettuce because it's refreshing and exfoliating. Second favorite is definitely Cupcake. I feel so clean and bright after it.

Wipe off your makeup before you go to bed. It's bad for your skin and bad for your sheets. Whatever you do to take it off, just get it off. I use vaseline. It's cheap and easy on my sensitive skin.

Clean your brushes. Clean them. Seriously. What I do is after every makeup application I get a tissue and something with and edge like the edge of my dresser and I wipe the brush over the tissue over the edge to get all the excess makeup out. Then every 2 weeks I do a deep clean. Get a bar of some kind (towel rack, clothes hanger) and rubber bands. Get some warm, running water, and either some baby shampoo or some brush cleaner (though honestly I just use shampoo) and wet your brushes, bristles pointing downwards always. You don't want to get water trapped inside the little metal/plastic attaching ring thingy. Add a dot of shampoo to your hand and swish that brush around. It'll be gross. Good. You'll always remember to do it now that you know how gross your brushes get. Rinse bristles down. Dry bristles down by wrapping the rubber band around the handle and attaching to your rod/hanger.

Makeup

This is what I cannot live without

  1. Naked Basics. This is the best $27 I have ever spent in my life. I use it every single friggin day. All of the colors are perfect neutral mattes from lightest light to darkest dark. I even use one of the colors to fill my eyebrows. It's perfect.

  2. Wet n Wild Liquid Liner. I've become a liquid liner addict. It really helps make it look like I have eyelashes. The brush is very firm and very thin so I always end up with a line where I want it.

  3. Urban Decay 24/7 glide on liner in Smoke. I have very light eye lashes. So I tight line.. Trust me. You want to tight line.

  4. Clump Crusher I love this mascara. It really is non-clumping and while it doesn't give me the longest lashes in the world it makes them look fuller because there's no clumps.

  5. Smashbox BB Cream. This is just the BB cream I use. It does what all the BB creams do but I happen to match the 'Fair' color very well.

  6. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. This shit smells like chocolate. I'm not even joking. I'm new to bronzer, but it's perfect for my skin tone.

  7. Sephora Blush. I'm still learning about blushes but I like that this one is matte. I'm not a sparkle face girl.

  8. Lipstick. I have too many to choose. See this comment I did where I swatch and rated every lipstick I have.

  9. E.L.F eye shadow primer You need primer. No. You need it.

    Makeup For You

So if you're just starting out again you don't want to go spending a stupid amount of money before you figure out what you like. So here are my suggestions for you specifically.

  10. Eyeshadow. Now if you can afford it, I highly recommend Urban Decay Naked Basics. But that's $27. So in lieu of that I suggest you get some Wet n Wild Eyeshadows. Maybe this one or this one.

  11. Eye shadow primer. Go to target and find the ELF section and get primer. It's a dollar and it will make your eye shadow amazing. No reapplying no smudging no creasing. Just perfect perfect eyes. It comes in other colors too, you may want to get a shade darker if you want to match your skin tone.

  12. Eyeliner. I would say get a pencil in either black or dark brown. I don't know if liquid liner is right for your eye shape but if you want to give it a go then you do whatever you want; it's your face.

  13. Eyelashes. Get a lash curler. Two to three curls and you should be good. I'd say black mascara for you.

  14. Eyebrows. I'm not an eyebrow expert but you're probably going to want to shape and fill in your eye brows (unless you love them just the way they are). For shape I'd go to a professional first before you wax at home or go plucking away. Then for filling in you can just use an eyebrow kit. Although I've heard complaint that dark eyebrows are the hardest to find a matching color for :(

  15. BB Cream. I hear Etude house kicks butt and it won't break your bank.

  16. Concealer. I love Maybelline 24 Hour Superstay Concealer it's awesome. You want to blend that stuff too, don't just dot it on.

  17. Blush. I think maybe a peachy blush but pictures don't always show stuff right for skin tone so maybe you need pink. I can't really tell.

  18. Bronzer. You've got great cheek bones. I would skip this for now. Unless you're super gungho in which case: I'd check out The Balm.

  19. Lipstick. Cheap and amazing lipstick is NYX and I think a nice natural shade would look great on you. But seriously, if you live near an ulta, nyx is like $3.99-$5.99 for lipstick. It's amazing. Or everyone goes gaga for these Etude House Bunny Glosses.

Anyway, I think you look really great and that's the best start is being confident and having a natural beauty. Also I love your hair. But if you have any questions just let me know :)

I refuse to enter the contest because it's your birthday and it should be all about you. I don't know how much you have to spend, but I always have a rule to buy myself jewelry and things to make myself feel and smell pretty on my birthday, so:

  • You should to get an Essie polish because they're great. Personally, I would choose this color, but the neon and sparkles are great as well.
  • You should get this because I hear great things about this system and how it's even better than a Clarisonic.
  • And you should get these because they're cute and cheap and they'll make you happy.
Happy birthday!! I hope you have a great one. <3
u/Bzttid · 3 pointsr/transpassing

Google it, then.

(A) Nothing, I'm not trying to attack you or anything. You asked for brutal honesty and it just doesn't help you when you're trying to pass with makeup.

(B) Moisturizer isn't going to matte your face throughout the day over your makeup. By itself maybe, but still.

Again, just CC, look how you want.

This is a bit heavy but it's your preference.

You aren't a guy, you're a girl. Literally, right now as much as you may not feel it, your hormones have made you biologically female. Also, it will be a very healthy exercise in moving past the concern of what people think of you.

After you shower, when you're getting ready, and whenever it's tangled. I don't know, just brush it? Run the comb through your hair until you don't feel resistance? Again, google it, it's something that I've been doing since a very young age so it's a bit hard to explain. It will make your hair softer, healthier, promote growth, and train it to go a certain direction rather than just going everywhere. Don't yank clumps, hold your hair between your scalp and the tangled hair and brush through. Also, go look for some sort of frizz control or detangler hair stuff. Also, conditioning will help. Price is one factor, and people's reviews are another. There is an absurd amount of info on the internet: google it. And also, Head and Shoulders is junk. If you have a problem with dandruff consider using Nizoral two times a week.

To me, it sounds like the self hatred talking. See someone, express this. You need to get past it. If anything is poisoning your mind it's yourself.

Well, if you feel like you look weird with makeup then maybe you need to take a step back and understand that what you're doing isn't working and you need to change something. Not all makeup products are equal. You need to get better stuff that fits you.

Well, you need to. And it's not even a "guy" thing to not care about skin, it's just an uninformed thing. You need to care about at least your skin and your hair. It's part of basic care for yourself. If you don't take care of your skin you get cancer, and if you don't take care of your hair it'll become matted and damaged. I get the exhaustion part, that could be a number of things. I'll reference a few of them in the next few lines.

  • First off, what's your diet like? Diet will affect EVERYTHING. Food is fuel, and if your fuel is shit, your engine is gonna run like shit. Make sure you're eating veggies, fruits, and healthy proteins. Avoid processed food like the plague. This could also potentially help your energy levels as when I used to eat like shit I felt tired ALL the time.

  • Second, do you take any vitamins? I would personally look at a good multivitamin. Go to your nearest health food store and ask for a good multivitamin (without potassium obv). Also, I would personally suggest a B-complex, which will help massively with energy and with mood. A few other good ones would be C, E, fish oil capsules (omega-3s), and biotin.

  • Third, wash your face with cleanser once a day (usually at night) and with cold water in the morning.

  • Fourth, moisturize your skin twice a day, morning and evening, after you wash your face.

  • Fifth, physically exfoliate two to three times a week instead of your night time routine, or (not and) chemically exfoliate according to the chemical exfoliants directions. (Curology.com will formulate a custom chemical exfoliant for 20$ a month, works pretty good, is what I use)

  • Lastly, get some skin masks. I love Korean sheet masks for how fun they are. Skin masks are healthy and make your skin look glow-y, but most of all it makes me feel girly and it's fun!

Hair dryers are cheaaaap, and your hair would benefit from one. You could probably get one for almost nothing at a goodwill nearby. Head and shoulders, like I said before, is bad. All sorts of drying components to it, just not great. Like I said before, I use nizoral because if I didn't I would have an insane dandruff problem (due to serrb derm), I'd suggest it if you do have flakes, if you don't get something good and suggested by the curly hair sub I linked earlier.

Well, I can't say much there if you don't like it.

Hi, please check out this link.

http://www.reddit.com/r/acne/comments/1bs7nv/the_redditors_guide_to_acne_2013/

Now after you check that out I want to tell you what I took from it and how it helped me.

I decided to purchase acne.org product with Benzoyl Peroxide

http://www.amazon.com/The-Regimen-Complete-Acne-org-Treatment/dp/B0016836RY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1394788775&sr=8-2&keywords=acne.org

You may find a better price elsewhere, but if you do buy it please
WATCH THEIR REGIMEN HERE: http://www.acne.org/regimen.html

After 1-2 weeks of use, I noticed that all my acne became very smaller, micro but still visible. Then about a month in, everything pretty much cleared up!

Here is the kicker and maybe will save you some money! The only product that has Benzoyl Peroxide is The Treatment. The cleanser removes dirt, oil for the treatment to work and the moisturizer is self-explanatory.

I'm still using the product now but I only buy The Treatment on it's own and have my own store brand cleanser and lotion I buy at target. I hope this works for you!

ANOTHER THING! I wrote this on the amazon review but you may not have catch it, Benzoyl Peroxide is a very strong chemical. when you first use it, try only a little to make sure it doesn't have any reaction. The first time I used it, I would say there is a tingle sensation but nothing bad and after a while I immune to it. Also note that the product WILL BLEACH/ discolor your clothing, pillowcase, blanket. So make sure only use it when you are heading to bed and have a white pillow case, white shirt so not to stain them! I learned this the hard way, bleached 2-3 of my favorite shirts.

Hope for the best!

I'm really going to try to spend at least ONE DAY in public wearing my purple lipstick! I actually had a conversation with another redditor who wanted it so bad but i've only worn mine once inside the house so I should get some use out of mine D: it's rimmel kate's lipstick in 04 which is the upper left corner one.

I'm linking this but if I won, i wouldn't mind any gift much below or above its value. Every glam is appreciated :D however i linked it just cuz im really too lazy to wash my face LOL it sounds like I'm gross but I mean like pretty sure you're "supposed" to wash your face for like over a minute but most days it's just a quick cleanse and then I'm like f this i give up

tagging said redditor who wants the lipstick i have! /u/cowbundles. also tagging /u/roseatesg because its int!!!!! that never happens! She deserves a glam :)

Thanks for hosting! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Nature Republic has a Bulgarian Rose skincare line, with a very nice rose smell. It looks like this:

Bulgarian Rose Moisture Essence

Bulgarian Rose Cream

Also, non AB, but you might like Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses:

1000 roses serum

1000 roses day cream

1000 roses beauty oil

The beauty oil is very nice, or you can get a sample starter kit.

u/baronobeefdip2 · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

Yeah thanks, But the side bar doesn't have anything in cream form at a 5% concentration, just pads. everything is at least 8 to 10% concentration of AHA except for those pads. I am guessing that I should keep to cleansing until later on if the scarring doesn't go away? Because all the AHA exfoliants seem to be at the most part 10%. I am a little confused here. Can you recommend a chemical exfoliant, All I see are those pads which contain BHA and not AHA.

UPDATE: So BHA is a fancy word for Salicylic acid according to research, I have the cleansing gel from burts bees which contains 2% salicylic acid which isn't a lot and seems gentle. Should I use this in the place of an exfoliator? I know it doesn't say exfoliator on the label but SA supposedly goes deep down under the first layer of skin and dislodges whatever crap is in there to make things clean again. If my research has lead me to believe this correctly. This is the gel I have been talking about, it has 2% concentration of SA which is a BHA, I have been using it as a spot treatment on my forhead and it improved the skin in which where it was overnight. Can I use this to exfoliate, it's not a scrub.. However though this stuff needs to be rinsed off whereas I was under the impression that the cream reccomended in the sidebar was softly rubbed into the skin like a lotion where as the skin absorbs it and the AHAs are free to do their work. I am very new to this skin care stuff. My mind is still kind of set on the Alpha Hydrox that was recommended in the sidebar, I just need to know if it's going to get rid of my red regions

Miniature painting!

I've played Tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons for years and years now, and miniatures were always on the periphery of the hobby. A few months ago, I got some really nice modular dungeon terrain for my birthday and started looking into miniatures to use with it.

I ended up finding a wonderful hobby - buying unpainted miniatures and painting them how I want. Adding texture, shading. At times it feels like a genuine art. And despite my limited talent, I end up really proud of the things I produce. Plus, it's a great way to spend time with my fiancee. She'll often come home from work and we'll paint miniatures until dinner time. Here's a small album of some of the things me and my fiancee have painted.

We do end up spending a good bit on it, but it's a lot of hours of entertainment for the cost. By the hour, it comes out cheaper than most hobbies. That said, I am starting to wear out brushes and can tell the difference between good ones and bad ones. I'll need to buy more of these soon.

To anyone else who might be interested, check /r/minipainting for tutorials, questions, discussion, and of course to see other people's cool minis.

I'd say you have mild acne. Do you often have breakouts?
Im on my third month supply of IMMUNE Acne Treatment. It's a 30 day kit but it does a good job of managing my acne. Before that I was on acne treatments with Benzoyl Peroxide... yea not a fan of those. They dry your skin albeit they do fade it out a bit but really not worth it when you have better options. So things like Proactiv are really outdated but people dont realize that...
If you want something good then i'll highly recommend this one.

My current routine:
wet face

apply CeraVe Foaming Cleanser(https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Foaming-Facial-Cleanser-Washing/dp/B01N1LL62W/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1543554976&sr=1-4&keywords=cerave%2Bfoaming%2Bfacial%2Bcleanser&th=1)

After having applied cleanser to all of face I use this brush for approximately one minute anad then I rinse my face with water(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071DZG44Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

After using the brush/finishing the cleansing process I use one of these pads and I apply it to all of my face
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GF1PNL/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews)

I let my face air dry for like 30 seconds after using the stridex pad and then I apply this moisturizer lotion (https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Moisturizing-Lotion-Hyaluronic-Ceramides/dp/B000YJ2SLG/ref=sr_1_5_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1543554993&sr=1-5&keywords=cerave+moisturizing+cream)

I believe that I need to start using some sort of sunscreen, no? If so what should I go for? I don't really know where to look for them just by searching "facial sunscreen" on amazon. (https://www.amazon.com/EltaMD-Clear-Facial-Sunscreen-Broad-Spectrum/dp/B002MSN3QQ/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1543555607&sr=1-4&keywords=elta+sunscreen) This one looks good based on the reviews but 1.7 ounces for $25 is kinda pricey considering that I'll be using the same amount of sunscreen as I would for my lotion. I have normal skin. Any advice on my current routine or input on what sunscreen I should get that's great for the price would help. Thanks.

I highly recommend Paula’s choice three step acne kit. It’s a lot more gentle that proactive and it’s worked wonders. Also, face oil as a moisturizer works super well for me. When my skin is dry it overproduces oil and I get bad acne. Paula’s choice has a great niacinimide moisturizer as well!

I'm thinking of trying out the Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur; I've got samples of them but they seem a bit thicker/tackier texture.

Lei Lani was definitely had a more lotioney texture. If you applied it on your hand, it "dissolves" and... sort of stains the skin. The effect isn't very pronounced but noticeable if you did a before/after.

Using it makes you look like you're having a good skin day; unstressed, plump, bright, etc.

I'm currently looking at a few products, namely:

Skinfood Premium Whitening Finisher

The Face Shop White Seed Real Whitening Essence and Finisher

Peripera Oil Capture Peach Sun Finisher with SPF 50/PA+++

Amazon puts the average reviews at 3.5. For some, it works great, for others it didn't. It doesn't seem to work that well with sensitive skin based off the reviews.

COSDNA shows several ingredients to be an acne/irritation trigger.

Atomy Deep Cleansing

Atomy Eye Cream

Atomy BB Cream

However, those ingredients were last updated in 2012. The awesome thing is, their website has an ingredients list per every part of their 6 step skincare line.

Atomy 6 Step Skincare

You can run them through COSDNA yourself to see if there are any ingredients that could be a negative factor.

You should definitely ask your family members if you could get a sample of it to try out if you just want to jump in. The set seems to be pretty pricey.

Hope this helps.

Some non-drug remedies to consider:

Make sure you're changing your pillowcases at night. If you sleep on your side or stomach like I often do, bacteria and whatnot on your pillow can cause you to break out or make existing acne worse. I started rotating pillowcases, changing them every couple nights or so, and saw a huge difference!

Try a deep cleaning facial brush, like Olay's Pro-X. I've had friends tell me it is worth the ~$30, and after reading great reviews I'm heading out to get one this week! It's waay cheaper than the Clarisonic facial brush, or any other expensive treatments I've seen at Sephora and other stores.

u/kayleighh · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

This would be good for my health because my dermatologist said to get a Clarisonic unit but those are super expensive and this is apparently the next best thing.

Hello!

I started using a facial cleansing brush and Paula's Choice "Clear" line of cleanser/creams around Christmas 2016 and they have completely changed my complexion.

My mom/dad/brother all used the brushes before me (and raved about them) and tried to get me to buy one for months... finally my mom gave me one for Christmas, and I'm so glad she did! I use it about 3 times a week.

Breakouts are down by about 75 percent and I feel so much more confident.

Brush I use: here!
Paula's Choice Clear Line: here!

Good luck!

I found this one on a great spreadsheet someone made here on AB where they'd gone through the ingredients of a ton of vit Cs available on amazon! The smell of this one is pretty wretched, but you definitely get used to it. And for that price, it's well worth the smell. And for Galactomyces, I use the CosRX whitening one.

I just started using Evan Healy blue line. Someone over on r/rosaceans suggested it. Love it. Smells super nice. It's making my pustules from my rosacea go away without making me feel oily.

There's a sampler kit on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Evan-Healy-Blue-Face-Care/dp/B006KC7L6I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398724581&sr=8-2&keywords=evan+healy+blue

Hello! I’m looking for a good alternative to a discontinued product. etude house aloe moistfull
This product has brought my skin from acne infested carnage to the best I’ve seen in my whole life, unfortunately it’s been discontinued and current aloe products from etude house don’t do anything for me nor does the collagen line. I had no such luck with Benton aloe line or any random products I picked up. Could someone please help me figure it out?

I tried this one from amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WRFYCYS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_AfT2lk1afiESw

People are saying good things about the ones called SIO but they are a lot more expensive and I hadn't heard about them until after I bought this one for the neck. Good luck!

Ms. Chowder I missed your birthday!?!?! WHAT! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Anyways, I think you should totally get this. It will do wonders for your skin and you'll love it.

u/lobsterwithcrabs · 0 pointsr/WarhammerFantasy

I would recommend a battalion as well as an army book.

As for painting, I found it immensely helpful to paint the figures before I clipped them out of their brackets. The only thing would would need to pay attention to there is that you will need to add a small dab of paint to the spot that was attached to the bracket and you will need to know what pieces you are going to use and which you are not going to use. This was useful for me because you have something to hold on to as you paint (especially when detailing). It also allows you to paint areas that would be immensely hard to paint with any degree of detail or accuracy if the piece was already assembled.

Cheap brushes sets with which to paint:
Set 1,
Set 2, Set 3

Cheap Detail Brush: Brush

I own both of them as well and do the same thing with rotating them! They're both really nice.

Link to a set of both on Amazon for $10.58 at this time of writing with free Prime shipping: http://www.amazon.com/Daiso-von-Baviphat-Sleeping-Hyaluronic/dp/B00M1KO8DW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1450145199&sr=8-2&keywords=daiso+sleeping+pack

u/GangstaBroMaster · 0 pointsr/Drugs

Probably not.
But you don't need that shit for acne bro.
You need some decent soap.
Get this

and some of this

use both daily, and in a few weeks ur skin will look fuckin amazing.
antibiotics are the lazy/easy way, that isnt good for your body.

u/EgregiousWeasel · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I was going to, but I bought the Olay Pro-X brush instead. I really like it quite a bit.

u/herencia · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Woohoo! Your jewelry is breath-taking :D

I'd pamper myself with a facial scrubber/cleanser.

Kitten mittens

u/jesterkid01 · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

i have one from Olay available on Amazon that i really enjoy. Even though it runs on AA batteries it works in the shower too.

u/Araxias · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I have pretty bad acne scars/ acne and one of my favorite things to use is Origins Modern Friction. I apply some to my face while dry in circular motions with my fingertips then I splash some water and use the Olay ProX face brush and that has helped tremendously!

u/9ys_7mo_13days · 1 pointr/HotWheels

Anyone try micro brushes when dealing? Been thinking about picking up a set and trying them out.
