This week I finally got to make something that my dad made for family dinner almost a year ago: chicken mafe. I don’t know how exactly how he came across this recipe, but it was delicious. The peanut flavor is very prominent but is more balanced than a classic peanut sauce. The tomato, ginger, and the hint of spice combine to create a delicious sauce. The chicken thighs (I used boneless-skinless) were juicy and tender and extremely flavorful. This was a stellar dish and a great way to use a lot of cabbage without having that strong, slightly sulfurous smell/flavor.

For my MetaTheme, I went with a West African spin on a classic: a bissap mojito. Bissap is the West African name for hibiscus so this is basically just a hibiscus mojito. I got the hibiscus juice/syrup from Amazon and it is delicious. It added an interesting sweetness to the cocktail to counterbalance the high level of lime juice in the mojito.

I wanted to try coating my daily driver before fall and winter set in, and to see how good it looks and performs on its own.

Steps taken:

>Wash car with pressure washer, using Griot's car wash. Using IPA as a drying aid, dried car. Clayed car using AutoCare 6" clay pad (knockoff nanoskin). Applied Nanoskin Iron Free to all surfaces except glass and let dwell and pressure washed off. Used TRC towels for everything.

>Touched up a couple of paint chips with Dr. Color Chip after these steps.

>Spot compound using Lake Country MF 3" cutting pad and Menzerna FG400. Polished using Lake Country MF 3" polishing pad and Menzerna SFP3800. Applied Optimum Paint Prep to strip old wax/sealant and polish.

>Using a Lake Country MF 5" cutting pad, applied CarPro Essence to entire car. Let set overnight for max curing and no need for a second wipedown.

>Applied Gtechniq CSQ, Opti-Bond diluted tire dressing, AngelWax Bilberry Wheel Wax.

Total Time: 8 hours

I didn't take a ton of pics of the finer scratches or swirls, but the paint was in pretty good shape overall before, very light marring from washes and clay. They were easily taken care of with Essence since it hides some of them and removes others. I also don't have after pics of water on the car due to cure time. It is supposed to rain in a few days and I want to give the car the max time I can for it to cure properly.

Links above are where I bought the products, except for GG car soap, which is OOS at DI.

Overall, a long process that should produce lasting results. I plan to top with Geyon Wetcoat since it is cheaper and easier to use than EXO (although they aren't the same thing at all).

Definitely agree with going on a walk before leaving. If you can, quarantine him in a room so he doesn't have access to the whole house to chew on things.
When we leave the house I either put the tv on HGTV or Food network (channels that won't have noises to upset the dogs) or I turn the radio on. I find this helps to soothe them.
If it's feasible, find a dog walker to come play with him while you're gone. It has done wonders for our pup.
Also, our vet recommended Rescue Remedy when our springer was having anxiety attacks. Also works well during thunder storms. All natural, just a few drops does the trick. You can infuse Pandan leaves into a syrup to get a very bright green. The powdered version will likely give you the brightest color. It also has a wonderful nutty flavor that is great balanced with other ingredients.

I've used the pre-made B'Lure Butterfly Pea flower extract that appears to be all natural ingredients with underwhelming success. It takes a lot of it to really give an intense color, but it's cool when it changes to pink when it comes in contact with acid. Try freezing a lemon or lime slice in an ice sphere (freeze the citrus slice by itself before putting in the sphere mold with water), then watch the drink change color as the ice melts.

ok. i also have severe anxiety, probably due in large part to an extremely abusive and traumatic childhood. the only way to "cure" it, really, is to get therapy. i recently found a therapist who is willing to do sessions over skype for only $60/hour (and here is another one who does it for $90/hour). you may want to hit them up. but otherwise, the things that work for me are yoga (especially tantra, yin, and restorative yoga which incorporate a bit of meditation), also pranayama breathing exercises such as alternate nostril breathing and breath of joy work SO well. and as far as natural remedies go, passion flower extract works almost as well as xanax for me. it was recommended to me by a pharmacist in malaysia. i never had much luck with valerian. try these things and i think you will feel a lot better. feel free to PM me for more advice.

I use passion flower several times weekly. I really enjoy the euphoric/sedating effect. I have an extract that is nice to just consume/drink, and I have cut up stem/leaves that I smoke and make tea with. Smoking and tea are both very effective. The smoke is harsh and hot.
I also have 12 new plants a few inches tall i am growing from seed. Excited to see how well they grow further.

the extract I use https://www.amazon.com/Bulksupplements-Passion-Flower-Extract-Powder/dp/B01GINSNHY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502659343&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=passion%2Bflower%2Bextract&th=1

Rescue remedy : Bach RESCUE Remedy Dropper, 20ml - Comfort and Reassure Flower Essences https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000RFTCZW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SY8GDbVDTFYRY
This is what did it for me the 3rd time . Had to take more than the 4 drops advised though ... Still have to take the mod 2 now

Try out rescue remedy. It's a natural anti-anxiety tincture you can find on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Bach-Rescue-Remedy-20-ml/dp/B000RFTCZW) and places like Whole Foods. I have experienced anxiety ever since quitting and this is something that has really helped me. It's 100% natural and you don't need to worry about getting addicted er whatever.

There has been some very promising studies done on the effectiveness of Passion Flower for anxiety. This brand available via Amazon has great reviews: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Answer-PassionFlower-Vegetarian-Capsules/dp/B000I48M3A?th=1

Saffron (best bang for buck, and great stuff; I bought it a month ago and I still am not halfway through; a little goes a looooong way)

Skullcap (Nature's Answer by far has the best, most consistent concentrated tincture I've ever had, and I've tried Botanic Choice and a few others too)

Lord I feel your pain, OP! Saying that, I invested in some Yarrow Flower Supplement pills on Amazon (also in the UK), and taking the reccommended two pills a day seriously cut my cramps down to a fraction of what they were! I was amazed at how fast they worked, and I'm so pleased with the new lack of cramps! :) Here's the link if you're interested!

P.S, I have those same jeans! <3 I absolutely adore new look high waist skinnies, they're the bomb! And they make my booty look amazing, too

I'm also a big fan of floral flavors in my Food, so I keep [rosewater](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AO2HEM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Pa5PzbJN62GHB,[orange-blossom water](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001949REG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Cw5Pzb3AYNV0W), jasmine essence, lavender bud sugar, wild hibiscus flowers, butterfly pea buds and extract and candied flower petals like violet and rose in my pantry and cupboards at all times. If you want to jazz-up a cup of tea, make a pound cake more fancy, whip up a cocktail or make your own gummy or hard candy - having floral ingredients like these on hand lets you make any meal more luxurious.

u/AllanfromWales · 1 pointr/Wicca

I'm not usually much on homeopathy, bach flower remedies and the like but 'Rescue remedy': http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RFTCZW/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_g121_i4_sh is genuinely good at reviving plants (as well as animals and humans). However, unless you can establish why the plant is failing and correct it, that's not going to be more than a short term sticking-plaster.

u/fangs- · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I used to take supplements, specifically vitamin K and Yarrow. They worked wonders for me so I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Non Prescription choice is Rescue Remedy...no side effects.

Prescription is Clonazepam , but its like taking a sleeping pill.

FYI you can delete the args and still refer to the product, e.g. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00427PLYW/

I wonder how well the extract would work for coloring/flavoring?

It's similar to Kalms, if you've heard of that. It's an over-the-counter product supposed to aid stress relief. You can get it in drop and pastille form too.

u/newaddress1997 · 2 pointsr/gameofthrones

It's not too bad on Amazon US, but I just got this since I only make drinks at my apartment, and never more than 4 at a time. If I brewed tea each time I'd end up dumping a lot of it, and it would change the flavor of the drink.

u/zeekaran · 7 pointsr/cocktails

Color = sweet, so you might have to live with that and make Midori drinks, unless you're just adding food dye or ...

FLOWER EXTRACT!

Amazon example, not shilling.

You can make blue and purple drinks with this, provided your cocktail is normally clear-ish.

Apparently blue corpse revivers are a thing but that sounds terrible and a waste of Lillet and absinthe.
