Coming back with that list

UNDER LAYERS

THIN LAYERS - I always wear a long slip under my dresses in the winter, I have the following:
Longer beige good for midi dress/skirts

shorter, black and grey, good for knee length

I also have a large collection of Uniqlo Heattech tank tops, scoop neck tee's and turtlenecks in different colours. The last one is for work, but the other two are game changers in adding warmth under stuff. The Heattech leggings don't work for me, as I have 45" hips.

I buy Memoi Sweater tights - I have 6 pairs in 4 colours that I rotate through and they've held up for 3 years for me (cold wash, hang dry).

I have several undersummer shorts (thigh chafe is a thing for me). They are NOT cheap, but I find them super comfortable, no matter the temperature, hot or cold.

PETTICOATS. I buy mine from Hell bunny - I don't bother ordering them online anymore, because the customs is stupid in Canada, so I wait until my local gothy store has the colours I want. I have white, red, hot pink, black, pale pink and purple petticoats. I think I want a yellow one and I'll be set.

Last are fleece lined leggings - I buy mine from costco, but they're kinda meh.

~~~~
BOOTS.
Wearing knee high boots makes a big difference, for a couple reasons - 1) extra layer on the leg, 2) You can hide any manner of extra socks under the boots, even if they don't match your outfit - so you scored a sweet deal on blue/orange technical wool socks? No problem, the boots hide them.
I have a wide calf, so I stick to Naturalizer's Jerri boots or the domenique's from Soft Moc (I don't know if they're still available, but they've got a fuzzy lining and they're SO WARM)
~~~~~

Most of my warm dresses are

- jersey knit dresses from Eshakti, with elbow length sleeves ( I own these ones: 1, 2, plus a couple others that are out of stock )

-two Stop Staring dresses I got from ModCloth sales (Plus a Prim Class Hero skirt)

- a bunch of Lindybop Audrey dresses (they pair really well with sweaters/cardis and petticoats. (I really like the audrey dresses because they can swing very vintage pinup or very office appropriate depending on your accessories). They're super durable too. I've worn them with a blazer and sombre belt to interviews and with petticoats and mary janes to parties.

a couple Micheline Pitt skirts - They're lined and/or heavy!

I also want to shout out to the XiaoLiZi etsy store - they do wool dresses, and while I haven't been able to sink money into them, a couple of my friends have and rave about them.

So when I get dressed for the day during fall/ winter, I'm usually putting on underwear, bra then sweater tights, undersummer shorts, and full length slip, then extra socks (usually stolen from my husband), THEN my dress and (if situationally appropriate) a petticoat then a cardigan/sweater. I also have a knee length skirted wool coat (London Fog, bought from The Bay) That'll usually last me down to -10 C ish. If it's colder than that, I'm wearing wool pants and leggings or my wool long underwear and jeans.

Hi! I'm not Muslim, but I am a modest dresser, and I thought that I might chime in.

One of the best things I've ever found is a half-tee. It looks like they might ship to you? The long sleeve and long sleeved turtleneck ones are so awesome, and they literally opened up a new world of clothing for me.

For the maxi dresses with slits, I typically wear leggings with them, but a pair of lightweight, loose pants could also be worn underneath. Or you could sew them shut? OR add a full slip underneath to cover your legs?

I always put a cardigan over anything that doesn't have sleeves. Lots of people like casual blazers for a more structured look.

Between leggings, cardigans, and half-tees, and slips, I find that I can make pretty much any mainstream item work.

My favorite outfits are: loose trousers and linen or cotton tunics, maxi dresses with a half-tee or cardigan to cover my arms, long flowing skirts with a tucked in (slightly) fitted shirt.

If you're wearing knitwear, I'm assuming you don't want the lace ones but rather practical ones. Besides those at JC Penney, I found similar but tighter ones at Free People that don't necessarily seem to be shapewear, and also some good options on Amazon.

I love this brand from Amazon. They're so soft and true to size.

This doesn't address the "what goes best with navy?" issue, but I just want to add [this slip] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IK5BQSC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1) as a solution for extra coverage under any dress that shows too much cleavage. I prefer this over a camisole because it lays smoothly and I don't have to keep tugging it into place, and you can wear it two ways for a straight or v-neck.

I wear a slip every time I wear a dress. I have two of [these] (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B019C3BCPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I bought on Amazon and they are comfortable and breathable.

If you want to smooth over the bumps your hips make under a dress, try wearing a slip. Everyone used to, back in the day, and it does all kinds of things to make you look smoother. Very comfortable, too.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about. https://www.amazon.com/Vanity-Fair-Rosette-10103-Neutral/dp/B000F5OXLM/ref=sr_1_9?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1540479615&sr=1-9&nodeID=1040660&psd=1&keywords=full+slips+for+under+dresses&dpID=31VVW6-GLZL&preST=_SX342_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

Here you go:

This is a very simple plain one:
Look what I found on AliExpress
http://s.aliexpress.com/Zb2AVbqA

But all you have to do is put the “real silk” or “genuine silk” or “100% natural silk” into the search bar and use the terms “nightgown” or “chemise” rather than “slip”. A bunch will pop up. I have this particular one in several colors.

And here’s a knitted version I have from amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Paradise-Silk-Knitted-Chemise-Sleepwear/dp/B00OUJYWM4/ref=sr_1_15?keywords=Mulberry+silk+chemise&qid=1566913473&s=apparel&sr=1-15

I have this slip in nude and black for dresses that would be too sheer otherwise.

I have the white one too. It's not a huge amount of poof like a pettycoat but enough that the lower part of the dress doesn't just hang straight doen
