Sounds like fun! I'll have to do this later

1.) Something that is grey: Pelican Gray Nail Polish. (on private WL)

2.) Something reminiscent of rain: Shower Curtain is a barrier between the bathroom tiles and cascading, rain-like, waterfall that flows from the showerhead. (on dream WL)

3.) Something food related that is unusual: Candy Mold. Chocolate frogs, anyone? (on under $5 WL)

4.) Something on your list that is for someone other than yourself. Tell me who it's for and why. (Yes, pets count!): Ice Cream Maker. No ice cream for me because I started keto last week. My friends and family would benefit from this when I make them some delicious ice cream. (on dream WL)

5.) A book I should read! I am an avid reader, so take your best shot and tell me why I need to read it!: The Knife of Never Letting Go. It's book one of the Chaos Walking trilogy, which has rave reviews. Apparently it's a dark, dystopian book full of suspense. (on high priority WL)

6.) An item that is less than a dollar, including shipping... that is not jewelry, nail polish, and or hair related!: Laser Finger Beams (not on WL)

7.) Something related to cats. I love cats! (keep this SFW, you know who you are...): Westside Warrior Nail Polish. Lions, which are really big cats, are warriors of the jungle. (on under $5 WL)

8.) Something that is not useful, but so beautiful you must have it: Origami Star Paper. I like folding these, but once I make them into stars, I literally have nothing to do with them. There's jars of them all across my house and all I can do is look at them (on under $5 WL)

9.) A movie everyone should watch at least once in their life. Why?: Song from Iron Man 3 Soundtrack. Everyone should see it because Iron Man + Tony Stark + RDJ = <3 (on digital WL)

10.) Something that would be useful when the zombies attack. Explain.: Spin-the-shot. If zombies attack, I would need to be drunk, so this would come in handy for some last minute fun before I turn into a brain eating zombie. Let's face it, I'm not surviving a zombie attack... (on $5-$10 WL)

11.) Something that would have a profound impact on your life and help you to achieve your current goals: Coconut Oil. Everyone on the keto subreddit raves about this stuff. Being a newbie to this lifestyle, I feel that if so many people had great results using this oil, that it would help with my goals. (on $11-$25 WL)

12.) One of those pesky Add-On items: Anti-stress face mask (not surprisingly, found on my add-on WL)

13.) The most expensive thing on your list. Your dream item. Why?: Globe Bar. I would feel like a super cool James Bond-esque spy who would have a secret room hidden behind a bookshelf. Plus I love alcohol and globes. (on dream WL)

14.) Something bigger than a bread box: Desk Easel. (on $11-25 WL)

15.) Something smaller than a golf ball: Earrings. (on private WL)

16.) Something that smells wonderful: Pink Punch Baby Lips (on add-ons WL)

17.) A (SFW) toy: Kindle. I would consider this a techie toy. (on dream WL)

18.) Something that would be helpful for going back to school: Fun Colored Pens. (on add-on WL)

19.) Something related to your current obsession, whatever that may be: Paints. My current obsession is painting! (on $11-25 WL)

20.) Something that is just so amazing and awe-inspiring that I simply must see it. Explain why it is so grand: Mug. I love love love this literature mug. I not only love the varying typography all over it, but I think that there are some really striking first lines of literature. (on $11-25 WL)

BONUS

1.) Real name: PM sent

2.) Made in Oregon: Handwarmer Mug

Edit: raffle phrase - fear cuts deeper than swords

In addition to the other great suggestions here I also like these things:

  1. This Travel Pill case it is large enough to hold 4 large pills per section, and has 4 sections per day.

  2. The Flip and Tumble Grocery bag . This bag holds a surprising amount, and because it fits on the shoulder, not carried in the hands, it makes it easier to carry.

  3. Table Mate tray table this is the cheaper version of what others suggested, and is a bit less sturdy, but if you are on a limited budget, it works great.

  4. OXO Good Grips Products I love the can opener, but any of their Good Grips products work great. They are specificly designed for people with arthritis.

  5. I feel the most important one of all, though, is a fuzzy comfort blanket . People underestimate how much better you can feel just from wrapping yourself in something soft and warm for a bit. Even if you still hurt, it can make you feel like you can cope with it better.

EDIT: I just thought of another thing. The whole homemade coupon book is cheesy, but the truth is that offering to help them with housework, do some laundry, or even just spend time with them is an awesome gift in most cases.

Got seating? Nothing sucks more than an apartment without adequate seating. Get nice seating. Sofas, chairs. I just bought a 7' foof chair that arrived today. It's not "grown up", but fuck being a grownup, it's the most comfy thing ever. Like a cross between a pile of thick blankets and a memory foam pillow.

Got a rug? Buy a rug that matches that seating. Helps define a space and brings a room together. Makes it seem intentional.

Got paint? Shit, son, go crazy. Paint the place. Look up what colors work best in big or small spaces. Consider just painting one wall. Also consider painting that wall a color that's gonna match your seating and rug.

Got curtains? Curtains do wonders. Don't make EVERYTHING the same color, but curtains can do just as well as an accent wall for tying a room together. On a tight budget? I am, and curtains can be really damn expensive. I had great success with these and the clips. Then, I got crappy king size sheets from Wal Mart, trimmed them down to size, and used the existing hem at the top of the sheet for the hem at the bottom of the curtain. Bam. As an added bonus, they're thin, crappy sheets, and alone, will let some light in through them for a great look. Mine are in front of the existing blinds for when I want real darkness, but a double layer will do the trick if no blinds exist. Just make sure your curtains aren't TOO heavy, especially if your drywall sucks, and ALWAYS use proper screws for mounting- the beefier the better, curtains get tugged on all the time, and when they're open, all the weight is resting on one or two points of the wire, causing great stress. I've had them rip out of the wall before because I was careless, and then you have to spackle and then there's tons of dust and it's just a mess.

So, your walls are painted, put shit on them! Not too cluttered. If you aren't a "pictures" sorta guy (And who is anymore? Don't we have walls on Facebook for that?), then you can use something else. I got one of those deep gallery frames in black and flattened some birch bark and put it in there. Looks great contrasted against a darker colored wall. Small shaped mirrors can also work, and in some spaces, larger mirrors on the wall can make the space seem bigger. I have a couple small round mirrors of varying sizes clustered around a mirrored clock- Got it all at Target.

Here's a trick to consider: Mount a large mirror on the wall opposite the TV such that you can see the TV in it. This has two benefits: One, watching a movie in the dark, it reflects the light, giving an ambient lighting effect similar to those TVs with the colored back lights that dynamically respond to the image. Two, it allows you to be able to see the TV from anywhere in the room, without facing it- a godsend when you need to squeeze more chairs in a small living room for guests.

Consider getting a head board for your bed. It makes it look and feel more substantial and grown up, plus, you can tie someone to it, if you're into that.

Make sure there's adequate lighting! Makes the place seem bigger, and friendlier, and better.

I'm also fresh out of college, and I enjoy doing this sort of thing. I've lived in my current place for a few years now. My roommates don't always give a shit about this stuff, but I do. I can think of more if you're interested. I'd be happy to post some pictures of any of the suggestions I've listed if you'd like, it's all stuff I've done myself around my place. Also, go wander around IKEA if there's one near you, even if you don't buy from there you can get design ideas.

I have moved countries 4 times now. What I usually do is sell off as much as I can to have money to buy the basics in a new country/state.

Like that I save on cost of transporting furniture and so on and instead invest that into things like a sofa bed and table, kitchen stuff.

It’s not easy but it avoids unnecessary costs.

Basics I try to buy fast are:
Sofa bed or a good air mattress (Amazon has pretty good ones for under $100, I have this one air mattress ) - if you can buy a sofa bed as it doubles way better as sofa to sit on during the day sofa ikea has good options sofa bed
Foldable table (again amazon, they are height adjustable and I can use them as table to prep food, dinner table and couch table , I usually buy 2) table

Most apartments in the US come with walk-in closets so that’s a great plus if not you can get pretty cheap roller wardrobes. A friend of mine has this wardrobe

It’s not much but it helps for the first few months and then over time when you have more money you start buying things like a proper bed, desk and so on.

I always prioritize kitchen appliances as I love cooking and will move the better ones I have but then buy cheap plates and so on.

Hope this helps to get an idea of what’s possible on a smaller budget

Hi I like this ikea Hyllis shelf hack (so affordable!) they are console/buffet height , and could run from lining to living room and accommodate dining needs in that room and media needs in the living room.

Because your room is relatively small and open, I think one long running shelf system will tie it together nicely without visually chopping up the space, and being very functional and useful. As well as pretty.

You wouldn't have to finish the metal and the wood in the same fashion as in this blog, just use the basic concept. Then your options open up to fit in with your style.

http://www.hometalk.com/8081499/hyllis-ikea-hack?expand_all_questions=1

For example the metal part could be painted or metallic paste wax (rubnbuff) to the finish more in line with some of your Pinterest items. The wood could be white washed, or you could go with white ikea countertops or cut stone if you could find sone light weight and affordable...

You might give turning the sofa then another try. And placing the reading chair near the bookshelves. You might be surprised how you can still enjoy the view and see the tv on the shelves... I'll do a drawing.

Your dining room is under the amount of clearance needed for comfortable use (I hate it when builders do this! It should be a minimum of 9'x9') so I would, if it were me, keep it very simple. That's where I'd put your rug! (You might check late season sales for outdoor rugs at places like a Target and Walmart etc. They could be on clearance and usually have great patterns and colors, as well be easy to clean for a dining area. Then I might do one over size art on the back wall. (I'll do a drawing) then just the dining room furniture. It will be very stylish, but also comfortable and I cramped.

For the cube shelf, (I moved it to behind the sofa in my drawing) you might consider leaning a few pieces of art (differing sizes) and accessories, rather than hanging a framed piece. It makes it more changeable, when you like, but more importantly, it feels less columnar and static.

You might consider an inexpensive swivel chair in a color similar to the reading nook chair. They don't have to match exactly in style or color but just feel related. This gives you more seating, and view out the window too.

https://www.amazon.com/Coaster-Swivel-Hydraulic-Tension--Black/dp/B00PB02ZL6/ref=sr_1_13?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1473635815&sr=1-13&keywords=swivel+chair ?

https://www.amazon.com/babyletto-Madison-Swivel-Glider-Slate/dp/B0077P3U6W/ref=sr_1_12?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1473635899&sr=1-12&keywords=swivel+chair

This also allows the reading nook chair (in my layout suggestion) to be both a reading nook chair most of the time, but when guests are over it can be part of the livingroom seating and work well...

I'm sorry it's hard to read my writing, my drawing app sucks sometimes...

But on left is the long hyllis idea type shelf (this could be hacked with Home Depot materials too, if you don't have an ikea) with the end closest to the dining room being a buffet like shelf and the rest working like a media center.....and the rest I hope is readable. Just ask if you can't read it or have any questions.

Oh I had written putting the tv on a swivel stand. Those are also inexpensive.

http://imgur.com/a/aq4Eu

Art can be diy-ed in expensively. Our sidebar has many resources and links for ideas. As well it has a rubnbuff link. Fir about $7 you could do most or all of the shelf legs. Really nice stuff and affordable.

And like mrs_shrew said! your ideas are great! and should all (any if them) look really well together in your space.

I love it!!! The only turn off for me is that you have tj tighten the arms ever 3ish months or they'll fall of or break, but if you just do it when they get wobbly you'll be fine. The other problem I had was that it came in different parts and you had to assemble it and mine did not come with instructions and thanks to the super generic name, I couldn't find any online and I just winged it and I build it fine. It's pretty self explanatory to assemble but takes a little thinking. Other that the tightening of the arms every once in a while and the missing instructions, it's a great chair. The material is quality fake leather and it's pretty cushy, idk if it's as good as a drxracer but it's very nice for the price and I really like the extendable footrest and the ability to put the chair way back, lay back on it and put your feet out on the rest. I would totally recommend it for the price of 99.00 USD + shipping (not amazon prime)

I will not claim it is the best, but I bought this PlaySeat and have been very happy with it.

In my case, I'm using it for VR sim racing with the Vive (and sometimes Oculus Rift).

For me, it is very important that my seating position in the seat closely matches the avatars seating position in the game, in order to really feel "in" the experience, and the Playseat delivers in that regard.

I like the playseat in that it was pretty good quality for the price, holds my wheel and petals and shifters nicely, and is nicely adjustable.

It is a tad bit flimsy in the post that holds up the wheel, but I found I actually like that because it transfers some of the wheel vibrations into the chassis, which while not perfect does add some realism. I added a pair of "butt kickers" to amplify the road and engine feel, and then a giant industrial fan to blow in my face to simulate open cockpit. Picture here

I don’t recall (or have access to the amazon account to them up ) the floormat, or the neat looking wall chargers models, but I found both on slickdeals at some point in the last year

I also don’t know where I got my coasters, anti-slip mats(under the desk mat), Hardwood floor, trim, Wall color and paint type, or quarter round from. All of those I worked with when buying the house 3 years ago.

Oh and last things seen I haven’t mentioned. Is the cable from the wall is a 6 foot monoprice CAT6 Blue cable. The TV you can just barely see on the left is a VIZIO E400i-B2 40-Inch 1080p Smart LED HDTV. And finally the deskmat a friend got for me from a vape shop for like $10, not sure from where though, sorry

I don't have experience with that chair in particular, but if you're looking to save some money I would recommend this chair: https://www.amazon.com/Homall-Computer-Executive-Ergonomic-Adjustable/dp/B01MRZ02TL/
I bought it last October and it's served me very well. The only issue I had was resolved by the customer service, which has replaced the hydraulic lift for me when it started dying last month (that's happened on every chair I order online).
I personally don't like arm rests, so if you depend on arm rests and being able to adjust them, that would be the main down side of this chair compared to the one you linked. I'm 6'2" and 240 pounds and this chair holds me very well

hope that helps!

u/OMGitsLunaa · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I just bought this chair off of Amazon. It is coming in the mail either today or tomorrow, and I can tell you how good it is after I use it. It has lumbar support, a head pillow, and arms that swing up, so it was perfect for me, especially in the price range.

Edit: chair is very comfortable, easy to assemble, and overall great build quality for the price. However, I am worried about its lifespan simply because its a Chinese knockoff. The manual is also hilarious, because they obviously used Google translate to write it

My kit is no longer available but here is the one my friend has which looks/performs exactly the same. The shop light isn't needed, I just had it there before I bought the softbox kit.

Not sure if you meant the table too, but this is the one I use. Best portable table i've ever owned, it has adjustable height and I can sit on it. The tri-fold board can be found at walmart or in stores that sells school supplies for $3.

I use my s7 edge to take photos. The key to getting crisp white photos on your phone is to set the white balance to match your bulbs(5500k) and raise/lower the saturation slightly depending on the how dark/light the item you are photoing is. Hope that helps!

u/chewylewis · 2 pointsr/BabyBumps

Here is the link for it! The grey is actually called Slate. It's a bit darker in the amazon picture, but it's very true to a slate color like in my pics. If you go with the Ecru, beware that it's not a pure white, more like an off-white or eggshell, according to the reviews. It's $299 with Amazon Prime shipping, if you have that subscription. Which saved us a ton of $$ on shipping from other places too!

for years i've struggled with sleeping problems. i hated resorting to medication because when i do sleep, it tends to be very deep sleep, almost nothing wakes me until my body decides that it is time. about a year ago i bought one of those giant bean bag things (comfort research on amazon, i'm not linking because i don't do referral stuff). I bought a 7 foot model (i'm a few inches above 6 feet) just for you know, a comfortable place to play video games. To my surprise, when I got this and set it up, all of my sleep problems instantly vanished. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but i doubt it. I'm slightly afraid of it, to be honest, at night I can never last more than 5 minutes without falling asleep. Its been a year now and the changes are amazing. I've had fewer episodes, my sleep schedule is borderline healthy and 'normal', my back pains (from an old car accident) rarely flare up, and when i wake up in the morning i am refreshed and energetic. I can't praise enough the changes that a new sleeping surface have made in my life. This particular solution might not be right for everyone, but i would strongly suggest at least experimenting with different mattresses, materials, etc. Healthy sleep and the right positions can make so much difference in our lives.

If you want to see what I'm talking about. If your insurance covers it, maybe this would help, too

So I actually recently bought this chair,

For the price it's actually pretty fair it is a little squeaky and the pillow wasn't like the perfect shape it had a corner messed up, but sitting in it for roughly 30hrs so far has been great! Feel like I got a good value

I use this #povertydesk. Works great because it's easy to move with for 3rd year and plus you can clear it off for beer pong after your tests. Got 2 of them at walmart for $20 each on sale and I set it up in an "L" configuration. More important is a good office chair to save your glutes/ back.

So far y'all, great responses and feedback!! Thank you! A few statements and then some questions...

Here's what I have purchased or am using so far:

  1. On the lines of rackmount equipment (power conditioner, wireless mics, possible locking drawer)... how do y'all organize these items? I was looking at like a 4U or 6U amp rack, and perhaps putting the mixer on top or inside it, but do y'all have different solutions? Hide everything under the tablecloth?

  2. I have a crewcab truck with a 5'8" bed, so 4' tables seemed ideal, but if I'll have a controller case and a possible rackmount case on the 4' table, that leaves me very little other room. I was thinking about the 4' Adjustable kind because I'm 6'3" and don't necessarily want to be hunched over for hours on end. A fold-in-half 6' table isn't ideal in my mind for strength, but I could be wrong. What do y'all do for table length/width?

    Thanks again y'all!!!

I looked at Herman Miller, their chairs look very nice. But the fact is I would not spend 600 dollars on a chair. Sorry, thats just my opinion. I understand why good chairs are helpful, but at the end of the day I don't think its worth it. I would not spend more that 150 dolalrs on a chair, unless it was really revolutionary. Not to say I don't care about my health, I would spend 600 dollars or more on a standing desk.

I'm not trying to sound pompous while saying this, I am really curious. What makes this chair:

https://www.amazon.com/Herman-Miller-Embody-Chair-Graphite/dp/B01DGM7ZII/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1537062133&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=herman+miller&psc=1

worth so much more than this one:

Edit: Thanks for responding in a conversational manner.

Edit: In my opinion, there are plenty of great options for 100 dollars or less. I can link a few. I might be wrong, I'm not a chair expert, but they look fine to me.

So I bought this guy on Amazon just a few weeks ago:

New Gaming Chair High-back Computer Chair Ergonomic Design Racing Chair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HNTLIM4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_AYDKzbJ2EX38K

And it's incredible. It has this built in foot rest that hides away, leans all the way back and all for $100 shipped.

But then my friend was selling some of his old furniture from his setup so he could upgrade, and the Dxracer as well as the longer desk everything's resting on he put up for sale. I already had the chair from Amazon, but the reason I didn't spring for a Dxracer was the price. I was able to get the desk and Dxracer for $200 even. It was the homie hook up for sure, but I'm glad I did. He keeps everything he owns in incredible condition, and the quality and fit and finish is far better than the Amazon knockoff. I just wish it had the pull out foot rest.

Now my gf has a chair to game in, and I get to sit in the dx racer!

If you have the room space for it, consider a nice foldup table. Pretty cheap, lots of space, and easy to clean, doesn't look that bad either. I personally use it and I recommend it if you need extra space. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DOZTM3O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_TR6uzb4G76Q5N you should be able to find at any store near you if you don't buy online

3 Samsung 32inch 1080p TVs. I got a lot of hate on this setup because they're not legit monitors. But I put my buddies monitor next to one of these to try them both and didn't see a difference. (They have game mode) I do play FPS's on them and see no input lag.

Anyway, I love this setup. Originally, I had the wheel on the desk but there was some movement on the entire thing. Once I got the cockpit everything felt 100 times better since the wheel was more secure. I highly recommend getting a stand for the wheel. There are a bunch of cockpits like this, more expensive or cheaper.

What I'm going to offer might not be ideal to others but with this budget, and avoiding threadripper. I would suggest you buy the best
Gaming PC - Use this for gaming, streaming, and to edit your videos

Replace 2 fans from corsair with ML120 both fans

I would suggest you wait until i7 8700K comes out and only use one build for the time being but if you can't wait here is my suggestion. With this budget you should have 2 builds for streaming, one for solely gaming and the other will handle the other workload. Also make sure to be very aware of how you will deal with storage and how much you potential think you will need for the future.

Honestly I’m really happy with mine, the lumbar and head supports it has really help me during long sessions. I wouldn’t spend over $200 for one though think more along the lines of;

this

or maybe this

Realistically any office chair with the proper supports that’s within your budget and looks comfy.

u/Fishy_Mc_Fish_Face · 3 pointsr/minimalism

I actually have one of these that I used for my laptop for maybe 2 years before getting an actual desk

It’s pretty neat your budget and it’s nothing special but it folds away pretty neatly.

... honestly I might still have my old one if I didn’t throw it out. The little plastic things are gone from the feet but if it doesn’t cost too much to ship you can have mine.

u/RouletteZoku · 10 pointsr/buildapcsales

I have a different brand chair (but my guess is they're all made in the same factory). Not a bad price considering free shipping.

This is the specific chair I have.

Here's another example of a clearly similar chair.

It was easy to assemble, is relatively comfortable, tilts/swivels and has adjustable height.

I'm not sure if this specific model can lean back, if it can't then I would say pass, and grab one of the other two chairs I listed since the price is similar, and the definitely can lean back.

u/TackleballShootyhoop · 1 pointr/cringepics

I just got this chair a few weeks ago. I didn't want to shell out a lot of money on a chair, but for $65 I am really liking it. It actually looks better in person, too. The picture doesn't really do it justice.

Get a chair with loblar support and good reviews.

I bought the gaming chair Hommal that is one of those race car style chairs with lombar support and neck pillow. Resembles IKEA brand.

It was around 115 bucks.

I have used it for a whole year every day for several hours and I can tell you now that it os by far the best chair ive used for desks / computers etc. And ive been using office chairs in the 100-200 dollar range.

Get something like mine or get a premium one. They seem to be trending but the utillity of them is great. Never has my back felt so good!

Anyways onto the details. Yes it's a cheaper chair. Yes it has flaws. The arm rests get loose easy but can easily be tightened with the tool they give you. Unfortunately mine squeaks from using it when I was heavier. My fiance has one too and hers doesn't squeak at all. It's rather comfortable and would reccomend giving it a shot if you haven't pulled the trigger yet. I was skeptical because of the reviews but overall its been a good chair for 100 bucks.

u/ficarra1002 · 1 pointr/Vive

Ah. I have a similar issue as my desk will be under my loft bed, out of range from the base stations, my solution is to just get one of these and putting it in the tracked area for seated games, then folding it up and putting it away when I'm not playing seated games. Though if you're in a different room than your PC, you'll probably have to get USB extenders to do that which is less than ideal.

Really hoping extra base stations become buyable soon after release. I'd love to have just one more for my desk.

u/FamousSuccess · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I feel your pain. I have a comfortable normal office chair. It's above average for sure, but it does lack some of the support really needed. I want to upgrade to something with more neck/head support. I've been looking at this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MRZ02TL/ref=psdc_668180011_t3_B0031LKYMY

Now I will say, you've got half a foot and 50 lbs on me. I can't speak to the sizing except that generally when I'm in these type of chairs, the top of the chair is above my head. In my experience with racing seats (real ones for cars), taller/wider folk get by just fine by purchasing a "Wide" variation of a seat. It's mostly in the shoulder that create the most discomfort, so accounting for the helps the most.

u/noeled_ · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Haha yeah they're just a bit expensive. I need a new chair as well, I think my current one is on it's way out. Too bad my budget is piss poor at the moment.

I have a Lorell which is pretty good except for the hydraulic piston which I replaced with a larger one. The mesh is very durable and fairly comfortable.

Just looking, amazon has some cheap mesh chairs and they look to be highly rated. Seat padding looks sub-par but the flip up arms is an awesome feature.

These types are the gold standard gaming chair but they are made for a specific body type and I don't fit that mold even remotely, I'm far too tall and wide for them so I've never even wanted to try them out. This is most likely a knockoff brand. DXRacer is the one brand I've looked at, they've been around a few years.

u/Zachkay · 12 pointsr/buildapc

Amazon has tons of chairs that are basically ripoffs of dxr racers and other fancy brands. I got one of these a few months ago and absolutely love it. I just took off the armrests because I don't like them in general. Super comfy, can play games for hours without getting sore or legs falling asleep.

Under $400...still seems crazy expensive to me, but far, far cheaper than the other solutions I've seen! Plus I think it'd be possible to mod the arms fairly easily to accommodate a yoke/pedal, stick/throttle, and keyboard/mouse setup so you can play racing games, flying games, space games, and regular games all in one chair. Throw a couple of bass shakers on the chair itself & voila, the ultimate multi-gaming cockpit setup!

The table has a high height which is perfect for this bike. I love it. I work 40+ hours per week at it and have clocked nearly 450 miles on the bike. I love it. My legs are more toned and my back doesn't hurt. I broke my tail bone about 4 years ago and still had awful pain when sitting too long. But, shifting my weight to cycle allows me to sit comfortably. A few times I have gotten off of the bike and moved it back so I could stand for awhile. It's light weight and easy to move.

I use the "OpenWheeler Advanced Racing Seat", which does let you remove the steering wheel and mount a HOTAS if you want.

I can't say how it holds up to its competition as it's the only racing seat I've ever owned, but it's very adjustable and works well for what I use it for. Only thing I couldn't do was reverse the position of my pedals (for rally racing), but in no way has it been a deal breaker. I use a gear shifter with mine and it took some elbow grease to secure it tight enough so that it doesn't wobble during use, but again, no significant complaints considering the price point it's at. I've had mine right around 1 year.

Openwheeler Advanced Racing Seat Amazon U.S.

It was available in different colors at the time I bought mine. It says unavailable in the U.K. for some reason (which is odd to me since the company is U.K. based afaik). I still see a few other similarly priced products though that look as good or better than mine.

Edit: Mine does have the center column which was off-putting at first, but hasn't proved to be an issue either. Still, if I were re-buying, I'd get one without that.

u/Chainheartless · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I bought a gaming or racing chair like the one below. Not that expensive and comfortable to sit in for long hours. It's got good support for your back so it's hard to slouch and get bad posture in one of these which is also important if your at your desk a lot. Do research on which one to get though since they have different models based on height.

u/CaptainFeather · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

Seems to be where they screw in. I've tightened them a couple times and it helped, but they were never 100% sturdy like I'd like them to be. I don't put a very much weight on them, I use the seat itself to resituate myself. It's not really a dealbreaker for me though, they still do their job. Overall I'm happy with the chair.

u/PrintsHD · 2 pointsr/buildapc

This chair seems pretty good for $65

I’d say you generally want to go for something that goes the length of your back and supports your neck. Also, some decent cushioning, no one wants to sit on a wooden plank.

Lastly and this may depend on your preference, arm rests. Ones that connect to the bottom and back of the chair so they don’t wiggle around, some people may not want arm rests so they can push their chair in under their desk, but I find them nice when leaning back and watching movies on my computer.

what's the name of the chair you got? i paid $150 for this: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/61TwFIBFdxL._SL1000_.jpg aside from having one of the lower prices, it seems to be well reviewed. it goes all the way 180* down to a laying position, and it has an extendable foot rest. the foot rest seems to be the big deal here, as more expensive models often don't have one at all, and others are known for being easily breakable. since you'd be taking the pressure off your hamstrings, it would prevent DVT right?

also, this chair has a metal frame and has a capacity of 300lbs, while other similar chairs come in at 275 or 250. there are 440lbs chairs for $180 as well. the cheapest is $100, and has bad reviews but would probably work perfectly for a smaller person: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HNTLIM4/?th=1

What I have is one of those 4 -6 ft folding tables from costco set up in the playroom. If I need to move it, the table closes up and we can clear it out, the kids can move chairs around, and its washable (kids ya know).
You can add that folding puzzle holder on top, keep the puzzle safe and still have the table to work on. All movable and portable yet stationery and convenient.

Well while it's a bit of a pain to set up, and isn't the most stable thing in the world, something like this is fairly common. One of these days I'll have the time (and money) to finish my home desk, but right now all of my gear is on some of those. It's a bit short for me, but it's better than nothing, and still higher than most tables.

Edit: Here are a some other, and perhaps better solutions.

I bought a set of china for like $40 from a thrift store several years before I got married. It's really pretty and I use it when we have 'fancy' dinners (we sometimes do xmas or easter or something at my house with a bunch of family - I bought a set of 'complimentary' (plain white) dishes and alternate if we have too many people). And we have our normal plates and bowls and stuff that came from Target or wherever when we moved in together that we use daily. We didn't register for any dinnerware. Instead we registered for this: http://www.amazon.com/Design-Toscano-Sixteenth-Century-Italian-Replica/dp/B001MA1W8G

u/coopcooper87 · 1 pointr/EliteOne

I just got a new chair a few weeks ago, and luckily the armrests go up and down quite a bit, so I should be able to lower them to accommodate a table. It's the rest of my room that is small!

I have a cockatiel cage in the room, along with an air filter/purifier to keep the dust down he produces so that takes up a bit of space. I am thinking something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-80251-Adjustable-Folding-Personal/dp/B0074HYWFG/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1510765575&sr=8-8&keywords=folding+tray+table

Should do the trick well enough.

u/mrjackm124 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Desk was designed and built by me and a buddy using pine wood from Home Depot. Decided to try something different by cutting out a "trench" on both sides of the top of table and laying RGB strips in and sealing them in with a frosted acrylic sheet. The acrylic was a bitch to cut out so they aint perfect but I'm very happy with the result.

We used this table for the first year or so of DND, it is roughly the same size as the one you are talking about getting. If you aren't using a play mat then it has more than enough room. Two people on each side plus 1 on each end is exactly 6 spaces. If you needed room for everyone's books and a battlemap then you'd be running into space issues but as you described you will be fine.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. It’s not the exact pewdiepie model with the same design, but it’s a substitute with basically the same specifications. Example

You are going to receive comments about how bad and gimmicky cheap racing gaming chairs are. It is up to you. If this is your budget and what you want, here is a great chair.

It's some racing style chair I found on amazon for cheap, here's a link https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HNTLIM4/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Just fish around for gaming chairs on Amazon. I've seen at least a few streamers using this.

This is mine. I enjoy it but I also upgraded from a total piece of shit. I like it because it’s a full sized chair but doesn’t have that “space cadet” look.

Same price as on amazon. Might not be as good of a deal as newegg would have you believe.

Either the Galactic Titan lego set that keeps eluding me, or this

u/tastefuldebauchery · 2 pointsr/CozyPlaces

OP said it's also a mini bar! I think this one is probably the same/ close.

u/LSDean · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Aside from the complete translated works of Oksanen and Tammsaare, 1st print editions of Hemingway, Orwell, Rand (I know), and Huxley, it would need a Drink Globe.

u/abaxial82 · 177 pointsr/educationalgifs

There was also probably booze in the globe you were spinning.

u/HeMightBeRacist · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

You could always toss a little liquor cabinet/globe thing across from the chair in option 1.

Edit: Boom

I’m nowhere near as you (172cm) but look up adjustable height tables. I use this, and it fits in my tiny hatchback.
