This book is about the song Hallelujah (which is a beautiful song) and how it became to be one of the most recorded songs in history. It was originally kind of a failure but somehow made it to the place where it is today where it has been performed by hundreds of musicians. I find it amazing that this song that almost didn't make it onto the album it was originally written for. When it did make it to the album it was a flop, yet here we are listening to this song that has become so popular.


fear cuts deeper than swords

I'll tell you how both sides worked out for me. First off I'll start by saying I am a girl. Okay, I went from years of being single to finally deciding to put myself out there and try online dating. I made this decision after being all anti-online dating because I wasn't really meeting anyone worth even talking to anywhere else. so initially scared shitless I decided to put myself out there for the first time. I decided to try out free sites at first (POF and okcupid) and see whats out there because I knew people who did the paid sites (specifically match.com) and heard the same mixed reviews from them. The big differences I found were the amount of people who were unemployed or had "jobs" rather than "careers" were higher on the free sites vs the paid ones which was going to be a given for me. I didn't want to date anyone who was unemployed in general but I wasn't opposed to a student going to school and working a job (because of the age I was at the time it was the same position I was in). Another difference I noticed was the people on paid sites were more likely to say they wanted something long term but overall I found the same amount of people looking for a hookup. I liked okcupid because I could answer all those survey questions and you could see other peoples answers. it helped me weed out potential "matches" to see who absolutely wouldn't work at all with me. for example I would not ever date anyone who does drugs, even if its a weekend type thing. although I never went out on a date with anyone from okcupid (mainly because their survey thing just showed me most people were assholes) people did contact me from POF that also had profiles on okcupid and it helped me weed out people that would say they wanted something long term but flat out admitted on okcupid that they were looking for a hook up.

okay anyway. I loved POF after the first day. I'm not amazingly good looking nor do I have a supermodel body but I was talking to people and enjoying myself. this was incredibly helpful to me because im kind of quiet when I don't know someone. like I said I had been single for quite some time (came out of a really bad relationship and wanted to complete school after taking a year off) so this really helped me get back into the swing of things and build my confidence. I went on a decent amount of dates with people I met through POF and honestly it was one of the craziest, most fun times in my life. I met a bunch of really ridiculous people as well.

the first guy I went out with I went out with after talking for like 2 days. his profile showed someone really attractive, we spoke on the phone and he made me laugh. when he picked me up I questioned whether or not he got the pictures he used on his profile from google images. he showed up an hour late in a completely different car than the one he told me to look out for. he wanted to take me down by the water near where he use to work so instantly I figured Im about to be murdered and my body dumped in the bay. within 20 minutes he was trying to stick his tongue down my throat and alternating between that and farting. not like a slip and we both laugh. no, like there may or may not be something seriously wrong with your stomach and you should seek professional help immediately. lets just say for those reasons and others we didn't go out again.

there was the guy who when we met and I thought he was going for a hug went for the makeout session. the guy who on the second date told me he has a weird fetish for dressing up in a Nazi outfit during sex. another guy whos pictures clearly didn't match up with how he looked in person. the pictures might have been from a year before that but the guy looked about 2 days out of some kind of rehab. he was a smoker when he previously said he wasn't. oh and he was missing teeth in person. that guy showed up with a huge bouquet of flowers and definitely his girlfriends car. there was the weirdo that said I insulted his friend who he spoke about....and I never met... The guy on the first date who asked me to move in with him. Oh and not to forget the guy who after messaging back and forth for a couple of days and I felt comfortable giving my number to began calling me like crazy that day. I didn't have free time to talk to him until that evening and when I did he kept talking about me coming to stay with him and then the NSFW fetish he has that really caught me off guard (feel free to ask if you really want to know but its def NSFW). Never spoke to that guy again.

After the fetish guy I decided I was going to deactivate my account. Luckily I never could figure out how to and started talking to a guy that we both mutually decided within the first week would never work out romantically within the first week but we had a great time talking. his job required him to sleep there a couple of nights a week and while he wasn't allowed to have his phone out he was allowed to use a computer so when I had free time I would log onto the site and chat with him on there. I guess it was kind of fate that I ended up being logged on all the time or I probably wouldn't have gone back on the site for at least a while. I ended up looking at my possible matches and saw this guy who I found attractive and from the looks of his profile sounded amazing. So I decided what the hell and sent him a message that just said "hi". A couple of hours later I got a message back and we started talking from there. Although I had overall had a fun time with my other dates over the year I spent online I didn't want to get into anything too quickly because I was convinced at that point that everyone was a weirdo so when he asked for my # I kind of ignored him a couple of times. I wont bother you with any more of my rambling and all of the details but a couple of weeks later we went out on our first date. Right now, years later, hes currently sleeping next to me, we're married, and our 2nd daughter is on the opposite side of me sleeping in her swing.

Online dating can be crazy but you have to learn from everything that happens. If anything you'll learn more about yourself and what you want in a partner. And as crazy as things can be it can work. Just relax and have a good time.

I'm gonna set my goal as learning to play my guitar! I bought a guitar to finally learn and I played it for about 2 days and then I got so busy with school and stuff. Then, when I had free time, I just sort of wanted to lay in bed and relax an stuff. I also bought Rocksmith 2014 to help me learn so I will probably be using it to learn! I don't plan on becoming a virtuoso in these 6 weeks, but it'll be a start!

I will try to get a video or a screenshot up of my attempt at some song on Rocksmith 2014 to show my lack of talent on the Day the contest clock starts.

Edit I just wanted to throw this in there. I have messed around with my guitar on "R U Mine?" by Arctic Monkeys and I plan on trying to master this song! I recorded a video of me trying to play it on easy mode and god was that bad. I Might Upload that video at the end of the contest along with a video of me playing it again at the end of the 6 weeks to show how I did.

Mine may not seems all that important, but I know it was incredibly important to a small child and it would be to me as well if I was in his place.

I was riding my bike along a path around a park. I passed a woman and a tiny boy, maybe 3 years old, walking. I of course smiled and she smiled, and I continued on.

Then about a block and a half distance up, I came across a stuffed rabbit laying in the dirt. It was mostly clean, so I knew it must not have been there long.

We were now about 3 blocks apart - the woman her son and I. But I didn't want to risk it so I scooped up the rabbit and rode back to catch them. It turned out, of course, that the rabbit was indeed his. And he was incredibly happy to have it back. She had not even noticed he had dropped it, but immediately was very thankful, knowing what losing it would mean.

So that was my good Samaritan story. I grew up with LOADS of stuffed animals and I loved each one, so I knew how important it was to try to return the rabbit. And I'm very glad I did!

Here's a little story about me and Pokemon. I loved pokemon so much as a kid that I knew all the pokeraps at one point and could not stop talking about it. I had to work neighborhood jobs for a very, very long time so that I could save up for a gameboy and a pokemon game. When I finally walked to the swapmeet that one Saturday morning (I skipped cartoons for this) and finally bought a gameboy pocket (it was yellow), I was ecstatic. From there, I RAN to the nearest Target store and went straight to the video games section. I originally wanted Pokemon Blue but it was sold out. However, they did have Pokemon Red and there was a dragon on it! SWEET! I paid for it with my hard earned money, opened it up right there, and put it in and pressed on.... nothing happened. there were no batteries :( I rushed over and found the cheapest pack of batteries I could find and used my money I was saving for lunch that day to pay for it. NOW, I had batteries in the gameboy, pokemon red in the cartridge slot, and pressed on.. The word gameboy popped up, a little star flew by and it said Gamefreak, and then the pokemon music turned on, a gengar and a nidorino were fighting, and I cried. I cried so hard right at that moment because finally, finally after everything I had done, I could play Pokemon.

This is one of my most memorable gaming/pokemon memories and should give you an idea of how much I love both. Although I don't need it, I would really like Pokemon Y! Although I'm much older now, My love for pokemon hasn't changed.

Agree with /u/canadian_escort. Clients don't really care how fancy the hotel is, so long as it's clean and comfortable.

Here's one way to book your clients such that your risk of loss is minimized:

1. Don't book your hotel until you have at two clients booked (with deposits).
   
   
2. For the deposit, charge 10% of your fee, or $100, whichever is more. That way, even if they bail, you at least cover the cost of your hotel, meals, and a little extra.
   
   
3. You can take deposits in several different ways: Bitcoin/crypto, virtual gift cards, wire transfer, bank deposit, wishlist purchase, or payment network (Paypal/Venmo, etc). If the appointment won't be for a while, they can also send cash by mail, postal money orders, or travelers checks. Avoid Western Union or Moneygram, as they're expensive, require you to visit one of their locations, and are sex worker hostile.

I think it depends a lot on the person doing the gifting.

On one hand, I completely get where you're coming from. Being able to get gift cards to use to apply for bigger purchases makes a lot of sense. Kind of like how every Christmas my mom gives my wife and I a dozen gift cards to different restaurants for like $10-$20 each. I mean, I appreciate it, but great, now I need to spend more money, because that $10 isn't going to get me very far at the Olive Garden. Not a perfect metaphor I suppose, but you get what I mean.

On the other hand, I think it sort of goes against the spirit of this subreddit. The point here is for people to randomly gift other people random things. It seems to me that half the fun is for gifters to look through your list, and find something that they know you want or need, and that's in their price range. And the other half of the fun is for you to see that Amazon logo on a box on your front step, and tear it open like a kid on Christmas to see what you got. How boring would this place be if the posts were all "[GIFTED] $10 to kyzen!" and "[THANKS] for $10 bro!". I have yet to gift or be gifted, but I love reading this subreddit just to see the random crap people are sending eachother.

Instead of asking people for money and risking upsetting anyone, perhaps Contest runners should state in advance if they're willing to offer up a gift card.

Or, better yet, just follow the rules - and put the item you want on your wishlist.

Well the series I just finished was amazing! I loved every minute of it. It was about this one guy that never gave up hope finding the one person he was meant to be with, his soulmate.
