1. Auragin® Authentic Korean Red Ginseng – Made in Korea – 6 Year Roots – No Additives or Other Ingredients – 100% Red Panax Ginseng in Every Tablet

    Features:
  • NOT AN EXTRACT. Most products use chemical extracts to raise their ginsenoside content. We don’t need to. Because we start with such high quality roots, they're more potent out of the ground than even most extracts. Why does this matter? Extracts mess up the natural ratio of ginsenosides, and remove many healthy parts of the root. This means they don't have the same effects on your body as whole ginseng roots. We use the whole root, unadulterated, so you can get the full benefits of ginseng.
  • NO FILLERS OR OTHER JUNK. A 2015 study found 4 out of 5 big brand supplements they tested contained NONE of the herbs promised on the label. Instead, they contained only 100% fillers, like powdered rice and houseplants. That's 0% ginseng... in your ginseng. And we think that's appalling. Which is why each tablet of Auragin only contains 100% ginseng. No rice powder or any other junk. Those other ginseng supplements with a cheap price tag? They're cheap for a reason.
  • MINIMALLY PROCESSED, FARM TO BOTTLE. Our ginseng is grown for 6 years before harvesting. We use a thousand-year-old method of repeat steaming and drying to turn it into red ginseng. Then we grind the whole roots into powder, test for potency and take only the top 30%, and press the powder into tablets. That's it. Auragin is the closest thing you'll find to actually flying to Korea and buying fresh Korean red ginseng roots locally... But even then, you'd be hard-pressed to find roots this good.
  • YOU'LL LOVE IT OR YOUR MONEY BACK. Try Auragin risk free. If it doesn’t work for you, just let us know and we’ll refund you in full — you don’t even need to return the empty bottle. That's how confident we are you're going to love it. We want to take all risk out of the equation, because we know once you try it, you're not going to want to stop. So trust us here, and give Auragin a try. We think you'll notice the difference.

(Edit: 140mg caffeine, correction courtesy of DonOblivious)

This is a good answer, but an incomplete one. Looking at the side of a can it looks like you have a few basic ingredients: Sugar (25g), Taurine (1000mg), Caffeine (2500140mg+), Ginseng (200mg), and B Vitamins.

Taurine and Caffeine are both stimulants, and do the bulk of the CNS loading in the mix.

B Vitamins aid in the metabolism of energy from various energy sources, and alone is a very effective supplement for energy levels.

Ginseng seems to have about a thousand unproven uses, but is generally accepted to lower blood sugar, and improve insulin response, this is likely responsible for the 'whoa this is great' energy drink high, instead of the 'too much Halloween candy' sugar sickness.

And Sugar is just a pick your poison kind of exercise.

Adding costs all up to the above linked products:
Taurine: $23/kg Serving: 1000mg = $.023 / serving (1000 servings per pouch)
Caffeine: $2.99/(100200mg) Serving: 140mg = $0.02 / serving (143 servings per bottle) (edited)
B Vitamins: $8.98/100 Serving: 1 tablet = $.09 / serving (100 servings per bottle)
Ginseng: $18.65/(250
500mg) Serving: 200mg = $.03 / serving (625 servings per bottle)

Grand total is about 5116 cents per every can of monster replaced, assuming you're alright providing your own juice crystals, I have as well not hunted at all for price reductions or bulk pricing on the above supplements.

If you want to avoid the stimulants and still get an invigorating effect, I would just recommend the B vitamins on their own, combined with some free office coffee, they work quite well.

Come on, man, that's a bit of an exaggeration. It's worth trying for a while to see if you think it's worth it. It'll support the repair, elasticity, and sensitivity of the skin that's there. And the way the St John's Wort will support all the nerves it does absorb into will work under the surface, too, including interacting with the circulation.

Here, use this for at least a month for depression as well as a variety of other benefits:

Rhodiola

It's the most effective herbal antidepressant. Look up what else it can do, use it consistently, and give it a chance for at least a month or two. It's safe to use long term and can improve your health in lots of ways in addition to the strong antidepressant effect. Pretty good. If you try it, start with a few drops and work up to the recommended dose, and using a shot glass of water to mix it into is just right.

An overview of Rhodiola

In-depth review of decades of scientific literature on Rhodiola from Herbalgram

u/Shadax · 1 pointr/depression

It's basically an aged ginseng. You would need close to 1000mg to really feel an effect, but it gives energy and boosts your immune system. It can give quite a boost to sex drive as well.

I'm not a doctor of course, but I don't believe there are any negative effects.

From a product description:

>Ginseng has been used as an herbal supplement for over 2000 years. It has been shown in clinical trials to increase energy & decrease fatigue, boost the immune system, reduce stress, enhance mood, and boost mental function.

>However, not all ginseng is created equal. The active ingredients in ginseng are substances known as ginsenosides, and ginseng low in ginsenosides may not be effective.

>It takes 6 years for a ginseng root to fully develop its ginsenoside content, and this also depends on other factors such as climate and soil conditions. Korea in particular is famous for the high-quality ginseng it produces. "Red" ginseng refers to a traditional process of repeat steaming and drying, which increases the number of ginsenosides further.

It's not particularly cheap, but you can find lower dosages for cheaper, or Chinese red ginseng which may be as effective.

Maybe research it a bit to see how you feel about it. Bring it up to your doctor too to see what he says about it being a good idea or not.

u/myear23 · 1 pointr/StackAdvice

Thanks for the replies so far. After doing some more research, I leaning towards this product for ginseng:

http://www.amazon.com/Paradise-Herbs-Ginseng-Vegetarian-Capsules/dp/B00065IABA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1412526046&sr=8-1&keywords=red+korean+ginseng+paradise

It seems like a good product with a high level of standardization. I have to admit however that I wish it didn't come with a "Proprietary Blend of Synergistic Herbal Extracts", it seems a bit gimmicky to me.

I've also decided to try ginkgo biloba as well. I have heard that these two are particularly synergistic for promoting memory retention. This brand seems to be a popular and well reviewed choice:

http://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Strength-Ginkgo-120-Count/dp/B000NRXNT0/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1412525972&sr=1-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+ginkgo

Anyone have any experience with these brands??

u/Jeremiah_K · 5 pointsr/Nootropics

A well-rounded tablespoon. I'd guess about 5 grams.

I had a pound of the stuff for a year before I found this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/7i103z/after_six_unnoticeable_tries_i_believed/

I had tried it several times at the recommended dosages with no effect. I thought it tasted bad and didn't do anything.

But after reading the above post, I tried a huge spoonful of it mixed in about 10 oz of water. It finally had the effects that people were talking about. Happens almost immediately for me.

I hated the taste, but now my body associates the taste with its effect and I don't mind it at all.

I go through a 1-2 pounds a month now and it's one of my favorite supplements. A natural adaptogenic and definitely one of the most powerful supplements that I take.

Edit: I haven't used the KSM-66 stuff.

I've tried 3 different brands. This stuff is pretty potent and the price is right: https://www.amazon.com/Terrasoul-Superfoods-Ashwagandha-Powder-Organic/dp/B06XC427J6/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1520409274&sr=1-4&keywords=ashwagandha&th=1

There are some Ginseng shots I used to take in the morning with coffee. It synergies well with caffeine. RED PANAX GINSENG EXTRACT 6 BOXES 180 BOTTLES 6000MG(30 BOTTLES IN EACH BOX) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TK9PWU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_WSILAbDBBHJP4

I learned of Ginseng effects from Pepsi Max. Switched to the shots for a bit but since I’m on Keto stopped due to the sugar content. Found Gamersupps GGEZ nootropic energy drink mix powder and it gives me the same energy that Pepsi Max did but even better and clearer and had the Ginseng in it. There’s two types. American and Red/Panax/Asian Ginseng. I prefer Panax for sure. American Ginseng doesn’t have the same properties.

I have 1 - 3 of gamersupps nootropic mix a day. I also take hvmn /nootrobox Rise and Kado 3 daily for about a year now. I feel my productivity has shot through the roof.

I also added the Ketogenic diet which was a huge boost as well as regular exercise and Nofap. Nicotine is a big part of my regime too through vaping but avoid this one if you can ;).

u/KoblinV3 · 3 pointsr/StackAdvice

Best things I've come across. From most effective to least

Selegiline

Phenylpiracetam

Ginkgo biloba (240mg at 24% extract)

N-acetyl-semax-amantadine (N-acetyl-semax would be better if you're not already on a stimulant for ADD-PI most likely... Get mine from nootropicsource)

NALT and DLPA (if I weren't on ADD meds though I'd opt for l-tyrosine as it's rate limiting so I trust it more)

Red panax ginseng [best] (https://www.amazon.com/Ginsenosides-Equivalent-Sublingual-Supplement-NUTRA/dp/B019YLQTUK) one by far IMO.. Bet you can't find one with higher Ginsenosides than this!

Caffeine/L-theanine

Polygala tenuifolia

Cdp-choline

Jarrow b right b complex

Zinc/magnesium taurate

Sea iodone/vitamin k supplement (1000mcq iodine) and then 200mg selenium (take together... Also note that 1000mcq is a bit high so you would probably want to go lower)

L-tryptophan when you feel you're dopamine/norepinephrine levels are in a good place. Proper serotonin helps with the formation of different types of memory.

If you're dopamine/norepinephrine is too low it can be sedating and kind of defeats the purpose (my memory is great while I'm sleeping! Lol)

I feel just get on meds though tbh. I used to think it was worse to be on meds than to not be for my brain.

I realized through research and neurology that having your brain in a dysfunctional and chemically imbalanced state is definitely worse for it in the long run.

If you want to be really picky about it you can opt for a phenidate based med (Ritalin or Focalin) over an amphetamine based one (adderall or dexedrine).

However for me personally having it be ever so slightly worse neurologically is worth it if it means I'm more functional socially and in daily life.

Especially considering I take so many things that prevent inflammation/aptosis/nmda toxicity/dopamine cell toxicity/dopamine DNA expression.

I just think if it was actually harmful then brain scans wouldn't show an upregulation of dopamine after a year on amps and a normal looking brain compared to an add brain. That's my two cents on phenidates versus amps anyway.

One of the only places in the US that tea is grown is Charleston, SC. You can actually buy American made tea.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charleston_Tea_Plantation

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004EJVYU8/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_t1_j5PQCb3DX0AM0

If you are feeling like this isn't American enough, Yaupon is the only native North American plant to have caffeine. Yaupon comes mainly from Florida and Texas, so it's about as conservative as you can get. Find it on Amazon. It doesn't taste as floral as tea. The classic version tastes more like the smell of fresh cut grass, but what's more American than that?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilex_vomitoria

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7OZPS8/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_t1_t4PQCbHDJA5CH

Finally, ginseng is typically a Chinese herb, but Wisconsin has become globally known for it's production of Ginseng. Wisconsin is one of the most well known states in the world because of it's ginseng popularity in China. This being said, the trade war is hurting ginseng farmers in Wisconsin, so if you buy ginseng tea, buy Wisconsin ginseng tea. You can buy it direct from the farmers or on Amazon. Just make sure it is grown in the US.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017T7OU48/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_t1_w2PQCbGBP5FK7

None of these are especially conservative owned, but all are from states that voted Trump. South Carolina, Florida, Texas, and Wisconsin.

Celestial Seasonings is a personal favorite tea maker, and they export American tea to places like Canada, but they are probably a bit more liberal as they are based in Denver. Also, while they may source as locally as possible, their tea plant comes from foreign countries.

u/newguy8908 · 2 pointsr/Supplements

Magnesium is great for sleep. And might cut on your libido. For energy, try : Ginseng Been taking for past 3-4 days and there is definite difference. Also cut down completely on sugar. Later in evening you can have beet root juice or blue berry juice. I found that to be super effective.

u/NathanSlothchild · 1 pointr/Supplements

I'm comparing 3 different ones right now. This one is cheap, many people don't like cheap but since I'm still testing a bit I will probably try this one first:

https://www.amazon.com/Swanson-Rhodiola-Ashwagandha-Adaptogen-Supplement/dp/B001PSOAWA/ref=pd_sbs_121_4/144-0245190-1103622?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001PSOAWA&pd_rd_r=93120e5c-6e64-427a-9fff-6e846755a982&pd_rd_w=tKefw&pd_rd_wg=7KJGD&pf_rd_p=52b7592c-2dc9-4ac6-84d4-4bda6360045e&pf_rd_r=YP7EYKABY6H5YK01JTD9&psc=1&refRID=YP7EYKABY6H5YK01JTD9#customerReviews

This one's more expensive would probably be my second choice:

https://www.amazon.com/ADAPTOTRAXTM-Superior-Adaptogen-Supplements-Blend/dp/B01MRZMRWQ/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=adaptogen+blend&qid=1570850740&sr=8-6

And I also found this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Adaptogen-Elite-Synergistic-Ashwagandha-Astragalus/dp/B07GVSG2XQ/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=adaptogen+blend&qid=1570850740&sr=8-9

My goal right now is to just identify which herb is activating the l-tryptophan. It seems like the l-tryptophan is boosting serotonin precursors pre-synapse & one (or more) of the adaptogens is activating the serotonin / somehow helping it cross the synapse. I suspect the rhodiola only because 1) I haven't tested it yet by itself 2) many people talk about it on here and 3) I've tried at least half the other herbs on the bottle and am pretty sure most aren't responsible for the effect I'm getting. This is all still suspicion I need to do a bit more testing.

u/MerlotMike · 5 pointsr/StackAdvice

Red Ginseng is a great one, and pretty cheap. I am sort of on the same boat, and 2 of these mini bottles a day really helps.

u/Wandigp · -1 pointsr/Supplements

Think I found my answer.

http://www.amazon.com/ENERGY-GINSENG-HERBAL-SUPPLEMENT-PACKS/dp/B000S39VEU

According to the reviews, it does the exact same thing caffeine does (keeps you awake and gives you energy) but without any negative side effects like crashing. It's all natural herbal stuff too so it isn't bad for you.

What do you guys think?

u/malama61 · 1 pointr/Nightshift

Some stores sell these little vials of ginseng. I'd add it to your tea or drink, but it'll also help you with energy levels.

http://www.amazon.com/PANAX-GINSENG-EXTRACT-BOTTLES-6000MG/dp/B000TK9PWU/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1420978025&sr=1-1&keywords=red+panax+ginseng

lol not suggesting you buy 180, but you get the point.

u/BabyTurtleNeck · 2 pointsr/TryingForABaby

Has anyone here ever taken [Asana Ladies Balance supplements]
(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ICUSFTI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1)? They contain vitex chasteberry, Maca root, shatavari, green tea, galangal, and rose extract. I was trying to do some research on encouraging my body to ovulate sooner as my body has been creeping towards O around cycle day 20+ and it would be nice to be Oing a bit earlier like I use to be.

This brand has made a HUGE positive impact on my day to day life. It works. I have ordered it for over a year and quality is consistent. This is not an ad.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha 600mg - Organic Root Extract - High Potency 5% Withanolides - Health Benefits Include Reduced Stress and Anxiety, Increased Energy and Focus (90 Vegetarian Capsules) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DN3GQBC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_xD9UCbZZAPCK7

FLmoda is milder, armoda is sharper. FLmoda is also a largely unregulated research compound in the U.S. currently, but it's under investigation for ADHD as well. Both last at least 8 hours. Armoda seems to last a little longer. What else are you considering as DRI options?

It looks like the kind I bought is no longer sold on Amazon, although others are listed. Just order some Ma Huang tea leaves from whichever retailer you can find selling them with decent reviews. You will need a tea infuser of course, for loose leaf tea. They look more like stalks than leaves. Pure ephedrine is banned, but tea is still allowed, including for import. I do not recommend the 'Mormon Tea Extract' sold on Amazon, though, as it produces intense abrupt anxiety after a couple hours, whereas the Ma Huang tea feels subjectively similar for focus but does not do that for me. Could have been merely bad luck, granted.

Mine is over 90% supposedly. Pure Jiaogulan Supplement - 180 Capsules - Gynostemma Pentaphyllum AMPK Activator, Caffeine-Free Adaptogen Pills, Southern Ginseng (Jiaogulan) Root Powder Extract, Max Strength 820mg https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0716RQZG6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_bkNSAbAKQ1HCZ

Sarcosine has BBB permeability. It is a glycine reuptake inhibitor and eventually gets metabolized into glycine itself. Glycine has less BBB permeability. They feel nothing alike. Eating 8 grams of glycine does not produce the same effects as e.g. 2 grams of sarcosine, for me at least. You could take them together hypothetically, to provide precursors, but I've ultimately found that sarcosine on its own works about as well. That comment you linked is not very well informed.

Red Chinese Panax Ginseng. It’s hard to get now on the US, but it just works best for me. https://www.amazon.com/Chinese-Red-Panax-Ginseng-1200mg/dp/B00016X1GS

I'm on Lexapro and it sure does kill your Libido. Anyway, one of my friends recommended taking Maca supplements, as he had the same issues with his antidepressants. It actually helped and now I take it pretty much everyday but you can also take it ahead of when you know you might be getting it done.

This is the brand I use. I originally took 500mg capsules but it worked better when I switched to 950mg. https://www.amazon.com/capsules-Peruvian-Gelatinized-Reproductive-Energizer/dp/B01M362DU7/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=maca&qid=1557582718&s=gateway&sr=8-3

u/thegrumpyhypnotist · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

both of you seem very knowledgeable about this subject, thanks for sharing (calling /u/ReflectHeatIntoSpace). question: im looking into this Auragin product as i currently have good experience with this Vitaminshoppe brand, am trying to figure out equivalent dosage based on assumption of different ginsenoside content? any guesses along those lines?

the Auragin looks great but the recommended 3 per day for one month supply is kind of pricey, which i understand is understandable for true quality ginseng. trying to see if just 1 or 2 per day would be sufficient, plus from experience too much causes unpleasant side effects of overheating and chest palpitations.

Terrasoul Superfoods Ashwagandha Root Powder (Organic), 16 ounces https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XC427J6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cr74BbD1STANG

Been taking this product for over a year year now and definitely haven't noticed any heavy metal sickness symptoms. Also I got lab results from them on the last batch I bought, which was only tested for Pb (lead), which was found to be 0.246 PPM. This is well within the generally accepted range in food.

Always request lab results!

I've been using Auragin (a 6-year korean Panax Ginseng product) with really impressive results. Things ive noticed are: increased aerobic capacity, increased muscular endurance (rep range in workouts), lesser hangovers, cognitive enhancement/increased concentration, and a reduction in depression.
http://www.amazon.com/Auragin-Authentic-Ginsenosides-Additives-Ingredients/dp/B00JVA8RO6#

so far, Auragin has the highest ginsenoside content of any ginseng product i've came across. if anyone has found a more potent korean grown ginseng I would like to see it.

Other supplements you may want to look into that may aid in your situation (when you are in the position to expand your stack):

I don't think there is a miracle pill or a doctor that will guide to you to the right direction. You have to change your life by yourself and try out different things that work for different people. Keto and lifestyle change might be a big thing, ordering few of those herbs that I suggested might be even bigger. All of these different things might not work but you won't be able to find it out if you don't try out. You are the one having to make the change though. There is no one else making it for you.
