Top Reddit comments about Global Marketing:

Here is a book about the subject:

http://www.amazon.com/Chinese-Social-Media-Universe-ebook/dp/B005O9UEIA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1346078997&sr=8-6&keywords=chinese+social+media

I have not read it so I can't give a recommendation on it. It appears to be mainly aimed towards helping people 'navigate' the world of Chinese social media, so it may not be what you are looking for. What I can recommend however is the e-magazine Tea Leaf Nation

http://tealeafnation.com/

It is a site dedicated to scouring Chinese social media and bringing it to English readers. As a fairly prolific sinophile, it would the first place I would recommend for what you are looking for. The site's editors seem to be pretty knowledgeable on the subject so you may even shoot them an email for more information. If anyone can help you further, it is probably them.

Check out this book: The 1-Page Marketing Plan.

It will give you some good ideas about how to build a marketing plan/system for your services. I think you're on the right track in thinking about crafting your message as how you can solve your potential clients' problems (generate leads), and not just build websites. The book goes into greater detail about how to implement that through the whole cycle of prospects -> leads -> customers.

Also a side benefit of knowing more about marketing is it will make you more valuable to your clients.

This book: Pikachu's Global Adventure: The Rise and Fall of Pokemon
My campus library had it, so I gave it a read. It's interesting I guess. Being 10 years old, it is a bit dated now, but it does give a lot of good insight to the cultural phenomenon that pokemon was in the late 90's.

Another good one is The Viking Manifesto though it deals more with how Swedes do business (And why we are so good at it)

Came here to recommend Round Ireland with a Fridge, but seeing as some smartypants beat me to it, I'll give you Bill Bryson meets Basil Fawlty instead: The Hotel on the Roof of the World

So you've spent countless hours and money, but couldn't fork out $19?

You have literally destroyed your "brand". Good work!

Set up a website - one including your location - so that people looking for video in your area can find you.

Have a stack of business cards printed and send them out to businesses along with a letter.

Speak at local business groups.

Look for referrals from web design companies, weddings venues, business advisors.

...And honestly, you should have been able to work this out by googling "How do I market a small business/photography." Eg from the first page of results -

https://primefocuslab.com/how-to-market-a-photography-business/

Or you could have bought a cheap book on Amazon. These are the first two I found on Amazon

It sounds to me like you're freezing on the business side. This is a problem that you HAVE to get over. If you can't unfreeze and start approaching people, get out of the business - because it will be a disaster.

u/SpeakeasyImprov · 3 pointsr/improv

You're over-promising for one. And I think you're presenting yourself fairly amateurishly with the design in those flyers for another.

And I have no idea who you are! Why should I learn from you?

I've said elsewhere, I'm learning myself right now. Currently reading.
