This is a bit above your budget but is ridiculously discounted. If your dad plays different courses and tries new ones from time to time, this is a really cool gadget that will show him the layout of the hole and give him accurate distances from wherever he is on the course.

My uncle has one and I played with him a few weeks ago. I'ts kind of a random gadget, but surprisingly useful if he's a semi-serious golfer. Plus all of his golfing buddies will be jealous.

edit: if you like the idea, use the $50 gift card to make up the difference between the price and your target budget.

I've golfed many times with my F5X+ and it's got some great tools but there's definitely some room for improvement.

With that being said, your watch will not sync with the Garmin Golf App in real time. The app will download your scorecard from your watch at the end of the round, and it will overlay your shots on to a map of each hole. From there, you can edit your shots and tell it what club you used for each shot (assuming you remember or wrote it down).

On my list of things to purchase is a set of the CT-10 sensors for my clubs. I don't know anyone personally that's used them, but I'd say there's a SMALL possibility it offers real-time shot mapping through the app.

Please update with your experiences!

I have one of these SkullGolf Divot Tools and like it a lot. Well made and seems to receive more compliments than my golf game.

Also a big fan of my Hybrid GPS & Rangefinder since it gives me all the information I need to sometimes pull off a great shot.

The Garmin Approach S6 is $220 for only two hours more. While it was at $250 a few days ago and the S60 is now available ($400 or so I think), this is a pretty good deal

These start at 7:24 am est....but you probably shouldn't get em...

I've looked through 4 pages now and this is all I've seen so far. Going to keep looking now.

Edit for some other things:

In Electronics:

  • Garmin Approach S6 (starts at 8:49am)

  • A couple of portable and waterproof bluetooth speakers that I can't vouch for (know /r/golf is divided on these being used).

    In Cell Phones & Accessories:

  • There are a few portable chargers for those that either listen to music while playing or use Arccos or GameGolf (while also looking at phone), etc.

I'm not looking through the everything else section for anything else though...

Wouldn't a one time purchase for a stand alone GPS make more sense? Here's and example - Garmin 010-01959-00 Approach G10 Handheld Golf GPS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AX44544/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Uco2Cb0YBAPKZ
