I completely agree that you should bring it up. Most of the time I think it’s not best to point out others’ faux paus, but as a bridesmaid and a best friend, you owe it to her to give her a nudge. I know you have already spent a lot of money, but to make things easier, it might help if you bought her a pack of cute thank you notes and say “I saw these and thought they’d be perfect for your shower gift thank yous. I know you’re busy so if you need help addressing this week, let me know!”

I bought these for my thank you notes when I got married. Cheap and super cute. 12.00 Is a small price to pay to urge someone to have proper etiquette.Otherwise a bunch of pissed ladies are going to show up to her wedding. Personally, I would be so offended if someone didn’t acknowledge a gift along with my efforts to come to a shower and I probably wouldn’t ever think of them the same way. Judgmental AF, but true.

What a nice offer. I am going to put in a request here for cards We are on a tight budget, but I like to give, and I like to give snail mail. These cards are beautiful, would make me happy to send them out to others to make them happy.

I just learned what a koozie is, ha ha ha, we have none, but if we come across any, I will keep you in mine. Have a great week and weekend. :)

I think these ideas are pretty good, it would just be up to you and your hustle to make them happen. Which do YOU think you'd be best at? Try printing up some flyers with a google voice number and post them to gauge interest. Avery has some nice papers/templates that you could use starting out to make it look professional. Something like this.

If there's a large senior population, that seems like a good place to start. They might need computer help or errands like you mentioned.

Good luck!

As a seller I make sure I am fully stocked and organized with all the appropriate packaging so when I do make a sale I can quickly wrap it and mail it out. I purchased all of my supplies from Amazon! I use pink tissues paper, patterned poly mailers and thank you cards from Amazon and they basically have paid for themselves. I also purchased a shelving unit from amazon that I have all my tissue and boxes and mailers stocked on to keep everything organized! I just like to have my items folded and wrapped in tissue to keep them protected and I think a thank you note is a very sweet and easy gesture. I also buy on Poshmark and am sometimes a bit grossed out when I receive an item that is not wrapped in tissue or wrapping at all and I receive it all wrinkled. I constantly order clothing online and most retailers always wrap the items inside the poly mailers, I just think of it as standard. Hope this helps!

What a great idea!

Are you planning on buying new books? Or used? Personally, I'd go for used, but I'm also a sucker for a book that looks well loved.

It'd be really cool to write something inside each cover about why you picked that book, or when you first read it. And your names and wedding date. Put little signs on the table that indicate the books can be taken home using these: https://www.amazon.com/Book-Cards-medium-weight-100/dp/B004R67U92.

If I were doing this project, I would plan to visit my local used book stores every week to pick up copies of books I've read and enjoyed. Off the top of my head I'd include these:

  • Little Men and Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott
  • Enders Game by Orson Scott Card
  • Wired For Love by Stan Tatkin
  • The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
  • Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey
  • any of the Wagons West series by Dana Fuller Ross
  • Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters

My selection would be heavy with fantasy and historical fiction combined with a light dusting of philosophy, self-help, and poetry.

Play shitty games and win shitty prizes. You should get some of these for PiP and scribble on one every time you see her. For everything she does.

Dear PiP,
Thank you very much for the hello when we came in the door. I think it's nice. From, 4n8

Dear PiP,
Thank you very much for the cup of water. I think it's wet. From, 4n8

Dear PiP,
Thank you very much for the napkin. I think it's useful. From, 4n8

Edit:

Wait, this is even better!

This is a bad idea. It will seem ridiculous and socially inappropriate. At best, people will simply be a little confused and weirded out; and at worst, people will be insulted.

If you handed one to me, I would not want to take it. If you insisted, I would feel uncomfortable, and absolutely never ever 'cash it in' under any circumstances. I'd go home to my wife and say, "you know that guy /u/probably_bad_idea? He gave me this weird coin today. You ever hear of anything like that?"

Here's why: the give-and-take of favors is part of what creates trust between business associates. Commodifying the process, which is what you are explicitly doing, ruins that element of interaction. Whether or not this is actually true, it implies that you only do favors for others to earn favors in return, and expect that the people you interact with share the same worldview. It says, "I assume you're only doing this favor for me to get one in return, so I went to the trouble of making you this coin."

Another downside is, it's very impersonal. No mention of what they did or why it was helpful; just a grubby poker chip identical to what some other girl got.

[Edit to add: a third downside is the implication that you wouldn't remember what they did later on. "Hey, thanks for the favor. I won't remember it tomorrow, so here's a special coin you can cash in to remind me."

A fourth downside is the implication that you wouldn't have helped them out beforehand, but now that you owe them a favor, you will help them out once. "Hey, now that you've done me a favor, I've decided to offer you one in the future if you need it." That's not literally what you mean, but it is the implication.]

The adult thing to do would be to send a simple email. If you really want to send a special message, you could hand-write a short note instead. (Perhaps put some of your coin-designing budget toward buying some tasteful stationary like this).

In either case, here's what the note should say, in three or four sentences:

  • Thesis
  • Evidence / Complement
  • General Offer (optional)

    For example:
Thanks for bailing me out on those TPS reports today. Without your perfectly color-coded spreadsheets, I never would have gotten the reports to the client on time. If you ever need a hand collating widgets (or anything else), just let me know. Best,

They don’t really match but I’ve received a ton of love notes from buyers who love my packaging. :)

Although i've built foam risers before to great success, If you want more flexibility, Ultra Pro Deck Boxes + the like are very useful.
They aren't too expensive and are transparent. They also come with 2 for the price of 1 deck box.
These are the ones I use:

150 Card Size

250 Card Size

100 Card Size

25 Card Size

Extra Tall

If you just want staircase risers for nendoroids, I bought mine locally. Some scrounging on the subreddit should net you some decent sellers.

Photo album.

You can easily see them all and store them on a shelf.
Catalog them in an excel spread sheet so you can find any one you're searching for easily (Occasion, Text front and inside, Pictures, card color, Date released, etc) then put them in the book by date. On the spine of the photo album label the date range.

Edit: Store the excel on 2 USB memory sticks with the oldest cards. Also, store it on a shared cloud storage system.
Second Edit: These are pretty cool too

u/OwDaditHurts · 7 pointsr/WTF

Can someone please find the original art for this. Would make a brilliant piece of wall art.

edit: Attempt 1 at finding source. Nope.

edit2: Attempt 2. Found a probable source. More digging required. OP looks like he's holding a greeting card.

edit3: Boom. Done by an aritst/company that goes by the name Vash Designs Greeting Cards. Link to this card being sold on their amazon store. Inside of the card says "Wishing you a pop and fresh birthday".

There's a penguin on top of the telly. :)

  1. I LOVE peacocks! And Doctor Who. And my favorite band is Cute Is What We Aim For.

  2. These are friggin' cute!

Here are some gold monogrammed note cards, "M," of course, but I'd prefer platinum-190.

I would like to share the wealth, with three months for me and the rest for others.

Edited for this: oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, MY FIRST GOLD!!! Thank youuuuu!!

This is some of the cutest stationary I have ever found... although, I also find a lot of cute stuff at Target, and sometimes just throw together my own.

Aphrodite-Walking stinks! I love snail mail (and exchanging it!) so I hope I get lucky this time!!

My GF and I designed these cards and think they are funny. Hopefully you do too :)

Also Hi B! 🐌💌

I buy blank postcards but I don’t print on them and I don’t know if your printer would handle the size or if you could do the Amazon thing. Just in case here they are.

> Should I buy one of those bundle packs?

The deckbuilder toolkit and the bundle, formerly known as the fat pack, contain a package of basic lands. I would not buy either just for the land pack.

The cheapest way is to find someone who already has too many basic lands. Your local game store (LGS) and veteran MTG players typically fall into this category. Just reach out and ask them if they have any basic lands. When I got into MTG last year, I picked up some basics from my LGS for free.

> Whats the normal price per land?

Depends. I've seen $0.00 to $0.05 cents for a basics. Amazon sells basic lands, as do other game stores like TCG Player and Channel Fireball.

u/rizzeedizzee · 4 pointsr/mtgfinance

Don't use deck boxes - send them in one of these ( https://www.bcwsupplies.com/100-card-storage-box ) or one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-2-Piece-Count-Storage/dp/B0002TT3L6/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=sports+cards+plastic+case&qid=1565637902&s=gateway&sr=8-3 ).

Both do a good job of preventing the cards from jostling around. If you can't fill them, then stuff some folded paper towels to prevent the cards from moving around during transit. Do use Priority Mail and pay for extra insurance if what you're sending in is worth more than $50, as the extra insurance is cheap. Heck - I sent a $4000 buylist to ABU and insurance was only $25 extra.

u/KoboldCoterie · 4 pointsr/magicTCG

I usually just go with something like this - it takes a while to go through that, unless you're building an absolutely unreasonable number of decks or kitting out multiple cubes or something.

u/aers_blue · 1 pointr/boardgames

These. https://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-2-Piece-Count-Storage/dp/B0002TT3L6/

They come in various sizes. My favorite sizes to get are the 25 and 50 card ones for bits. 100 cards for minis.

u/MissyTheMouse · 3 pointsr/RAoC_meta

I got these blank postcards from Amazon

Remind me which country you're in again? May be able to find something similar...

ETA: also, these if your printer likes bigger sheets My printer tried to rebel with such a short sheet, but I pretended I was printing an envelope and made my design left-justified.

u/Bosbo9 · 3 pointsr/DnD

EVERYTIME! I am not really a huge fan of the dicebag, so I've taken to using deck boxes like these.
