I pocket carry a SIG P938, and I have experience with holsters, because I feel like the only way to try them out is to buy them and use them. Unfortunately this makes for quite the collection of holsters in a box you don't use.
So, let's start with the bad.
---
Alabama Holster:
CONS:
The hook to catch your pocket on draw is OK .. it's not perfect.
It does little to conceal print shape.
I did not care for the grip of the kydex, it was just a weird draw.
It was expensive.
It took for-friggin-ever to get, their back log of orders was months deep.
PROS:
It's kinda neat I guess?
Hickok45 loved and endorsed it, shrug
Now let's talk what works really really well as an everyday solution.
---
DeSantis Nemesis:
CONS:
I can't think of one.
PROS:
The pocket hook that catches on draw is perfect.
It is a little sticky, (rubber texture) but not too bad. This too is great for the draw.
It's cheap, (like $16-$18) and readily available on Amazon.
Does a nice job on print and is a great everyday solution for slacks.
This is mine.
---
The DeSantis Super Fly:
I have this one as well.
For me it is far too fat, and far too sticky. Some people like it better.
Edit: Yeah, I edited. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?
Yea sounds like a good plan but some tips on hugging: for hip carry make sure your carry side arm is the low arm in the hug if that makes sense. and for appendix just make sure you keep your butt back during the hug. but as for the surprise hugs from behind and little kids in general I would probably suggest an alternate carry method like the can can concealment I'm not too familiar with this one, but the one I can recommend is the smart carry its basically like a fanny pack that sits over your private parts so no real way of accidental touching (and its really comfortable to me at least.
I don’t have much to compare to but I’ll do my best to write an honest review and my overall thoughts. As well as my upgrade plans.
Recoil:
Wasn’t bad, it was manageable and I was able to adjust to target again quickly. I’ve read with an upgraded recoil spring this can be improved on further and I will likely do so.
Trigger:
Surprisingly good. I’ve read the 1.0 had a crap trigger and the M2.0 was an improvement but wasn’t sure just how much. I’ve never shot a 1.0 but this seemed really good. The reset felt solid, I didn’t have any issues.
Accuracy:
I can’t comment on this yet since I’m a crap shot currently, I wouldn’t dare blame the gun for that.
Grip:
Incredible, plain and simple.
Performance:
I shot a little over 100 rounds this session with no jams, using 3 kinds of ammo (1x box of Federal & 1x box of American Range Ammo, as well as a magazine of Critical Defense). The gun went bang every time, was easy to rack the slide. Not sure what else to say, it works and it works well.
Loading Magazines:
I know some people mention issues with loading magazines being difficult. Just slap it in, it’s a tough gun and you don’t need to be gentle. I didn’t see much resistance in loading magazines but I always smack it in to make sure it’s seated properly and I had zero difficulty and zero problems as a result.
Overall:
I love the Shield 2.0 based on the first day. It’s an incredibly concealable and seemingly reliable gun that has some mixed adds features and a larger carrying capacity over the Glock 43 which had been my other consideration.
Near-Future Upgrades:
Trijicon Night Sights - already have them but I need to get them installed
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IUB098E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_zaz763mdj9bbN
Hyve Extended Mag Release - nothing wrong with the standard one but my hands are a bit smaller so I plan to change it
https://hyvetechnologiesbuilder.com/index.php/product/extended-mag-release-for-the-shield/
Crimson Trace Laserguard Pro Green Laser w/ Light - Best option for a tactical laser and the Crimson laser does not increase the amount of space the gun takes up outside of its already existing maximum dimensions.
https://tacticalgear.com/crimson-trace-ll-801g-laserguard-pro-with-iwb-holster-green
MagGuts - new internals for the standard 7-round magazine which increases it’s capacity to 8. I like the 7 round mags for carrying over the 8s because it keeps the gun extremely concealable while giving me an extra round.
https://www.magguts.com/collections/shield
Techna Clip Gun Belt Clip - alternative to an IWB holster. The clip replaces the slide plate direclty
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B012Y8RAWG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rbrGAbQJE56SB
Upgrade Considerations:
Apex Trigger (Not sure if I’ll do this one as the M2.0 trigger seemed pretty good out of the box)
https://store.apextactical.com/WebDirect/Products/Details/192769
Upgraded Recoil Spring
https://dpmsystems.com/smith-wesson-mp-shield-9mm40sw
Match Grade Dimpled Barrel
https://true-precision.com/collections/shield-9/products/m-p-shield-9-barrel
I carry a Nano IWB as well. I have found it just too bulky to pocket carry. Maybe some people wear their pants differently, but even my most relaxed pair of jeans is not loose enough to allow a Nano and holster to fit without looking and feeling like I have a brick in my pocket.
If I have to pocket carry, I go with an LCP, just because it's as small as I can get in a decent caliber. I've found the best pocket holster to be a Desantis Superfly. It's extremely tacky on the outside and fits an LCP well without coming out of the pocket when drawing. Whatever it is on the outside kind of feels like those rubber mats you put on your dashboard to hold a cellphone or sunglasses in place even under heavy g-forces from driving around. There's a reason it's rated so highly on Amazon.
Sorry, I don't have any advice for pocketing the Nano. I haven't been successful in my attempts, and luckily already had the LCP for the rare occasions when IWB doesn't work.
Top - Bottom:
9mm-single-stack-2-mags.html) - First carry gun, love it so far
I have a Kel Tec P3AT. I know that doesn't get a lot of love, but it has been a reliable gun for me. It's made in the US and has a warranty even if you buy it used, if it is damaged by any means, including your own negligence, they'll fix or replace the gun.
All-in-all, I like Kel Tec. And remember that 99% of holsters that fit the LCP fit the P3AT.
As for holsters for pocket pistols, I prefer pocket holsters that prevent printing. I like keeping my pistol in my back pocket where I would normally keep my wallet, for several reasons that I won't waste your time going into unless you ask. So the holsters I recommend for that, even if you go with an LCP, are these:
Talon Wallet Holser, which I currently carry.
DeSantis Trickster, which I have never used before but looks nice and is DeSantis
DeSantis Nemesis, which I carried for many years, but I felt like it printed a bit too much
Garrison Grip orGUNizer, which is super cheap but looks well made. Haven't used it.
First, carrying a firearm without one in the chamber makes that firearm no more useful than a stapler.
But I understand your concern so there are a couple things to remember. First, because the LCP is intended for pocket carry the trigger pull is made a little heavy. No worries and I like it fine but that means the trigger will not fire just because it is "touched". The trigger must be pulled.
So in order to be safe simply protect the trigger by making sure the holster sufficiently covers the trigger and if you pocket carry (like I do) make sure there is nothing else in that pocket EXCEPT the pistol in a quality holster that covers the trigger.
I pocket carry the LCP and have been for over two years and I never worry about an accidental discharge. Why? Because if that gun fires and was not intended to then it is not an "accidental" discharge but rather a "negligent" discharge. A person can sufficiently protect from that happening by making sure the trigger is always sufficiently covered.
Now I have a DeSantis Nemesis like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/DeSantis-Nemesis-P3AT-Ambidextrous-Black/dp/B00266AHQ8
and feel 100% confident that my gun will not fire unless I specifically intend for it to do so.
For pants you are going to need navy cargo pants which can be picked up from amazon or your local army surplus store. Your best bet for the shirt would be under armor or similar compression shirt. Unless you're willing to settle for black, the shoulder holster is going to be tricky. This is what I could find on amazon Brown Black. Leg holster Gloves.
A rock climbing harness can be expensive and now look like you want it to, I would suggest leaving it out (you will be more comfortable walking around, trust me) or getting some nylon webbing and making your own. Good luck with your gender bent Leon!
Yes, it's specifically this CYA holster from Amazon. It's pretty decent, much like /u/kittendestroyer69 mentioned. I only use it to (mainly) appendix carry or kidney carry as it does move just a little and prints worse for me when carrying around 3/4/5 o'clock. I'll likely move to something with a little more natural bend and taper to the body, like a leather or leather/kydex combo or something.
But I do love this holster for slim appendix style carry, I'm a fan of lightweight, minimal, and sleek. Just easily leaves a mark on your skin if you're walking exceptionally long distances or doing any running. Easy to adjust the tightness of the holster as well as the cant angle with an Allen wrench.
I almost bought (and still might) a Mika pocket holster after reading a lot of great things about it. The lead time was too long for me when I was looking, so in a rush I went for a cheapo holster on amazon. It's not thinnest, but in a cargo pocket it worked great. I was very surprised by how nice it worked. UTG 3.9" Ambidextrous Pocket Holster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00749SYYO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_C8lhybRAQ88P5
EDIT: Somehow I missed that you were also looking for IWB. For that, I have a Kusiak leather holster. Nice and low profile, great retention. I find the wheel of the gun sticks into me a bit too much for 3 o'clock. I end up with it at about 4 o'clock and it's comfortable all day. I just need to by a boot grip so it will stop grabbing my shirts.
The DeadPool belt buckle was hand made with:
1 CD (for Tracing the circles in the foam board)
Foam Board (3 Layers)Exacto Knife
Sandpaper
Modgpodge Sealer + Paintbrush
Black spray paint
Cardboard
Acrylic paints
--Use the CD as a trace for the Foam Board. cut out three circle layers, and also cut
out the symbol if you want to keep a 3-D look.
--Use any kind of glue to put together the pieces, and then apply sandpaper to the edges of the buckle to round them out. Also use sandpaper on small areas for fine touches.
--Begin applying the Modgepodge Sealer with the paint brush.
--After drying spray paint the whole buckle. If you didn't add any sealer the buckle will become soggy and deform.
--After drying the paint, apply your acrylic colours and you're done.
--Add more sealer for extra protection if you'd like.
--I also glued the C-D I used for tracing to the back for added support the prevent it from bending at the edges, and added velcro to it and the belt. It is very sturdy.
---- Here are the links to everything I purchased for my costume.
-The Suit - I made sure to use the custom sizing because I'm 6'6, so I think it's worth the couple minutes to size yourself.
-The Swords - I live in Canada, and these are the best swords I could find that work well for the cosplay, and have a good shipping price.
-The Belt and Holster
-The Gun - I already had a cheap airsoft pistol I picked up at a surplus store. I spray painted it and painted the DeadPool logo on it's side just because.
Thought I would share a belly band I just purchased and tweaked a bit to suit my needs...
Here's the review I posted on Amazon:
This thing is great after some modifications, especially for the price! We'll see how well it holds up long-term.
I didn't like the retention strap or how the elastic held the gun in place, so I cut it off. I decided to modify the belly band a bit by shoving one of my Concealment Express IWB holsters into the elastic slot, and took off the kydex holster clip then screwed it back onto the kydex THROUGH the elastic so it would hold super securely, be fully encased in Kydex, and have the retention of a full kydex holster.
Very nice and comfortable to use now that it's been modified. I just put on the band, and then pull up my athletic shorts and use the clip over them as I would normally do on my EDC belt.
$25 on Amazon (+ CE kydex holster cost)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DEGYTC6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've done 2 different carry options.
standard IWB and swapping out the belt clip with a UtiliClip. You can snap it to your pants and the belt covers the clip and there's enough gap to tuck your shirt between the clip and holster.
Or
What I have had the greatest success with, a belly band type holster. I use the ComfortTac. It works great. WAY more comfortable than any IWB I've ran.
I also use the Safariland ALS Model 6378 without the hood and chopblock. I can't recommend it enough. I'm not sure what level is classifies as, but the weapon is automatically locked upon holstering and is removed by manipulating a thumb lever.
Really nice, gives a good positive grip on the gun and my thumb slides directly into the right position after operating the lock. I would highly recommend it for a 19. Great for range use, OC or CC under a jacket or sweatshirt.
Keys:
I'm not sure if I want to carry a full-sized knife anymore but I think the Boker Plus Nano ($43) looks cool!
That's just about my current EDC. I'm planning on eventually buying the carabiner, key knife, tweezers, and I'll probably go with a desantis pocket mag carrier opposed to the 3x more expensive Milt Sparks.
Not necessarily. I have carried in my pocket but I still use a holster [(like this one)] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026634BI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_mzHrzbY7MC2Q3) it blends the shape of the gun into more of a wallet or phone shape, it helps to keep things from getting into the trigger guard (which could be bad), and it helps with a smooth draw. But if you are comfortable caring that way and you practice your draw I see no reason (besides those I've outlined) to not carry in your pocket. Porter Rockwell often carried in and shot from his pockets. It's just not something I want our like to do.
https://www.amazon.com/Combination-POCKET-Holster-Keltec-CC3/dp/B008UGE6B0
I use this for my LCP. Works great, I can run with it, sit down comfortably.
I also suggest checking out a grip for it. Makes a huge difference how it feels in my hand.

BUY THIS SAFARILAND.
I really can't say enough good things about this holster. I used Safariland exclusively professionally and these new 7TS models are even better now. And at less than $35 you won't get a better bang for your buck. Incredibly lightweight, strong, impervious to the elements, and all-around perfect as far as I'm concerned. The ALS retention system is my absolute favorite active-retention system that I've used. Safariland or bust for me.
This thing hides the G19 really well and feels great at 5'oclock and appendix. Favorite holster and for 50 bucks it was a good deal.
http://www.amazon.com/Galco-Triton-Kydex-Holster-Right-hand/dp/B001UOHLCU
I carry appendix. And I love this holster. I honestly forget I'm wearing it most of the time. They have a summer version too which is nylon and lighter. But it's easier to get at the trigger. Either way I like both of them.
It came on another shield holster that I had but didn't accommodate the TLR6. I think the manufacturer on that one was DFW, got it off amazon. The only reason I liked it better was that it had a little ridge down near where it hooks under your belt that made it a lot easier to get a grip on and unclip it from the belt to take the holster off. The holes for the mounting bolts were close enough to the same spacing that they swapped right between each other with no issue.
EDIT - sorry, the company was CYA, not DFW. Here's a link to the holster that I swapped the belt clip from: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A9BSSW6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They also sell the belt clip individually: https://www.amazon.com/CYA-Supply-Co-1-75-Holster/dp/B01IW1O1IU/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1500053556&sr=1-1&keywords=CYA+belt+clip
Yes.
I have that exact replica from that exact website. It's weak (200 FPS), carries 30 rounds in a stick mag, has a surprisingly good hop-up unit, and does a more-than-adequate job of covering my MED even when running a support loadout (50' MED). I consider it my reliable sidearm - if I want something that I unquestionably know will work, this is the secondary I pick.
You can upgrade it if you want - it'll take all the TM AEP upgrades you care to add.
If you go SERPA for your holster needs, remember to get a Glock 20/21/37 SERPA instead (like this one), since it's built to the dimensions of .45 Cal Glocks.

I carry the LCP custom in the front pocket of my jeans and I use a DOTM Combination POCKET/IWB Holster. It has a rubberized exterior and a slick, but snug inside. It works great and I carry it everwhere I go. I wear athletic shorts 95% of the time. I found a super simple belly band that works perfectly with my s&w shield. Carry it every day under my athletic shorts.

1.) First piece of advice, ditch the Serpa and buy a Safariland ALS. 100x sturdier, suede lined, more comfortable. The lock on the Serpa is total shit and there are lots of videos of people literally RIPPING Blackhawks off peoples belts. This ALS will stay on my hip no matter who grabs at it.
2.)Okay now moving on, don't be nervous! That won't help you since my first time I was nervous as hell, but it got easy after a while. 80% of people don't notice my weapon, those that do usually just ask me questions about OC and ask where they can find no information. I've had 0 people get mad or say anything rude about it.
2.5) I'll take this time in between points to repeat DITCH THE SERPA.
3) I live in Northville/Novi MI and work in Detroit, so if you want someone to OC with you for your first time or first few times feel free to shoot me a PM, I'm 26 and have been OCing for 5 years with 0 problems, it's basically second nature to me these days. OCing with another person your first time makes things 100x easier and I wish I would have done that when a few MOC members offered it to me when I first started.
4) Lastly, ditch the Serpa. https://www.amazon.com/Safariland-Concealment-Paddle-Holster-Handed/dp/B00269ZVGG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468528994&sr=8-1&keywords=safariland+als+glock+19
That ALS is the same one I have, the paddle is VERY sturdy, sometimes hard to get on and off yourself so you can trust nobody else is getting it off of you. Plus it's pretty cheap compared to the amazing quality.
My fiancée got This when she started carrying her sccy. It works well for her (she's on the small side 5'4 115 lbs wet) in just about any position she put it. She's worn it for a long time (around 10 hours) and never heard a complaint.
BTW good choice in the sccy. We loved hers and actually ended up buying another one. In our experience they've been stellar performers and reliable like more expensive ones on the market.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001BL22BC/
I use this. It's IWB, but also works very well just for storage. Was tight when I got it but a little heat and wear made it stretch to fit very well
I just picked up a S&W Shield .40 3 weeks ago and I love it! Width = 0.95" / Height = 4.5" / Length = 6.1" / weight (Empty) = 19oz. It is so comfortable to carry. (Specs are the same for the 9mm)
I bought a Techna Clip belt clip that I attached to the gun to keep a very low profile when I carry. (https://www.amazon.com/Techna-Clip-Gun-Belt-Wesson/dp/B012Y8RAWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479923421&sr=8-1&keywords=techna+clip+shield)
I also bought a trigger guard for it also when I carry. (https://www.amazon.com/Fixxxer-custom-F-I-X-Holster-conceal/dp/B00NDVN0RS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479923545&sr=8-1&keywords=m%26p+shield+trigger+guard)
With these two things it is extremely low profile and very comfortable to wear all day. I can even wear slim fit shirts without any type of bulge, from the gun, showing around my belt line. This is a highly recommended gun. If you go to wikiarms.com you can find some really good deals on things like ammo and guns. You can pick up a Shield for under $300!!!! Link below.
Well, most holsters for J-frames are pretty generic. Of the 5-6 that I own, only the Safariland ALS might be specific to my 442 Pro. I'd bet money the rest would fit a Bodyguard also.
I own this one and it is one I use more than most, it has a Bodyguard version. I also like the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster, which is the same for both the J-frames and the Bodyguard.
Honestly if you want to try a cheap yet safe way to try out appendix carry go to the BlackHawk ARC it is designed to ride high and conceal and only csot $17 to get a good feel for it. This holster is incorporated in my line of carry holsters for my shield. It gets as much use if not more as my Incog
I will echo this sentiment and also recommend a Safariland ALS paddle holster. I have the 6378 which you can buy on Amazon.
For me, it's the perfect blend of retention, comfort, accessibility, and ease of draw. The ALS system is very intuitive to use and unlocks with your thumb as you get a proper grip on the gun to draw it out. Automatically locks when you re-holster.
I've tried lots of holsters...and I can assure you that leather backing will be more comfortable than any smaller kydex holster that looks like this ... https://www.amazon.com/Galco-Triton-Kydex-Holster-Right-hand/dp/B001UOHLCU
Just know that even if you tuck your shirt in, the belt clips will still be visible on the outside of your belt. So if you have to tuck your outer most layer in, people can see the holster clips. Pocket carry might be more suitable for you if you work in an office environment or something.
I bought a cheap belly band just to see if I liked the concept/feel before investing into a quality made one like the kinds you referenced. I hated it. I wore it once and now it sits in a drawer. Very uncomfortable, itchy, etc. like others have mentioned.
However bad that experience was, I would still consider this:
https://www.amazon.com/MEDIUM-Generation-Concealed-Handgun-Holster/dp/B007QG6ZGE
They offer different sizes, that is just an example. Reid Henrichs has a pretty good video on it as well. The only reason I haven't tried it is because I've come pretty comfortable with ankle carry.
I got an LCP 1 not too long ago, bought an Uncle Mikes and returned it. It would not do me right, and I couldn't get it to draw well. Bought this and I'm beyond pleased with it. Can carry IWB or in pocket, and the gun always draws out smoothly. I carry it more days than I don't.
The material is also stiffer and does a better job of covering the trigger. Well worth the investment if you ask me.
There are a few simple solutions, but there really isn't a good way to go about it. If your gun has any steel parts, your sweat will cause it to rust profusely. Even titanium framed guns have steel hardware that are susceptible to corrosion. Paying attention is really the best defense you have against this sort of thing, and just hope they aren't clever enough to get past your detection.
Ive been carrying with this one sometimes pocket carry, sometimes aiwb since May and I love it. If I’m going somewhere more public ill stick with my P07 but this is a great “walking around outside” or gas station run alternative. I’m pretty active when I carry chasing around a toddler so it really says something when i forget im carrying this. DTOM IWB/ Pocket carry
I carry a Glock 19 and two spare Glock 17 mags. 50 rounds in total (15+1, 17, 17). Why? Under pressure, I'm sure I will not hit 100% of my shots. I'm not sure that I'll be up against only one threat. If I spend all 16 rounds (15+1) and the threat persists, I've got backup. And if a mag is failing to load or I encounter some other unforseen issue with it, I can just toss it aside for another.
AIWB - When I need to ensure everything is concealed such as when I carry at work, I carry the spares in a Raven Concealment double mag pouch that I "converted" to AIWB by adding some tuckable soft loops and my Glock 19 in a Raven Concealment Eidolon, also with tuckable soft loops.
OWB - When I am out hiking, cycling, or just want to carry OWB for comfort, I carry my mags in a dual mag pouch and my Glock 19 in a OWB Safariland holster, which conceals pretty well actually.
Side note - In warmer weather (as it has been lately), I've been digging Stealthgear's mini IWB holster, wearing it AIWB, in place of both actually - it's super comfy and the Ventcore helps to keep moisture to a minimum.
I just picked up one of these. Pretty happy with it so far.
I got the 239SAS to be my EDC in warm weather. Its pretty narrow and compact so it conceals well. It does have some weight to it though since its a metal frame. I carry it in either my Bellyband holster or n82 Professional. I've never carried a 2022 so I can't compare there but I do have a 229 Legion I carry which is definitely wider and heavier.
Thank you!
I tried this one first: CYA Supply Co. IWB Holster Fits: Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9MM/.40 S&W - Veteran Owned Company - Made in USA - Inside Waistband Concealed Carry Holster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A9BSSW6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_tswQAbZ9HWMNS
But while it was functional, it was much worse for comfort since it has a hard molded kydex interior shape that makes small point contact with the body. The Alien Gear is certainly more comfortable than that.
I have an original LCP that I carry in a [DeSantis Nemesis] (https://www.amazon.com/DeSantis-Nemesis-P3AT-Ambidextrous-Black/dp/B00266AHQ8?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-ffsb-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00266AHQ8). It works great for me. The material is a bit flexible but still rigid enough that the trigger is protected.
I've got a bit of insight on this one. First I would say that I love my aliengear CT 3.0. I wear it on a kydex reinforced hanks belt and often forget its there. I had a few scares when I first got the setup, only to realize that my gun was safely tucked into my belt, exactly where I had left it. I also have a cheap single clip holster found here:
https://www.amazon.com/Concealment-Express-IWB-KYDEX-Holster/dp/B016D2OTXW/ref=sr_1_5?s=hunting-fishing&ie=UTF8&qid=1488004868&sr=1-5&keywords=glock+43+holster
Its great as a nightstand trigger guard cover or for wearing for a short period but after a bit it becomes uncomfortable and makes my hips and butt ache a bit (I carry at 4:00). This is where that padding on the Aliengear between the gun and your body is so amazing. It really does a lot to spread out the pressure of the gun against my body and makes the carrying experience much more pleasant and comfortable.
The only downside I have to the AG stems from my laziness. I prefer to have my gun in a holster before putting it on my belt, so that the trigger guard is covered at all times while I'm sliding it between my belt and body. The AG is not the easiest thing to put on and take off my belt, so I usually end up reholstering the gun with the holster already on my belt. I still much prefer the Aliengear to any other holster Ive tried though.
And I've never had a bad experience with leather but my grandpa has some leather holsters that practically feel like thick cotton now. Kind of turned me away from the idea.
PS- Also if you do go with the AG, it comes with a small tube of threadlocker to put on the screws so they don't fall out. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! They luckily give you extra screws because I lost one on the first day, but not once since after using the threadlocker. I hope this helps your decision a bit.
Stay safe!
What holster are you using? Cause you can get a Glock 20/21 Blackhawk SERPA for $30. Better to solve the problem for good than do a makeshift solution that might end up causing you to replace a pistol magazine.
Another vote for Safariland. I got this one and it's a perfect fit for the G19. https://www.amazon.com/Safariland-7378-283-411-Concealment-Paddle-Holster/dp/B00G9UR7BU/ref=pd_sim_200_18?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00G9UR7BU&pd_rd_r=MG743CT158790BBRMQ8Y&pd_rd_w=9MexB&pd_rd_wg=GcV5v&psc=1&refRID=MG743CT158790BBRMQ8Y
I use the UTG 3.9" Ambidextrous Pocket Holster for my LC9s - also holds an extra magazine. Makes a nice package for putting in a bag, glove compartment, whatever. It's your gun - carry it however you want to but keep it safe and legal. I want my gun accessible but not quick-drawable so that setup works for me. I think they make other sizes - not sure what would fit your Sig.
I have a ton of different holsters (Alien Gear, StealthGear, etc.) and haven't found any as comfortable as that one. Even though it's dirt cheap, it has decent retention (you can tighten the screw really tight), great trigger coverage, and is hardly noticeable.
I have CYA kydex holsters for all of my CCWs now. Love those holsters. They’re good, durable, comfy, and fairly priced... you can get them for any major gun, I have one for my G19 and one for my Shield

OWB or IWB? IWB, I love my Galco Triton. PRices seem to have gone up since I bought mine a few years ago, but here it is for $43 shipped.
This is the bellyband https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DEGYTC6/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_uR6xzbJ84QXGG
What do you normally wear? I'm normally either in flannel or those sheer blouses with a cami underneath. Patterns help break up the shape so that does a lot for me. And the double layers I get from the sheer and cami are enough to effectively hide any printing. I have the hardest time with solid colors so when I have to wear that I gravitate towards darker ones.
I got one of the cookie cutter Kydex style ones from Amazon. Works pretty well for me.
I have never pocket carried a semi auto but I pocket carry my SW442 from time to time in a UTG Pocket Holster and it works well. I’ve never had an issue with it coming out of my pocket with the revolver. I also use it AIWB with my 442 and it stays in place well due to the textured bands around it. It’s really cheap also.
UTG Pocket Holster
DeSantis Nemesis
Looks like a wallet in jeans or shorts front pockets.. I'm sure the back would be the same just not as comfortable. The outer texture of the holster grips the inside of the pocket well so the gun will be the only thing coming out on a draw.

I don't use it in the summer because it's just too hot to run with for me. I have yet to come up with a good summer solution for running. Even sticky holsters get slick with the amount I sweat.
If you still need a holster for it I highly recommend this one. It has served me really well this last year or so.

Finding an IWB with locking retention will limit your options. If you can, try going OWB.
This is what every cop I've seen carries with OWB/belt mounted. I borrowed one for a class, and it is bombproof and comfortable, providing unbreakable retention and still offering a quick draw.

Safariland Glock 20, 21 6378 ALS
BLACKHAWK! Serpa Glock 21
From top to bottom (also the order in which they were bought):
The Shield is my EDC, but I live in Florida and sometimes it's too hot to dress to the gun, so I picked up the LCP on days I just want to throw it in my pocket. Also picked up the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster and am really liking it thus far (though I haven't been to the range with the holster yet)!
Safariland ALS is the only OWB holster I use. It's one of the most commonly used OWB holsters by law enforcement, and it fits in your price range. It has a thumb release so it's very secure.

I carry a Walther 5" PPQ, similar in size, just fine. For IWB I use a Clinger Stingray it's very comfy and works great. For cycling I use a 5.11 Pistol Pouch it's the only time I use off body but cycling, especially on longer rides, demands it.
When I was out of work and gas was cheaper, I used to take long drives to get my mind off of things. I took a drive up into the mountains, about 20 miles away from the main road. It was the middle of Summer, which means despite it being a forest, it was 90 plus degrees out. I was driving this cute little sports car, 2 door up this paved mountain road. I get to an outlook point, get out of my car to snap a picture. I locked myself out of the car while it was running and my phone was inside it.
Why on earth did I do that?
I didn't want to leave a car that was running to go get help...so I flagged down a car. The person told me there was a small time gas station about a mile away. The nice guy went and told them what was going on. A tow truck shows up. I'm expecting this hefty fee to have my locks popped. Nope. The guys pulls out a slim jim (that a car unlocking device) fresh from the wrapping, pops my lock. He charges me $15 for it and shows me how to hide it framework of my car in case I ever needed it.
And you know what? I used that thing at work dozens of times for other employees that did the very same thing.
This tactical holster is for my Natasha Romanoff avenger costume I've got the costume coming from China and this will complete it!

I use this but for my p938 with or without the flap it breaks up the look of the gun well
Yeah, if you have the G3 one they sent you the wrong holster.
This is the G3 one. Notice the model designations, M44BJG3Z0 vs M44BJG5Z0
If you compare your picture to the user picture of the G3 holster you'll notice the very tight stitching near the trigger guard area.
Whereas the the G5 holster user picture has very loose stitching.
Also on your holster it cleary states G3 where on your Amazon order link it clearly states M44BJG5Z0. I would contact Amazon about the mix up they may not even be aware

Whats the verdict on this?
Some sort of belly wrap holster

I have carried everything from comptac mtac, infidel, incog iwb, and for the life of me, I thought this holster was going to be a joke :https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007QG6ZGE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Turns out, it fits my carry needs for deeper concealment more than anything on this list.
I travel from site to site for cell tower inspections. I wear blue jeans and a company polo tucked in. This allows me to not have to blouse my shirt and look more presentable. I was going to try ankle holster next but this is the one for me.
I think this is a knockoff for smartholster.
5.11 had a triangle sling bag that has a concealed pouch on the front of the strap. When you wear it the holster operates like a cross draw. The pouch is detachable and can be rigged on and cross body strap if you can loop it on.
They used to sell just the holster but I believe it still comes with the bag.
Only really works if you have a cross body strap and doesn't fit much more than a compact, but the pull tabs unzip it quickly and for a while I was squeezing my P226 into it.

I run my ass off on the weekends and it is very comfortable. Firearm does't slip out because it has a retention strap that locks your firearm down.

I tried that as well, but the issue for me was the at the elastic was extremely uncomfortable against my skin. What I ended up doing was using the kydex shell with the included velcro backing from that with the belly band mentioned above (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DEGYTC6/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_yUgIzbV7RK0V4) and it works extremely well. I only wear it when I have to use deeper concealment, as I can get away with OWB at 3 with a sport shirt in summer months, and a fleece vest in cooler weather and have a much faster draw.
Sorry to be this guy, but I think your price is too high. $37.39 on Amazon W/ fast shipping
or you have the G17 version (fits G19) For $30.87
Of course I just purchased this holster off Amazon. Any reason I should cancel my order and get this one?
Yea that's a carry to the range sort of bag.

Here is a woman who runs with a G19
Here is a man who carries a G43 but also says it does a G17 fine (he didnt want to carry the weight of the G17)
Just because youre too fat to get off your ass doesnt mean the rest of us are too.

If you want to remove material to make room for your thumb, remove the material behind the magazine release, and below the slide rail.
> I think the problem is that the force required to pull the gun from the holster is causing me to fumble the thumb grip as it comes up because it comes up so fast
If the tension is so tight that you are fumbling when the holster releases (after pulling extremely hard to effect the release), you need to loose the tension screw.
