I wrote this for someone else but will put it here: I’m a married woman who’s been with the same partner for 15+ years, and I’ve worked in the women’s health field for a long time.

Many people don’t realize that *most women need more than just PIV/penetrative sex to orgasm. Most women need external/clitoral stimulation. This can include things like outercourse (rubbing the penis on the outside of the vagina), grinding, dry humping, vibrators, vibrating cock rings, using the knuckles/fingers/mouth directly on the clitoris, foreplay (massages, lingerie, role play...), and etc.

Here’s some female anatomy info if you need help finding the clitoris: https://badgirlsbible.com/vagina-diagram

Here’s some foreplay ideas: https://badgirlsbible.com/foreplay-tips

A good rule for heterosexual sex is to take care of the girl first (clitoral stimulation or foreplay) and THEN take care of the guy. Penetrative sex alone doesn’t help me orgasm, but it does give a sense of closeness and intimacy with my partner, so I do find it enjoyable. If I can orgasm first, however, then penetrative sex usually feels amazing afterwards and it can potentially help me climax even more.

Podcast on how women can learn to achieve orgasm - great listening!: https://badgirlsbible.com/34-the-secret-to-reaching-orgasm-during-sex-with-laurie-mintz-ph-d

For women, so much of sex is mental. If a woman cannot let a certain image of herself go, for whatever reason, it can be hard to feel sexy. This TED talk is great at pinpointing this issue: https://www.ted.com/talks/esther_perel_the_secret_to_desire_in_a_long_term_relationship

A couple more tips: If you don’t already, going bare or almost bare down there really helps to feel things more intensely. Many ladies wax (I don’t for personal and convenience reasons); I shave down to almost nothing with this ladies’ razor (it’s quick, easy, painless to use), and it makes for better feeling sex for both my partner and I. https://www.amazon.com/Braun-Silk-%C3%A9pil-Epilator-Electric-Packaging/dp/B00TI5ZN14

Having lube on hand is always nice as well. It doesn’t matter how ‘wet’ you are, extra lube can help with any friction or discomfort. Put a blanket down if you’re worried about being/getting messy!

If you’re having pain, itching or discomfort with condoms, switch to non-latex condoms - some people have a mild allergy and don’t even know it, and it can make a big difference.

Most of all relax, have fun and enjoy the moment and closeness with your partner! <3

Copied and pasted from another thread mostly, but I added a bunch of links in there. :)

>contouring products are great for softening jawlines and shifting the bone structures of your face. Eyeliner/mascaras are always essential and invest in a pair of really good tweezers, eyebrows makes and breaks a face.

I personally recommend:
contour kit, iono why this is so expensive on amazon but its hella cheap in drugstores, if you wanna spend a bit more for talc free

Brow shit: for trimming, nice sharp tip there, tweezerman is the best, they help you sharpen the tips when it gets dull! i have the mini one in pokadot, this is really handy if you have thicker hair that tends to get ingrown, obligatory cutest fucking thing in the universe

>Also invest in epilators, wax strips, or even laser if you have pale skin and dark hair. You really can't beat the smooth skin it gives you, and like when you shave and have darker hair, when the hair is starting to grow out but is still under the skin, you can kind of see it and can't really do anything about it. Even though this is a makeup subreddit, I feel like this is probably more important than foundations or blushes or stuff like that because five o clock shadow breaks immersion more than anything else.

can't go wrong with braun, for wax i just use good ol veet, but i've heard good things about this stuff

>Unless you have a naturally delicate jawline, stay away from bright/dark lipsticks until after hormonal treatments. Usually the male jawline is a bit more stronger and a bright lip draws attention to it.
>The good news is, usually testosterone makes the lashes thick and long! So curl them babies and put mascara on them! :)

Oh goodness! Ouchie!! I don’t have any now advice other than keeping it clean but for later advice one of these bad boys is going to be your friend for any hair on your inner bits or back door bits you’d like to clean up! It’s a “no touch” so you can’t cut yourself with it! I usually just sit on the toilet and reach down and do the trimming so everything falls in there for easy clean up. The fact that you can just do it by feel is really nice for the rear area if that is something is you want to do (do NOT feel pressured to do this area or any area, though! It’s your body, do what makes YOU comfortable!). Then be sure to shower after to clean any hair out of any crevices so you don’t get irritated.

u/emiririn · 1 pointr/asktransgender

What do you want to use it for? People will probably cringe but I use one pretty regularly for private parts and it works really well. This is the one I use. I usually take the cap off for more flexibility and use it underwater and it doesn't hurt too much. I've never used another one but I'm really happy with this one. It's lasted me well over a year so far, rechargeable, and one of those things that I really couldn't have lived without.

u/ache_up · 5 pointsr/transtimelines

Facial hair is really the only thing that's killing you right now. I know electrolysis is super expensive, but you might want to look into some better ways of taking the shadow off. Orange, cream based makeup tends to work pretty well, and you can also get more effective epilators for cheap like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QILP7SK

u/xanoran84 · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I got really good at making sugar, actually, following this tutorial, so it's the only thing I've done for the past few years (always keep in mind sugar darkens really fast. As soon as those bubbles start to color even a little bit, turn the heat waaayyy down and pay close attention). I cut up old jeans for waxing strips and use an old steel toothless dinner knife to spread on a thin layer. If the sugar is cooked the right way, it should come away clean every time (no gooey sticky mess).

Waxing I did before and the easiest ones were probably those pre-waxed strips from Sally Hanson. Otherwise I used the Sally Hansen sugar wax kit (it worked... sometimes), but that sugaring recipe works waayy better once you get the technique down and is far cheaper.

Also, keep in mind some areas are easier to wax/sugar than others. For me, anywhere the skin is loose and the hair is coarse (underarms, bikini lines) is the easiest. The hair always comes away very easily and almost painlessly (bit of a tingle). If the hair is really fine and the skin is thin (like arm or belly hair), it hurts like a bitch for me. I end up with crazy amounts of ingrown hairs. Everyone's different though so ymmv.

I'm looking into getting an epilady soon though since my time has just been really limited lately. My mom uses one to great effect (and has since before I can remember).

For all of this stuff, if you've never dilapidated in this manner before (i.e. ripping it out in one go), then please note that it will hurt the worst the first time around. Hair grows cyclically and every hair is on a different growing schedule. After the first time, only about 1/2-1/4 of the hair will grow back at a time, so maintenance is your best friend.

u/lilacattak · 1 pointr/RedditLaqueristas

I've been eyeing the Bundle Monster for awhile but couldn't bring myself to purchase it (I'm a super-cheap person)! Just pulled the trigger and bought these.

Anyone have experience with MASH plates? Better/worse than Bundle Monster? I'm assuming they can't compare with Konad's, but at this price, that's OK.

It looks like an older MASH set, currently out of stock on Amazon, has excellent reviews.

u/Furryious · 3 pointsr/feminineboys

I would start by shaving all your body hair. Buy an Epilator from Amazon I reccomend the Amazon Epilator ok, then I would keep epilating the whole body. The belly is painful but trust me it's Soo worth the effort. You can epilate anywhere on the body. IPL removal is helpful but you must keep doing it and might as well Epilate too. The Face I would reccomend professional Laser hair removal. It's $$$$ though. The Epilator will do a fine job on most the body. Anyways get one you can plug into the wall cause you will want to do it often for a while.

u/zena-marie · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

You definitely want AHAs and retinols going on before something with a lotiony consistency, here is why! http://www.dermtv.com/what-order-apply-your-skin-care-products. From what I have heard, drugstore and prescription retinoids do the same thing - the drugstore brands just take a longer time to achieve the same effects since they are typically a much lower concentration that prescription products. I am alsooo thinking that maybe the cerave in the winter should go on TOP of your sunscreen, not under, for the same reasons discussed in the video. For hair removal, have you heard of/ever tried an epilator? They are basically electronic tweezers. I have one and though the sensation took some getting used to but I love it for taking care of upper lip hair! This is the one I use: http://www.amazon.com/Emjoi-Epi-Slim-Epilator-Operated/dp/B007MQ9DYO/ref=sr_1_11?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1418678977&sr=1-11

http://www.amazon.com/Braun-SE7280-Silk-Epil-Xpressive-Epilator/dp/B0016GTOFY

This is what im using and I think it's pretty awesome. I don't know if all the new ones are washable or not but if possible make sure you get the washable ones. When i got it, it came with a pack of wipes that you use before you use the epilator, and it helps a lot with the process.

I find that without the wipes, it's easier to get red bumps (that may or may not scar, i personally bruise and scar easily) from doing it too fast.

There is also this: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hierarchy.jhtml?brandId=5952
which prevents ingrown hair.

u/Cupcakesoap · 5 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I have this facial hair threading wand and it's the greatest thimg ever. Takes about 2 minutes to get rid of all the hairs and is super cheap (look around Amazon, you'll find for $1 somewhere). I love it.

u/aktuarie · 1 pointr/AskTrollX

I've used a couple. One of them was a Clio - I liked the shape, it made it easier to hold. Eventually it just shortcircuited.

Now I have one by Remington that I can't find an example of, but they have this one that looks pretty close. It does a good job and since the head is smaller than the Clio, has more precision (but takes more strokes). Remington is a very reliable brand from my experience - 90% of my bathroom appliances are by them.

Both of the shavers I've had are wet/dry which I think is really important. I think it does a little bit better job dry but I'm too lazy and usually just do a bit of trimming in the shower when my conditioner is soaking in.

u/oliphantine · 2 pointsr/ladyshavers

Mine looks just like this one but it's a way older version obviously. Braun Silk-Epil 7521 Wet and Dry Epilator (Pink).

When mine dies i will buy this one: Braun SE 7561 Silk-Epil Wet and Dry Epilator (Silver) cause it has all the fancy attachments heads that I'd love to try and says it's only a few dollars more.

My current one is also a wet & dry version. I don't think I've ever actually tried it in the shower, but that might help with the pain if you need it and have that option. Not sure though.

Also some things I've remembered.

  • Most important thing ever, hold the skin taut while epilating. It'll reduce the chance of pinching and reduce the pain a bit. This is important for all waxing in general though too

  • you can also try to use a numbing cream beforehand. Example, Emla Numbing Anesthetic Cream 5% Cream 30G Tattoo. You might be able to just use a lidocaine gel as well if you find a cheaper option (I would ask your pharmacist to make sure it's safe for that purpose before using)

u/KnowNothing_JonSnoo · 19 pointsr/MtF

Nair should work but it will grow back fast. (within a day or two)

You could go get waxed which would last about a month.

Then there's the epilator option, you're gonna hate me but this is the best solution I found for hair removal in general. https://www.amazon.ca/Braun-Silk-epil-7-561-Epilator-Epilation/dp/B06WP5C49K

Pop 2 tylenols & 2 advils, take a shower and wait half an hour, then go to town on it. It's important to tighten the skin with your other hand for it to work well and it also helps with the pain. I also found that using a body brush helps with making the hair stand out and maybe it's in my mind but it also seems to help with the pain.

u/seizy · 3 pointsr/AskWomen

I trim with an electric trimmer, like this one (http://www.amazon.com/Remington-WPG4020A-Body-Bikini-Grooming/dp/B00BB5YI0Q/ref=sr_1_7?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1427510122&sr=1-7&keywords=trimmer+for+women)

I don't like to shave because I feel like it's a lot of maintenance, but keeping tidy without it letting it get overgrown is easy with a trimmer. It also usually has a blade-guard, so it doesn't nick or get super short/uneven.

u/technoskittles · 0 pointsr/DoesAnybodyElse

As a hetero male on a topic such as this, I recommend an automatic tweezer, something like this. It's fast and it works. I sound like a shitty infomercial but I don't know how else to put it.
EDIT: lol ok downvote me, I'm just trying to help.
Unless you saw through my viral marketing scheme, then okay you got me--I've been using this account for months just so I could shill for a tweezer company, yep...

u/Shut_Reddit_Down · 1 pointr/MtF

If you don't mind pain you can epilate. You'd want to spend at least $100 to get a good one. It rips the hairs out at the root similar to waxing, meaning you get perfect silky smooth skin for a couple weeks or so every time you use it, and it damages the follicles so you should quickly notice your hair growing back finer and lighter each time. I have an exceptional pain tolerance but I felt like throwing up the first time I used it but it quickly got easier.

Here is a solid and affordable one.

u/TheTrueRang · 1 pointr/malegrooming

As someone who has experimented with all kinds of ways of getting rid of back hair, I wouldn't recommend Nair. As others have said, Nair has a really awful chemical smell that has a tendency to linger even after you shower and wash it away, and you still have the same problem you do with waxing/shaving, which is that it's impossible to reach certain areas on your back on your own.

After years of trying everything under the sun, I highly recommend buying a Mangroomer. It's a little pricey, around $50-60 bucks, but it is super easy to use and is quality made, not flimsy at all. It's basically a back scratcher with an electric razor on the end. A lot of the reviews on Amazon say that the electric razor isn't powerful enough but I think those people just don't know how to shave. I have a ludicrously hairy back and I manage to get it all off on a regular basis.

TL DR: Buy a Mangroomer

u/HessesAdventure · 5 pointsr/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

I bought this one off of amazon and I'm super happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077PLO60/

u/racheeeanne · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

Legs and underarms: Epilator. I have this one and I like it.

Bikini: Sugaring and/or trimmer like this

Every once in a while I will trim my upper lip if it's grown in really dark with something like this

u/vedette123 · 3 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

This isn't on your list but I really like mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0077PLO60/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Apparently it's made just like the most expensive Braun epilators but with a cord which I don't mind.

u/valentinedoux · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I have a Braun SE 5280 Epil 5. It works quite well. I love how it comes with ice glove.

u/VicugnaPacos · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I just did a bunch of research on this like two days ago! For my purposes, it came down pretty close between this Panasonic and this Braun. I picked the Braun and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

u/MerryKerry · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

These rollers exist, though I personally found it a bit irritating/painful to use. If you find any other kind of oil that you aren't allergic to, you could remove excess wax with that, and just wash it off afterward. Epilators are also pretty easy to use, and the small ones aren't too expensive.

u/Ambanivolo · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

If you want to try a cheaper option and don't mind waiting for a month or so there are cheap Asian options on Amazon.

I bought this one ($1.95) and it works great once you get the hang of it.

u/hamboneTdestroyer · 2 pointsr/WTF

Thanks again!!! I also notice there is a newer version out there, so I might just go for that...

Considering the amount I was planning on paying for laser hair removal (and hearing about how it could grow back afterwards), I figure to get a variety of dedicated products:

Razorba War Hammer Back Hair Shaver (http://www.amazon.com/Razorba-War-Hammer-Back-Shaver/dp/B002MUAP5G/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hpc_3)
Mangroomer Sku 211-6 Professional Do-it-yourself Electric Back Hair Shaver (http://www.amazon.com/Mangroomer-211-6-Professional-yourself-Electric/dp/B003NCXXIS/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hpc_2)
Remington BHT600 Body and Back Groomer (http://www.amazon.com/Remington-BHT600-Body-Back-Groomer/dp/B002BA5KNO/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hpc_4)

Man...I didn't even know ANY dedicated stuff was out there...The one time I "handled things myself", I basically taped a razor to a broom handle...

u/alanayvonne · 9 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Or you could try an Epilator. I have this one and I really like it. It hurts at first but you get used to it pretty fast and if you keep up with it the hairs seems to come back a lot slower. I've even used it on my bikini line.

It looks like they've come out with newer models and mine is no longer sold.

u/SigmaSeed · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Don't give me that look (nsfw), or this here epilator. Kitten mittens

Btw, I really loved that Royal Bow necklace.

u/EuphoricPanda · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

It doesn't leave any shadowing and gets easier with each use because only a few hairs in the growth phase (anagen) pop up at a time and they are much finer at first. I have very dark hair in my underarms that leaves a shadow, but epilation solved that for me. I'd let it grow past stubble a little, so the tweezers have something to grab on to, but it doesn't need much length at all.

I use this one.

u/KuriousGirl · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Trust me when I say it's a different kind of pain when it comes to waxing and plucking. My sister who is far more hairer then me and waxes almost every few weeks with no pain couldn't handle using the epilator.
I use this one, pretty simple and has great results -

Braun Silk Epil 1/1170 Epilator https://www.amazon.in/dp/B005GRH5M8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_sk4DCb9B3FGH4

Here is another nice option
Braun Series-3/3270 Epilator https://www.amazon.in/dp/B006J1SA6A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_pn4DCbHMA8HKN

You seriously won't need the million head options. So won't waste 140$ in it.
Hope my links open as it's Amazon India 😋

It's worth buying, period

u/CompletelyAverage · 1 pointr/AskTrollX

My two cents: it does hurt but I get an adrenaline high afterwards which makes me feel like superwoman. So there's that.

It really just depends on the technician. I would go to a bigger salon/spa which gets a lot of business and see a person whose only job is waxing.

Another option, which I've recently gotten into, is epilating. It pulls out the hair so you get long lasting results like waxing, but you can do it at home at your own pace and the reusable epilator costs less than a brazilian does. You might not be able to go full brazilian with an epilator though. Here's the epilator I own.

u/NANAs_Mic · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I'm not sure what they're called, actually. This is what I originally saw mentioned, I think. There are lots of variations, but the cheapest are about $1.

This is the specific one I got, though, and I think it's worth the extra cost. With the cheaper ones, you have to keep it bent against your skin, but this one holds the correct shape all on its own. I like it because I can just roll the thing over my face without even paying much attention to it. Like I was just playing with it while I was watching Project Runway, no mirror or anything.

Like I said, it didn't hurt for me at all--like a tingly prickle on my cheeks--but it probably would hurt more for coarse hairs. It works similar to threading or tweezing in that it's yanking hairs out by the root, but it's so much more convenient.

u/Wildernessinabox · 0 pointsr/actuallesbians

u/ayakokiyomizu · 1 pointr/PCOS

If you only need it for upper lip, I'd say get a smaller one like this, for instance. I have it and it works pretty well, but I upgraded because I needed one with a bigger head. I still use the smaller one on my upper lip.

u/FinnPixie · 2 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

I've got this and it's been pretty reliable (had it for 3 years now, and had another Braun one for 7yrs before that).

u/Quiet_Fox_ · 180 pointsr/AskWomen

If you regularly shave large sections of your body more than 3x per week (like I used to) an epilator.

It hurts pretty badly in some areas, but after 3 weeks of regular use I realized that it hurt less and less each time. When the hairs grow back they're brand new, pointy on the tip (not shaved sharp like shaving) and the hair all starts growing back at different speeds. You start doing it less and less often and now the only time I shave with a razor is when I'm expecting up-close-and-personal time with someone.

*edit on the ingrown hairs: every day you have to rub your skin the opposite direction the hairs grow in. Exfoliate hard, like you're trying to scrub out a stain. This has dramatically but back on the number of ingrown hairs, and I think the few ones that do are worth only epilating once a week and not getting razor burn.

**extra: also lotion up LIBERALLY.

u/cutol · 4 pointsr/disability

Instead of trimming, you could try a single hair epilatorepilator. That would remove the hairs for longer periods, allowing much less maintenance. Or waxing, even. Both better than trimming, as they'll put weeks or even months between maintenance. You could probably have the waxing done at any hair salon.

u/nedonedonedo · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

judging form the length of the hair in my face of the one I pulled and the speed my hair grows, I'll probably get almost a month before I have to do it again. if I use something like this I think it would come out to the same time overall. I know it will take more time each time I remove hair, but I think it's safe since no one said it wasn't

I use a small, battery-powered epilator. It's like lots of tweezers running at once, and is way faster. I've been using it on my shaft and sack for a couple of years now.

I know right...I think something like this may be in order.

u/Whatdoesntkillme · 1 pointr/gaybros

You can use the mangroomer

or the norelco bodygroom plus*

*plus is important because it comes with the back extension. I've used both and they both work well. The norelco gets a much closer cut tho.

Just realised that I've been using an epilator on/off for about 20 years. The new ones are much better than the old school [spring coiled ones] (https://www.amazon.com/Epilady-EP-800-10-Classic-Coil-Epilator/dp/B00B5ICA3G). They hurt! My best advice is to hold the skin taught around the area you're working on and move the epilator in circles. Keep at it and the hair regrowth with slow (I have bald patches all over my legs) and the pain will diminish!

Yeah something like this. You’ll see the little accessories include 2 different length eyebrow trimming guards. Can find at any CVS or Walmart for under $15.

LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE: always buy the ones marketing to women. I bought a “unisex” one when my last one broke and found out that the guards are way shorter and almost shaved a brow off entirely. 🤣

I can't speak to waxing, but shaving your back isn't that difficult if you get one of these:

I use an old school face epilator for my upper lip. Luckily that seems to be the only area I have a significant issue. It is a bit painful but not as painful as waxing in my opinion. Anything it misses I tweez quickly. I have the emjoi epislim, but there's other models out there. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0007CXQUW/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_194_of_7?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=PF26KR8CX73GJVA978AJ laser hair removal did not work for me.

I use the real deal--don't know the exact model, but it's an electric Braun one, similar to this

This is the epilator that I got.

I use this one: Braun Silk-épil 9 9-521 Women's Epilator, Electric Hair Removal, Cordless, Wet & Dry, White/Pink https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TI5ZN14/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_B8esDb4Z530ZQ

I have a fairly expensive epilator and I found the exact same thing... It's slow and doesn't even make my legs smooth.

u/plutonium743 · 6 pointsr/AskWomen

It depends on what kind of electric razor it is. If it's a bladed edge (like the kind you shave your head with) it's not possible to get completely smooth. If it's a foil razor (similar to a guy's facial razor) then you can get almost completely smooth. I only learned about the latter when I bought a razor that has interchangeable heads of each kind.

Edit: This is the one I have

u/limitedboob · 12 pointsr/popping

I use this one.

Honestly, getting waxed and then following up with an epilator (I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004QI8UJK/) has worked the best for me. Yeah, it hurts like hell the first couple times, but as long as you don't let the new hairs grow in for too long, you stop feeling pain pretty soon. AND you don't have to keep buying razors. It's the cost of the epilator and one brazilian/Hollywood wax (two if you don't keep up on it right away).

u/iamkourtneyanne · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Okay, here: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0077PLNNE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

There's a newer model that is the exact same thing just much cheaper here: https://www.amazon.ca/Braun-7561-Silk-Epil-Epilator-Silver/dp/B00X164MHW/ref=dp_ob_title_hpc

Works in/out of the shower. If you choose to epilate there are multiple heads to choose from . The razor head is smooth and I use all the time as my electric razor. Charges well and I have no issues with it.

Just so you have this information:

I have always had ingrown hair issues with shaving, and I used to get waxed by someone who was amazing. When it grew back it was softer and not all itchy and painful like when you shave. BUT that was when I was in college. After I graduated I moved cross country. I could never find someone as good and as inexpensive as her again and then it was HIGHLY unpleasant, nobody would listen to me when I said I wanted to keep most of the hair on the front where I thought it should grow and just get rid of the "extra" stuff around the edges, and I stopped doing it.

Now I just trim things and think it's fine. I bought one of those electric trimmer things from Target in the razor aisle, ~$25. Not the mini one -- the bigger one that's advertised for armpits. This one.

Since there's a bunch of people suggesting epilators, I'll join the party...

Epilate! It's the beeeest. Hurts like hell for a while, but so worth it, and really easy once you've done it for a while.

Also, when I switched from a cheaper ($60) one to a pricier epilator... Life-changing. The difference in pain levels and efficiency is astounding. The more expensive one hurts way less and pulls hairs quickly and cleanly instead of breaking them.

For reference: http://www.amazon.com/Braun-Silk-Epil-Wet-Cordless-Epilator/dp/B00TI5ZN14 (SO GOOD.)

u/restlessariel · 1 pointr/MtF

Here’s the one I bought, but there are cheaper ones available for as low as 30 dollars. Amazon Link

u/chuckiestealady · 3 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

Me three. I get regrowth so fine I have to search to find/feel it. Hurts a tiny bit at first but take a paracetamol and use an ice pack until you're used to it. The [Braun silk epil 5] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0077PLO60/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492287586&sr=8-1&keywords=braun+silk+epil+5) comes with a massage fitting to soothe, and an ice pack mitt to numb the top layer of flesh on the next patch of leg as you go. I don't regret mine at all. I prefer it to waxing as you don't need 2cms of itchy ugly regrowth before you can redo it and don't have sticky skin afterwards. Also I can do it lazily on my own sofa or bed without having to haul my sorry backside to a salon. Gosh I sound old. Anyway, I highly recommend an epilator.

I do not shave, I use an epilator !

An earlier model of this one "Braun Silk-pil 5 Power 5280 Epilator
"
I started using the epilator about 10 years ago. The first time was hard on the morale, the pain was almost too much !

Each time I was using it the pain was diminishing. After a few months, the only thing I was feeling, was the pulling of the hair, no pain.

Now, 10 years later, I only need to use it twice a month, it takes about 30 minutes.

Before you start saying that you don't like pain... You can choose some pain those first times with the epilator, or shave every other day... Or hide the legs ! :-)

Sophie❤💕

edit: In summer, when it is a really hot day, just imagine yourself, bare legs, short or mini skirt.... It's so much more comfortable than leggings, and way more feminine !

u/micultra8 · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

Something like this has totally changed my hair removal routine. Takes a bit getting used to, but I have far less hair than I used to, from killing the follicles. I also used to wax my legs myself, but it's messier than I'd like.

u/tessagrace · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I have an inexpensive one, this Braun model (it's $41 now, price must have gone up in the past year).

I use it on my legs. It hurt a lot at first, but after about the third time, it was just a little uncomfortable, and now it's barely noticeable.

u/emmster · 2 pointsr/SubredditDrama

I use this one. currently. But I started with a $20 one I picked up at the drug store.

It takes me about ten minutes to do legs, bikini line, and underarms. Usually I just sit on a towel on the bed and do it while I watch tv. (Towel to catch the little hairs, of course.) It hurts the first time. But only while it's actually pulling the hair out. Taking an ibuprofen first helps. If you keep doing it every 2 weeks or so, it really doesn't hurt after that, because you won't have as many hairs growing at the same time. Plucking my eyebrows is way worse than epilating everything else. Plus, no razor rash and no ingrown hairs, which is nice.

u/snippybitch · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

This is the one I have. It's like waxing but very slowly, and yes it hurts. However, the hair is much softer now and not as obvious if I have some hair on my legs. The knees are the worst part, I guess my skin is very sensitive there!
