-Pizza Rocker because I feel like it gets the job done faster and has the added bonus of feeling like a legit chef using it 😂

-I keep a baseball bat tucked behind the bedroom door just in case

-current favorite app other than alien blue for Reddit

-Holla

-Does a tub count as furniture 😂 I take hot baths a lot for migraines so I'd say that but if it doesn't count then I'll say the couch because the living room has really great natural lighting and it's just a happy and comfortable place to chill out

-Something I want is a new bed or at least a headboard that doesn't look like it belongs to a teenage boy. I hate the one we have so I hide it with pillows lol

Thank you for the contest shrdbrd you lazy bum, heres some cool stuff!

Always first on the list is tidy things up. Messy doesn't look cozy or comfortable. Clear off the surfaces of the dressers and side tables.

  • your walls are looking a bit rough. Are you able to paint them? If you already have brushes and supplies, then that's just a $50 fix to really change up the feel of the room. Adding in supplies it'd be about $100 (could be less if you bargain shop).

  • The bed really needs a headboard. Amazon has some really reasonably priced ones. Something like this.

  • The random bits on the walls of above the windows/doors needs to go. More artwork is great, but properly hang it on the wall.

  • The curtain is too light and not properly hung. Get two panels of a heavy, more textured material and then add some tie backs for them.

  • For a more cozy look, add more pillows to the bed, a warm textured large rug, and a nice sized plant somewhere.

  • Rather than the two little side tables on "her" side, get one sturdy night stand. Something like this that has solid drawers for storing things. Add a side lamp to help with lighting. What is that floating lampshade by the black wall art stuff? It seems really out of place.

  • Only keep the chaise if you actually sit in and use it. I'd slide it a bit further away from the chest of drawers, more towards the corner. Put a nice reading lamp next to it and a large floor plant on the other end/right in front of the window.

Hi all! I have little/no woodworking experience, but I just received a new circular saw and want to try my first project. I really like this headboard (pictured here) on Amazon. It's $276 but I think I can make it cheaper and would be a fun thing to spend the weekend trying. How diffcult would something like this be for a rank beginner? Do you have any advice before I get started?

Check out this Amazon headboard -- gray and black, $60!

If you just want something to keep your desk chair from sinking, one of those vinyl chair mats is probably best. They come in plenty of colors (including clear). Jute and other woven fibers can be fairly knobbly so might not be the best choice for under a wheelie chair.

Good luck and have fun!

Get a large piece of art that fits with your style (photo print, canvas, whatever--I got a big canvas of a British Airways Concord above my bed) for the wall on the right. Get a headboard check out overstock.com, they have some great ones. Or you can get some on amazon for like 80 [Modway Lily Queen Upholstered Linen Headboard in Gray] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HVW3TXA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_UjAtybSGF1Q06). Paint 2 walls grey and 2 either a muted green or blue (I was always taught to put cool colors in the bedroom).

Ok #1 Why are you worried about roaches? Do you have a huge roach problem? Call an exterminator because roaches can get wherever the fuck they want. Don't eat in the bed so they won't go looking for a snack under your sheets.

That frame looks nice but I would get something with a headboard instead, because that's much more sophisticated. If you're concerned about portability, you can get a simple metal frame with a nice headboard.

something like this or this?

if so, "leather headboard," "upholstered headboard," "leather bed," etc. would be some good search terms for you.

I swear to puppies I'm going to throw a psychotic fit.

Well, if I ever get this then the hammers won't be the only thing squeaking!

Target also have these large square pillows. They can be found cheapish and they are to be put standing up. They kind of like make a headboard until you can afford a headboard (though there are some good cheap options on amazon imo https://www.amazon.com/Zinus-Jessica-Modern-Upholstered-Headboard/dp/B073R15VZC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=headboard&qid=1574158010&sr=8-6)

The wall above the headboard is 140" x 55", and I am looking for a large statement piece for it. Any suggestions?

Link to the headboard and the LED tape I used.

Do you have a budget for a storage/bookshelf headboard? Or you could look to buy/build something like this for a lot cheaper.
