No, but I read good things about it when that controversy about the knockoffs and how Amazon wasn't doing enough (to keep them separate, let alone put a stop to it) cropped up a little while ago. I think there was a thread about it here, but it got around the tech news cycle. I almost bought one on principle to support a small business...

If I had any high shelves near my desk I'd probably have one as it would be ideal, there's not much in the way of furniture near my desk but another desk (in L or perpendicular, but not right next to each other) and a small file cabinet w/two drawers atop of which sits my PC desktop (cube case, Corsair Air 540). With one exception they're all display-like desk stands.

I started off with a not-inexpensive (like $30?) hand towel holder from Crate & Barrel, the darn thing is supposed to be stainless steel and made for bathrooms and it still has a little bit of rust, bleh... Looks nice and works but the center arm slips in between the headband cushions of the HD 600 so that stand got repurposed before long. I think it's holding actual towels now at my parent's.

Atop my PC I have the Silverstone one, it's priced kinda ridiculous (tho I got it a bit cheaper) but it is solid as heck. I seldom exaggerate build quality just because something is metal, but this is made out of thick chunks of aluminum. I didn't really get it because of that tho, I just thought the shape of the top arm and the fact that it has space for 2 headphones was ideal, and so I have my HD6XX & gaming headphones on it.

I tried maybe 1-2 other ones that have since disappeared from Amazon and from my place, and an Omega style (but a solid block) wood one from Massdrop which I didn't like much (the finish wasn't as nice as depicted but not terrible enough to return). I had the Brainwavz acrylic one in the shape of the Omegas too, I keep it around for photos or something. (it was cheap tho, I dunno what the current vendor is thinking)

Currently still in use there's the elago which does look pretty stylish but might be even more overpriced than the Silverstone tbh (the latter is way sturdier, the elago does come assembled tho), it's on my nightstand for whatever makes it's way there (holding E-MU/CAL PHs atm).

The other one still in use and my most recent purchase is this Jokitech, actually ended up getting two of them, I think this is one of the better values as far as minimalist metal stands... And the top portion easily has the best shape of all (maybe a tie with the Silverstone which will more easily accommodate really large headbands). It's well cushioned and will be gentler on headband padding than most things I've seen.

Those are holding my HD 600 & PM-3 in the living room... I also have a clamp style stand on the secondary desk, mostly for temporary use since the amp is on the main desk. It has the same kinda pleather padding as the Jokitech (just less of it), I think Sennheiser actually used to sell the very same stand under their name.

Pretty sure that adds up to more stands than headphones (even if I were to pull out my XS from their case and some old/unused headphone out)... Like I said, do as I say and not as I do kids! Get you some wood, some skills, and make a stand for $10 like ishca.

Nice, a sleek black and white aesthetic. Nothing is out of place here. Glad you went with a mouse mat with a small logo.

I don't have any suggestions really since it's all but perfect. I can offer a potential upgrade or two if you have money that needs spending!

A headphone stand has already been mentioned but the style of headphone stand that you decide to go with is also a consideration. You can get ones that stand on your desk. These are good if you want the headphones to be a point of attention on the desk. They are nice-looking Grados so might be a good idea.

If you want headphones on your desk but not to take up any space then you can get ones that attach to the edge like this or to the underside of the desk like this.

If you don't want them to be anywhere near the desk then you can find wall mounted ones or something you can stick to the side of a desk leg if it's wide enough à la this.

If you want a better quality LED bulb for your lamp (because it is a nice lamp!) then it might be worth investing into some high CRI (90+, ideally ~95-97) LED bulbs. They can be expensive but they are very nice. Make sure that you double-check the base type of the bulb already in the lamp before you buy. Yuji LED sell what are probably the best LED bulbs you can buy right now. You can also choose between colour temperature. If you only use the lamp during the evening then go for the 3000K option for a warmer colour.

For a future and more expensive investment (that could also become a hobby), you should look into buying or building a custom mechanical keyboard. Your setup would love it! Check out /r/MechanicalKeyboards if you're interested.

Hope this helps!

Miles.

Giant mouse pads are always nice. :+1:

Some other ideas just for brainstorming fodder:

  1. Definitely on the more expensive side, but I have some friends who put a Nanoleaf on their office wall and it's definitely a showpiece. Could go nicely with the rest of the lighting gear depending on your room setup, and it's reconfigurable if he wants to switch up the design. You can also connect it to the PC so it lights up to music / gaming / etc. (Have not seen this in action beyond YouTube videos, but seems neat!)
  2. It looks like Corsair makes an RGB headset stand, which could be neat too
  3. In general, nice headsets are good for online gaming with friends, and nice speakers are good if that's his primary gaming setup

    Hope that helps!
u/jonslegos · 2 pointsr/desksetup

Edit: you already had a headphone stand, I missed it lol

Edit 2: disregard HDMI switch, thought thing in bottom left was PC.

This. Also OP, not necessary but to organize the cords get some cable ties off of Amazon. They're dirt cheap. To make it more gamer friendly, (if multiplayer, or use headphones) but a headphone stand. Something like this.

https://www.amazon.com/Headphone-New-Earphone-Supporting-Headphones/dp/B01GJQ7N94/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?adgrpid=56079388796&hvadid=274708798037&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9001919&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=6591569231240397386&hvtargid=kwd-299114086706&keywords=headphones+stand&qid=1554330444&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Also recommend an HDMI Switch to go between PC and Console if you don't have one already.

https://www.amazon.com/gofanco-60Hz-Switch-remote-control/dp/B07L6KZC61/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=55494400545&hvadid=274680591729&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=9001919&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=7618591615831571246&hvtargid=kwd-307173574944&keywords=hdmi+switch+with+remote&qid=1554330522&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

Lastly, to make it look really cool with gaming aesthetics, I recommend LED light strips, I don't own any personally, but the smart ones where you can set it to different modes and colors are really cool. I would not only cover the sides of your desk, I would do the monitor as well.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, hope this helped OP :)

u/t-nutz · 1 pointr/Vive

I'll just mention stuff I've tried myself.

If money is no object, multiple monitors or at least headless ghosts are ironically useful in virtual desktop applications like Bigscreen. I run 3x2560x1600 in one large screen. Bigscreen has an update coming for multiple monitors too. Big physical screens are nice for spectators/multiplayer.

Until the wireless adapter comes out, a decently long displayport cable and longer USB cable running to the link box to cover the large play area and if you have an original Vive, the new 3-in-1 cable with a sleeve.

I've been looking at [this overhead pulley thing](https://www.amazon.com/MDW-Retractable-Management-Headset-Adhesive/dp/B01M6EB8DM/
) but I haven't actually tried it yet.

Two Vives would be good, you can run them off the same 2 base stations and partition the space with chaperone. I run a Rift and a Vive in the same room.

Get an assistant/intern/wife/child to help you set up/put things away, maintain everything, patch/update, find new content, etc...

Accessories:

  • Wireless headset/mic and an anchor for it
  • HOTAS, pedals (CH Throttle, T16000M, driving pedals for Elite Dangerous)
  • Force feedback wheel/pedals/shifter (old G25 here and the Simraceway wheel - surprisingly precise handheld wheel you don't mount to anything)
  • Xbox one controllers
  • Steam controllers
  • X-Arcade/NES/whatever emulation controllers
  • Leap Motion
  • Charging stations and rechargeable batteries
  • Locomotion options like Omni (Virtuix still hasn't shown up yet) / PocketStrafe / Wii balance board w/ GlovePie hacks

You might want a good recording setup with mixed reality support as well.

    e: stuff I forgot

  • Transducer like a buttkicker for tactile feedback in seated experiences (mine is a DIY) / Subpac wearable for standing

Edit: I added links to Amazon products that are pretty nice and fit into your budget, if none of these work or you wanted advice on finding similar ones on slightly cheaper budgets just let me know and I'd love to help out!

I realize some people like them, and I mean no disrespect to u/MNLegoBoy but please do not get him a steam controller. I own one and me and everyone I've ever known who used one absolutely hated it.

If he only has one monitor in his setup I would highly suggest getting him a decent second monitor to have discord, youtube, or whatever else he wants up while he plays. It can be really helpful and never hurts to have.

If that doesn't work, you know about his setup...

and he uses a headset with a built-in mic I would suggest getting him this microphone and this interface. Even though they're cheap they're more than good enough and make people feel more legit because they're more like a streamer setup.

and he really likes his headphones/has really nice headphones but doesn't have a headphone stand or mount for him to keep his headphones on and keep his desk organized.

and he's into fighting games or older arcade games you could get him a fighting stick (be careful on this one, if he doesn't have room or likes using his KBM I wouldn't suggest it. It might also help to get one on a higher budget.)

u/alanpsk · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I'm going to suggest a few things because your setup has a lot of potentials. First, mount that CRG9. That behemoth is a great monitor but the stand just takes up too much space, once you mount it, it will give you an unbelievable amount of desk space. Second, drill a hole and route your mouse and keyboard cord thru it. Also, get something like this to hang your headset underneath the table. Last but not least, put some pictures or your collection or what not onto the wall to make it more personal. Afterward, your setup will look much better and super clean. Hope that helps.

u/MentalToast · 5 pointsr/battlestations

Absolutely no prob :)

My mom reviews electronics for a living so we end up getting tons of new devices really often and generally need to find cables to match so things are being switched out and added in all the time. To make it more convenient instead of having to go sort through a box or into a drawer and untangle cables I wanted something super easy access to so that if i needed an hdmi , bam, I had one. Same with the others.

For the controllers I used Stick-On Game Controller Hooks 2 Pack. The snes and nes usb controllers are simply hung via a tack.

I got a simple ~$10 corkboard from walmart, used a label maker for the labels and then used CraZy TACKz 36tacks to hang the cables. I wouldn't recommend them though, a standard tack works better honestly ( In theory a hook is great but they loosen and then swing around making it a pain to re-orient them when you're taking things on and off frequently.)

The headphones under the desk is The Anchor Great adhesive, super cheap and can orient it vertically or horizontally which lets you fit two pair ( in my case one for skype/discord+gaming and the other for general use since it has better quality but no mic)

---
For anyone else curious about the other pieces of the set up:

the desk is Series A:72inch Desk by Bush Business Furinture.

The lights are EconoLed RGB 5M 3528 LED Strip Light 300leds

Mousepad is Reflex Lab Huge Gaming Mouse Pad

The headphones are :
SteelSeries Arctis 5
and Audio-Technica ATH-A900X

Monitors are : ASUS VN279QL and Dell U3417W FR3PK

Keyboard is : Razer BlackWidow X Tournament Edition Chroma

Mouse is : Razer Naga Hex v2

A good headphone stand:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MCVOILM/

A cool glass/metal stand thing to put under your tower or monitor:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AJHCQD8/

A big long mouse+keyboard pad that like a rug, ties your whole desk together:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N0LDFR8/

A cool scissor arm to hold & move your microphone:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DY1F2CS/

For things that are more significant than accessories: Get some active studio monitor speakers, a nice dac/pre-amp/mixer, a mechanical or electrostatic-capacitive keyboard, a REALLY nice office chair, and stuff like that. A good battlestation is about a lot more than a big monitor, cool case, and some good processing power.

Just wanted to let people know that the Avantree headphone stand will be on sale today on Amazon.

It's a pretty damn good headphone stand and should be around $27. Its not worth a full post but I have seen a few people asking about a good headphone stand and this one is pretty good for the price. I may order a second one for myself. So if your looking for a good headphone stand this is a decent option if your headphone fits on it.

Edit: Avantree Solid Steel Headphone Stand Holder Hanger, Sturdy with Space for Cable, Great for Sennheiser, Sony, Audio-Technica, Bose, Shure, AKG, Panasonic Headphones and More - HS102 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01A09KCJ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0m7IybRT2E9CD

Sale starts in 2 and half hours from posting this.

u/FumbledAgain · 2 pointsr/virtualreality

It's very nice looking, but this dual-headphone hangar works just fine, is only $17, has a 2-year warranty, and is large enough to hang a VR headset, two controllers, and a pair of full-size headphones. This is what I use.

Of course, it depends on your willingness to leave it under a desk surface instead of on top, but a number of (somewhat informal) surveys have indicated that this is precisely the kind of scenario most VR users are dealing with right now. This product seems kind of niche, i.e. "I do VR in a living room or other large space with plenty of surface space available for accessories." I'm not sure that describes most VR folks right now.

All of that said, I do hope they succeed and that the buyers like their product. More VR accessories on the market is a good thing, and shows growth and acceptance in the industry - something it really needs right now.

u/blade_mail · 2 pointsr/AskBattlestations

Things I've found super useful:

  1. Cable management. I'm sure you have it down, but it's worth mentioning.

  2. Headphone holder. This little device is perfect to mount on your desk. I use it everyday, and it keeps my headphones from ending up on the floor.

  3. Add an outlet to your desk. I drilled a hole to mount your typical house outlet onto my desk top. You can get a variety of different outlets, such as 3 prong + USB, or just 4 usb jacks like me, for charging phones and stuff. I bought a 3 prong extension cord, cut the female end off, split the cables, and wired it to the receptacle inside of a blue electrical box from underneath. Very little electronic knowledge needed.

  4. Add a cup holder. Similar to the headphone holder, it sits off the side of the desk. But useful if you're clumsy like me.

  5. Upgrade your surge protector to a power conditioner. Power conditioner is a surge protector, plus it shows your breakers current volt output. It will usually sit around 117 to 119, But if you're like me and live in the downtown urban area, it will sometimes dipped down to 112, which means I should start conserving power. Power dipping down for me, usually occurs on hot days, when everyone in the city has an A.C. on, and the grid is being used heavily.
u/Ambedo_1 · 2 pointsr/setups

i feel like this picture would look a bit better when its dark and the lights have a lot to flourish with. there are a few things you could do here that i think would be cool. you could get a monitor mount to make it look nicer and adjust it the way you want but thats super nitpicky. there are also boxes that you can put the cables into

like this https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Box-Organizer-Management-Protector/dp/B07PB87R9X/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=box+for+cables&qid=1574995908&sr=8-3. a random thing you could get would be a headphone holder. one above the desk or an underdesk one like

this https://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Headphones-Adjustable-Universal-EURPMASK/dp/B07BVK2FQW/ref=sxin_2_ac_d_rm?ac_md=0-0-aGVhZHBob25lIGhvbGRlcg%3D%3D-ac_d_rm&keywords=headphone+holder&pd_rd_i=B07BVK2FQW&pd_rd_r=94b61411-7a4c-4483-a218-db68b09d32cb&pd_rd_w=TsFkD&pd_rd_wg=Km2ug&pf_rd_p=e2f20af2-9651-42af-9a45-89425d5bae34&pf_rd_r=28GMMBRVWJ9NTJSBG2QQ&psc=1&qid=1574995987).

looks clean though, just random thoughts that you could look into only if you wanted

To answer your question about the leather arm rest, it is probably the most comfortable thing I’ve experienced for gaming. Never thought I needed one until I had one. It’s the only reason I still use a razer, otherwise I’d switch to a Corsair.

Very nice setup!

Hoping you can answer a few questions

  1. 2nd photo, is the Xbox One on top of the PS4? If yes, how long have you had it like that? And have you experienced any heating issues? (cause I wanna do that cause that totally saves desk space)

  2. Are both consoles and macbook and PC all hooked up to the monitor?

  3. Were can I buy that headphones holder? Was it cheaper than the amazon ones (i.e https://www.amazon.ca/Universal-Headphone-JOTO-Silicone-Sennheiser/dp/B01FVT0L8A/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1501853024&sr=8-4&keywords=headphones+hanger)

That's an awesome setup. I have the micca g2 as well and I love the form factor and the switches for changing between speakers and headphones, as well as optical and USB.

Get yourself one of these for your headphones. I have the white version and it's been great.

Just undid five years worth of accumulated mess. Saw the beautiful workstations on this channel, and just couldn't take the cognitive dissonance anymore.

Installed a raceway and new power strips under the desk. The project took about four hours or so.

This channel had tons of great product and technique suggestions, and this YouTube video was also extremely helpful: https://youtu.be/Uc01oUqmxhE

Here's what I ended up using:

u/Callamanda · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Looking good, but I have two inexpensive suggestions: get this for a PC stand and get this for your headphones

I just received the glass stand and I like it a lot, used it to raise up my monitor and free up space for my keyboard and my backup HDD. It'd fit/look a whole lot better than that silly AC retail box ;)

I had a Corsair Vengeance 2100 Wireless Gaming Headset before my new Cloud Hyper X set. It was pretty mediocre, both comfort and soundwise, but it got the job done.

The Hyper X Cloud set is fairly decent and works well with glasses, but is wired. I use an underside headset hanger to reduce clutter, and am pretty happy with it.

I wanted to share a couple pictures of the desk set up and also some of the accessories I purchased. My expirience with Fully was great. I got the Jarvis3 with Walnut veneer in a72x60 size. The frame was delivered about 3 days later and the desk top about a week after purchase. The quality is everything I expected! This thing is heavy and stable at all heights. I love this desk!

I suggest taking off the box that style only works with certain setups and yours isn't one of them sorry. Just don't throw it away you'll never know when you will need it. As for something else try to stick with one color or colors that compliment each other I don't know if you have the ability to get a new desk at the moment but the colors don't match.

Edit: I assume the top of the desk can come off I recommend painting that black.

Edit#2: I recommend getting a headset stand like this one.

get something like this and a couple of these for the controllers and it becomes a really awesome setup. Well, it's already awesome, just needs some tidying up.

u/the_gamer_98 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Nice setup. I recommend a headset hanger so you can hang your headset under your desk. It will free up some room on yoir desk and clean it uo :)

In this photo, you will see (bottom-up/left-right):

  1. Ikea: LINNMON / ALEX Table, white/gray -
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S89047259/; for providing a surface for most of the following listed after this.

  2. Edifier W855BT Bluetooth Headphones - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4TZEEB/; for my bus rides to and from work.

  3. HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset - https://smile.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Stinger-Gaming-Headset/dp/B01L2ZRYVE; this headset is connected to my computer, for gaming or if I just feel like using these instead of the speakers I will mention again sometime in the future.

  4. The Anchor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P31BMHG/; this headphone mount sticks under the Ikea table I had mentioned earlier. Once mounted, I rest my two headphones on to them. When not in use, of course.

  5. Generic, black folding TV Tray - from Fancy Red Walmart; I use this tray to hold phone, drinks, or whatever else I'd like it to hold.

  6. Green bowl with spoon-shaped silverware, with a folder paper towel undereath - this was gifited to me, thanks Auntie!; before this photo was taken, this bowl was used to house Cocoa Pebbles and Whole Milk. It no longer houses said things, as they are now digesting in my vessel.

  7. Pint glass - from Frederick Meyer; this pint glass was most recently used to hold drinking water poured from my Britta pitcher, with water that comes from my kitchen sink.

  8. SONGMICS 3-tier Storage Cube Closet Organizer Shelf - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GDR3HHG/

  9. SimpleHouseware Foldable Cube Storage Bin, Dark Grey - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GKPGJH/; Items 8 and 9 are used together for storage of items unrelated to this posting.

  10. Edifier R1280T Powered Bookshelf Speakers - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B016P9HJIA/; these are speakers that I connect to my computer. They output sound.

  11. Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L - https://smile.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterKeys-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B01ITE93OM; this is my keyboard. It has fancy white LEDs that light up when you press down on whatever key you press down on. It also has Cherry MX Browns.

  12. Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller - this is the controller I use when I want to use a controller for gaming

  13. Logitech G400 Optical Gaming Mouse - https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Optical-Gaming-Mouse-910-002277/dp/B0055QZ216; my second-favorite mouse - with my first being the Logitech MX518. I love the shape of these mouses.

  14. Generic mouse pad I got off of Amazon. My mouse doesn't work without it.

  15. Bluetooth speaker that I use to connect to my phone and bring to the bathroom with me when I take a shower.

  16. CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R Mid-Tower Gaming Case - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079K1W3KB/; inside this case is my computer. What's inside the case doesn't matter for this post, as this is about my battlestation, not my computer.

  17. A Bounty paper towel roll. The Quicker Picker Upper.

  18. Talking Dalek Bank - https://smile.amazon.com/Underground-Toys-Doctor-Talking-Dalek/dp/B009Y7F744; this Dalek holds my change, while giving me threatening threats.

  19. A penguin.

  20. A flashlight. I use this when I take my dog out for walks and it is dark out. Because I don't have night vision.

  21. Below the flashlight is a container that once held M&M's. The lid of the container is shaped like the blue M&M named Blue's face. The container is currently empty.

  22. A lunch box that looks like a TARDIS - https://smile.amazon.com/Doctor-Who-TARDIS-Tote-Gift/dp/B0093DJ7LS; I don't actually use this for lunch. I use it to hold random things. Yes, it's bigger on the inside.

  23. ASUS VZ27AQ Monitor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HMSZ4S/; this is a 27-inch monitor that outputs video at a resolution of 2560x1140.
u/Brianthedoon · 2 pointsr/AverageBattlestations

Maybe consider a monitor mount (example) and a headphone hook (example) and you might find yourself with some more space to work with. Looks great, though. Pretty cool that you're so close to that window for some fresh air.

u/krinchan · 1 pointr/battlestations

I love it, actually. Though, the under the desk hook was sort of a natural progression for me. I normally kept them on the edge of the desk, and my cat kept knocking it off most evenings. The one I got was this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LL3WG1U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's pretty clean looking and comes with a pretty strong adhesive pad, a spare adhesive pad, and two screws if you want to go that direction. The adhesive pad is pretty strong once it's cured overnight, but it'll hold your headphones and survive any jostling after just a few minutes.

u/PixelPhoenix · 1 pointr/battlestations

Just so you're aware this subreddit requires for you to have a Tower as stated in Rule 1 so this post would be more suitable and appreciated on /r/macsetups or /r/battletops. Also your setup is very nice overall and I like how you have you monitor aligned with your macbook, One thing that I would recommend would be some way of hanging your headphones such as a under desk headphone hanger such as this

u/Epic_Sandwich · 3 pointsr/Battletops

Sweet, thanks! I have this one as seen in my recent battletops post but I like the wood grain look a lot better ... especially at that price point!

u/erik_vaed · 1 pointr/headphones

Just plug 'em in and play.

Treble too much? put a pair of treats in em. Still too much? put in another pair.

Try to store them in such a way that the earpads are flat. I really like this stand, for instance. No biggie though.

Other than that, don't worry too much. Just enjoy. :) I have the same setup at work!

u/Buns_A_Glazing · 2 pointsr/headphones

This is the one I purchased. While it's not the absolute cheapest, I can say it is well worth the money and cheaper than a lot of the headset stands I ran across. The bottom side has a type of clingy plastic that makes a satisfying pop when you take them off your desk. They are very stable and incredibly nice for the price.

u/ahn_anon · 5 pointsr/headphones

Haha aren't they great? Headphones are a big part of my life (not really, they're just my favorite things in the world) so why not let them rest like they deserve?

  • Brainwaz - $33 on Amazon (what! they used to be $25!)
  • Audio Technica - 3700 Yen (costs more in US, $48)
  • The AKG one came with the K701
  • The metal one is a customized creation from a world renown artist/sculptor

u/Traaginen · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I ordered this and then had a bit of buyer's remorse. It looks pretty cheap, and from what I can tell the normal price is only $2 more anyway.

Ended up canceling and picking up the LUXA2 for $29.99. It's not a deal or anything, but it's pretty sexy and matches the HD 598s we all bought perfectly.

u/Oddez · 1 pointr/battlestations

Awesome station, actually pretty jelly. But besides that the only thing I would suggest is a headphone stand or hanger. Here's an example if you're interested

u/MattH665 · 1 pointr/headphones

Not necessary but they do look nice. I bought this one from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A09KCJ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not too pricey, and it looks good IMO.

Plenty more to choose from if that one doesn't suit your taste.

u/zyck_titan · 1 pointr/buildapc

A wrist rest keeps me comfortable when I'm using the computer for extended periods of time.

I also use these headphone holders, they are cheap and mount with doublesided tape, and they'll hold just about any headphones you can find.

Another thing that many people don't think about, but can make a massive difference, is monitor placement. VESA Arm mounts are great for having monitors placed where you want them, while also letting you shift them around when you need to.

Man, I really don't see where else you can put money into. If you do you'd see very high diminishing returns in any performance (bad investments). Maybe a 1tb WD Blue HDD (I'd try and do without a HDD. They're loud and annoying, I suggest waiting till you start filing up your SSD and start looking for a cheap SSD for storage at /r/buildapcsales ) .

XXL mousepad I have it, here's a picture of my rig with the mousepad. It was a little too long for me ( I wanted some wood showing on the left side) so I tucked it over and folded it down on the rightside of my desk.

oh, and do you have a Xbox One controller? If not, you might want to get one to game with.

Maybe a desk holder for your headset. That's the one I have

That's all I can think of.

ohh, pick up some tiny zipties at the doller store (smallest ones you can find) for cable management. They come in super handy when building.

You're welcome. PM/comment me anytime if you have any questions or anything

u/jralabate · 2 pointsr/AstroGaming

I use this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012VIWG28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 not really a stand but its nice and wide where my a40's rest. I have had it for over a year. Also I want to note that I am using a mod kit on my a40's. I hope this helps.

u/ImaEvilDoctor · 1 pointr/battlestations

I would recommend a headset hook or something you can clip/mount onto the right side of your desk. I use this one at my work, it's pretty convenient and not too expensive. And maybe an ultra wide mousepad so you can better center your keyboard. mouse, and monitor?

u/ZM326 · 5 pointsr/headphones

I like these and have several of them already, but I'd suggest that anyone interested also looks into this one (currently $13.59)

It's a little longer so it accommodates headphones with wider headbands (LCD2C, L300) better, it has a lip to keep them from sliding off (the Hengja does not but I haven't had an issue myself), it can attach to a slightly wider surface, and it has grippy padding on the clamp.

I have one that I found on amazon for ~$20. I really have no idea what they are called, an on my phone so I don't want to search for then atm. However, search for headphone stand on amazon and they should pop up. They are wood, shaped like a T and hold 2 pairs of headphones. They require simple quick assembly, but they come in a nice glossy clear finish. I personally just sanded mine down and gave them a couple coats of white spraypaint for my more minimalistic style.

May try and find thd link later.

Edit: Found it! $22 on Amazon

I think it's pretty sweet, buuuuttttt...

  1. Get some cable management.
  2. Get some cable management.
  3. Get something to old your headphones like this
  4. Take a picture from higher up, This angle makes us feel like we're falling.
  5. Get some cable management.
  6. spray paint the white of your plastic drawers so that they match the aesthetic.
  7. Consider moving that beast of a tower to the floor, or onto a stand on the floor. It really overwhelms that space and makes it feel cramped. Let the displays and the shelf give you an open feeling.

You're like, 90% of the way there. That last 10% will make all the difference.

Headphone stand would be too crowded imho. You have limited desk space as is. Buy one of those undermounted or side mounted hooks and either put it under your desk on on the side of the cabinet. Either offers a cleaner look and still easy access.

Edit: something like this under the desk or like this on the side of the cabinet.

u/Siegfried262 · 1 pointr/audiophile

I use one of these

For the price I'm pretty happy with it. Also use it to mount my microphone and webcam.

u/plazman30 · 6 pointsr/headphones

yeah. All this stuff is lightweight and doesn't get hot.

I would not use this to hang a Magni 2, Magni 3 or any other headphone amp that gets warm.

I bough this under desk headphone hanger, which works great. But I used the adhesive pad it came with. I really regret that now, and wish I had taken the pad off and used Command strips instead.

u/DrinkinMcGee · 10 pointsr/buildapc

u/ninj0e · 1 pointr/headphones

Is this headphone hook any good? Reviews seem positive

u/VextrenGaming · 2 pointsr/buildapc

A standard 60mm drill tip, makes a 60mm hole in your desk. I have one under my 1m mouse mat which has my keyboard, mouse and headset mix amp which cables go through to keep cables off my desk. Then I will drill another hole to the left of my peripherals for a wireless desk charger which is 60mm as well.

Another thing as some have mentioned are monitor arms, gives so much more desk room. Then another are cable clips and 3m scotch pads. These things keep cables off the floor and underneath the desk. (This is good for the cables now going through that hole you made earlier if you do do it). The 3m can then stick a USB hub under your desk to easily access a USB port to charge your stuff. Give me a second and I’ll link some of the stuff.

And yes; it's just resting on top of the drawers, and I agree!

u/materix01 · 1 pointr/headphones

Emmm, just find one that won't compress the headband. I don't recommend those fancy looking omega stands/imitations because they squish the pads for a lot of headphones.

Something like this works well and offers a lot of flexibility but you honestly have tons of choices as a North American. Have a search in the sidebar to see what others use.

https://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Hengja-Headphone-Desk-Hanger/dp/B012VIWG28

u/axloc · 1 pointr/Vive

Headset hang from this on the side of my desk. Controllers hang on the wall using two of the cheap plastic hooks you can buy at a grocery store. They look like this. The controllers don't hang from the tether either, the open part at the top of the controller rests nicely against the hook at the wall.

u/olbaze · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

For headphones, there are many solutions. You could get a headphone holder like this one or this one depending on your situation.

As for controllers, you could put get small plastic containers for them and put them wherever. Personally, I have a drawer dedicated to peripherals and cables and I've been meaning to buy plastic boxes for my mice (mostly to keep them from dusting).

I spent like 150 on massdrop for the sieveking omega headphone stand: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/25808

as well as about 65 with shipping on this one:

previously i had spent like 15 or so on these:

A cheap upgrade could be a riser for your monitor? Ikea Riser With Drawers

Or perhaps a monitor arm riser

Perhaps an under-the-desk headphone mount?

Those are 3 cheap little upgrades. Speakers may be down the road for you depending on your preferences! Looks great so far!

u/Manthano · 1 pointr/headphones

I use these. Found they were the right mix of function and quality for the price.

Good luck.

u/mithikx · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/BRAINWAVZ-Hooka-Metal-Headphone-Hanger/dp/B01DNLLTIE/

It's really nice, all metal but expensive, they also have other models.

https://www.amazon.com/BRAINWAVZ-Truss-Metal-Headphone-Hanger/dp/B0192P8U5U/

Note that the stick-on ones will not stick to most walls, I have mine on the side of my desk which is just your standard particle board + veneer desk.

If you're really cheap you can find a spring clamp at a big box hardware store for a few bucks, it's what I did for a good while.

An under the desk headphone hanger. I see that potted plant, definitely a must have. I notice no mousepad? That looks like a wood table and you would get better response on a mousepad than just the table. I cannot fathom why people like the keyboards without the numbpad but to each there own.

u/SandboxGeneral · 2 pointsr/headphones

u/shadydentist · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

For an RGB TKL floating key case with a detachable USB cable with hot swappable switches, the GMMK is a good option at a pretty good price. Other keyboards I can think of are the K-type and the Massdrop CTRL, but you will need to find a k-type off the secondary market, and the CTRL hasn't even been manufactured yet.

u/Marikc1 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

u/packerbacker_mk · 2 pointsr/battlestations

It's an old Sennheiser clamp style headphone stand. It would probably look a little cleaner to buy one of the mounts that you screw to the bottom of the desk but I already had this and it looks nice enough.

I can't find a link to what I have but this is very similar.

u/NCC1941 · 2 pointsr/WindowsMR

I use an under-desk mount for mine. I have the smaller variant from that link (would have chosen the larger one if I'd originally planned on using it for my VR headset, but it's fine), and while mine isn't quite large enough to hold a VR headset comfortably, it still works, and weight isn't an issue - I've been using it for the last several months to hold both my headset and headphones together without issue.

u/Muffinman20051 · 2 pointsr/AskBattlestations

Headphone stand if he uses headphones. They all do the same thing (Protect headphones from damage), so you basically shop for the aesthetic that hes looking for at his desk. I use the one linked below,
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UNL29JQ/ref=twister_B01FNNNIRA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

If he doesn't use headphones, then a nice quality chair ($250, if in budget) will be a savior for his back in the long run if he spends significant time at his computer.

u/Hifimanz · 2 pointsr/headphones

do you want a hanger like this - http://www.amazon.com/Anchor-Under-Desk-Headphone-Stand-Mount/dp/B00P31BMHG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1449520971&sr=8-2&keywords=headphone+hanger or like this http://www.amazon.com/LUXA2-HO-HDP-ALE1SI-00-Headphone-Sennheiser-Plantronics/dp/B00MCVOILM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1449521006&sr=8-4&keywords=headphone+stand. The philips has a headband + an adjusting headphone pad - just hang them using the headband part and not the headphone pad and you'll be fine - you won't ever had to worry about the fabric wearing or arcing.

u/dontfeedphils · 1 pointr/headphones

Headphone Stand

It's not a bad headphone stand, the only issue is that it looks a little misleading. The bottom isn't solid aluminum (or whatever metal it's made of), it's like a piece of straight aluminum that's bent if you can picture that, then the bottom silicone piece sits on top of the bottom "foot".

It's just not as sturdy as it appears to be in pics, but still def worth it.

u/HuhhDoe · 1 pointr/battlestations

Here are my $0.02 (obviously any suggestion is personal preference):

  • manage those cables (duh). Let me know if you want specifics on what to use for your cables and I can provide some links.
  • Move your mic + boom-arm from the left side of the desk and place it on the back of the desk, closer to the monitor. That way you can pull it forward when you need it and push out of the way when you're not using it.
  • get a hanger for your headphones something like this or like this
  • get either a desk or wall mount for your monitors. that way you can move the audio device thing on the left and place it directly under the monitor to help the desk look less cluttered.
  • take your PC off the floor and put it on the desk. it will collect less dust
