A lot of us made mistakes starting out, but what's important is we learn from our mistakes, take the advice given, and improve the quality of life for our little buddies. I also understand having too small a space for a really big tank, but a 5g or even a 5.5g is really NOT that big... as reference, I originally had 3.5g tanks (the TopFin Enchant) for my bois with lots of water quality maintenance, but recently switched over to 5.5g tanks (TopFin Essentials kit) which fit in the EXACT same places the old 3.5g tanks fit (after doing a bit of cleaning and moving of stuff that didn't actually need to be there on the tabletop or simply sliding them over a bit). The tanks are just a bit more longer, around 16 inches long, but if you think about it, that's really not that bad and will fit fine on most nightstands or side-tables / end-tables or whatnot. I actually wish I had made the switch sooner. I see a NOTICEABLE difference in how much more active my bettas are now with the slightly larger tanks, even though they were quite active in the 3.5g tanks.

Do keep in mind that a filled 5g tank will weigh around 40 lb, and a 5.5g will weigh around 45 lb, so whatever you choose to keep them on should be able to support that amount of weight without collapsing (don't let that discourage you from getting the proper size tank though, just make sure to find sturdy furniture to keep them on :) and all will be well).

I got some pretty good baking swag this year.

First up was a Kopykake. I will be making disgusting amounts of cookies over the next year putting this thing to the test.

A KitchenAid Architect was shocked to see it was the full set as these are stupid expensive.

Possibly my favorite gift for kitchen stuff this year was DrawerDecor which has finally made my drawers a non clusterfuck.

Steel prep table similar to this but not this model. Got it before Christmas but was told it was an early xmas gift.

Wire Shelving similar to this, but again not this model. Its 4' wide and each shelf can take 600. It freed up SO much room for me. I highly recommend more shelving for any of you guys/gals who have the room for it.

Now I think it is worth noting that I bake for a living, and that most people don't actually want a prep table or a 3' tall projector in their kitchen but damnit I love it! :)

The main theme for this xmas seems to be helping me get my kitchen to the OCD level needed in a professional kitchen. Not sure the missus loves the strict flow of kitchen as much as I do but man, it feels good and looks great.

• As for wall scrolls, I would recommend staying away from eBay and Amazon, these are usually not official wall scrolls and the quality is a lot lower. I've actually been making my own wall scrolls and using this Custom Wall Scroll site to have them made. The print and material quality is really good and this way you can get the exact wall scroll you want.

A rabbit that's well cared for can live over 10 years. My husband's old rabbit lived to 11. Rabbits play but not like cats or dogs. They are more just do their own thing kinda pets, but if you socialzie well they will cuddle with you and will love pets and scratches. Mine will lay right next to my leg and lick me while I pet them. Playing for them is more just chewing twigs, baskets, and wood toys, sometimes tossing things around.

Rabbits will be pretty clean if you litter train and do upkeep of their living area on the regular, as well as brush them when they are shedding. Though there are always a few stray poops on the floor, usually because they stick to their feet when they jump out. Also if I get lazy and don't clean the box as often as I should they let me know by peeing outside of it.

Their diet should be primarily timothy hay, 2nd cut is best. I reccomend not buying from a pet shop, because their hay is first cut and is mostly inedible sticks. If you get a good 2nd cut hay, I get here https://www.sweetmeadowfarm.com/animal-food-and-hay/timothy.html in a 35lb box and it last my two a couple of months, and they like it much more, plus it's cheaper. Then an adult rabbit that's about 6lbs gets about 1-2 cups daily of dark leafy greens like kale, collar greens, dandelion, romaine etc, and an occasional bit of pepper, a small bit of fruit, or a radish. They also get 1/4 cup pellets a day between the two.

One thing about rabbits is that commercial cages are no good unless they spend most of the day running around. Mine actually are free run in one room, I just gate off things they shouldn't go up to. You can customize those in an infinite amount of ways. Also I find with normal size rabbits, ramps aren't needed. Also forgot to mention that one big thing about rabbits is that they are very reactant to stress. A small stressor like too much noise or a sudden temperature change can make them sick. So you have to work hard to reduce stress. If a rabbit stops eating it is an emergency. Last year it got too warm in their room and both got GI stasis and I spend $1000 fixing them up. Just a heads up.

I just thought I would share my gunroom converted from an extra bedroom for anyone out there looking for some inspiration. I’ll try to provide a full breakdown for anybody that needs some more things to put on their Christmas list this year.

The Sturdy Safe was the best and most budget-friendly safe option I could find. It’s not the prettiest but it doesn’t need to be for my purposes. This is the 1148-6 model without fire liner and the #2 standard rack that fits 60 long guns.

You definitely will want some sort of lighting system for your safe. I rigged up some LED strip lights from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EHHLD8/) and used a staple gun to secure them to the underside of the shelves. It could be done a lot neater if you want to cut and solder the LEDs but this way still looks fine when you’re looking at it from standing height. The precut hole in the back of the safe is not very big so I bought a electric outlet, box and wire from the hardware store and rigged up an electric outlet inside the safe. Some type of switch for the lights would be nice but as of right now I just plug and unplug it from the wall.

I keep an extra gun cabinet next to the safe with a couple shotguns that are beyond repair and some cheap air guns. I figure a “smash-and-grab” type thief might go for the easiest target so it creates a little diversion. A Foscam IP camera and a dedicated motion-sensor connected to the alarm give me additional peace of mind.

The work-bench is just an old IKEA desk I was no longer using. It’s not the most sturdy but it does the job.

If you’re looking for ammo storage I’ve been very happy with these Whitmor shelves from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007MHD1K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Each shelf holds up to 350 pounds, it was easy to set up, and they seem to be very sturdy.

I’ve only ever grown with artificial lights (unique living situation) so here’s some I can personally vouch for and recommend.

Sansi bulbs. I have the 24W model (fits in any standard desk lamp) and the 15W lights. These have special lenses that focus the beam very strongly in one spot, like a spotlight so it can be raised pretty high and cover a large-ish area. Don’t underestimate these, I put a plant too close to center and it turned jet black in 2 days. He bounced back just fine but these are definitely strong.

Strip lights. I’ve since upgraded my Sansi’s to these with a dedicated shelf. These aren’t as strong, I talked to a user on r/Succulents that reported haw etiolation 9 inches away from the light. However, once she lowered it to 5 inches they said they get amazing stress coloration. To put it in perspective, they said they had a Black Prince that’s always been green but has since gone black like the plant’s supposed to be.
As a bonus, here are the shelves I use, they are exactly the same dimensions as the lights.

Both are very capable depending on your needs.

Edit 11/26/19: Sooo, the strip lights have shot up to $200 for some reason. When I linked them, they were only $49. It’s either a stock issue or the new price, not sure.

A 2N2222 doesn't have nearly enough power handling for a heater. You'll need a power transistor probably in a TO-3 package with heatsink minimally to come close to 50W.


HOWEVER: You will want to do some thermal calculations first to make sure that 50W is even enough heating capacity. This involves calculating the volume of air and dough you are heating, estimating the heat capacity/specific heat of each, estimating the temperatures inside and outside the chamber, estimating heat losses and then sizing the heating element to that. Maybe 50W is enough. But maybe not.
I'd be surprised if it's enough.

If you use a fan, that's another heat transfer calculation to make.

You can teach yourself Heat Transfer (pdf) but it's not a walk in the park because this is a ME/ChemE subject rather than typically EE (it's VERY useful for EEs to learn heat transfer and thermodynamics BTW - if you have a chance, definitely take these as electives if they interest you - very useful).

The thing is you are not just heating the surface of the resistor (which is what that temperature spec is) but you are transferring an excess heat to the surroundings, and then hopefully to the dough.

So you need far more heat than what is required to heat the resistor, and heat = energy = wattage x time. That heat has to transfer from the resistance by primarily conduction to the air and then from the air to the dough. It's substantially less than 100% efficient.

You may end up needing more heat that 50W can provide. Then you'll want to go to 120VAC line voltage to run a heater. That would require an SSR (solid state relay) to switch the AC on and off plus a controller to drive it. That could be a microcontroller, with a temperature sensor.

Or it could be a commercial controller. Omega is the "easy, fast path to solution" for this kind of thing. You can find cheaper but they are a one-stop-shop online (e.g. they have good online support/training)

Honestly this is why I'd buy a proofing oven instead of DIY but that's just me. My buddy makes sour dough all the time - he uses the linked oven for his sour dough bread. Classic "Build or Buy" decision.

1. Iron X is a completely different product than Sonax. Iron X is for decontamination and is more for your paint where as Sonax is an actual cleaner that is designed to work on your wheels.

When you try and put those things on the end of the PW wand, it will spin in the collet and not go where you are wanting it to. This is the one that I have.

Make sure you have a trashcan, ice, cups and a roll of TP ready to go into the new place on moving day. They come in so handy and it's nice to be able to offer the people helping you move a bathroom and cold water.

my tricks:
Gel manacure before hand is such a wonderful thing! My nails stayed nice and the polish didn't chip at all.

Keeping makeup in a Tupperware in the cooler will keep it from melting or getting weird.

I seem like the minority but I love wearing my long hair down as often as I can, and I found braids are too damaging for my hair so I just stay away from them. Using leave in conditioner after showering kept my hair from getting staticy and crazy.

I have a very large chest and found that putting deoderent under and inbetween them really helps with the boob sweat issue! I also got a tube of this stuff to use in between my thighs to avoid chafing. I tried it out while I was at disneyland for 2 days in 100F weather and It worked like a charm!

This applies to anyone, but I brought one of these organizers last year and it felt like a lifesaver on staying tidy in my tent. I put underwear and socks in one drawer, tights and hats in the next, and other various accessories and costumes in the bottom drawer. It made it so much easier when I would be drunk and stumbling back to camp for a quick change. I also found that trying on and planning each outfit before I arrived to really help too. I don't like to fuss around with what i'm wearing too much when i'm out there so having everything ready to go was so nice.

Pretty easy and straight forward. Very easy to set up. I had built a wood rack but felt this would be easier and more upgradable. It takes up very little room and it adjustable without cutting a single thing! Just check the dimensions for what will suit your needs. Mine is 36" wide and accommodates 2x systems on top and possibly 2x more systems on the bottom. Here are some links for the part links below. I went with the black one since it had a lower chance of conductivity. I made sure to put some fitting cardboard under the mobo just in case. I used twisty ties to hold the cards up which worked great. Could use some thing Zip-Ties if you know how you want it and can leave it. A shower caddy helped alot. Didn't think I'd ever use mine but i ended up using it every day.

Besides basic school supplies, bring your vitamins as they'll help keeping you awake.

Plastic Drawers such as these where you can shove it into your closet to get yourself a few more feet of surface area helped in organization.

3M stick-on-hooks or whatever they're called to hang your stuff and keep them off the ground.

Tupperware or any container to keep your toothbrush and toothpaste neatly together.

I can't remember everything I brought over but basically anything that will keep your stuff together neatly and in a small package. Cups to hold your pens and pencils, tupperware to hold your stuff, ziplock bags. You don't want to be that roommate who drops everything on the floor as soon as they get back from class and have everything messy.

EDIT: The one thing I absolutely loved myself for bringing was a pair of ear plugs and an eye mask yo help me sleep during the day and help me sleep when it's late at night and my roommate continued to study at night. Those two things saved my life.

I don't have a setup for travel yet. Thought I do have one of these cool rolling carts! And one of these rolling carts, too. I got them to carry my supplies and wares for craft sales, but haven't used them in a while (and i don't remember them being that expensive, maybe they were on sale...). Super handy though.

Though, the couple of times I've had to take a small amount of wire and tools with me somewhere, I've just put tools in one gallon sized ziplock bag, and the wire in another, then tossed them into a bigger cloth bag to carry.

Here's what my crafting wall looks like at the moment. It's in disarray, but better than it was! :) The pegboard was going to be thrown out at work, so I saved it. There is a lot of space that I could use that is covered up by the desk, but I didn't want to cover up the window. And yes, there's a makeshift cat bed on the top shelf. I knew I wouldn't be able to make the shelves without her having something to lie on, because she would have climbed up there and just knocked everything off anyway. the shelving is made out of this modular shelving stuff, but with zip ties not the connectors it comes with.

This is just the stuff I use regularly. I have a whole room full of supplies I either bought myself or inherited from my mom.

I forgot to consider you might be out of the U.S, but my tips should still apply.

This might sound obvious but don't overpack clothes. Some of my roommates and myself included brought so many clothes that we don't use and it's just taking up space.

For kitchen use, take your own utensils but just one of each you're not going to need more than that trust me. For kitchen equipment like pans and pots, if your buddys do get in coordinate who takes what so you don't have multiples.

In the beginning it's all about taking what's absolutely essential, if you're able to go home during breaks that's when you bring some more stuff if you have the space.

Well, I used to have a blue one of these, and it held up really well, so I have to recommend it. You can get them cheaper at places like Target, though.

This sort of container is the same concept, more stackable, but less convenient. It's also cheaper in some stores.

If you want to go more fancy, this is a spiffy stackable container. The top is a lid that comes off. My parents have one, and it's pretty nice.

No pictures because I'm not home, but I have 3 of these little, stackable sterlite containers, 3 large z-palettes, one of these acrylic organizers that fits nicely onto of the sterilite drawers, & a brush bag to hold my brushes that I rarely use but can't seem to part with. Any pressed powder that I could de-pot & place in the z-palette, I did, which really help towards space saving. I also have done multiple de-clutters over the past year, in order to get rid of colors that were too similar or products that I didn't really like/use. I managed to get my collection down to fit everything in these storage containers, including my brushes/tools that I use daily. Everything except my brush bag fits on 1 shelf in my bathroom cabinet (I have built in set up just like this), & I place the bag in a drawer that has a bunch of necessary, but rarely used things, so it's accessible, but out of the way. I share a house with my cousin, so I have a 1 shelf/2 drawer limit with no counter space to speak of. If I can't fit my stuff neatly into my designated space, I have to get rid of things. Unfortunately, I don't have a proper vanity; I have 7 dogs & their beds/crates take up all the spare space (& then some) in my bedroom. It's a sacrifice I'm more than happy to make.

I keep most of my pens, pencils, airbrush equipment, markers, inks, and smaller items inside these, I like the black ones, and the larger/oddly shaped items like spray paint, gesso, palettes, and acrylics get tossed into these folding canvas boxes you can find pretty much anywhere now. I can fit one of each side by side on my shelves and they keep everything neat and organized. I have 4 of the canvas containers and 3 of the Sterilite drawers along side all my art books and video games on these dinky waist high shelves I got at Target. You'd be surprised how much stuff you can cram into them.

My drawing desk is just a smallish dinner table I bought for $10 bucks, best deal ever! On it, I keep a rotating pencil holder from Office Depot that holds my brushes, rulers, and nib holders. I also have a few jars of water for water coloring, two lamps, and some of those wooden hands/mannequins for still lifes on there. I nailed some nails to the side of the table to hang a pencil case filled with the essentials for when I'm traveling or want to paint/sketch outside, I also have some nails for artist's tape, my heat gun, and a dust brush.

I generally don't work on paper larger than 9x12, so most of my pads of paper and sketch books go right in my shelf standing up.

I can't stand working in a messy studio or losing any of my supplies, so having multiple drawers and boxes where I can just throw things into and sort them out later is perfect for me. I really recommend the Sterilite drawers. They have them at Target and Walmart and come in different colors.

I was just looking to buy something similar, because I moved and my new kitchen is too cold for anything to ferment properly in a timely fashion. I am trying to also make filmjolk, which needs room temperature, and would also like to make Quark, which needs a different temperature entirely that yogurt or kefir.

I have two yogurt makers that are too hot, so currently trying to figure out a way to use them without anything actually touching the too warm base.

Basically, I'd buy this if:

1. I can set the temperature digitally anywhere between 20C to 50C and also set an auto-timer
   
2. The top is expandable so I can use a higher jar
   
3. The base is large enough for at least two large jars
   
   I would not buy it if it was set on one temp setting and only for kefir. Multi-use, as others stated, is key here, as that would allow me to justify getting yet another appliance by donating my current yoghurt makers.

Fellow book addict here! I got something like this but without wheel and filled it with books and put it in my closet. I also use stacks of books as bookends, put them in my desk drawers, put them on the top shelf of my closet, and for awhile I used a stack of books as a little nightstand (my bed is on the floor, no frame). As for the books you want to giveaway, sell, or swap, I recommend checking out /r/bookswap, or /r/bookies where I run the weekly bookswap (in which you can also sell and give away). Good luck! :)

Another good option is to just make yourself a little 4-6" shelf with some plywood and spare boards and set your monitor on that.

Or if you want the glorious machine easier to see, buy one of these. It's what I use and it looks great and makes the case easy to access.

I use 2x4 basics attachments. They hook right into pre-cut 2x4s and are incredibly adjustable so they can be as high or as wide as you want. For a sharp, clean look you can paint them yourself.

Not the fanciest solution, but it works great thanks to how easy they are to assemble and customize sizes!

I simply cut out some cardboard to put on the wire as to not cause potential damage to the games (even though I'm pretty sure they won't as the "wires" are pretty close together.

These shelves are pretty damn sturdy, easy to put together and easily hold enough weight to stack on as many boardgames that will fit.

Have you considered something like a metro rack? I use one similar to this that I purchased from Lowes and it's a lifesaver. It is super sturdy, tall, the shelves are pretty standard sized so I can add more if I need, and I have plenty of room to zip tie lights to mine.

If I could suggest one thing, look into getting a little bookshelf for your pc and PS4. I don't have nearly as nice a setup as others do with trays like this where they card all their floss and organize it by color or number. I keep my uncarded floss in little drawers roughly sorted by color and then card it as I actually use the color - mine has more drawers than this and stays on top of a cabinet, no pictures since I am at work. Once they are carded they get to live free-range in my sewing basket (not my actual basket print but same type and alas i am not at home to show off the pretty teal), where rules are made up and organization doesn't matter. But they don't snag against each other so I'm perfectly happy. Metallic threads stay on their spools in an extra large index card box (I only use the kind on spools so recarding isn't an issue). Finally, variegated threads all live in.... a candy tin. Kinda like your current setup but pretty and oval. I only have a couple carded atm so those live at the bottom and I know where they are.

I have really bad ADHD and a couple other comorbidities so having to maintain a filed system would no joke make me go fucking insane. Digging around to find and compare shades of colors is fun to me and as long as everything is stored in the one box then I know where they are to pull everything out and gaze upon it.

buy/build a gun rack to sit at the bottom for your long guns, I'd put it where the mortar is sitting just now. They're pretty simple if you can do even basic DIY.
get a pistol rack to go above that, again pretty easy to DIY, you could raise it up or put a drawer underneath to keep all your mags.
next to the pistols have a space to charge batteries and maybe a desktop drawer sized thing to hold parts, not sure how many there are.
get some drawers/shelves/really useful boxes to store your gear next to your long guns.

gust get some lumber from home depot to DIY most of this stuff super cheap or look around, here some examples...

how I'd set it up

Many people push against buying storage for items "when you could just downsize further", but I think you could really benefit from one of those cubby storage units (like a bookshelf, but square cubbies instead of shelves). We have one and those cloth cubes that unfold from a flat state to become "drawers", and odds and ends can be places into labeled Ziploc bags and whatnot and easily stored out of sight. Amazon (yes, I know, Jeff Bezos is the Antichrist) makes these units that, while not terribly attractive, come in pieces and can be assembled. Maybe worth considering!

If you're willing to (and have the tools already/not having to buy them), you could always build your racks from wood. Using basic 2x4's you could do it pretty cheap.


Check FB marketplace or craigslist or whatever it is you have up there for used shop lights. I got 5 for $20 like new.

I have these and find them pretty good. They are a little bit of a pain to put together but shouldn't be particularly difficult if you have more than one person working on it. Also, their corners are a little sharp, but this kind of thing would probably fix that problem. The shelves are huge and hold a ton of weight securely. Also, if you plan on getting more than one, I suggest also getting black zip ties to connect adjacent units together for increased stability.

If you think you could go with something a little more expensive, IKEA has some nice board game shelves.

My professional opinion is CRAP that place is huge! A bit too huge to get all over sound coverage with a $500 budget.

Like Calinet6 said your going to have insane reverb in there. Normally you take care of this with sound reinforcement and a ton of speakers playing softly as opposed to two or four blasting at full volume.

I think your best bet is to get some sort of rolling cart and put all your equipment on it. Then just roll it to where you want the music. It could even have speakers fire in all directions. Still this would require you to plug it in where ever you are to 110V. Sort of like an insane $500 rolling boom box. You may even be able to get some sort of stereo imaging if you positioned the speakers right.

That Behringer Cal linked is rated highly so it is a good recommendation.

You then just need a pair of nice loud speakers(this is sold EACH!). These may not be as tough as outdoor speakers or commercial but you can cover them or roll them into a corner closet for storage if the weather got real bad.

create a separate space to put your not clean but not dirty clothes, maybe a dedicated drawer in your dresser, a storage container, or they even sell things like these at Walmart and department stores that work really well for clothing. if you have a bank account you can go to the bank and ask for a roll of quarters and they'll deduct that money from your account, or they may be able to literally exchange $10 in cash for a roll of quarters, not positive.

My goal was to get my cables off the ground. Then I attached the power strip and bundles of cable to the wire panel and made it look all neat. This way none of the cables are visible unless you go under the desk. I realized that you can order the shelves however you like so I took a little liberty to get everything to fit!

Honestly, we don't really use the back door much. On our last few trips, we actually put a set of plastic drawers (like this one) in front of the door for a little more storage. It's nice to be able to open both doors for a breeze though.

The front door is far enough away from the bunks that we don't wake the kids up. It also helps to really tire them out. Run around all day, go swimming if you can, etc. Also, we have one of these night light switches down by the floor right next to the front door. It's enough light that we can come in and grab something or see our way to the bathroom without turning on a light.

I know it seems weird, but hear me out. We live in a smallish apartment, two adults and a kid. We have an outdoor storage closet and a living room closet. Well, we live in Florida, not a lot of need for lots of coats. So we got a metal shelving unit that fits into our living room closet and it has become a pantry since we have a TINY kitchen with almost no space.

The outdoor storage closet on our patio was useless as is, but with the rubbermaid shelves, we have SO MUCH STUFF in there that we use, but can't store inside. I use this stand for my 40g and its been working out well. The wood is pretty flimsy, but as a rimmed tank all the weight sits on the edges anyway which is where it's reinforced. I have the same CO2 system as well and it's been working really well. Unfortunately I have nothing to compare it with, but I've had no issues with it for the last 4 months.

Now I use spyderco's spyderpacs. I hang them up on nails using the few loops that the pacs have. Then I just place the knives inside. Nice little wall decoration. :)

In total, it was a $350 project that could definitely have been done for cheaper, but I wanted to design it in a way that made it as painless as possible to turn my cardboard into mushrooms.

Also, I have an old space heater/fan combo that I intend to use when the temperature starts to drop. I plan to automate it with one of the Sonoff Wifi switches and control it with the Sonoff temp sensor.

I can't take pictures as they're currently across the country, but I use something very similar to these for storage. They fit the normal human-size figures well, and everything taller went into a couple separate storage bins.

Watched a few youtube videos to get a high level knowledge. How would I shim a stand that's just and edsal shelf like this? I just moved and had to put my 40gal directly on the floor because the previous stand got damaged (and wasn't very good in the first place). The floor here is extremely uneven. The left and right side are off by over half and inch and the front and back are off by about a half an inch so I know I absolutely have to get this fixed ASAP. With it being off by so much, what's the safest way to shim the stand and even things up?

Alternately, would it be better to try a cinder block stand? Looking at the edsal shelves, I'm not sure my screentop lid would fit since the stand would be exactly 36" long with a very snug fit for the tank itself.

I'm just going to build my own. You just need to buy some 1"x1" wood and nail/glue it together. Or if you don't want to build it just go with wire shelving like this. People zip tie the mobo on the shelf and hang the gpus from the underside of the shelf.

I have a tackle box for all my notions, I use a Sterilite container for all my fabric, this thing for my thread, and a Sterilite drawer cart for all my other crafting supplies. I'm getting into crocheting so I got this cart for all that stuff. I keep everything in my closet for easy access.

I use little Sterilite drawers like these and pretty pencil cups/organizers for brushes (currently this and this.) I separate products by type. There's a drawer for face products, eyeshadow, eyeliner/mascara/brows, lips. I keep brushes of the same type together too.

Absolutely not what OP used, but a similar concept, is this type of shelf. I've had my eye on them for like 6 months but my windows are frosted and I'm not sure if they'd stick!

Our baby is also going without a nursery for the first couple of months. If you've only got two tubs, I'd suggest maybe sorting them by color in these drawers. They're a bit expensive on amazon, you might be able to find them cheaper at your local Walmart. These types are good for organizing into individual parts, but might be a bit overkill for a smaller collection.

and hotglued in dividers made from some 1/4" plywood.

Each pen type gets its own drawer, and every part from that pen gets its own section in the drawer. So when I get a shipment of pen parts, I divide them up between the drawers and dividers, so when I am working on a specific pen I just pull out 1 of each part and assemble.

My blanks are still just in a pile with there species written on the side though.

How about those Sterilite drawer carts, like these ? They vary by height, width, depth. You can easity cut holes in the back for cables. Stick the units in each drawer with controllers and accessories. Pull them out when you play. Close them up and wheel them back when you're done.

We also have a two-pronged approach. A tower of drawers in a closet similar to THIS, but taller/more drawers, and a go-bag that sits near the door similar to THIS.

This might work for you. I haven't tried it for fermentation, but it does have precise temp settings, and you don't have to immerse anything in water. I proof bread in it and have begun using it instead of a slow cooker because it's so convenient to just use my stainless steel stockpot instead of maneuvering the crockpot insert in and out of its cradle.

You could try one of those window suction cup shelves. This one says it holds up to five pounds, and this one holds seven; that's probably enough for a few small plants.

Have you thought of using the Sterlite paper drawers? Like this? These are usually cheaper in stores.

It can be a plastic drawer type thing you stick in that's not permanently mounted.

My window is east facing, so it gets decent light without roasting the leaves too badly. I have a shelf with a grow light right near the window as well, so I'm sure they get some ambient light from that.

I have a small storage room that I leave the light on all day and it stays between 80-85.

You can just leave it at room temp too. I just left it on the counter in the beginning. We keep our house at 72.

Models with a 4000 lbs total or 800 lb per shelf capacity can hold 40 gallon breeders. I've kept 4 breeders (stacked 2 high) on this shelf without issue.

This is the type I like. Each shelf holds 300 pounds. You can place the shelves at any level, but unfortunately it doesn't look like you can get additional shelves. I've used this type at work and they are sturdy and dependable.

Haven't you ever been camping? If you are homeless and broke and someone is offering you a warm, dry place to sleep why are you wasting time freaking out about building a loft? That looks like about 300 sq feet of space there and you'll be able to set up a basic "camp kitchen" and sleeping area NO PROBLEM. Get a WARM sleeping bag and a mattress to insulate you from the floor because baseboard heat is going to be EXPENSIVE. If you can't shower at the gym or at a friend's place, get a solar shower and a big pot and heat water on a camp stove and fill the bag that way. You need a place to prepare food: camp stove/microwave/folding table/minimal cooking and eating utensils. A place to sleep: floor mat/warm sleeping bag a place to bathe: a friend's place or a camp shower setup. A place to toilet: fast food restaurants/a friend's house/a camp toilet setup.
