It was a 2018 gift, but this cute hot water bottle. My feet are freezing most of the year but fall/winter especially. I can't sleep if my feet are cold so my husband bought me this. I fill this with hot water when I shower at night, pop it at the foot of the bed, and it makes sleeping SO much more comfortable.

Plus the cover is super cute and keeps things from getting too hot. :)

Something other people haven't mentioned yet is a hot water bottle! I think they're more common in the UK than the US but you can find them on amazon ( this for example)and then buy a nice hot water bottle cover (like this).

Give it to her before she gets her period and she'll still love it, but she'll probably discover soon that it feels super nice against her stomach when she has cramps.

I have had this on my WL for ages. I have a bad back and I've heard that a hot water bottle is much better for your back than an electric heating pad.

The best thing that has happened to me lately is that I finished shopping for school supplies for my oldest daughter. I loathe school supply shopping right before school, so I went out and did it this evening and it was so much fun. Just like being a kid again. Well, at least if you were that weird kid that really loved shopping for school supplies. I was.

I'm in a similar situation OP. A wet washcloth on your neck is great, but here is my best tip for sleeping. Get a hot water bottle (smooth kind, not the kind with ridges), except fill it with cold water. Sandwich it between your thighs. This cools down the blood passing through your femoral arteries pretty quick. Works great. You could even add some of those long, skinny ice cubes meant for a water bottle.

Best thing I've bought when I get too cold, but it's not cold enough overall to justify turning the furnace on. I've even used it to plant my feet on when it's pretty warm, and it cools me off (with cool water on the inside).

Also my cat is fond of it when it has hot water inside and will cuddle up to it (and me :D )

Amazon has great water bottles listed. Some even come with nice warm covers. I bought this for myself and extra for family and we all love it.

I wonder if OP could also offer to text the owners whenever the cat comes over for the night? It probably wouldn't wake them up, but when they got up in the morning they'd be able to see right away that their cat was safe. If the neighbors don't text, perhaps he could leave a little sign outside his door or something to indicate the cat was there.

Or like you say, a little cat house with blankets is a nice idea. Maybe also a hot water bottle or thermos or something to keep it warmer?

Just a heads up, Midol is overpriced - generic acetaminophen and a warm drink will be just as helpful to you in your discomfort. Those heating pads are also a bit pointless and expensive, a hot water bottle like this will last you many years and does exactly the same job!

I'd also suggest some kind of reusable feminine care option to save you money in the future - a Diva cup, perhaps, or cloth pads. I use cloth pads, and have never had the desire to go back to disposables. I understand if you're not comfortable with those though, it's just a suggestion.

We bought some old school hot water bottles like these and, for the kids, fill them up with the hottest water from the tap. I usually put them near baby’s feet, just so there’s some ambient warmth nearby. They retain heat really well and the little sweater sleeves prevent them from being too hot to the touch. You could even just put it in the bed before bedtime and take it out when you lay baby down. We have one for every bed in our house and sometimes my five year old falls asleep hugging his like a stuffed animal!

I live in Canada, here is what I've done:
Put boiling water in hot water bag[1] and put the bag near your core/on your lap. You can put your hands on the bag between rounds but, really, by warming your core your hands will no longer get cold.

All other tips still apply: Wear slippers, wear a sweater, drink soup. That stuff helps. But hands down (hah) having a hot water bag will heat your core up like nothing else and your hands will naturally be taken care of.

It gets everything nice and toasty and is actually still warm when I wake up in the morning. I heat an electric kettle with water and it fits about the same amount of water that the hot water bottle uses.

I also use a down comforter, with another one on top. In addition to that, I have two dogs that sleep with me and keep everything nice and toasty.

It's a soft rubber bottle that you fill with hot water out of a kettle (obvs don't fill it up all the way, just 2/3 full). It fits inside a soft cover and when you hug it, it's just so warm and soothing. Everytime I have period pains or a bellyache this is my go to solution. Or any kind of aches really. Or when I'm sick. This stuff is amazing and so comforting.

The internet community has gotchu!! It's how I cheered myself through my insertion :) I also highly recommend a hot water bottle/bag to rest on your abdomen after the insertion, mine helped allll the cramps and twinges I felt later that day and night!

We have to get potty break at 11pm and are up ready for play potty and breakfast at 4am with our 12 week old.

In the past I’ve used a kettle or hot water from the tap to fill them up. I like having the sleeves on the bottles because you can get the water hotter (they stay warmer longer) and it’s a perfect barrier between the hot thing and your skin!

This sounds weird and very un splurge like, but this hot water bottle is the bomb. Seriously.

If there is any reason that you didn't get it by now, here is your chance. Just think about suffering with cramps or sore muscles and wonder, what could I do to alleviate this horror? Hot water bottle is the answer.

How do i know? I used to have bad cramps when I was younger. I don't anymore, but this seriously helped more than aleve. Also, I had two since I'd get back and lower stomach cramps. Oh, the pleasures of being a girl! (゜´Д｀゜)

Ibuprofen is typically more effective for cramps than acetaminophen, but you can also take both at the same time. Applying heat to your abdomen should help too. I use either a hot water bottle if I'm at home or heating pads if I'm out. The discharge is normal in my experience.

I manage the heat by charging my phone on a mostly-filled water pouch (something like https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001VJC3ZE/ ). Water has a high heat capacity so the pouch is enough to keep the phone cool even when quick-charging.

My absolute favorite is this oversized heating pad. It doesn’t get too hot to burn but hot enough to bring down the pain, and turns off after awhile. Full disclosure, I fall asleep with it on the highest setting all the time and have never gotten burned.

Although, this is another one of my favorite options. For me, the heat from water is much more therapeutic (see my massive water bill for the several hot showers a day I take haha). But this is like an old fashioned rubber hot water bottle. A lot of them come with cute covers on them. You pour hot water in it and it literally lasts the night.
